Letter from Diana Ross to Jackson

In a letter by Diana Ross, read by Smokey Robinson, she wrote that she "decided to pause and be silent, this feels right to me." Ross goes on to say, "Michael was a personal love of mine, a treasured part of my world, and part of the fabric of my life in a way I cant seem to find words to express."

I am 1 year older than micheal and there isn't a memory that doesn't include him in the past 4 decades. from waiting to watch jackson 5 on t.v. as a child,to every high school dance, teaching my classes to his music, listening to his records over and over. I loved who and what he represented. He inspired me artistically, and his kind of talent will never be replaced ! I am so lucky to have grown up with him. MJ WAS NOT JUST A SINGER-DANCER OR ENTERTAINER....HE WAS THE MUSIC THAT WE ALL NEEDED TO HEAR !

I remember Michael Jackson from when I was a young child, I thought the Jackson 5 was awesome!

Later, I loved Thriller and thought he was the best dancer I had ever seen. I copied him of course!

He was all about what was good and right in the world.

He was a beautiful man. He gave us everything from his heart and it is very sad that he is gone.

    Thank you Mr. Jackson.

I sincerely believe that he was a VERY talented young man who grew up to be a pedophile. It is a shame that "People" like this are celebrated instead of being subject to manditory therapy. Our society is in pretty poor shape when this excuse for a cultural icon is honored. I feel sad allright. Sad for where our values have fallen to as a nation and a society .

The outpouring of love and grief since Michael Jackson's death has been pretty amazing.

There is one thing I don't understand. If this man was so deeply in debt, why is he being buried in a solid gold coffin? This is obviously none of my business but since that is all that has been on the news for days, I can't help but comment on the seemingly extravagant display. The cost of that coffin could certainly have gone a long way to pay for the cost of the public facility used for his memorial service. People in the state of California have lost their jobs and bills have gone unpaid. It must feel like a slap in the face to them with this burdening expense to a state already under siege and in debt.

This man is obviously an icon in his field and certainly deserves our respect and admiration, however, I really think the networks have gone overboard and the family has not helped. There are heads of state that have not received nearly this much attention, alive or dead.

I know he will be missed and I extend my condolences to this family.
May he rest in peace and give peace to the rest of us who feel this has been an massive overdose by the media. There has to be more going on in the world than the aftermath of Michael Jackson's death.

Other than Brooke Shields, where were all these people to testify for him when he was alive? He sure could have used their help. Especially when the media was calling him whacko jacko. All I heard today was what a wonderful person he was and such an important Humanitarian that Congress had a moment of silence on June 25 in his honor. Where were they?

I see only hypocrites looking for screen time.

Graciously said, Ms. Ross. Pause and be silent. Upon hearing your letter, I felt a breeze blow across my arm and a sudden silence as I was watching the tribute alone. Like u, pause and be silent. Farewell Mr. Jackson, we will miss u.

It is a pity that such a great artist has to die so the people will recognize him as the " king of pop ". Is very sad that all those people that now are mourning his death did not stand by his side when he has been accused of those terrible things. people are hypocryt. Anyway, the message in his song " heal the world " is for us, for everyone. Never believe lies, and try to be better for the people around you. We are one, the world is one and we rule it with our spirits.
RIP Michael, you were the greatest artist of all times and the times that will come after you!!! You were unique. One person like you is born just once on a planet. It is a pity we didn`t know that when you were alive. LOVE U ALWAYS!!!

My heart bleeds knowing that tomorrow the media will have a field day cutting him down. I find it a sad thing and I resent how the next few days some will try and paint him a dirty person. Michael lived a very painful/complex life as many of us do. Whatever he used, he used as a shield against the outside world. I pray Janet will help her mom protect the children from all of this and attempt to explain that whatever he did it was what he thought was his only coping mechanism. Rest on Michael, rest on!

Say what you will, but jackson transformed pop music to a new dimension, not Elvis or the Beatles could bring people together like Jackson. Michael Jackson was a black man in spirit and talent.

Go on brother and party with James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Jackie Wilson, Sam Cooke , and Luther Vandross. They're waiting for you.

    Much Love,

    Michael Alexander
