Barbara Walters to undergo heart surgery

Talk show host Barbara Walters announced Monday she will undergo surgery this week to replace a faulty heart valve.

"I have known of this condition for a while now, and my doctors and I have decided this is the best time to do the surgery," the 80-year-old co-host of ABC's "The View" said at the opening of Monday's program, which was dedicated to "Hot Topics."

Surprise winners on 'Amazing Race'

As much as fans (myself among them) seemed to be pulling for the cowboys, Jet and Cord, to win "The Amazing Race" on Sunday night, it was not to be. And they weren't beaten by the team who took first on the previous leg, Brent and Caite (of "U.S. Americans," "the Iraq" fame).

Like we've seen on so many previous seasons, it's the little things that count, and brothers Dan and Jordan made a couple of aggressive (some would say questionable) moves, which won them the $1 million prize.

I'm not sure exactly where it is that these two heard that placing a backpack in front of someone else's backpack means that you are allowed to cut in line, even when you arrived hours later. Nevertheless, Jet and Cord held their frustration in when they were placed in back of the line for a flight from Shanghai to San Francisco. FULL POST

Bethenny Frankel welcomes a baby girl

Someone crack open a Skinny Girl beverage and raise a glass in congratulations to Bethenny Frankel: The 39-year-old reality TV star gave birth to a baby girl at 8 a.m. Saturday morning in New York City, according to People.

Frankel and her husband, Jason Hoppy, named their daughter Bryn.  "She is a 4 lb. 12 oz., healthy baby,” Frankel’s rep said in a statement to the magazine. "Bryn, mom, dad and [their dog] Cookie are all very happy."

A few hours after giving birth, Frankel concurred that sentiment on Twitter.

“I can't express how happy I am & how beautiful, supportive & thoughtful u all are,” she tweeted. “Bryn is a tiny beautiful peanut.”

Trailer Park: 'Jonah Hex,' 'Secretariat' and 'Splice'

Last summer’s action adventure film featuring a scantily clad Megan Fox was “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.” This summer’s action adventure film featuring a scantily clad Megan Fox is “Jonah Hex.”

Josh Brolin plays the title character, a scarred bounty hunter who makes a deal with the law - his freedom in exchange for hunting down a massively dangerous terrorist. Hex is incredibly tortured with a sweet tooth for revenge and doesn’t get close to anyone except a prostitute named Leila (played by Fox).

The bad guy in this one is John Malkovich, who, coincidentally, has been added to the cast of “Transformers 3." “Jonah Hex” hits theaters June 18. FULL POST

'Celebrity Apprentice:' Forget honesty in the boardroom

I knew it was going to be a long night when none of the remaining celebrities wanted to be project manager of this week’s challenge. They were told to decorate an apartment in celebrity style, especially one room. One of the judges would be designer Jonathan Adler.

I immediately hoped none would be inspired by Donald Trump’s gaudy New York apartment, the location of this week’s opening scene.

Since Sharon Osbourne and Maria Kanellis said they couldn’t stand the sight of Curtis Stone last week, Trump made sure they worked together as RockSolid. Osbourne served as their project manager. FULL POST
