Alice Cooper told CNN backstage that he thought tonight's show has been amazing.

He loved Pink's performance, whom he introduced with Katy Perry. "I watched Pink tonight and thought, 'Would I do that?' She stole the show. The only way I would do that was if I was on fire."

Smokey Robinson took the stage with Usher, Celine Dion, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson during the Grammys tribute to the late Michael Jackson.

"Michael Jackson was the best we've ever seen," Robinson said. "There will never be another Michael Jackson."

Record of the year winners Kings of Leon admitted in during acceptance speech that they were a little drunk. While hanging out with them backstage, CNN could see why - they were passing out celebratory silver flasks to one another.

The alcohol, no doubt, is to help them keep their cool. The musicians said they are "stunned" by the win; record of the year marked their third Grammy win.

Unfortunately, Kings of Leon ended up missing the tribute to Michael Jackson - the one thing they actually wanted to see. Let's hope they have Tivo.

CNN's KJ Matthews caught up with veteran rapper Doug E. Fresh backstage, and he let it drop that Jaime called him to perform "Blame it on the Alcohol" while he was at home watching "Heroes." Needless to say, that phone call took him by surprise.

Despite his influence on hip-hop, Doug said he'd never performed at the Grammys before tonight.

"There is a certain type of feeling you don't get all the time when you listen to most music, but I'm capable of giving you that feeling when you listen to my hip hop music," he said. Colbie Caillat may be known for her laid-back ballads - she won the best pop collaboration with vocals Grammy for her song with Jason Mraz, "Lucky" - but the singer is considering broadening her horizons.

In the backstage press room, Caillat let it drop that she isn't opposed to refining her rhyming skills and dabbling in a little rap one of these days.

She met and performed with rapper Common recently, and they're planning to do an R&B and hip-hop track together soon.
