Chris Brown breaks silence!“I ain’t a monster.” That’s Chris Brown’s message to his fans as he speaks out for the first time on camera since his February arrest after allegedly beating Rihanna. In a homemade video shot by Brown and his friend Bow Wow the singer talks directly to the camera. “Everybody that’s haters, they just been haters. All my real fans, I love you all, I ain’t a monster.” Brown allegedly attacked Rihanna the night before the Grammy Awards after leaving Clive Davis’ Annual Pre-Grammy Party together. Pictures later surfaced of a badly beaten Rihanna and both parties have kept relatively mum until now. The next court hearing in the case is tomorrow. When Showbiz Tonight contacted Chris Brown’s representative for a statement we received “no comment." What do you think? Should he have spoken out now or waited until his court case was settled? the sad truth is that domestic violence occurs in a very large amount of relationships world wide and both men and women can be the aggressor. Some women do not know how to react to or treat a gentleman when one does come around these days because they actually like guys who can physically dominate them or keep them in "check".

to "Go Waste your time some where else" A real man and a big person would have walked away. He would have had the power to call the police and shine the light on her actions. He chose to behave like and animal and it backfired. These are the consequences you suffer for being stupid. Lock his ass up. To hell with a second chance. Sometimes you only get 1. If this was my daughter, he would have been handled. His mother should have raised him but since he's feeding his whole family they have to back the b.s.! Violence is never a solution. In no way shape or form do I condone the allegations against Chris Brown. However, we as a public really need to stop being so judgemental. This is not the first or last domestic violence case. Unfortunately, there are many cases everyday of men (yes, I said it!)and women being abused by their partner either verbally or physically. The reality is that most people know or have known someone that has been through this traumatic experience, if they themselves have not. The Chris and Rihanna incident only brought this issue into the spotlight again and allowed many celebrity and non-celebrity woment to come forward about their abusive past or present relationships. I agree that we should allow him a chance to receive counseling to help him better himself and become a man that is respectful of women and would not raise his hand to make a point. Rehabilitation is not far fetched and should not be ruled out. Rihanna also needs to receive counseling so that she won't end up in another situation resembling this again. I am far more concerned with the punishment of people like Drew Peterson who have hidden in the shadows and murdered their supposed "loved" ones, yet seem to be getting away with it. This is more of a news topic that deserves much outrage and judgement from the public that Chris and Rihanna. In the end if she goes back to him after they have both received help resolving their issues, we should respect that and let it go.
OBVIOUSLY SHE MUST HAVE DONE SOMETHING TO PROVOKE HIM TO DO WHAT HE DID.. SOMETIMES MEN CAN BE THE VICTIM TOO .. ITS NOT AN EXCUSE BUT A REASON.. NOBODY SHOULD EVER HIT ANYONE MALE OR FEMALE.. NOW A DAYS YOU SEE WOMAN GET BRAVE AND WANT TO GET IN MENS FACES AND THE UNFORTUNANTE HAPPENS. MAYBE THESE TYPE OF WOMAN SHOULD REALLY THINK ABOUT WHAT THEY DO AND CHANGE THERE BAD ADDITUDES.
I am not defending Chris Brown in any way. He obviously has some very serious issues. It is absolutely cowardly and unacceptable that he physically battered his girlfriend. And to try and minimize it with that moronic excuse "I'm not a monster" is completely asinine. However, his ebonics is part of the "artistic and entertainment" style of the video he put out. The reporter quoted it out of the context of the video piece. The real atrocity if that he put out an "entertainment" video to defend himself instead of a sincere honest apology. He is a young man, let's hope he gets some serious life changing help and he grows the hell up.
Mr. Brown you really need a reality check. You also need lots of help. An last but not least you need to go back to school. But you're right about one thing you are not a monster but a piece of trash. Shame on you. Rihanna set an example go to court,don't let this happen to another person. PLEASE!!!
Here are my thoughts about some of the comments posted.
1) "Chris's mom didn't do a good job." What about Rihanna's parents? I guess they raised her to beat up fellow human beings and sleep around with men. Did anyone see the naked Rihanna pics on the net this week? Yeah, her parents did a great job raising her.
2) And how can someone comment that he has never heard a Chris Brown song and in the same sentence, comment that he is talentless?
3)There are alot of you who are calling him uneducated, yet, alot of you have comments with misspelled words, incorrect punctuation and grammar. I know my English isn't perfect. Is yours?
4) If you don't like Chris Brown's music, then you just don't. Do we really care?
5) Contrary to what someone wrote, Chris has cross over appeal. Believe me, he didn't sell more records than Rihanna without crossing over.
6) I really believe that since O.J. was found innocent oh so many years ago, every black male who is suspected of doing something wrong will be crucified by society as payback.
7) Chris was wrong for hitting Rihanna back. He should have walked away. But if they were in a car, how would he have been able to walk away?
8) If he is guilty, then let him pay for his crime. I bet you one thing. Rihanna will think twice about putting her hands on anyone else again. Unless, she too has an anger problem.

Ike and Tina Turner. The difference between Rhianna and Tina is that Rhianna didn't remain in the relationship as long as Tina did.
Ike's career wasn't the same after Tina left him and I believe the same is going to happen or has already happened to Chris Brown.

I believe you should be trying to apologize and come up with a foundation for battered women to help them get out of the situation that you put Rhianna through.

People will judge you based upon your behavior. After all, it is what you show to the world that speaks to your character. The way in which Chris Brown beat Rihanna and his seemingly lack of remorse is what I believe most people are reacting to. It is as though he dosen't get what people are concerned about. People who are abusers, don't cure themselves and he needs help. So for those of you who say people shouldn't judge him, then you are being naive.
And as for the "skeltons in one's closet" which one writer spoke to, if they are in the closet, then that is where they should stay, it when you bring them out, that the problems start. Then you begin to show people who you really are. And that is unfortunately what Chris Brown did. Fame and celebrity carry with it the scrutiny of people into all areas of your life. I hope he does get help and his career can get back on track.

There's no debate about that; if she did whatever she did with the text message or whatnot, however, it still doesn't deserve the beating she got. Many of you typed worse comments than he said. I have also been in this type of situation as a young male. However I was the abused.
Our society is so quick to judge, I won't go so far as to say that she got what she deserved but in every confrontation something had to provoke it. I believe Rihanna did more than just get mad over a text message. Most women believe soley because they are women that it is exceptable for them to hit their significant other. Both of them need counseling on handling sensitive situations, and controlling their emotions.

For clarification, the only blame I feel Rihanna holds is her actions afterwards to young girls everywhere. I so wish she'd come out and really put a face to domestic violence. It is so much more prevelant in young girls nowadays. What a shame.

If it true that he beat that girl? This guy needs to except responsibility for his actions. Nothing she did gave him the right to beat her. There should be a trial, and right after he should be sent to jail. This is a crime that most end. Every minute, hour or day in this country, some poor women is killed by a man. Ladies you have to start a movement, men won't. No more sex, no more dinners, etc., until we take this more serious. Mother's teach your sons how ladies should be treated.

I think the post was in bad taste because of the situation that he is in yet I think he is also frustrated. I can't believe anyone is blaming Rihanna- even if they were verbally fighting, even if she tried to hit him, decent men don't hit women. EVER. PERIOD. Every comment that I have read is very judgemental. Chris Brown is a good entertainer and his career is not over. I do not condone domestic violence. I agree he needs counseling. I agree with many of the posts. He can sing and so someone snatched him up and promised stardom. Where are the folks in his life that are suppose to remind him of education, values? I'm sure the stardom was inticing to his caregiver/s as well but there are others that influence a child. Neighbors, Teachers, Grandparents, Church Members. Where were they?
And don't even get me started on the example Rihanna his setting. Hopefully she'll emerge wiser but only time will tell.
For all of you who are placing some blame on Rhianna, maybe you are correct. For you who are saying "hey, he made a mistake"...look at the pictures. He didnt just punch her once and then realized what he was doing and stop. He beat the hell out of her over an extended period of time. He repeatedly punched her and then choked her to where she was almost unrecognizable. This was not an "oh my gosh i hit you and I am so sorry" situation. If you read the police report he pretty much wanted to kill her. Anyone with that much rage needs help and a prison sentence.

Actually, they would. There is a huge from between bruises on your girlfriends wrists because you restrained her from attacking you. There is a huge difference from slapping another adult back when they slap you.
There is NEVER an excuse to beat the living crap out of someone like we saw in those pictures. Putting someone in a headlock and beating them until he OR she is unrecognizable is not acceptable behavior in any circumstances.
In other words, if it was a fair fight, I'd like to see the pictures of his injuries.
This is just another unfortunate example of some young idiot who can sing and is thrust into fame regardless of the fact that they are a moron. Then when their true colors come out they want to hide behind their fame and fortune and sadly it works quite often. Its just another example of how in todays society if you have the cash you can buy your way out of anything. Plus you still have this stereotype in urban music that its the guy who is doing drugs and selling guns or prostetuting women that is the "real man". Is it any wonder that he did what he did?

As a witness to domestic violence growing up, the only thing I can say is "yes" i HATE the abuser and have some resentment for the abused. To be abused and to take back the abuser over and over is crazy and doesnt set a good example to ANYONE. Both of the young adults have people looking up to them. Yes Chris, I am a hater. I hate abuser. And as for Rhianna, I feel pity for you. There is no way that this is the first beating. It usually just starts with a punch or a slap and escalates from that. It doesnt just begin with a ultimate fight experience. Therefore, who knows how many times he has actually "hit you" and you just keep going back. This should be considedered a lesson learned. Get rid of him, get some therapy and get back to your music making. Set an example for people, women who have been abused by the ones who "love" them. Hummm, I am so torn right now. I love this guy for his music. However, speaking from someone who was in an abusive relationship there is never a time to put your hands on another person period. Be it male or female. I am disappointed in the fact that he comes off sounding so "hood" like that's what's hot in the streets right now. He should be more focused on saving his "career" as opposed to making "Free Chris Brown" tapes. The saddest part of this whole ordeal is that my son (8) looked up to him so much. He wanted to dance and sing just like him and now he can't stand to look at him because of what he did. Even though the facts are not known, there is no escaping the fact that Mr. Brown was abusive. Some remorse would have helped or please just be quiet.
Can someone explain to me, if he was brought up by his mother, how is she and the family paster helping him? Obviously she didn't get it right the first time and the courts should make him take mandatory therapy with a licensed therapist. He does not show any regret and not showing that he is working on the problem.

I use to always listen to his music all of the time... until this incident. now when i when i hear his music i think of a woman beater. I heard he came from a broken home or abusive. So have I. I take pride that i am nothing like what i was raised in. I deleted any of his songs and refuse to listen to any of it. i was a really big fan. i guess i am now a hater... I am proud of that. His actions can't be justified. What he did was wrong. Until I see a picture of HIS face bruised and beaten, I won't believe justice has been served. My cousin was 5 mon. pregnant and was beaten up. She looked just as bad if not worse than that picture of Rhianna AND she was pregnant. She had stitches, staples, bruises, and cuts. The abuser plea bargained. He got 2 days for beating her and 5 days for breaking the no-contact order. Also had to take a Batterer's Education Program. Justice wasn't served in that case either. I took a sociology class in university on domestic violence. We learned of some pretty shocking cases. One where the husband would tie his wife up during the day while at work and take the phone with him. He threatened to kill her if she ever tried to escape or contact anyone. Domestic violence is serious business folks, and can be complicated. it's not always easy for victims to just walk away.
Mr. Brown has claimed in the past that he witnessed his mother being abused. If his mother was indeed a victim of domestic violence he was predisposed to becoming an abuser; HOWEVER, this does not excuse his acts on the young lady in question. This foul creature masquerading as a human should be treated like any other person who abuses another. He should be charged to the fullest for his alleged crimes. As a society, our first step should be taking the word "domestic" out of domestic violence. Violence is violence, no matter your relation to the other person. All abusers should be treated equally and as what they are...Criminals!

The sad issue in the aftermath of this is the P.R. (Public Relations). They got what they wanted: everyone is talking about Chris Brown, and opining and arguing over Rhianna's involvement and how much she should be blamed for. Bottom line is noone ever deserves that kind of treatment, to be beaten and humiliated–but the blogs, emails, news stories, etc. that have followed a less than articulate comment, have basically enlivened and emphasized his name and status because he is once again on the lips of fans, both past and present. I personally hope they can both heal, learn from the experience (including legal ramifications), and then able to move on with their lives.

However, Rihanna seems to have attacked him first, after she was angered by a text in his phone from another woman; because of this he hit back. If this is true, then I think that everyone should set aside this manifestation of our society's double standards. When an adult strikes another adult, he or she has to be prepared to accept the consequences, regardless of sex. For instance, if a small man struck a large man, I doubt many would sympathize with the small man the way many have with Rihanna in this case. Yet, because she is a woman, she's gained sympathy. No one can have it both ways: either all have fairness and equality under the law or the law becomes arbitrary.

Domestic violence is about the abuser's need to control and the abuser's beliefs that say it is okay to use physical violence or other types of violence or intimidation to maintain that control when he feels his wife or girlfriend is doing something he doesn't like – when he perceives she is out of his control. He says he is not a monster, but he IS an abuser!

Unfortunately most abusers aren't monsters. At least they seem like normal every day people until you cross them. Then they cannot ever be trusted again. No one has the right to harm another person. I taught my children to walk away when someone angers them. That's what we all need to do.

So many times people assume it is the man who is only at fault. We should not judge the situation based on what the media has stated. Given that Rhianna seems to have maintained all her endorsement deals and Chris Brown has not it seems that some have chosen sides and formed an opinion which is ridiculous. Given the fact that the trial or whatever deal that may be struck has not been completed and the FACTS have not been made public one should not be forming an opinion of who is right and who is wrong. I am not saying that hitting anyone is OK what I am saying is that sometimes there is only so much a person can take and anger for whatever reasons rears its ugly head in many forms and one should not judge with out all the facts. Also the media and the public have a tendency of placing people in role model positions that should not be and then when they make a mistake the media cuts them up and spits the story out with out the true facts only two people know what happen and I highly doubt anyone else one else will find out the truth!

You would be surprised, a lot of his female fans actually still support him. Its the whole superstar complex, they hated Rihanna for being with "Their Man" and have convinced themselves while its not alright to hit a woman like that, there must have been some reason.
