10billionth??? That's insane...!!! I use Frostwire...don't have to pay anything really...and it's much better that purchasing a song in itunes...
Who listens to Warrant?
people actually pay for music? pathetic.
One Word. Limewire
Doesn't this old timer know that no one pays for music downloads anymore?
we're all dumbasses for posting on such a lame story lol
.....sounds like Ronnie accesses the internet from the library.
iTunes is awesome.
maybe they should give rewards for the billionth post on some of these dumb ass blogs nobody cares about.
but you'd think the download would've been something more current.
What's next, the guy who had the billionth fry at Mcdonalds?
The cynicism on here is rediculous.
Sweet man gets a sweet reward.
Great that he won, and great that he won with a very fitting song.
Aw, what a cute old man! He's lucky!
Also, @ Erno: Pirate Bay is riddled with viruses and illegal downloads, so– lol. Yeah. Your logic has no stand.
he didnt download 10 billion songs himself dumbass.
Aww I'm so glad it was him, and not the kind of person who goes online just to get the latest Glee Song. Great song, too!
why does an old man need 10 billion songs
That's awesome!
Of course I wish I could have been the lucky individual. Great achievement for Apple. The business is going strong....
iTunes would probably hit 100 billion if they let us non ipod users sync non apple products with the library, like a palm pre or android phone.
lmao... what a guy. I loved the bit where he's sarcastically saying he had his son download the song cause he's a dummy. Strange thing is, I was on the phone with my 30 year old buddy and it took us 20 minutes of me walking him through opening a song into iTunes. Some peeps just smarter than others lol
It's an Itunes gift card, not an apple gift card. He can only use it on Itunes and last I checked they aren't selling Mac's or Ipods on there.
Hey this guy's great...haha. Let's not forget he was once our age too. Just because he's an elder, doesn't mean he doesn't know whats going on.
Yeah, the song that he bought is actually "Train of Love", which is a good song as well. Maybe iTunes has the titles worng.
Who cares...
Ronnie's a special student
so he has spent a billion dollars on itunes???
I'm still awazed at how clueless the general public is regarding Apple and iTunes. $99 for a song is highway robbery, couple that with software that is slow, infects your whole computer, low bitrate and DRM up the butt and you couldn't pay me $10 to download a $1 song from iTunes. My god people are blind and stupid with their money. The problem is consumers don't know any better, they don't even realize there are better MP3 players out there for a fraction of the cost of an ipod. lol
That's really cool! Congrats to him.
There was a contest?
This guy's a fraud. Warrant's "Cherry Pie" was the song downloaded, not a song by this Johnny Cash hack. Who is he again?
Great for the old man , he seems like a nice man. But he's not even a Mac user? He was using that old crusty Windows Based Dell. Amazing how Jobs awards someone a $ 10,000 Mac Gift certificate which is unheard of for Apple to someone who just downloaded Itunes for PC for free.
The Pirate Bay has had way more than 10 billion downloads and nobody even mentions that. Thay now hav 28 million unique users, way more than Itunes, and again and nobody even mentions that.
I doubt however this post will past corporate censorship.
That's what's up. Way to go.........
My nephew opened my eyes about iTunes. The songs are in MP4 format and many players don't accept this format and iTunes won't convert the files. There are many alternative websites that not only sell the songs in MP3, but also don't charge sales tax.
So iTunes blows. 10 BILLION downloads suggests otherwise. You obviously have download envy...
Good for him!
this is great...I am glad someone other than a APPLE head won this contest. You go grandpa, give your grand kids iPODS and Apple Laptops for the holidays this year!
Congrats!!!!!
Ronnie, I don't understand your profound post. Why does "iTunes Blow?" Any relevance to this man winning? You sound very intelligent.
The clip playing during this story is "Train of Love".
That's great for him but I was Apples' Billionth song downloader and I didn't get anything.
The song they play in the background is actually "Train Of Love."
Oh, well... guess things happen that way!
The song they play in this story isn't even Guess Things Happen That Way! This story was poorly produced, not to mention the camera work which is terrible.
Congratulations to this man though!
That was actually a song by Johnny called The train of love. After all these years, he is still the man!
Love or loathe iTunes ( I do) this is one mega prize. Wonder if he fancies sharing it and more importantly does he have enoug disc space on his computer/player etc! Well done.
Cool Story! The song playing in the clip is "Train of Love" by Johnny Cash
I hope Apple gives him a $10,000 visa gift card not just for him to spend at apple. That would suck!
Great story. Nice to hear something NICE once in awhile...we get so jaded with all the ugliness in the world. Rock On Grandpa!!!
I wish I was this guy's grandkid.
That's a great story. There could of not been a better person to win this. I wonder if he is allowed to share it.
LOL – what is he gonna do with the prize?? The prize is a lot of downloads. Good for him!!
FYI, the song playing in the clip doesn't sound like the "Guess Things Happen That Way" that I know.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO iTunes blows!!
