Let Diddy take the wheel tomorrow night![]() testing captions Make Diddy your designated driver this New Year's Eve. As part of a marketing scheme, Sean Combs and Ciroc vodka have partnered with local taxi and limousine authorities to offer $15 taxi debit cards and one-way subway metrocards in New York City and Las Vegas to ensure folks who drink a little too much of that vodka get home safely. "New York stands as the world's icon for a New Year's Eve celebration and Las Vegas is the biggest party destination in the country," Combs said in a statement. "By bringing this program to both of these great cities we will continue to show the rest of the country that a sophisticated holiday celebration doesn’t end when the ball drops, but when everyone gets home safely.” Street teams will distribute thousands of the debit and MTA cards to adult consumers in New York City between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on New Year's Eve. In Las Vegas, they will distribute pre-paid taxi cards at key venues and high traffic locations. So have fun. Mr. Diddy will make sure you make it home safely. |

Yo, Diddy, feel the love! Hope you can do a similar promotion next year in Philadelphia.
Sweet! Thanks Diddy...even though I won't be in NYC,don't drink vodka or listen to rap music...and although this is a nice gesture...you are in no way the next Sinatra.
That is the most sweetest and noble thing that anyone could do. With someone with alot of money to someone with very little. But for people that are planning to party should already be responsible enough to set aside a fare in the first place.
While I commend this campaign and think it is wonderful, I have to ask everyone posting on here: Do you guys really think that this is "diddy"'s doing? The Vodka company obviously already has a contract with this guy. Some (very smart and responsible) person at the Vodka company came up wit this great idea. The company got the 'celebrity' they have on contract to announce the campaign. How are 90% of you acting like "diddy" is some brilliant humanitarian that came up with and supported this whole idea. I am not saying he isn't smart (I am sure he is very intelligent), but this is like saying "Charlie Sheen and Michael Jordan are GENIUSES for coming up with this new design for my Haynes underwear!"
Why must people always complain or be negative? Yes, it would be nice if people did not drink yet they do so why not offer a helpful alternative that benefits ALL of us, drinker & non-drinkers, alike. I stay in on NYE because of the drinkers who are going to get behind the wheel stupidly. At least NY & Vegas will be a little safer come NYE & NY Day. I wish the self righteous would get over themselves... NOW!!!
It'll be a GREAT day when people come up with an idea to have a party that does NOT involve drinking, this would eliminate the need for designated drivers altogether...and all that money spent on alcohol could be used to solve WORLD HUNGER instead...imagine THAT!!! I appreciate Diddy's gesture, but I wish that money were put to better use towards people who were more responsible... this only encourages people to drink till their livers are thoroughly boiled cuz Diddy's giving them a ride home!!!
Like "LA" said... What about Los Angeles? Oh wait... we have a laughable mass transit system and non of the cabbies would take this, they all want cash on a night like NYE. Good looking out though. Nice Marketing too.
What? No love for LA?
While i will NOT watch the show, i can see why any concerned adult with common sense should speak up against this show, while the rest of us have a mind that tells us this is a stupid immoral show whethet cast is from jersey shore or not, please think about a young child at home whose parents are perhaps at that point in time not monitoring what they are watching or parents who just dont care, yet Jersey Shore gives them a cool 30 minutes of immoral, highly sexualy and for lack of better words pure stupidty, now this kid doesnt know any better, just think the impact this shore will have on this child. MTV please stop ruining young minds who sadly enough are your biggest audience, you can educate them vs. corrupt them, kids can be entertained by shows that are not necessarily this vulgar, unethical and dirty.
Ahahahaha....YOU GO MR. COMBS! JB and GW....it may be bugs on the both of your mugs, but it ain't no bugs on DIDDY!!!! LMAO.....Diddy always always always...get one good healthy laugh at your haters!!! Hahahaha
where are the locations that they are being passed out in NYC? good work diddy! drunk driving is awful, way too many people get away with it!
What happened to personal responsibility? Now we need a "celebrity" to buy taxi/sub tickets. Please give me a break! Act responsibility! Be an adult and buy your own sub ticket/taxi ride home. We've turned into a society of inmature kids in adult bodies.
Diddy is doing the darned thing!
Nice! Hate him or love him, a lot of people look up to this guy and he's teaching all of them about drinking responsibly. I can't be mad at that. Good job Diddy.
Now Now,
Way to do Diddy!!!!!!!!!!! my co-worker and I was discussing this DUI stuff early on our carpool commute this morning. I had a brother to be killed by a Drunk Driver AND her son was killed by a Drunk Driver, the individuals responsible are enjoying their lives like nothing has ever happened. Our families lives are changed Eternally. Drunk Drivers Kill !!! We both drink socially. WE have a problem with the ones that get behind the wheel. I don't care who steps up to help as long as someone steps up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah, GW , JB tell that to my MOM who got her head out cracked by a windshield after riding with a Drunk Driver. This isn't about Diddy or the advertising, it's about the problem with people getting behind the wheel. (I can't believe that people like you two exist) But then I can look at how messed up our economy is. ( Diddy is a business person) Just because he does it, does not mean that people are going to drink that particular kind of beverage!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy New Year!! to all
That's a fine gesture Mr Diddy! I wish I was in NY this New Years Eve. Maybe Diddy if you are reading this you can send for me and I can help pass out the cards u know. I can also promote Ciroc and Dirty Money in the process. Holla at you boy
Not a fan of Diddy at all! But this was definitely a great idea. He's possibly saved some lives by doing this. Good work Mr. Coombs.
I am not the slightest bit a fan of Diddy or his music, but this is a very good message, and regardless of your personal feelings towards Diddy personally, it deserves kudos. Well done mr Puffy. If only we could eliminate morons like JB & GW from this earth, New Years Eve should be a great one.
I think it is wonderful when celebrities use there popularity toward the "Greater Good" and give back to the community.
Great Job Diddy!
That's the way to bring in the new year – good looking out Diddy!! Ignore the haters (aka "GW" and "JB").
If Diddy's not the New Sinatra, who is?
I'm not sure why there are really any negative posts on this topic? Regardless of who's endorsing this idea is it not a step in the right direction?
to the one who said "Who Cares" obviously you don't and he does – don't be a hater drink Ciroc and be a congradulator LOL
Great Idea!!!
Don't really care for Sean or his music, but THANK YOU for doing your best to help people not drive while they are drunk. My grandfather was murdered by a drunk driver. Thank you Sean....I wouldn't wish what happened to my grandfather to happen to anyone!
Now if only he hadn't shot Tupac....
Good lookin out Diddy
Good for you Diddy, at least we have one rich person doing something positive with their money
I think it's a great idea, even if it is just for publicity. This is a stunt that will actually do good too. If every celeb that pushed booze did this it would send a great message. Props to Diddy!

Naaaaaaaaaaa Hey They POST ALL THE DUI CHECKPOINTS for all the DRUNKS so WHY BOTHER,Just dont get caught smoking a CIGARETTE
GW...is that you Mr. Bush? yes. you are a hater. envy, jealousy. call it what you want. mr combs is a success story. and i doubt he needs your 2 cents to make his next million. and yes. brilliant. a great service to the community to possibly save lives and ensure a more safe, enjoyable new years celebration.
What a great excample Mr. coombs
Pretty Classy, smart, but very classy.
GW and JB ...Hate does not look good on you guys so why continue to wear it? Way to go Diddy, try to make a difference.
Who cares. Tired of this guy showing how much of "the man" he is. Go away Diddy... leave pop culture now.
Kudos...to Diddy.... Great works bring Great Blessings
this is great!
I think this is great. Marketing scheme or not, he's sending the right message, which is rarely promoted anymore.
Good on ya Mr. Combs
GW's a HATER!!!! Do ya thing Diddy!!!!
GW- Jealous much?
GW your comments make no sense. Can you think of another way to help saves lives on new years eve?
This guy is a clown. His ads for Ciroc make me laugh. He thinks he is some type of Sinatra or some other member of the rat pack. He has no class.
what an awesome idea, you go Diddy !!!
What a wonderful idea – Kudos to Diddy and Ciroc
Great! No if only he could give discount cards to one of his New Year's Eve parties!!!!
Yeah Diddy!!!!!
Great.
Cool Diddy, good lookin' out.
