Jon Gosselin tries to shut down "Jon & Kate"!Jon Gosselin has had it, and he isn't going to take it anymore! Jon just sent a cease and desist order to TLC demanding it stop production of the show and leave his property. This comes just two days after TLC announced the show was being renamed “Kate Plus 8” and Jon filed papers halting his divorce proceedings. Showbiz Tonight just received this statement from TLC: “We are aware of Jon Gosselin's recent statements, and remain deeply disappointed at his continued erratic behavior. He and the family were shooting as recently as last Friday, without incident, and his latest comments are grossly inaccurate, without merit and are clearly opportunistic. Despite Jon Gosselin's repeated self destructive and unprofessional actions, he remains under an exclusive contract with TLC. Jon... rhymes with MORON... no coincidence there! Early on people could almost say, "poor Jon, Kate was so controlling, no wonder he was unhappy". But Jon's quickly revealed himself to be a JERK, while Kate has displayed the upmost level of CLASS throughout this whole ordeal. Jon is having an early mid-life crisis, hence the womanizing, and he's only concerned with getting back at everyone, hence the crap he's trying to pull with yanking the kids off the show. He still doesn't have his stuff together and still looks like an idiot. Why would TLC want to support him when he's carrying himself so poorly? Kate, you're so much better off without this idiot! Kudos to you for taking the high road and staying focused on earning a living and on your children rather than being out partying it up like Jon is. Jon, grow the *bleep* up!!!

I do not see how filming the family maybe once a week is harming the children. They get to do fun things with their mother. She plans special events with her kids. I only wish I had the free time (and money) to do all of the things she does with her kids. I have several children and cannot imagine how much more money it takes to raise EIGHT kids! The kids clearly are loved, fed well, receive excellent medical care (by evidence of episodes showing dental visits, etc.) . So what if this is a job to support the family. Where else could they make the kind of money it takes to support a family of this size.
If Jon would not have acted like such a whining parent all the time, then Kate would not have had to be so snappy to him. I don't know anyone who is gitty happy 24 hours a day. Let's be real. What couple doesn't argue and bicker about many issues. Just most people you don't hear about because they aren't on tv. People are used to seeing the children and are genuinely interested in seeing how a family this size functions. Let Kate film without Jon and don't watch if you are Kate or Jon haters.

The kids have money put up for them and Jon and Kate have their sports car and clothes and hve rubbed elbows with thr rich and famous. The kids won't remember half of wht they did do Jon and kate should shut down the production of their lives and get back to living. I was 1 of eight. My parents both worked as we got older we got part time jobs to buy our first car, we watched the other kids, we had a babysitter that stayed with us after school till one parent got off work. Hey I even heard that nurses and IT guys could work something other that 9-5.
The editing of the show now shows a kinder gentler kate...I don't believe it for a minute.
This is unreal I am so disappointed in TLC for even keeping the show on the air. It has been proven that the whole last year of the show was all for show,not a bit of truth in any word that Jon or Kate says. The renewing thier vows was all for the show and the money, PULL THE PLUG TLC!!!!!

What was the car he just bought that he said he would need for winter in PA. That's a joke too, I'm from Pa and I know that corner of the state doesn't get enough snow that a good front wheel or all wheel drive car wouldn't get him where he's going safely. You know maybe a nice Chevy Tahoe, or a Ford Escape, since they won't all fit in the new vehicle these might be better.

If you watched LKL last night they actually show a clip of Jon making this big long speech to the papi cameras while he sits in his car only a COUPLE OF MONTHS ago , about how the TLC cameras aren't bad for the children and they're used to them, they're even GOOD for the kids. Now that he's realized that he's not needed to make the show he cries foul. Since the beginning of this mess I do not believe he has at one time had the benefit of the children in mind. Not once. Esp when he's out bedding anything that glances his way. He needs this show in order to maintain his lifestyle of taking "the love of his life" to France, buying her jewelry hanging out w/Christian Audgier (or whatever his name is) AND now Lindsay Lohan's dad, plus having his NY apartment. PUHLEASE he is clearly a publicity hound, wants the attention and the money all for himself. I hope the UNEMPLOYED father of 8 finds a job and supports them now that's he's trying to take the only source of income for the kids away since he can no longer have his way. Grow up, indeed.
Jon seems determined to self distruct and to take everyone with him! I can't understand why Jon thinks he can say one thing one mintue then turn around and completely contradict himself the next. Apparently Kate has a better PR person then Jon does! Kate watches what she says, makes sure it can't come back to bite her in the ass later, BUT Jon just says whatever whenever it sutes his situation and doesn't care if it will harm him later. I saw Jon Gosselin on Larry King and could not get over his narcissistic attitude. He said "I want" over and over again, actually causing me to lose count of the number of times he used the "I" word. I'm not a fan of reality shows, so I had never heard of Jon & Kate plus 8 until this started. Neither of these people would be my choice for parents of the year but he is absolutely disgusting. He has told so many lies about his affairs and now his behaviors are coming back at him so he accuses everyone else of lying. Jon Gosselin is nothing but a parasite and Kate plus 8 is better off without him.
I don't have a problem with him calling halt to the show. What I think is telling is that he waited until he was kicked off to do it. What is the motivation behind the halt – it must be crystal clear to any one with a brain. It's the old – if I can't play, I am taking my ball and going home.

Hi...I have a comment about everything that has been said between the lawyer of kate and jon.
I too comes from a split family and the judges decision of the childrens best interests is to keep the children out of the disscusion and expose them of what is going on between two adults.
For Kate to keep filming at a time like this can be detrimental. For the children may not witness what is giong on now...but one day they will grow up and realize that " hey, why would our parents go so public about such a tragic time in our families lives" that TLC as well as the tabloids/ poparazi should have some consideration and just voluntarly put the show on hold until everything is finalized. To put the children first the parents have to stop going public about everything that is going on. All our children are affected with what goes on in their family life. If they aren't feeling anything now...some time in the future long term issues will arise. So even know some of Jons statements aren't very clear to me.... at some point he is correct I feel. The older twins are old enough to read and to see their father being bashed at can hurt or confuse the children. Understanding it will be a long tough process for the children. Please I say....put everything on hold.

I didn't realize just how Mean and Spitful Jon really was until I saw him on Larry King...Jon need Mental Help...He pulled the plug on a show that was supporting his lazy Butt. and feeding his kids....Kate will move on...She will get another show..but Jon's days are numbered...Now he has to find a job...What a dumb Move on his part!

What a bunch of busybodies! Who cares about Kate and Jon? The only important ones are the children. The state should take custody of them to save them from their greedy, immature, emotionally unstable parents. Jeeesh!
Unfortunately I will admit and won't deny the fact that Kate herself was very hard on John, but even so, It doesn't necessarily give him the right to despise her. After all she is the mother of his children.
I find it very interesting due to the fact that John Gosselin is now deciding to halt the show, especially after tarnishing his image. If he honestly assumes by stopping post production is going to make him a better parent, he's highly mistaken.
Theirs so much "Pro's and Con's" to the show that we must all take into consideration. If John and Kate plus 8 does stop airing, who will provide for the children? Especially in economic times? From my personal perspective, both parents are at fault for separation and the show.
Due to John's and Kate's lack of communication, it has caused so many problematic issues within there family. It's quite disappointing that both parent's have their mind wrapped around "Money"

I think it is sad that the children are in the middle of all this mess. i think Kate is thinking only of herself now that she has had a taste of fame. I'm with Jon and think that the show should be stopped due to all the media , the children surley are unable to have a normal live.

What about the rights of the father? Can Kate get away with continuing to "exploit" these kids even if Jon says enough with the show? This is similar to the case in which the American father who is jailed for trying to rescue his kids in Japan because his bonehead wife took them back to her Country when she didn't have custody. Jon says enough is enough with this entire circus, and I think for the sake of everyone involved, the show should stop and let this family deal with everything privately. And let these kids grow up normally. Jon and Kate can go back to their original occupations and support these kids fine.

Then there was the earthquake in Indonesia that killed...what was it....oh yeah 1100 PEOPLE!!!! Did anyone on here read the article about the almost 70 unclaimed bodies in the Detroit morgue that nobody, including the city, can afford to bury? Is this what we have been reduced to? Arguing over some douchebag (Jon or Kate – take your pick) and a reality show about their life? I don't recall this much discussion and debate going on in my own house when my parent's got divorced. Not even amongst each other.

there is another family show on TLC that is far from being 'as crazy' as the Gosselins. The Duggards or something. They seem to have some sort of religion in that house which makes things work for them. I've never once seen Jon and Kate speak or take their kids to a house of worship. And we all know that some sort of morals is needed in order to keep a marriage together and raise a family.
What does it mean that 'Jon filed papers halting his divorce proceedings'? Why would he do that?
Jon is such a tool, duch bag, whatever you wanna cal him. I meanits one thing to not want to be with your wife anymore, but do you have to go on national tv andbash her? I can not belive he is saying kate wants to exploit her kids for a coupel of bucks. Has he not benifited from the money fromthe show. One more thing, why would you ever say I love haley more than i ever loved kate????? his kids are gonna one day see that and be upset. he needs to keep his big mouth shut!!
And for those of you decrying that he's taking away Kate's only means of supporting the kids, let me remind you that before they chose to jump into the media fishbowl, she was a registered nurse and he was an IT tech – not exactly minimum-wage jobs. If they ever chose to wisely invest the money they made off the show and rejoin reality with normal jobs, I'm certain they'd be just fine.
John needs to burn his Ed Hardy shirts and rechannel his midlife crisis into something a bit more age-appropriate than 23-year old blondes and Kate needs to get off her high horse and stop being the media martyr. They both are slinging mud and clearly don't give a damn who gets caught in the crossfire – mainly their kids.

It is really sad that a man who has gone trough so much trouble with his wife to have children and a big family, has so little regard for family values. I have seen the show here and even if I don't really agree with putting young children in front of a camera the way that it's done here, it is really sad to see a grown man act more childish than his kids are.

Sad, this whole show use to be cute, but greed, immaturity, selfishness, has raised its head. Now who is the kids or kid? My niece who loves this show, I hope has quit, this will teach her how not to learn lifes lessons, how not to make a marriage work. How not to exploit any children. Both parents get a true job. Get out of the papers I call rags, quit using the media for both of your personal gains. That was the last when Jon pulled the parental rights card. TLC pull the show, this is too much for eight little children in PA.

If Kate didn't tell Jon what to do he would have stood there like a "lame fish". The man can't speak or think for himself. That's not Kate's fault. He changes his mind daily. All this filming was never a problem until he wanted out of the contract. I know Kate will be fine, she's a natural. I'm going to miss seeing those adorable kids. When everyone used to feel bad for Jon because of Kate's "bitchiness" I always said that she had to be a bitch or else Jon would be standing around doing nothing. Seriously, she HAD to tell him to get the kids dressed. After 4 years with 8 kids wouldn't you constantly be trying to help without having to be told. Any mom of 8 kids would be bitching with a father like him. And now look what he's done with his life. The only reason he seemed like a decent dad was because he had Kate constantly reminding him what a good dad does.
Jon wants the children on HIS reality show Divorced Dads and he can't because of the contract with TLC. He wants completely out of the TLC contract because he wants that new show of his. He also wants the kids to get paid but guess who that will go to. He only will get paid by TLC for his limited appearances per episode so thus his income goes way down. No more women, no more million dollar bachelor pad and boy will the women run away from him. Jon has stopped the production crew from TLC to force their hand to let him out of the contract so he doesn't have to stay exclusive with him. He flat out lied yesterday and it was only a publicity stunt until the legal papers could be presented. He doesn't care about Kate OR his children, only himself. Jon can't have this Divorced Dads he wants to star in without having the children on there ever so he is manipulating so the children gets paid for their appearances but he is "guardian" of the money. Unless he tries and nullify the TLC contract he is dead in the water with all his grand schemes.
Again celebrities (or so called celebrities) think that they are above morals, and just plain common sense. Jon you should be happy that TLC brought you and your family as much money as they have and you only have your self to blame.
So this is what I think growing up and living in PA all my life, I think that this is the biggest drama I have ever witnessed!! John needs to grow the heck up and kate needs to stop being such a drama queen. I feel so bad for the kids. I know that they are little and don't understand it all but they have to know something is going on and it has to be hard on them. They say all the time this is for our kids but is it really? I think it's all about you two!! So if this is for the kids you will stop the show let them live their lives and try and re patch ur life.

His children have been supportig him via this TV show. Now that he is off, he will have to find a job and be self supporting. He is the one who left home and has found another female. Kate is still in the home with the children.
Jon has every right to be involved in the show if it includes his children. Why shouldn't he? The production company is all of a sudden trying to treat Jon like an outsider in something he was involved in from the start. What do you expect? People should make money off of his children with the show, but he shouldn't share in that?
I'm sure TLC thinks they are the hero's who gave this family everything they could have ever dreamed of and now Jon is acting up.... ooh, how dare he? Remember, Jon and Kate and their children have also given TLC something great. That family earned it and Jon is included in that family... divorced or not, they are also his children and he also still takes care of them.
In sitcoms, sci-fi, comedy and other shows, you can create characters and you can write off characters. You can try and spin it anyway you want to, but you just can't write off Jon and alienate him from his children using the show. It is his family.

It is just too bad that TLC has trucks of cash from the show ESPECIALLY with all this "added drama" What happened to the show being about the kids? My four year old just loves the show and I refuse to let her watch it anymore. I really lost respect for these people when they, on one show, acutally taped over their kids personalize bookpacks as they were afraid the public would call out their name and they kids would run to them. HELLO NUT JOB: you are on TV, my four year old knows your kids names!!

Don't believe the hype people. TLC is simply trying to revive interest and ratings for the show. Why would anyone be interested in a continuance of this farce? Doesn't anyone remember them renewing their vows in Hawaii last season when "in reality," they hadn't lived under the same roof for more than a year? They both share responsibility for the failure of this marriage. As a previous writer stated, Kate is just better at playing the victim and being the martyr!
The only people watching this show, and others like it, are morons. TLC is no longer "The Learning Channel"; they've stooped to new lows. I don't watch this show or shows like it, and if TLC continues down this road, I won't be watching anything else they put on the air. TLC needs to dump these losers and concentrate on smart, intelligent programming like they used to.

I applaud Jon for leaving Kate, however; his behavior since the separation has been very selfish. Flaunting around with another woman (his wife's doctor's daughter), speaking publicly abouthhe despise the mother of his children, showing abslutely no remorse for Kate or his kids. Kate is not the victim, however, she has maintained dignity and handled herself very well through out this ordeal. Jon did NOT cancel the show for his kids' sake he canceled the show because he got kicked off. He's prolonging the divorce just to see if he can get some more gravy off the train before it leaves the station.

Jon & Kate's kids shouldn't be living their lives on TV, but Jon did NOT have the cease and desist order sent to TLC to protect his children. Without a doubt, Jon thinks only of himself, and is only interested in stopping the filming because he's been mostly cut out of it and TLC has renamed the show "Kate plus 8". As humans, we worry about our own presence. That is what makes reality shows work in this day and age. The drama and hook-ups are what producers make the shows about because we have repeatedly told them that this is what we like to watch! So don't start bad-mouthing it now.
I do think, however, that the show should be cancelled for the kid's sake. We can already start to see how Maddy and Cara are acting out, so just think about the other younger 6 ones.

None of us know these people. How can we have such critical things to say? None of us know everything that happened between them. Each has their stories. We all saw Kate pretty much verbally abuse Jon on TV. And now Jon is having a meltdown of sorts. Could he be handling it better? Of course! Despite how she may have treated Jon in the past, I think Kate is handling the divorce with dignity. HOWEVER, I do think it is in the best interest of the children to get them off of TV. I think it was great when they were babies/toddlers, but now that they are aware of the cameras and fame and money...it can only end badly for most if not all of them if they continue in the limelight as they are. Divorce is tough, even in private. They both would be far better off as would the children if they gutted each other privately. I for one have never seen any children raised on TV who weren't messed up throughout most of their lives. I'm a real big fan of the show, but it's entertaining to watch the family squabbles. I feel for the kids but I think kate is the stronger parent,so jon have fun with the young girls, because when the chid support hits the fun is over.
I think that it's time for this show to simply go off the air. I think these people have had their 15 minutes of fame and should give it up. Reality television is bad at the best of times, but this is ridiculous. How ugly for the children to have every little aspect of their young lives played out to millions of people, and on top of that to televise the break up of their parents and all that that entails. I think this kind of exploitation is criminal and these kinds of shows should be taken off the air. Reality programming proves, that if we are bored enough, we will watch anything and that's all, and shame on us. What we need is "good programming", good writing, we need "art" to re-enter into our entertainment. Television shouldn't continue to keep trolling the lowest possible denominator for ideas. I think that some people need a reality check. Kate is the primary bread winner in this house, and the move to have him terminated will play poorly in the court, as it will show that the network is further relegating the father (who has joint custody of the children and joint ownership of the home). Therefore, he will be able to pull a major cash settlement, be the likely recipient of palimony from Kate, and still possibly be the primary custodian of the children if the court rules that Kate is working with the network to disparage John and putting the children's mental condition below her own ambitions.
Divorce is a dirty thing, but thanks to gender equity, the payments and custody go both ways (i.e. the woman does not always get the children, child support and alimony).

Wow – I must say I do love the hypocrites responding on this page. Just a few months ago everyone was applauding Jon for leaving a relationship where he was constantly being bullied by Kate. The best thing he could do for those children is to get them away from the television camera. These kids are being raised to think their entire existence is to be the center of attention. It is more important for them to have normal lives, even if it means pennies are pinched, than the affluent "on camera" lives. Jon is a little late with this realization, but I think it is a good thing. And face it, Kate can always pursue her television career, if she has one without the children.

You know I use to feel sorry for him in the early shows but, he is obviously a jerk. He really needs to grow up and it shows which one really wanted the fame. If he can't have it then no one will. What a freaking baby. Go take care of the love of your life as you put it and move on.

Cancel this show, cancel it now, destroy all existing prints of previous episodes and permanently remove it from syndication. Maybe then these kids might have a shot of normal life. Personally, I'd like to see both parents charged with child abuse.
Wow- what a jerk.... Jon has no one to blame but himself, his behavior and the endless stream of girls got him kicked off a show that has always been marketed as a "family" show. What a great dad he turned out to be, how could he do this to his kids. Someday they will see all this and know the things their dad has done. He reminds me of the father of the Dionne Quints, only interested in the kids as long as they are making him money. Whose going to support his reckless lifestyle now?
Oh, so now your going to get back at Kate by taking away Kates only source of income! So, are you prepared to pay enuff child support to maintain their way of life?

Wow! Why didn't Jon decided to end the show before he and Kate announced they are getting a divorce. All this time, they kept saying that they were keeping the show on the air "for the kids", but now that TLC decided to fire Jon, only then he says the show is bad for the kids. Maybe we should put this family and their show out of their misery.

I have to applaud these moves by Jon. His legal team has taken the appropriate actions to shut down the production of the show. This may be either a temporary shutdown or a long term shutdown dependent on how long the ensuing legal battle last between Kate and Jon. The fate of the show Jon and Kate Plus 8 now lies in the courts hands.
Also, by supporting the show this far it was inevitable that TLC and the shows producers would be pulled into this legal matter.
