Golden Globes: five to "Nine"It turns out five is the magic number for "Nine" director Rob Marshall. His big-budget, big-set, big-cast musical earned nods for best original song, best supporting actress in a musical or comedy for Penelope Cruz, best actress in a musical or comedy for Marion Cotillard, best actor in a musical or comedy for Daniel Day-Lewis, and best director for Marshall. Here's what the director and the star had to say in reaction to their honors: "We're so thrilled to be included in such a varied and exciting year for film. I am incredibly proud of this extraordinary cast and the amazing amount of dedication and passion they gave. Working with all of them was pure joy for me." – Rob Marshall "A hearty thank you to the members of the HFPA. I am delighted and very grateful to be included. Congratulations to all fellow nominees and eternal thanks to Rob Marshall." – Daniel Day-Lewis |
