Expecting no silence of the Lambs on 'Idol'

I imagine that the "Idol" judges are super excited about tonight.

The anointed one, Adam Lambert, has returned.

The show just started and you can tell Ryan Seacrest can barely contain himself, strolling down the brightly lit staircase lined with the Top 9.

Here we go peeps.

Adam can sing, thats for sure but he can leave all the theatrics at home, thats ruining a great talent. He'll be forgotten sooner than later.

Adam was great on AI last year; but as seen last night – not the same guy we enjoyed last year and his voice, actions, even the way he carried is different. Sorry. but Adam would not make it in AI if tried again. When he came out of the gate he was great – it's when he came out of the closet that ruined him; and ultimately why he lost.

Adam Lambert was a wonderful mentor!!! Painful watching the judges judging! Wish it was back to original three when things were more obvious and interesting. Now it is a jumbled mess. Go girls go!!!!

Adam, at last someone with a spark. This season ought to be renamed "American Dreary". What were the judges thinking? Simon is behaving like any employee who's forced to work out their notice. Ellen, bless her, is useles. She knows nothing and doesn't speak for the layperson. She knows as little about song choice as I do about quantum physics. Yet she bangs on continously about it. Randy too is one for saying the same things over and over. Tedious, Tedious, Tedious. Ryan what has happened to you? Is he past his sell-by date? He somehow has managed to age himself. He looks like a stock broker but even worse he now looks like the father of most of the contestants. His attempt to be the alpha male is sad to watch. Kara is the best of a mis-matched bunch. Next season needs to be dramatically improved if they want to maintain viewer ship. I am bored and disappointed. Does anyone feel the same?

    You say Tomato...

People see different things in Lambert. I see someone who has potential but not gobs of talent. If you strip all the costume, makeup and outrageousness away there's not much left (IMO). He hasn't come out of the gate very strong and if not careful will fizzle fast.

At this point there isn't one of them in Season 9 who is anywhere CLOSE to needing recording industry advice so Adam having only new experience in that area is irrelevant. What they need is advice on how to captivate an audience, how to dominate a stage, how to change up a song and make it their own without blowing it so far away from the original that it is unrecognizable. They can get tips from the only person mentoring who has ever actually lived the Idol experience. Those are all things that Adam is more well-qualified for than any other mentor they've had.

Ok not a fan of the blues, or of that song that Crystal just sang.

I disagree on that Adrian, Adam is a very talented entertainer. I just worry about his industry experience level and being able to offer them guidance in that manner.

Please... Lambert mentoring is like asking Scott MacIntyre for driving lessons.

I'm rather excited at an Elvis week, I don't remember them doing one since Hicks won.
I'm rather apprehensive about Lambert mentoring, he's a very talented performer and not really 'new' but as far as being experienced in the recording industry, he isn't. It should be interesting.
