CNN received the following statement from Madonna's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, regarding the passing of Caresse Henry.

Caresse Henry, 44, of Laguna Beach, California died suddenly on March 31st in Irvine, California. Despite rumors to the contrary, the cause of death has not been determined and is currently under investigation. Born in Los Angeles, Ms. Henry managed Madonna’s career for 10 years. She went on to briefly manage Ricky Martin, Jessica Simpson, Joss Stone, Paula Abdul and Andrew Dice Clay. Henry is survived by her two children, Honour Kristen Norman and Ava Caresse Hinojosa who both reside in Los Angeles. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Yvette and Steve Dobbie of Laguna Beach, brother Patrick Henry, Jr. of San Diego, mother Angelica Henry of Newport Beach and father Patrick Henry, Sr. of Wexford, Ireland. Services will be held on Friday, April 9th at ll:00 am at St. Paul’s Church in Westwood, California. “The family has requested that their privacy be respected during this difficult time,” stated Liz Rosenberg, longtime friend and spokeperson for the family.

I love how people take the time to comment on a story that means nothing to them..Close the tab and move on, obviously you feel the need to comment for whatever reason...And for people who say who cares, why is she news..When you die, maybe your family should say the same. You people aren't famous, so why should we care or anybody put an obituary in the paper to remember your life. People are disgusting sometimes and so clearly have no lives. Anyone who has anything negative to say about the death of anyone has some serious bad karma coming their way..I'm glad I don't know any of you.

Who can think of the 80's without thinking of Captain Lou Albano? This news is devastating! From the beginning, he helped Madonna with her first hit "O Mickey Your So Fine" and it was all uphill from there!

Goodbye Captain Lou, and RIP. Good to see that you finally shaved.

First, my condolences to the family and friends. Second, shame on all of you with the negative commentary. I do sincerely hope nobody ever treats you the way you treat others. If you are not interested in certain news stories, simply do us all a favor and not read/comment on them. It is a free country and CNN can post any story they feel is important. If you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing. This is a human being who died, not an animal. Have some respect. My heart goes out to this family. May she rest in peace.

44 year old people generally dont die from natural causes. Just like with all the movie star; there seems to be a lot of 30 and 40 yrs olds mysterious dying in LA?

Is it is the smog? I would think there has to be some other reason than "natural" causes.

You're right 44 y.o is quite young to die. However my dad died when he was only 26 (shot by a so called minister while my dad was trying to get a shotgun from the minister who was threatening to kill him cause my dad wouldn't marry his pregnant daughter). And the preacher went free...the same day after admitting to killing my dad.. It didn't make CNN news (until now) but there was a teeny tiny print about it in the local newspaper. Did he have a great impact on others lives? Yes he did. Did he have family? Yes he did. Was he famous? No he wasn't. Did many people care? No they did not ......Wait now, don't tell me none of you heard about this? Anyway RIP whomever you are.

I can't believe all this rubbish being written. If you knew, or knew of thelady, then it's news. If not, then brush over it and read other news items that do interest you. Why all these blogs, that just lead to petty arguments that seem to just grow and grow in their levels of aggression. Is it any wonder you Americans go into schools and shoot people, or go to war at "the drop of a hat", when you get so aggressive over someone's untimely death ? Good grief, at least show a little respect for the dead !

I am so sorry for the loss of Caresse. She seemed like a wonderful lady and how great she managed Madonna through some of Madonna's best eras( Ray Of Light and Music).

Rest in Peace! Caresse will be remembered by millions of Madonna fans everywhere.

To all of you making negative and rude comments about this woman's passing not being newsworthy, please note this is a BLOG. Don't read, don't comment and go away if this is not of interest to you. And the most glaring observation here is, YOU are the idiot if you clicked on the link that led you here.
May Ms. Henry rest in peace and that the Good Lord bring healing and comfort to those who loved her and knew her best.

I am concerned for the future of this country for many reasons, however when I see idiotic comments regarding the placement of this news on CNN, I know it might be too late. Listen up: This is a blog within CNN. Entertainment blog at that. It wasn't front page news. It was a link on the front page (now under Entertainment). If you want a more serious flavor of news, check out the US or WORLD categories. Most are not blog pieces.

What also is totally ridiculous is the smugness of these idiots who decide that if it isn't news they themselves care about, then none of the rest of us should care either. Get over yourselves!

Caresse might have been a great business woman and is loved but being new to the article, 44 years old? More like 55. The lines on her neck and the heaviness of her face show age and someone who was unhealthy. When i was 44, I looked 30 easily because I took care of myself. Maybe it was a heart atttack?

I agree. Is this news because she's rich, white, and associated with a powerful woman? Stories like these make the invisible class line visible. How many other people died, suicide or not, on that day? Tragic, yes, but worthy of CNN coverage? Debatable, at the very most.

Lets face it you have a commie for a president and a first lady ( and thats a loose translation for the term at best) that hates America. He lied to the public to get into office. Used illegal methods to ram cram the health care bill ( which is why 14 states minimum are taking this to court).

Pity that they even let him back into this country after his little nite flight to afghan. Amazing that friendly fire didn't occur. Why do we have to wait for 2012 to get this jerk outta the white house. Impeach him now.. show him what real change is.

This woman was linked to an iconic ledgend in the music business. She may have served behind the scenes, but she was a part of Madonna's success. She was also linked to other huge music stars and was young and had a family.

As a former journalist I can guarantee you that this story merits inclusion into CNN's Entertainment section. She was a major force in a music Icon's career who died at just 44 of an apparent suicide...That is newsworthy. As far as those who are spouting out such venom and hate, remember these words: "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."

They have their comments and views and whether you l like them or not it is a free country to post any comments you wish. Im sorry for her family but I agree, not newsworthy to me and to those who disagree that s just tough..... keep in mind its not about her its about cnn being depeleted of new worthy stories to post hers. If it was suicide as it implies then I have no sympathy as she was selfish enough to leave her children behind to grieve her.

Wow, some people are stupid. You don't get why this is mentioned as news? Well, it's celebrity news, which is an aspect of news and pretty high-profile at that. And why is this person involved in the management side being mentioned when others are not? Because she's connected to Madonna, who's not just a star, but a superstar, for a long time. Just like how everything involving Michael Jackson was covered, it's the same stratus. It's pretty easy to figure out if you're not dim-witted.

I also had to break the news to a mutual friend that used to work for Madonna's record label, WBR. You can easily find me on Facebook and Twitter. The website is under construction but I have owned the oldest Madonna fan domain (madonnaweb.com) for almost 14 years. I feel Caresse was in pain her whole life – even though she had this fabulous career, she didn't feel worthy of it even though she was. I do feel she is at peace now but her life here was filled with turbulence even though she had the ability to be very calming and she had a lot more potential than she realized. I feel she loved butterflies and that she likened her life to always evolving and changing, and she did that, but it wasn't enough, she was her own toughest critic and did not give herself the self love that she deserved. I do feel she will find peace on the Other Side. xoxo

Caresse will be missed by many, including myself. Not only did she have a heart of gold in an industry full of many heartless people, but she was a leader, a creative thinker, a shrewd business woman, and a "girl's girl" who always had time for her friends and colleagues, even under the intense pressure that comes with managing a superstar. She worked her way up from being Madonna's assistant to being her manager, and they also became the best of friends. When they split up, people were shocked, because noone couldn imagine one without the other. For many women in the industry, Caresse was a role model. To her friends, she was someone who could be counted on no matter what, who always had your back and who often gave incredible advice that would help you in ways you never dreamed of. She was an incredible marketer and was the one who thought to put Madonna's children's book in the GAP stores (putting anything not branded "GAP" was something they had never done before), was the one who reinvented Madonna's image again and again, and the one who made the huge touring deal for Madonna before those types of deals were ever being made. Her grace and class was unparalleled. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. May she rest in peace and may her daughters know how very much they were loved. (For those who wonder why this is news, or aren't interested, no need to comment at all, just move on.)

EVERY LIFE is news worthy and the PEOPLE BEHIND the scenes of many great things, are not recognizable, but ESSENTIAL to the successfulness of those you think are newsworthy. The hardwork behind the "faces in the news" is why they make the news. The brains behind so much technology and modern medicine are not "known" but are the heroes of the world. HOW VERY SAD that those of you above that question her newsworthiness are so empty and coldhearted. 🙁

I always find the comment "I have no idea who this person is – how is this newsworthy?" so strange. There are SO many different interests out there – sports, politics, entertainment, etc. and there are well known people within all of them. Suggesting that we all must know EVERY name of every person who has contributed within each of those areas is ridiculous.

I, personally, know very little about the world of sports, so someone who would be considered a very well known athlete (or agent/manager – in keeping with this story) might be someone I've never heard of before. I still recognize the fact that there are plenty of people who DO know who they are and recognize the loss to their particular industry.....

The ignorance of some people here who decided to spill their awful bitter venom is too much to stand. I bet these people are in some remote US area, ALONE. With absolutely nothing else better to do, they come to blogs and vomit their hatred ill persona. That is a MAJOR reason why the world look at us Americans as arrogant SOB's. But fear not. Not all of us are so bitter with our own lives. All HATERS here should go for a walk and try to be a better person. Go to a movie, make friends, loose some weight, BE HAPPY! The end for you all is both sad and well deserved.

I am disgusted at some of the comments on this page, how would you feel if this were your mother? This is a Blog for starters, hence the blogger can write about anything he/she wishes, if you don't like the content and feel there is more newsworthy things to talk about then start your own blog. I don't care if she was a teacher, mailman, a soldier in Iraq, or a trash collector, everyone deserves respect and apparently she has touched many lives in her career regardless of what you "haters" think of who she represented. My regards go out to her family and friends that are left here mourning the loss of a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and coworker.

Jay, the love affair CNN, MSNBC, and almost every other media outlet had with Obama was extremely bias and unprofessional. Professional Journalism died a long time ago. We are all induced to interpret their opinions as fact and look at the pretty ponies.

Jay, Most people are to stupid or self absorbed to understand the complexities of the world we live in. Your opinion is a reflection of that. This story has legs like you could not imagine which include; murder, drug addiction, and a wonderful talent who's life was cut short. She was well connected in the industry and touched many peoples lives.

JAY, this is the entertainment section. That is why the story is here. She was known in the industry. SO AM I DUMB-ASS.

@unk – You wrote, "People who have never work for her or know her, should not comment at all......"

Are you for real? People shouldn't comment on CNN unless they have firsthand knowledge of the subject.

I"m sorry you have a loss. Perhaps you should deal with your grief elsewhere than the Internet. But that's your decision. My decision is to tell you as a professional that the coverage given this woman's death is another blot on CNN.com's poor editorial judgment.

We're discussing what made news here, not your friend or relative. Frankly anyone who worked or was involved with this person is tremendously biased and really shouldn't be participating in a decision about whether news coverage of her death is balanced.

I think the issue is why the death of other marketers and executives are not covered at this level.

I'm sure those who knew or cared for this woman are grieving, and I'm sorry for your loss. A few thoughts:

    a) I can't speak for others, but I'm reading this because I scan CNN.com's front page expecting news of national or even global importance. I think the editors who bumped the story higher made a terrible call because this is not a *national* story.

    b) It's not a holiday for most of the country or world. When you preface your remarks talking about a religion that much of the country or world does not follow, those who don't share your belief dismiss you. For Christians celebrating Good Friday, do you also demand the same courtesy during Muslim or Buddhist holidays? Why not? And if not, why should people who don't share your faith treat today differently?

    c) For those who keep posting that dissenters shouldn't post because family or friends might be offended, I think many people are simply voicing their displeasure to CNN that the death of an entertainment executive doesn't warrant front page treatment. I'll stand by that statement to anyone.

CNN.com is not a place for the grieving to have an online wake so the argument that they may be offended is silly.

And while this news site continues to accept comments and feedback, I'll state that the story of this woman's death may have merited a brief mention in some entertainment section, but it's not front page news. And unless Madonna is somehow implicated in her death, PR statements from Madonna about this relatively unknown person's death are even less of a story.

Now how is it that just because this person managed a few superstars makes the headlines but you don't hardly hear anything when one of our military personner, Man or woman, Air Force, Navy, Marine, or Army don't get this much attention when they are killed fighting for our freedoms. We might not all agree with the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq but they are still willing to fight and if necessary die because our country's leadership feels we belong there. I find this story so incredibly sad. A wonderful person who gave to so many people. Had a great deal of power, worked extremely hard. Can only handle one client because there is no time for any others. Not when you are repping the #1. So the relationship falls apart (not over personal but $) and she after 15+ years has to deal with losing power, friend and people who did not need anything from her- vanished.
The ugliest thing is she died yesterday, not one word came out, I find it interesting it has taken this long for it to trickle out. Trickle out- there is much more to this story. I found it sad that her former had been out to dinner last night having a good time- if other people knew about C's death – I know her former knew, and was out to dinner w/ Gwen in her leather pants- as the headlines in UK showed pics of her leaving from dinner w/ Madonna, boyfriend & entourage. Very Sad Indeed. I just cannot believe it ended this way. Rest In Peace C.
