DJ AM dies at 36Celebrity disc jockey Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein was found dead Friday in his apartment in New York, we've just confirmed. Drug paraphernalia reportedly was found at the scene. The New York Police Department tells CNN, "There is no criminality suspected at this time." The NYPD says the coroner will determine the cause of death. Goldstein was a DJ to the stars, who became a celebrity himself and dated the likes of Nicole Ritchie and Mandy Moore. He was set to star in a reality series for MTV this fall called "Gone Too Far", in which he was part of interventions staged to help young people with drug problems. He and Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker were the only survivors of a plane crash in South Carolina last year that killed four other people. |

Im actually watching a episode of Gone To Far as i type this..i find it truley sad he couldnt fight this horrible disease..but he encouraged so many other toget help..R.I.P DJ AM
he was due to go to rehab 2 days after he was found.and it is sad that someone who is still such an inspiration to a lot of people felt so alone....hope you found peace am
~To bad nobody helped him before they decided to turn his "drug problem" into a reality show...how sick is that?
So Sad!! The plane crash may not have killed him initially, but it looks like it's aftermath still took his life! He was a recoved addict, and being put on the anti anxiety and pain killers to get him passed that accident, was just a catalyst that seems to have sent him back to his old habbits, so don't judge the man so harshly. Much love to his family and friends grieving for him.
It'd be sad if he died in the plane crash but it's not sad because he OD'd on drugs. It's just downright stupid. A preventable death.
Celebritites dying at young ages has been a problem long before Joplin and Hendrix met their demise. We can call him stupid, say it's sad, say it's a waste, the truth is drug addiction just proves over and over that it has NO boundaries, no prejudice. It is parasitic and will attack and kill it's host at all costs. No one is immune.
Just say 'NO' + No drug problem. no cry
R.I.P. AM, gone way too soon...
Well I am truly struggling with this. I'm of an age (mid 40's) that puts me well beyond pop culture, but DJ AM's plane crash survival story crossed those boundaries. It's like opening a book and getting all into the story, only to discover the last chapter's missing. If only one other celebrity of his age could do something with his story, if only somebody could make some good out of all this. It was the same with Heath Ledger too. Nobody's learned anything, so it's like their lives came to nothing, just nothing.
guess drugs was the only thing he could do to block out the memory of the plane crash
Seriously it's completely sad to see and hear about celebrities dying and finding out that they overdosed on drugs. or even to hear about finding drugs in the first place.i've started to notice that every celebrity is becoming soo depressed lately and they need to go see a specialist or at least just talk to someone about it so then they don't get torn piece by piece from it til they've gone over their edge.something needs to happen here and now.no waiting is required.
the mix tape he did with travis barker was awsome
you survive a plane crash and then continue to piss your life away on drugs how stupid
much love to him and his family
