Top 3: Kris Allen doesn't have to 'Apologize'

Randy and Kara pick "Apologize" by One Republic, and I heart this song!

Kris Allen

Kris looks good on the piano, and I am reminded why I have become a fan. He takes a popular song, sings it well and puts his own flavor on it.

Kara slams him for not going acoustic, and Paula says she heard a bum note. I'm going to have to rewind the TIVO, because I thought he sounded great. Simon calls Kara out for picking a song and then complaining that Kris does a version too close to the original.

Kara looked like she was about to go off on Simon as they verbally spared over wee Paula.

Things seem to disintegrate at the judges table, and I wish it was less about THEM and more about the contestants.

Top 3: Danny Gokey kicks it off

Paula picks "Dance Little Sister" by Terence Trent D'Arby for Danny to sing.

Danny Gokey

She texts her choice to Danny during his hometown visit to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and now it occurs to me how are they going to have judges' choice with three contestants and four judges. Hmmm.

I appreciate that Danny tries sing and not just perform. He added some dance moves to it, but it sounded a little forced and growly to me.

The judges seem split two to two, with Randy and Paula loving it and Kara and Simon not so much.

Mark me down for the latter.

And yet again we have the Paula/Simon foolishness with him putting his hand over her mouth and her yelping "Help" before Ryan claims she punches him.

Enough already, children!

Top 3: It just doesn't seem right

So the show just started, and I hate the feeling that I already know what's going to happen.

I am steeling myself for an Adam vs. Danny showdown in the finale, and that hardly seems fair to cutey-pie Kris.

But in my heart of hearts, I feel like it doesn't matter how well Kris sings, how original he is or what the judges say, because I honestly think the voters will still send him home.

Let's face it, the Lambs are determined to see Adam in the finale and if Danny can survive the horror that was Rock Week with what he did to Aerosmith's "Dream On," then does Kris really stand a chance?

Adam was looking pretty smirky when the camera flashed on him during the introduction. Gotta love the chutzpah!

The three amigos, Ryan? Really?

Carrie will remain Miss California…She, I believe, will do a fantastic job.”

So did Trump do the right thing? Should Carrie Prejean have been dethroned? We have a fired up debate tonight on Showbiz Tonight at 11pm Eastern and Pacific- don’t miss it!

French perfection on 'Dancing'

Four couples are left on “Dancing With the Stars” and each has die-hard fans.

But no matter who you are rooting for, the standout celebrity appears to be actor Gilles Marini.

The French native has been wowing audiences with his good looks and great dancing skills since the start of the competition. He’s also received consistent praise from the judges and last night was no exception.

Marini and his professional dancing partner Cheryl Burke got perfect scores for both of their dances of the evening. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba called his waltz “breathtaking” and Bruno Tonioli compared him to a matinee idol.

But perhaps the biggest compliment came from often hard-to-please judge Len Goodman after Marini danced the salsa. “I wish I had an 11 paddle,” Goodman said. (Judges can each give a maximum score of 10 for a dance.)

Marini is truly a pleasure to watch on the dance floor and he’ll likely make it to the finals, so the question now is: Who will be his main rival for the mirrored ball trophy?

Both Melissa Rycroft and Shawn Johnson did well last night. Ty Murray is enormously likable and he’s improved a lot, but will he be finally eliminated tonight?

Tell us what you think.
