Lady Gaga will give Haiti a 'Monster' donation testing captions Lady Gaga may be overworked to the point of exhaustion, but that’s not stopping her from committing to help the victims of the 7.0 earthquake that struck Haiti Tuesday. The singer/provocateur performed on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” Friday, and mentioned that proceeds from an upcoming concert would go towards Haiti relief efforts. “Haiti's still suffering,” she told Winfrey. “And I was thinking earlier, because I was in New York during 9/11 and I always felt, the level of disaster isn't in the neighborhood of what is happening in Haiti, but I just remember feeling nobody really understood. And I worry that young people don't know enough about what's going on there.” FULL POST

'Project Runway' makes a promising return testing captions Season 7 of “Project Runway” premiered on Thursday night. The return of the design competition felt a little bit like slipping back into a relationship with an ex-boyfriend. It’s comfortable and predictable, but while you were broken up, he made some new friends and moved to a new neighborhood. After a stint in Los Angeles, the show has moved back to New York City (why they ever left the fashion capital I still don’t know). There are 16 new bright-eyed designers and the week’s challenge was first-episode simple, “Show us who you are as a designer.” Actually, what seems simple is probably the hardest task of all since it translates into “show us why you’re worthy in one outfit in or less.” Reams of fabric were draped all about Central Park forcing the designers to scramble over one another to collect their materials. Jimmy Fallon digs 'Pants on the Ground'
 testing captions If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, “General” Larry Platt is beloved. Video of the Atlanta resident performing his original composition, “Pants on the Ground,” on “American Idol” Wednesday night has not only gone viral, but has also inspired parodies and remixes. Even celebrities have gotten hooked on the infectious tune. Late night TV host and former SNL cast mate Jimmy Fallon performed a Neil Young inspired cover of the song on his show. FULL POST

Haitian hip-hop artist, charity worker found dead after quakeJimmy O, a well-known singer and songwriter in Haiti who also was active in hip-hop artist and philanthropist Wyclef Jean's charity, is dead. Jimmy O, 35, was crushed in a vehicle during the 7.0-magnitude earthquake, apparently while he was driving in downtown Port-au-Prince. CNN was on the scene when his body was discovered Friday. A man examined the body and pulled from one of the victim's pants pocket the artist's passport. CNN saw the document, which verified the man was Jimmy O, whose legal name was Jean Jimmy Alexandre. Kate Gosselin gets her own TV show testing captions It’s official! Kate Gosselin (and her hair!) are getting their own show on TLC. Steve Cheskin, head of programming for the network, announced during a panel at the Television Critics Association that a project is currently in the works. “I can tell you yes, we are developing a new show with Kate,” Cheskin said. Rumors have abounded that the show will feature Kate trying her hand at different jobs, a la Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie in “The Simple Life,” but Cheskin said that the details for the show have yet to be worked out. Last month Kate was spotted with a camera crew serving food at a North Carolina restaurant.

Conan puts 'Tonight Show' up for sale
 testing captions Think you know how to handle a late-night show better than NBC? Conan O'Brien's accepting offers. O'Brien, still installed for the time being as the host of NBC's "The Tonight Show," at 11:35, put his show up for grabs on the Interwebs' favorite site for inexpensive used goods. "While I still can," O'Brien informed his audience last night. "I've decided to sell 'The Tonight Show' on Craigslist. I'm not sure exactly how this works, but while I'm here, I feel like this is the thing to do." FULL POST |
