Lindsay Lohan gets a job

It seemed for awhile that people were loathe to hire Lindsay Lohan. Her exploits have been well documented. In this business, if you can't complete the job you were hired to do, then people move on, no matter how popular you may have been.

There's no doubt, Lohan was on a hot streak for awhile. Her first film role was 1998's "The Parent Trap," she was lauded for her role in "Mean Girls," and also starred in "Freaky Friday" and "Herbie: Fully Loaded." Several years ago, "fully loaded" took on a whole different meaning when she was busted for DUIs and subsequently hit rehab.

But perhaps Lindsay Lohan isn't quite finished. Today, there's news that she's been hired. A position has been created for her at the House of Ungaro. The title?  Artistic advisor. You may wonder what exactly an artistic advisor does. According to Ungaro,  Lohan is "collaborating on the Spring/Summer 2010 runway collection unveiling on October 4, 2009 during Paris Fashion Week."  She'll be working with newly named Chief Designer Estrella Archs.

Mounir Moufarrige, the President of Emanuel Ungaro worldwide, says  “Mr. Ungaro’s success was based on his genius for design and his controversial eye to whom his consumer was.  Lindsay is a world consumer with a clear eye for fashion.”

Lohan is no stranger to fashion, having launched a line of leggings, but do you think she's ready for the fashion big time?

If someone will give that dog-killing a-hole Michael Vick a chance, then certainly Lindsay can have one. Expectations are low, though. For both of them.

Anything that gives her occupation and perhaps responsibility is probably a good thing for Lindsey at this point. You don't rehab without learning that your behavior has consequences. If she can prove herself to be sober and responsible, she could actually revive her acting career and grow up.

Scott, thanks for reminding many that others have messed up as badly or even worse than Lindsey, and turned their lives around again to do good work.

A LINE OF LEGGINGS? Wow, I was wearing those in the 1980's when I went clubbing! Her fashion sense is TERRIBLE. She dresses in these thin rags (like the ones sold at Target) and she is a drug addict and alcoholic. She is also not a good singer or actress. Boy, how we look up to these celebrities who do bad things and sometimes are bad people too. I will not buy anything she has created!

I am only wondering why we should care. Isn't that up to the people running Emanuel Ungaro worldwide? I am surprised that this is even newsworthy at this point. Must be a slow day for Entertainment/Fashion news.

another one I cannot stand. She needs to go away. She had it great and the fell off the deep end. Maybe in 10 years she will have something to offer, but right now, I wish she would just fade away. Seriously, I am so sick of these people, it is just amazing how these narcissists just crave the limelight and we are force fed them.

If Ungaro wants to give her a shot, let 'em. I don't know if she's qualified but that's his risk to take. As far as second chances at redemption go, one name... Robert Downey Jr., that guy was all messed up and look at what he's done since coming back.

i hope lohan can make the most of this chance and be successfull. she does seem to have a tendency for fashion( whether we agree or like it or not) so who knows this could be the comeback she was looking for albeit it, not in acting but a different world.. good luck, make the best of it.

Everyone is entilte to a chance. When we are young we tend to make mistakes that sometimes can really mess us up. She is just like any one of us. Think of her as if you were thinking of someone with a problem, wouldn't you like for someone to give you a hand?

Give the poor girl a chance. We as Americans are brutal to all of the wrong people. If we want to be mad at someone, let's get mad at Congress or at the insurance companies.

Yes, because she looks and dresses like a heroin addict and that's how designers like their models.
