Kanye West, how dare you ruin Taylor Swift's moment to shine!Do you remember when you were a kid? Do you remember what your wildest dream was? Were you an athlete, a singer, a dancer, an actor? There was some sort of award that went with it I am sure- something that signified the pinnacle of success, whether it be a Heisman trophy, the Stanley Cup, a Grammy, an Oscar, or even an MTV Video Music Award.  I vividly remember being a little girl and standing in my room practicing my speech- it was for a different award every time, sometimes for a Grammy (which trust me, I was never going to win), an Emmy or an Oscar. First, let me set the scene: I would pull back my hair, put on way too much makeup, and drape a sheet over me pretending it was a gown and stand in front of my mirror. The speech always went something like this; “This is a dream come true for me! I am trying to keep it together and not cry (meanwhile I would try to work up a tear). I want to thank my family for their constant support. I never would have thought that I would have so much success at such a young age. Thank you to all my fans.” I will spare you the rest, but keep in mind, I was young so be kind with your comments on my lack of originality. I am pretty sure that even though many of you may not admit it, you did the same. Well imagine that against all odds- absolutely impossible odds, you achieved immense success. Say you became a huge country star by the age of 16 and crossed over to pop music, becoming a superstar by 19. You are not only nominated, but invited to perform at the “cool kids” party of the year- the MTV VMA’s. Everyone knows that while other awards equal prestige, the “Moonmen” that MTV gives out at the VMA’s are an artists ticket into another level of the fame stratosphere. Last night Taylor Swift should have been able to live out that moment that I know I dreamed of when I was a little girl. She stood on the stage at Radio City Music Hall with her hair pulled back, wearing just the right amount of makeup, draped in a gorgeous, perfect dress and stood poised to make what I am sure would have been a touching speech from a deserving teenager. Then, Kanye West, after sauntering down the red carpet swigging Hennessy, stormed the stage and ruined this poor young girl’s shining moment. Shame on you Kanye, shame on you. The same action and reason KW was at the star studded fund raising telethon for victims of Katrina a few years ago, he went off about white people not caring about the blacks in New Orleans.
Many white , black, etc people ran to help the white, black , asian, latin people of New Orleans.
Many drove states away to drive truck loads of food and water.
The bottom line is it ate him up that a white girl (Taylor) was being recognized!
He has acted out in other ways, but always it's about white people.
It's all about the white race.

It could have been absence of quick thinking because everyone became shocked by KW's gross rudeness.
But the least MTV could have done was to announce immediately after KW's obnoxious behavior that such prejudistic attack is abhorred and not tolerated at all. MTV's silence at that time may embolden future moronic stage-crashers.
I hope MTV and its colleagues map out preventions and penalties of such outrageous behaviors.
Children and the world are watching big American shows because it's one of the world's "role models" so please let's go back to demonstrating goodwill and good breeding.
I have to ask a question..............why did he do that? What is the basic motivation behind him doing what he did?
Why didn't the presnters or anyone come to Taylors rescue and take the mike away from Kanye? That would have shown class on their part and Taylor deserved it.

Melo, I don't care what he wrote, and I actaully don't think it was racialy motivated. I'm actually making a point that we don't need to be jumping to conclussions and calling for someones head on a platter evertime something happens that involves more than one race. To the comment made by John on Sept 14th, Kanye West does more than rhyme words, bud. The guy produced many of Jay-Z's records, as well as his own. It takes a tremendous amount of talent and expertise to make several chart-topping albums. Sorry, but DO YOUR RESEARCH before you comment.
Aside from that, he really messed up in a big way by pulling that stunt on Taylor Swift. Anyone who sits and defends his actions as "not a big deal" or "a joke" really needs to reevaluate their own morals and values. As for MTV needing to get some class, well, until someone cleans house in their upper management, that will NEVER happen, no matter how much anyone wishes they would. Sorry but MTV, it's viewers, and modern pop culture are all a lost cause.

What no one seems to be talking about is that Kanye West obviously has a drinking problem. Would he have gone up on stage if he hadn’t been walking around swigging a bottle of cognac all evening? Maybe not. The last time he did the same in Europe, he blamed the bottle. Yes he’s obnoxious and rude and self-centered, even narcissistic and he should have some severe consequences for his behavior but absolutely no question that he’s an active addict. What does it take for someone to intervene on his using before it’s too late? When does the media start calling a spade a spade?
Maybe it is time time to connsider banning Kanye West from any live telecasts. I don't care what race he is, he obviously doesn't know how to behave at these functions, and I'm sure Taylor is soo glad that that video is going to follow her around for the rest of career. He does however, know how to play the race card himself. Save your comments and bitterness when you are miles away from the award show and in your hotel room. There is so much violence erupting against women in the last few years. Everyone should be accountable for their actions, just because a person is famous does not make them impervious to any reprimand. That discusting display of a cowardly man is so typical of Kanye West's behavior, the type that had a rough upbringing, and is acting out as an adult. This is a huge problem in our society today. Unfortunatley, all the young men who listen to Kanye West's music and look to him as a role model, will think it's okay to perpetuate this behavior that leads to more violent behavior,because there is no seriuos consequences.
Such as in Rhianna's situation with Chris Brown. Community service!!! That's a joke, any one else, would have gotten some jail time. The entertainment industry should have some sort of an accountability procedure put into place, these men who can't find some other outlet to unleash their anger, they feel it nessesary to belittle women weather it be physical abuse, or abusive speech, shoul face serious consequences. Parents don't allow your children to listen to music, watch videos, or read harmful content that contributes to violence. Women need to watch out for these self absorbed, narcissistic, men. Almost always they have addiction problems, and then you are putting yourself in harms way. Many more stars have this problem, something needs to be done to reprimand these people. We are seeing to many cases of violence against women, in and out of entertainment.

It is time to be genuinely contrite and humble – and to quit drinking. You need to atone and acknowledge that your ego has now gotten in the way of continued success. Hey, grant5000x, it didn't win video of the year, it won for best female video. Pay attention. The fans voted and she won. What Kanye did was in poor taste and very rude and disrespectful. Props to Taylor for holding it together and to Beyonce for being so gracious to allow Taylor her moment.

I have never liked Kanye's music and am applaud by his behavior in the past, but his recent antics at the MTV Music Awards takes the cake. He disrespected the MTV award ceremony; the music industry; put Beyonce in an uncomfortable position; made a complete ASS out of himself; and most importantly badly disrespected Taylor Swift. As an African American I am ashammed to have him as apart of my race. The only solution is for MTV to ban him from attending or performing at future award ceremonies.

It was an example of bad taste. I'm not a Taylor Swift fan, nor am I big on Country music, but if the people voted her video to win, then she deserves all the accolades, and deserved her moment to thank those who helped make it possible. I felt horrible for Taylor as she stood, stunned by what happened. Kanye West needs to just fade into obscurity. Kudos to Beyonce for inviting Taylor onstage to finish her acceptance. Beyonce exhibited class. I'm going to check out the winning video, and I am sure I will enjoy it even more now.

Taylor Swift certainly isn't the culture of MTV today, which is a shame because MTV could use some class an culture. Beyonce is real class and Taylor would have been a great addition to that small MTV podium but something tells me she might not be interested any more. Kanye West is a racist bully. A few years ago he stated that "President Bush hates black people". This year, he feels that a black woman has a much better video than the white teenager. Had this been a white person protesting the black person's win, the word "racist" would be spoken and written so many times on the news, that if we got a dollar for every time it was mentioned, we could eradicate our national debt.

But to be honest what do we expect these people do not get popular because they are smart, classy, or because they are just good people. Often times, and last night was an example, we find that clebs although talened within the realm of music they are not so gifted when it comes down to being a good person, which in the end of life is all that really matters. Just imagine what the tribute to KW will look like when he eventually dies. I doubt anyone will miss his humanity, compassion, or his humility.

I myself had done the exact same thing as a child pretending to win an Oscar. It's such a shame when that moment did come true for Taylor that it was taken away from her by an egotistical jerk. She kept her composure and has been very gracious about it. I applaud Beyonce for giving her the opportunity to finish her speech.
Considering that the only talent that Kanye has is being able to rhyme words together, a talent most of us learned in first grade in my generation, he has a lot of nerve to able to diss Taylor Swift that way. She is an incredible talent with a wonderful voice and creates very memorable stories in her songs. The public, not Kanye, voted for her to win the award. So what is next for him?
