Top 7 Part Two: We now have our top fiveI'm not completely shocked at the eliminations, though I held my breath a little with the final bottom two. Now that the final five have been revealed, was it all that you thought it would be? Adam is sickening and should not win but will.
Danny Gokey is the real winner and will definitely get a singing contract.
OK, Let's face it Adam is a FAKE. You can tell he puts on a huge act. I don't agree at all with who got sent home last week. Lil, yes her time but not Anoops. He was good. Matt should have been sent home, why in the world did they save him? I would really like to see Danny and Kris til the end....Then of course Danny winning 🙂
For those who are screaming racism...Season 1: 2nd place, Justin Juarini; Season 2: WINNER, Ruben Studdard; Season 3: WINNER, Fantasia Barrino; Season 6: WINNER, Jordin Sparks. Educate yourselves people! It is irresponsible to throw out these false accusations. NO WONDER WE CAN'T GET PAST RACISM! Even when it doesn't exist people try to make it up! I do believe Allison is Latina...Matt should go home this week. They wasted a save on him! Anoop could out sing him and Lil in my opinion.
I think Matt should have gone home! Anoop is a better singer than Matt and I don't why the judges saved him.

Paula's Michael Phelps comment made more sense than most people give her credit for. She wasn't merely comparing Adam Lambert to Michael is stature , looks or sexiness, but the elation and the intense feeling we all experienced race after race, and how Michael just kept surprising us. The feeling that has us asking "will this guy, ever stop being amazing?" is exactly what Paula communicated. Actually, Paula makes perfect sense, and while her ideas are a little abstract, she looks for connection that are based more on instinct , the gut feeling, than merely making linear comments. Let's give her a break. She's on pain meds for her back and her major neck operation left her with lots of residual issues. She's actually a very sweet and generous person to work with and a very talented choreographer who understands music rather well.

They are all so talented but Adam has always been consistent and gets better all the time. I pick Adam to win and I really like Allison and I dont think she should go home. I really didnt care for Matt's performance so I think Matt should go tonight.

Danny rocks - and Adam continues to scream. Adam also needs a mentor in the suit department-–it seems like he's tring to look like Elvis on a bad day in his lycra tux. He is scary to me--really creepy. He needs to go.
Adam is a star...even if he doesn't win Idol, it doesn't matter, he has a career. I for one can't wait for his first CD release.
The television audience is voting for their favorites...so if your favorite isn't winning doesn't mean the program is rigged or there is racism involved. (this charge of racism is a debate no one never wins, the more you protest the deeper you dig your hole)
I just think it is ridiculous that they said they were having a "Rat Pack" show, and they only played Frank Sinatra songs.....I waited to hear one song from Dean Martin and wasted my time, I will not sit through another one of their shows.
I've been watching Amercan Idol since day 1 and this group of performers is by far the best I've every seen. I'm telling you I can't say anything bad here. I think it's a given that Adam will win and most everyone knows it. He's just heads and tails above the group all the way. No one can beat any part of him – but then he already has significant experience under his belt. This is his big chance and he's going to take it and have a career. But what about the rest of them. I'm crazy about little Allison; she reminds me of Janis Joplin and I truly wish she could come in 2nd, but I'm sure it's not gonna happen.
Likely it will be Danny/Kris or Kris/Danny. So we'll have our top 3. But man I wish she could bump someone, but I couldn't tell you which one because they are all so good. And I'm not leaving out Matt. I love this guy but I'm sure he's leaving. I was so happy that Simon embraced the performance, whew! Matt could have been better but he kept getting beaten down by the judges. Allison should tell Simon to shut his trap, although then she's sound like Anoop who was the biggest wah/wah baby I've seen. He should have gone wayyy before he did.

At this point in the competition everybody can sing. The question is who is the best entertainer? Like I said Adam #1 and Gokey #2
Adam and Kris FINAL 2. Adam for the win. Both incredibly original artists – deserve top 2. Adam just slightly more "marketable and relevant" than Kris. Allison was an early favorite but has failed to evolve. Seems like the same brilliant performance ever week. Kara is hot. Tell Abdul to be quiet.
done with watching Idol- I cqn see racism anywhere, I don't have to turn on the TV for that.

I really hate the fact that whenever someone of color is kicked off the show all of a sudden its because of race. what about lack og TALENT!
What and the freakn heck are some of you people talking about??? Adam does not deserve to win! he should have been gone after that HORRIBLE rendition of Ring Of Fire. I believe Lil for some reason got the short end of the stick. The final three should have been Danny, LiL, and Anoop. America did not get it right and I believe a large part had to do with the influence of what the judges were saying. From early on in the season they have said Adam would be in the finals. That's called hypeand guess what America??? You are buying into the crappy hype. I think I'm going to stop watching Idol if Danny doesn't make it to finals. I will be happy watching Sundays Best on BET or until another show comes along that gives people a chance without the judges being bias or selling the singer to the american voter before it's even week three.
Just for FYI purposes... I don't believe that Matt sounds like nor is trying to be like JT. Last I checked JT didn't play the piano.
Allison is good, but she doesn't pronounce her words clear. So half the time her voice sounds cluttered.
Kris is to folk sounding and is no where near pop.
Adam is just too theatrical and does the same thing with his vocals every week. The songs he sings might be rearranged , but his vocals stays the same. His last performance was boring as is every week for me. I don't think that I liked one of his performances.
Why didn't Lil sing all these weeks like she sang last night? Wow!! The woman just needs some polishing. I don't think she has a bad attitude, she just believes in herself....which is half the battle in the business...there's plenty of people that will knock you down. I'm really happy Matt stayed. He too with the right people behind him can go far. Adam of course has the most overall talent and he really doesn't need to win, he's already made it. I just don't see why people like Kris. I know the teeny boppers like him but come on!! Could you imagine sitting there listening to him for more than 2 minutes....quite boring. Danny also bores me and he's so out of breath all the time....start doing some cardio dude. Hopefully Allison will go home next week. I know she's young but I just don't get her lack of personality. She has that crazy raggedy ann hair and wild outfits but her personality doesn't fit with it. Still miss Megan and hope she'll have something in the works soon. Oh producers.....bring back Jamar (.Danny's buddy) to sing next week. He didn't get a fair deal

I was relieved Matt made it...i took the time to listen to his Utube vd's ..he really has a good style about him...(lousy recordings though)..
I think he has so much to offer music in the future...I'm looking forward to buying a cd with some real R&B from him.
What surprised me most of the evening was Lil...why oh why couldn't she sing the way she did last night...she did a pretty good performance.tone was great, on key..etc...shocking..and good.
Anut is a dear..a humble human...i visioned him going on tour to small joints that just want a chilled peaceful evening with soul southing music....hold your head up..you made it so far amongst so many!

i think kris should have gone home last night instead of anoop. kris hasn't chosen his song choices that were strong enough to make him stay. anoop was really good. he held his notes for the most part, and balanced his vocals a lot, too. i liked lil rounds voice in the beginning but she never showed her voice on the show like she did in her audition. i think if she balanced and sang stronger she would have stayed longer. i think matt proved himself again, the judges are too hard on him. i wish danny would sing louder, balance his vocals, and sing stronger. he should put more into his performances, i think. adam was amazing once again. people judge him, they think he only sings loud. he doesn't,if i cant have you was a non screaming, quiet song, mad world was soft, non screeching song, tracks of my fire was a calm, non yelling song, to name a few of MANY non noisy song. the other contestants would be in the spot light more if they had stage presence and made themselves be heard. it seems adam and danny are they top 2 because the others haven't proved they are in the top. plus always being yourself never hurts.
Last night had a perfect finale! The very right two went home. ADAM is absolutely the best one ever on this show. You can't argue against his amazing talent. He should and will WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe the finals will be Kris and Adam. I want Kris to win. Adam is the best performer hands down. However that's it... I can't see anyone listening to his CD without WATCHING him perform. I just don't see it. I think Kris would put out a quality album. Danny's songs all sound the same, and that's getting old.

Anoop has amazing vocals - love them, but he was boring. I like listening to him but not watching. Kris is talented, but all the same, somehow boring and blah. I think Alison is amazingly talented, especially for one so young. I don't understand why she doesn't have a bigger fan base. Matt G. should head home next. When he's hot, he's hot, but he is not consistent. I really love Danny, but he's lagged in his last couple performances. I think Adam is strange, but totally mesmerizing somehow. I know he'll win the whole thing. I wanted David Archuleta to win last year (got 65 votes in for him on the final night), but is it just me or has his voice changed/matured? He sounded off last night. But not as bad as Miley Cyrus the other week - you could tell just how much studio tweaking her voice requires to make her marketable.
I can't believe the Matt fans on here. He can't sing and he always looks like he is smelling something bad. I think that he should have gone instead of Anoop. Anoop has a great voice, but didn't have the personality that Americans in TV land vote for. Allison and Adam have the best voices, but Allison doesn't have the personality that American TV watchers will vote for either. She has quite a bit of self confidence, which she would have to have to have such "stage presence" at her age. I think some people mistake that for arrogance. Still, I hope that she and Adam are the top two.

Yes, America got it exactly right! It was time for Anoop and Lil to leave. The final 5 are definitely the best of the bunch. The competition should really heat up now!
Adam is the best idol EVER! I have enjoyed watching the show since its inception but have never bought a CD from a winner/contestant, much less been to a live show. This year, god help me, I am contemplating going for the American Idol tour just because I cannot wait another 2 years to see Adam live. Not only can he do everything, he's humble, intelligent, and refreshingly honest. For all the kudos and adulation he gets week after week, just look at his face when the judges talk. It's like he expects to get the boot any minute. Sure he's been singing for years, but it's been in small theater roles, and in restaurants for lack of better opportunities. All the other singers have been at it since childhood as well, only Adam lives and breathes it. His on-stage persona is a complete contrast to his real-life personality and I find that intriguing. GO ADAM! You are the best!
Lil has been on borrowed time for weeks. She got her come-uppance last night, no shock there and no offense intended. Personally, I don't know why they save Matt two weeks ago, he's way too wimpy and mediocre, and I kinda like Anoop. But that said, this is all anti-climatic until the finals. It's Adam against everyone else; personally I think that should be Allison. Allison is the only one that can beat Adam, only because she is such a contrast. Put any of the guys against him and it's a blowout. So whether it's this week or next or the following, Danny, Anoop, Matt, et al., they are all going down eventually. By that rationale, Anoop's number happened to come up last night.
The right 2 went home. Not necessarily the way I want it, but I see the elimination order as Matt, Allison, Danny, and the finale of Kris and Adam. To me, Adam isn't a shoo-in as the Idol...Kris can surprise. I'm just glad they're all talented and should all do well post-Idol.
The right people went home. I, too, held my breath at the bottom two. Allison deserves to be in the finals. If not top two, at least, top three. I don't understand why she's always in the bottom, she has an amazing voice and is not cookie cutter pop. She is recognizable and different from the run of the mill Idol performers. I think that the young girls are the ones voting, and therefore, they are not voting for the young girl, of course, it's all about the cute boys. I never liked Lil Rounds anyway, and felt the judges were pushing her, but then she just didn't sing well and kept dropping down in their eyes. My final three would be Adam, Allison and Chris. WE WILL SEE!!!
Yes they were the right bottom two, though I don't understand why Danny Gokey never made it to the bottom 3. He is a good singer, but nothing special about him. I like Kris Allen, the vocal is ok but he is creative in what he did to the songs. Love Adam Lambert, the only idol I bought the songs. Hope to see more surprise from him. Ring of Fire was a daring choice, but I love it. Same thing with "Mad World". Hope he will win the competition.
everyone keeps saying people were booing Anoop, but in actuality they are saying "ANOOOOOP"... they've been doing it since the beginning.
I used to like Danny but he's grown stale... right now it's the Adam and Kris show and I expect to see them in the finals.
I believe Matt deserves 3rd but it will probably go to Danny or Allison

Anoop was far, far better than Matt- I don't get the attraction to him at all. He's a very poor man's Justin Timberlake at best. While I don't think Anoop is going to be the next Josh Groban, I think he has a lot more potential- especially in an international market, than Matt. But then Alexis Grace should not have been vut early and Lil should never have been there that long....yoyo
Although the contestants this year are very talented and all good singers I believe the ever changing format from judges critique to the judges rescue vote have tended to reinforce my belief that it is all scripted and the judges in reality pick the winner by their comments or lack of. It really seems to be Simon's show and if he likes you you stay if not you go. Lots of power for a questionable man who has so little talent himself. The other three judges all have performed on stage and really know what it takes but their opinions do not seem to matter.
So to answer the question no I dont think Lil Rounds got the lowest votes.
matt has DEFINITE talent and I vote for him EVERY WEEK. I think lil rounds and anoop were the correct ones to go home. I do not know WHY everybody loves chris! UGH! He is horrible and he sings with his crooked mouth. He is so annoying! Get him out. I think adam and allison will make it to the top, hopefully matt will be third place.
I believe that theydidnot want a Black female to win this year. They were not supportive of L'il.Now it is where they want the ompetition to be.
The right two went home, but Lil's elimination was rushed and certainly not respectful to someone who made it that far. It was just like, " OK, lets begin, get rid of Lil and then get going with the real show."

I am sad that Lil was sent home last night. I thought she would make it far... Can't say if it's right or wrong because it depends on our votes. But they should all be very proud to make to this far. Well, not sure why Matt is still here though. For me, he is a karoke copy-cat performance since day one. He's trying to be like Justin Timberlake or something like that. I don't see anything original about him. I thought Matt was sent home last night, not Anoop or Lil. But again, anything could happen on this show! So I think Matt should be bye-bye next. For me, this year competation really begins if Adam, Danny, Allison, & Kris are the top 4. These 4 will bring the house down. Each of them is good in very different ways. At this point, I don't really know which one will go all the way. But I hope that Adam Lambert will win. The boy can sing whatever people want to hear. That's what makes him my fav this year. Vote for ADAM!!!....
I don't know why I get so worked up, but I always breathe a HUGE sigh of relief when I hear "Adam, you are safe." Whew! I did my obligatory-celebratory dance at that time. Then my heart DROPPED when I saw that Allison was in the bottom 3. zomg! So apparently I need to be voting more for her AND Adam ... that was frightening for a minute. As much as I LOVE Anoop, it was his time to go, I guess. I mean, at this stage in the competition everyone is good, so it's always going to be a heartbreaking event when someone leaves. Lil has an amazing voice, but she has been on borrowed time for a few weeks now. I'm satisfied with who went home, now just to keep focusing on Adam going for the win!

Matt is at least a broader, more interesting as a musician. I think it is going to be Adam, and either Kris or Allison in the finale. I think they are all really great, and will all have recording contracts after this. But I would be shocked if Adam doesn't win. He is not my taste, but he is by far the most innovative, courageous, and artistic singer in the show's history.
If you ever listen to the contestants sing – I assure you – you would know Anopp was the BEST singer. I listen to all of them on my iphone and he has the best voice – no screeching, no screaming – he actually does the singing – not the backup singers. He was the reason I watched American idol – the judges save was not the way the voting should have gone – they kept Matt on – not the public. I am sorry to see Anoop go as the show is supposed to be about singing. But, he is bright and has core values – another American Idol talent – glad you made it as far as you did Anoop in such a contrived show. I hope to hear more from you soon. Well I agree with Anoop leaving but Lil Rounds left way too early. I found Lil more entertaining than Matt or Kris. And just what was Allison doing in the bottom three? Are you kidding me? She has more talent and sings better at 16 than Matt or Kris. I think in order to save face they purposely kept Matt out of the bottom three to validate using the "save" the week before. Just think of how it would have looked if he got asked to leave a week after they saved him, I do say that would not have inspired peoples votes on keeping the judges "save" for next season. Matt should be the next to go, then Kris. If Allison goes before Matt, I am through watching Idol.
No surprise here at all!!! I said the moment after they saved Matt last week Lil and Anoop would be gone this week. Lil over stayed her welcome on the show, repeating the same type performance every week. She can sing but could never get on the judges good side and in the words of Simon, "forgettable." The only reason I said Anoop would go is because he had spent that last few weeks in the bottom three or even two and there was no way America (or the show) was going to allow Matt to come home after he was just saved. This should come down to a three "man" race between Kris, Adam, and Gokey (who I believe is losing steam to a more talented Kris). Matt or Allison will be gone by the end of next week, and if I had to make a decision I would say Matt will be the one to get the boot!
Give me a break Animated. Adam and his market research?? He's learned through years of experience as he has been in the business since he was a child. Everything he does is planned. Wonder if he will forgo the makeup and fingernail polish when trying to pick up the votes of the viewers whose contestants were eliminated who may not appreciate his theatrical freakiness. He's obviously talented, but he isn't mainstream.

Noop Dog was robbed! Anoop would be in the top 5, where he belongs, if the judges had not saved "The Horned One" last week. Now I have to endure that hideous wart another week, unless he wears a hat. It seems Matt always does better when he covers his easily removed deformity.
Lil Round booted off was not racist and I'am a blackman, she can sing but she wasn't as prgressive as she should be, although I fault the judges for trying to create certain type of singers and keeping them in a pigeon hole box as what happen to Lil Rounds and it was her time to go becuz she didn't quite get it, the status Que of Lil Round wasn't happening any longer for her, she was too predictible week afer week, impersonating the artist of the song she sung, you can't be a "status que person" on american Idol it's just not going to work out for you as constestant..
Let me say something about RACISM in AMERICA, don't act as if the WHITE CARD has never been played in AMERICA, becuz since this nation was founded, THE WHITE CARD has ALWAYS been in PLAYED, so any other non white person has EVERY RIGHT to play whatever color card they chose if they feel discriminated against .. andy IF you are white in america you WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND what happens on a daily basis to people of color in this nation, from the copr. boardrooms, to the public schol rooms.. so,until AMERICA comes to grips with the RACE problem that is STILL being demonstrated daily against people of color in the NATION as RITES OF PASSAGE..then , WHITE FOLK NEED TO GET OVER IT AND REALIZE THE BLACK CARD WILL CONTINUE TO BE USED and PLAYED WHEN NEED BE.. YES WHITE FOLK in AMERICA play the WHITE CARD daily as a act of PRIVILEGE GIVEN TO THEM BECUZ THEY ARE WHITE period, not becuz of merit, hard work, simply becuz they are white, this is a generational thing people TAUGHT to little white children that they are BETTER than others that aren't white as them...get over it.. it happens and white america you know ans I know I've been around long enough to know whot his nation operates when it comes to color, you can't deny it any longer..
But getting back to A.I.
I was shocked that allsion was on the bttm, Anoop can sing, but he has no showmanship(boring performance and that preppy type attitude is dead to the birds and the american audience and I agree somewhat) But I would have like to see MATT go before Anoop, Adam will not when the title, Allsion is who I hoping for... she is the lease fearful, and with fear you can't WIN nothing. Kris is the most created talent, but he is a nervous AIR to me , very emotional and seems hott tempered covertly. Danny needs to go back to church, he doesn't do it for me ..why he's not gone> behooves me. Adam is a screamer, i think america is gonna get tired of the same old thing from adam (i'm not impressed) he kinda freaky acting and looking like he doesn't know what he is or who he is, like the artist name PRINCE who was also confused about his sexuality, but made GREAT music as a artist. My Pick is either Allsion, with maybe Kris as runner up.
Allison and Matt will be the next two to go. It will depend who has the better performance next week. They are pretty much in a dead heat. Danny and Kris will be the next two. Those two are in a pretty dead heat as well and could go either way. One or the other will really have to bring it that week to stay in for the finals. Adam will win it all. I think he is very good but has gotten more props than he deserved all year. I don't feel that he is necessarily in a league of his own.
I don't think Anoop Desai should have gone home LAST NIGHT, although he doesn't really have a shot in hell at winning... but still it shouldn't have been him to go OVER Matt Giraud. Anoop's performance was pretty good and level, Matt was cheesy and annoying... but I think the past few weeks with Anoop being in the bottom was what culminated last night...but again, shoulda been Matt G. Although, he won't win either, so I don't think it really matters who goes when – they aren't even top 3 anyway.
I guess there will always be a pool of people who are racist, but they will never out number those who are not.
I enjoyed Anoop's performances; but mostly I admired his maturity and intelligence throughout this AI season. It was sad to see him leave. I'll be first in line to buy his CD.
Yes, I think exactly the right two (the two I had picked) were sent packing. Next to go should be either Matt...or Danny. (gasp!) My opinion.
The entire competition is moot..Adam will win, it is already a done deal. You can tell by the judges. There is no reason to continue frankly, either for the other kids or for the audience. The only good thing is the exposure for the final few, as in the past, sometimes number 2 or 3, or in Jennifer Hudson's case 4 or 5, end up with the more credible career.
I was sad that Anoop went home, and I thought his final performance was much better than it was the night before. Why couldn't he perform like that on Tuesday?
I had been hoping for an Adam, Kris, Allison and Anoop final, but I guess Gokey will be in that spot. Matt will go home next week, unless people don't get out and vote and they send Allison home, which would be terrible – it should be an Adam, Kris and Allison finale.

To all the Adam haters, OK, the boy is a little screechy, but at least he takes chances with the material given and puts his own spin on it...unlike the others who sound (to me) the same week after week. If I'm going to plunk down my hard earned change at a concert, I expect to be entertained and Adam will no doubt do that. GO ADAM!!!
I think Adam is everything the producers of American Idol have wanted since it started. He has it all: voice, looks, stage presence, confidence, experience, and he makes every song his own.
Whether he wins or not, Adam has a great chance of being the most successful contestant ever on American Idol. He could be the next Elvis.
You want to talk about racism? Okay, well talk about it. No on endured more racism than Anoop. People bluntly stated they would not vote for him no matter how well he sang. They made disparaging comments about who he is and his family. One bigot on this very thread stated “he was out just out of place”. So did racism play a roll? Oh absolutely. Lil’ may have gotten some, but Anoop got the grunt of it, that’s for sure. I wish for the day that people can be judged not based on the color of their skin.
I am so sad that Anoop went home, and I think that if he didn't go home this week then it would have been next week! He did so well, and I think that he has a great career as a singer ahead of him!! He should be proud of himself!
As for Lil, its about time that she went home! It's great to be confident in yourself, but I personally think that she was a hothead. She was great in the beginning, but then she went down hill, and the judges told her that, but she wouldn't listen to them. I believe that she hurt herself!
As for who I think should be in the final three!! Def Adam, Danny and Allison!! Speaking of Allison, what is up with her being in the bottom three?? Can people not hear how unique and great her voice is???? I don't get that! And not to mention how amazing she is for her age!! She is a star!!

Danny is so overrated. Kris is only cute and skating by because of all of the preteen girls who thinks "he's so cute." Matt is pretty talented, but inconsistent. Allison and Adam are, by far, the top two. I still can't see how Adam gets beat unless people vote against him because of his appearance, because he is the most talented this year and maybe ever.
The one thing that all the contestants get is EXPOSURE!
What happens after that is based on talent, determination, dedication, and lots of luck. Therefore, nobody loses on this show.
I was not surprised at the eliminations last night. Both contestants sent home were done so deservingly, and to be honest, neither of them had a shot at winning. i think it was definitely the right choice.
I've very happy with the top 5. All are great, but I'm a diehard Adam fan. If he doesn't win I will for sure never watch the show again. He is the most talented by far, and his stage presence is incredible. And he's dead sexy ;D
I like Kris a lot too, but at this stage in the competition no one seriously has a chance against Adam.
If people would quit giving the sympathy vote to Danny, then the right people will be left. Danny needs to go next. I'm very weary from him picking songs to his wife – it's tiresome and needs to stop. What kind of musician are you, Danny? That's what we need to know now.
I would like to see the actual vote tally. How do we know what the numbers really are? Also, maybe a format like Dancing with the Stars where the judges give a numerical vote which are then added up. It seems fairer to me. Anyway, I think the correct line-up is in place for a great finale. My vote is for Adam all the way even if he is calculating and working the system. He is truly talented and deserves top billing in the future.
Based on performances, Alison should have gone home last night. And – did anyone else think that Anoop's swan song performance was a hundred times better than David Archuletta's????
The only two people with actual singing talent have been booted but the typical crowd. I guess now as usual ithese TOP 5 will put your their game face on to try and win.... hope they atleast have a good game face since they dont have good singing talent.
Yep, the right people are in the top 5. There is still no doubt in my mind that Adam is the winner....I picked him as the winner during his audition and he's held true to my expectations but those that are in this top 5 are all fantastic! David Archuleta said it right last night...it doesn't end here...there are a ton of opportunities. Look at Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson, Clay Aiken....at this point, it doesn't matter who wins...they'll all have contracts and record deals.
This is the point in the season where it gets really boring for me. You know, I like seeing the wide range of talent (and lack thereof) at the beginning of the season. I particularly enjoyed this season's top 13 because most all of them were solid performers. Now that there's only five, there's not much variety left.
Like I've said before, I don't watch this show to who wins or who can turn out an album or whatever. I just want to be entertained by regular people from different backgrounds who can sing (and also by Simon who loves to slam the egos of people who think that they actually can). The business side of it doesn't interest me at all. Will I follow any of these people after the show is over? No. I'll just wait 'til next year rolls around again so that the judges can pick their next top 12 or 13.
I couldn't be happier to see the karaoke king and queen leave. I have been waiting for Anoop to leave since week 1. I was so hoping that Lil would eventually bust out of her karaoke mode but she definitely could sing – but she needs to go home and find herself first. Overall I was completely thrilled with the eliminations.

I was happy with Lil going home but I think Matt should have left with her. Allsion, in my opion should never be in the bottom. She is fantastic!!!! I am hoping it will be between Allsion, Adam and Danny, but I think Adam will will. If it was up to me though, Allsion would take it!
Well, a few more weeks to see if the Adam L. freight train will keep rolling. As much as I think he should win, I think Kris, with his lame Jack Johnson/Dave Matthews vibe, might trump the flamboyant metro-sexual, Broadway guy. You've gotta think what do all the focus-group, 12-18 year old girls want to hear on Top 40 radio & see in Tiger Beat & People mag for the rest of the summer!!!
It's really a beauty pageant now w/ a little age-ism thrown in too- Allison's too young, Danny's too old. Adam vs. Kris, urban vs. suburban, edgy vs. bland. That'll be the runoff!

I think that Lil needed to leave. She didn't seem to know what style of music that she wanted to sing. Even after the judges continuely told her that she was leaving her R&B style that got her there.
Now Anoop, I really liked his style of music, he is so smooth! He should make a really nice album.

Matt didn't do as well as I would have liked, but can you imagine the pressure that he must feel! He has a good R&B style that I like as well.

There is really only one EXCEPTIONAL contestant, and that is Adam....he is above the others and should certainly win! Lil sucked and should have been off the show weeks ago...she is one contestant who got worse as the show progresses. Black, white, or yellow, she sucked!

I am very disappointed in this years contestants. So, I don't think it really matters ,all that much, who goes and who stays. I'm not saying that anyone's really bad, they're just not "Star" quality.
Well, not shcoked on Lil being disqualified. A little on Anoop, as he has the charm and a very nice singing voice. However, I am truly shocked that Matt remained. Guess believe like imitations of a wanna be Justin Timberlake, which I am shocked the judges NEVER commented about that. I believe, Adam will be the winner. Kris is good, so is Danny but they don't spark the excitement of an audience truly. Hope the judges don't make a mistake anymore, like they did with Anoop.
This season pretty much sucks. The talent is lukewarm. Chris is good and should win. Adam can sing but is odd. I can't tell if he himself is unique or is just parodying other past singers (Steven Tyler, etc.) After watching Susan Boyle's performance, AI looks like a high school musical: rather shallow. I like the hosts and judges on Britain's Got Talent more as well. I now understand why Simon looks perpetually pained on AI; it's inane.

I think Matt should have gone home and not ANOOP. Matt was voted out last week and it's not fair to keep a reject and send someone who can sing. So racist. Wake up people and learn to be more diverse and of course Adam is such a show piece and loves to please Paula.
Wow, the next few weeks are going to be hard because I think the remaining five are all so talented. Judging from lots of the comments here, it seems that looks are getting in the way of votes. Sometimes I just sit and listen to them with my eyes shut and I can really get an idea of the better voices. Adam has the purest voice in my mind and is so versatile that he will have great longevity in this business. Although all five are talented, Adam's CD's will be the only ones I buy and his concerts will be the only ones I attend. I can't see any of the others being concert headliners with much success. I think it will come down to Adam and Kris and I don't think it will matter which one wins, they will both be successful, just one more than the other. I think David Archuleta definitely eased the pain for both Anoop and Lil last night with his advice.
I was glad to see Lil voted off. She had a very bad attitude.

When/where is Adam's concert? Vegas? When will he be in the movies? He's the next Elvis/huge star – what a find – he moves us when he sings – can listen to him sing for hours! He looks like Elvis and Kurt Russell both.

Adam blows everyone out of the water and with a little effort he could have gone pro long ago. He comes off as oh so very gracious but is he really??? I'd like to see Alison or Danny win. Adam would probably go off like Clay did and do just fine on his own merit. In fact I hope the judges see that and choose someone that would benefit far better as an Idol.
its too bad Lil couldn’t deliver amazing performances, i really liked her, but it was in fact her time to go. I feel like the save used last week on Matt was wasted... He (Matt) should have gone home last week and Lil this week... Now that they've used the "save", should anyone of the more deserving contestants get the least amount of votes, they will go home with no opportunity to come back... and we all have PAULA to blame...
I am not sure what everyone likes about Adam. His voice is ok but not great and he is just too theatrical for me. I was so bored with his performance this week. I don't even know what genre of music he would eventually choose from since he is all over the map to just get the votes. If he wins he is going to have a hard time keeping the fans because he will have to stick to one type of music. I like someone with more soul like Matt G!! Danny and Kris are pretty good too but my votes is always for Matt G. He can play at the piano, keyboard, dance, and sing. He is just sooo talented but has been pretty quiet during the competition so doesn't get the audience appeal like some of the other outspoken contestants.
Matt is too self conscious of his fore head mole. Always wants to keep it covered with a hat. Simple surgery. Gay or not gay Adam is the most entertaining, although I like Allison in the final two.

I noticed at the end of his performance he held his hands up in the shape of a heart, just like they do on the new Lenscrafter commercials. Does he work for the eyeglass place and that's why he wears several different pairs of frames?

Yes, the two sent home were predictable. I could send two more home right now, but we'll just wait it out. So far I have agreed with all the selected dropouts. Not that they're deadbeats, but only ONE can win. There is only one hopeful that has it all.
Finally they got it right and did send the right ones home. The next one that needs to go in my opinion is Adam. While sometimes he sings ok he does to much "screeching" and I don't thing there is a wide enough fan base for his kind of so called talent. So that in my eyes makes it only four deserving left and that is a hard call. Danny is good, Matt is good, Allison is even better but I think that Kris is like a sleeping dog and people need to wake up, he is so talented.
Should've been Lil and Matt – he's not done well the last 2 weeks and Anoop was coming on. It really bothers me that
Allison doesn't have a strong fan base and isn't as "pretty" so, despite her amazing talent, she's not a strong vote getter. Adam is by far the most talented Ido ever.

I can't figure out why Allison can't connect with the audience. She's probably the second-best singer left after Adam, and I prefer her voice to his shrieking. Sometimes Adam comes off as a female impersonator with impeccable vocal control. He can definitely bring a performance.
I'm never surprised by who goes home, just the order of elimination. Last night everyone knew it would be Lil, my guess was either Matt or Anoop, didn't matter. Although, I do think Matt is the better commercial talent.
I also think it will be Kris, Danny and Adam in the finals, I'll be surprised if Allison makes it, she has been in the bottom three too many times to go much further. So next week, it will be Matt or Allison.
I did read one post I thought was amusing, the one about Danny ruining the Rascal Flatts song. I'm not at all a country lover and fast forwarded through much of that week, especially the horrid performance by Carrie and what's his name. But I thought Danny made the song wonderful, far better than the original. Was it the following week that Kellie Pickler performed? That one confirmed my belief that you don't need much talent to go into country music, yuck.

Wrong, wrong, wrong,....I agree with Lil Rounds getting booted...but not Anoop...it should have been Matt...(Matt is a bit creepy and looks older than he says).
I think the elimination is going accordingly so far. It is sad to see all the racial comments.. This is a singing competition. Lil just didn't bring it. She sounded the same all the time and I think her CDs' would all sound somewhat on the boring side. Anoop had a beautiful voice and I imagine he will make it out there on his own as some of the past Idol runner ups have. It is very hard to say who is better over another when they all have such unique styles and qualities of their own. Depending on the song they choose..ALL can sound absolutely amazing.
I agree on the Adam thoughts of above posters...and seems a tad unfair to allow someone with previous professional agendas to compete. He is almost frightening in an Elvis/Kiss sort of way.
I am not crazy about Matt's singing style and feel he may go next and definately agree with others he should never have been saved. They should have kept the SAVE until it was down to three. THEN we would have an amazing finish.
Allison is a little keg of dynamite and will most likely have a very successful career after Idol.
Kris has a smooth voice and I feel he will be in final THREE.
I think Danny has reached the end of his "talent rope" and will probably leave the rest soon.
I would like to see Kris and Allison in final TWO..but I imagine it will be Adam and either Kris or Allison.
It was very nostalgic for AI to bring back the old timers but was also unbearable to listen to.
This has been a very talent filled year for AI and some VERY good talent was lost earlier. I think the judges should make allowances for forgetting words in light of an extremely talented singing voice.
From the first audition I saw Danny I said, this guy really has a chance to win it all and I still believe it. Adam is talented, no doubt, however he manages to make every song the same high pitched overacted performance which is not what entertainment is all about. Danny has a real grasp on consistancy. Lest we forget Taylor Hicks.....another loud obnoxious "one of a kind"......he was dropped from his label. Now someone like Carrie Underwood who has her style and consistant with everything she sings is the most decorated idol yet. Kris is OK, nothing against him and we already have a Justin Timberlake in Hollywood....don't need another, sorry Matt and Allison will still get picked up......not because this competition though, male competition this year is way to powerful.
I said last week that the use of the save was a waste. Matt doesn't deserve to be be in the top 5. His performances have been fairly bland and karaoke. Anoop, struggles to find songs that suit him, however he's by far the better singer, no question. Lil was long overdue to make her exit. I really liked her before, but each performance since Hollywood week has been forgettable. I like what Kris has done over the past few weeks. He "gets it", where Lil did, or could not. My top three in order, Adam, Kris, Danny. Matt goes home next week unless he pulls off a miracle. There's little question that Adam is running away with this year's show. The battle for second is all that's left, and Kris, Danny and Allison are really too close to call right now.

People really make me sick with all the racist crap. Lil is talented yes but she doesnt have the talent or maybe the ability to pick the right song like the others do. Why can't we vote for the best and most deserving without having to worry about someone saying it is racist? I knew when she was voted off that someone would claim it was b/c of race. That is so ridiculous. I am far from prejudice, I have 3 biracial kids (half black) but it makes me so sick that America has to be always walking on eggshells because someone always wants to throw out the race card.
I think Allison and Danny should be the next two to go. They are both really overrated in my book. But seriously, can someone tell me why the judges love them so much?? Allison has a raspy, middle-aged smoker's voice, and Danny is just boring.
I'm growing weary of people screaming racism simply because a black person was voted off. To all the whiners – not everything is based on race. Not every bad thing that happens to black people are due to someone being racist so quit trying to play that worn out card. If Lil could have kept up with the others in her originality and performances, she would have stayed. I for one was rooting for her but the reality of it is, she was a bit weaker than the rest. Someone has to get voted off so just because Lil happens to be black, it automatically must be racism. GET OVER IT! And for one to call the remaining top 5 "white trash" is ignorant and offensive!! How would you feel if the term black trash was used? There have been quite a few black contestants who did quite well on the show and went on to do quite well after the show so your argument is pointless and unfounded.
I definately think the right two went home. When you measure the talent of the two that left with the 5 that stayed it's unmistakable the difference in vocal maturity, creativity and performance ability. I think Lil could definately sing, but she lacked creativity and although I loved Anoop's voice I just don't think I would buy his record due to a lack of versatility.
I guessed the bottom 2 would be Anoop and Lil. It makes the judges save look even better. With 5 left (even with 7) the bottom 3 isn't so bad at this stage. The majority will be the bottom 3 this coming week.
A very predictable show. Lil and Anoop have no talent. She was a wanna-be Tina Turner and Anoop had nothing else better to do and looked so out of place. The real competition is now underway. I don't think Allison has what it takes to get through, once again I find her style too "red" and raspy cigar voice is old and tired of listening to. Danny is ok, but needs to punch it up. Kris is the country boy who wants to be a star, and Matt is just making it through. We all know that Adam is the winner, and has the style and edge to do it.
With Anoop gone, who cares to watch anymore? Not me. I just watched my last American Idol episode.

Matt is talented in his own way. He can sing well, and makes his own version of what he sings. But, he lacks the fan base to win. I predict he or Allison will be next to go.
Allison is a jewel. She is young, and has learned so much! Her career will sparkle in the coming years, but I predict she or Matt will go next.
Danny is clearly going to go far. He has all the right stuff and is building a good fan base. But, he can't compete against the top two.
Adam is a great performer. He will do well on the Broadway circuits. His stage presence will only get better and better.
Kris is the winner, here. He has it all. Vocals, arrangement skills, stage presence, fan base, and he knows how to compose. An all around musical talent. He is already working on albums, and will sell a lot of records. But, if he does not win, he will come in a close second and his career will sky-rocket from here on out.
But, the top five are all talented people, and I predict we will be hearing a lot from each of them in the coming years.

All of these folks are top notch. The top three can have successful careers in music.

I still think that guy who sang "Song for You" in the Hollywood rounds was a top five talent in this competition. I think he should have been kept.
I'd say yes to Anoop and no to Lil...Although it's so tight right now and with such few contestants, she probably would have gone next week anyways. I just feel that Lil still had a lot of life in her and she still sounded great on Tuesday night. I agree with what Simon said to Anoop on Tuesday night...that it wasn't as good of a performance as he and everyone in the audience thought it was. He has just been bland the last few eeks and it was time for Anoop Dog to be let go. I don't like Kris and I thought he should have been in the bottom rather than Allison. I guess all the teeny boppers out there are voting for him. I find him and his guitar, very bland and boring. I still don't like Adam as well...He lowered his voice for the song and just when I thought he was doing good, he started to screach a line and it made me crinch. Again, all the teenage girls out there must be voting for him. It's defiantly a popularity contest at this stage so the last few weeks now are going to get very interesting...
I agree with last nights decision of sending Lil and Anoop home but I am surprised that Allison was in the bottom three instead of Matt. I personally think that Kris and Adam will be in the finale and I see Adam winning even though I would like to see Kris win. As for Matt, he would be good if he didnt over do all of his songs, trying to hard to make it his own style. Adam is very talented but I wouldnt buy his cd if all of his music sounded like it has been on the show. Its to whiney for me and very feminine sounding.
American Idol is fixed. Adam is just a little to good to be discovered by a televised talent show. He is going to win for sure because he can sing and sometimes put on an entertaining show. I do think some of his songs are a bit boring. His version of Ring of Fire is Unforgiveable however.
Those of you crying that a minority contestant can't win.... do the names Ruben Studdard & Fantasia Barrino ring a bell?! They won back to back in Years 2 & 3 & the judges pimped them both all season long. However, neither of them should have won, IMO. Clay Aiken clearly deserved Season 2 & both Jennifer Hudson & LaToya London (both women of color) outsang & performed Fanny nightly. Sometimes the fix is in for certain black contestants, so stop whining.

Animated: I agree with you about Adam. Even he admits that five years ago he would not have been "ready" for this experience. But now? He plots and plans each and every move, and he isn't a stupid young man. I almost believe that he and AI would be better off choosing Kris as the American Idol, I think Adam is too big for a 19 contract. With the exception of playing a 'romantic lead" Adam can do it all-he is a fantastic singer, dancer and actor-the so called triple threat. I can also see him in movie roles (again, everything except a 'romantic lead'-the truth is his gayness does not matter as far as most things, but noone is going to buy a boy/girl on screen relationship). It also does not hurt that he has a reputation in the industry of being dependable and hard working-not to mention being a really nice young man.
Given this industry savy, is it possible that Adam will 'throw" the competition to avoid the oppressive contract that AI imposes on the winner? I can't see him performing the generic love ballads written for American idol winners. He is already a household name, so he has gotten everything out of AI that he can get. He used AI, and God knows they have used him, but a longer term relationship might be the kiss of death for his career.
I continue to be impressed by Allison-16 years old and able to handle the pressures and stress, not to mention grinding schedule of American idol. Her vocal range is limited, but I think she will do fine.
Yes, I am satisfied with the remaining field. Aside from Alexis Grace and maybe Jasmine Murray, these 5 were clearly the best of the top 13. It's going to be pretty tough from here, but I think at least 4 of the 5 have a legitimate chance of winning.
AI producer's got the end result right. Why Allison was in the bottom two? Not Matt. That was the producer's drama.
BTW, It will come down to Kris & Adam for the title. Next to go, Matt (unless he pulls off a miracle), then Danny. Remember Adam's there for the exposure, something tells me he doesn't want to fit in Ent19's box. I think Kris is the dark horse, as others have said. It's shaping up to be an interesting finale.
Adam supporter here, and I do think he will win this thing hands down. However, I'm just so confused over all these folks thinking he's just an act and playing the game. This guy clearly has a sincere appreciation for music. I think he's very genuine, and even when he mixes it up (and looks a little too Elvis or Eddie Munster-ish), he's still Adam. Also, if you've paid attention, you'll notice he's the only one to give props to the band on a regular basis. Actually, I think it was because of Adam that we finally got to see the band on stage last week – and they rocked. This man loves music and it shows. Now if only he'd learn to play the guitar and/or piano to complete the picture!
It was time for Lil and Anoop to go. They were the least talented of the remaining contestants. It's going to be tough now. If only they could get rid of the smug, boring Danny we'd have a good competition. However, Matt, Allison, Kris and Adam all deserve to be there and they're all talented in their own ways.
Just when Anoop is really turning me on, he gets the boot. Story of my life. The reason people vote for him is because he has a beautiful voice at his best & at his worst, is some pretty fine eye candy. Plus he's just likable. Not enough enjoy his style of music, adult contemporary, which is sad. There are plenty of legendary artists who are in that genre & because of the ignorant, strict formatting of radio can't get their music heard. I think someone will offer Noopie a deal & with the right A&R & management, he can have a nice career. As for Adam, why doesn't anyone ever mention that he has 17 years of PROFESSIONAL experience as a musical theater actor? Why is he even on this show?? I feel bad for the kids this year who truly deserve to win (Allison, Kris) but will be usurped by a pro. They picked the wrong season to audition. I pray that future years will not be stacked with professionals when they see how easily Adam is allowed to claim the crown from the amatuer kids this show was supposed to be about.
Wow, the bottom three was all minorities – women, black, Indian. Sparkling white male top 4 – 3 of whom no one would buy an album from. See Taylor Hicks. In fact, Danny = Taylor. Last time I checked, Taylor was singing at a housing complex opening in Louisiana. He'll have a partner soon if Danny wins.

America got it right! I am so glad Lil got eliminated. She wouldn't listen to very good advice. What amazes me is last night. She performs the song again and this time it was great. If she had of sung like that Tuesday she may still be here. I am glad she is gone the karoke was getiing old fast! Anoop is great love ballad singer. I wish him well he has a nice voice but it's just not the wow factor voice.
You have it all wrong people, It will be Matt, Allison, Danny ,Kris and Adam will win, not that i want him to "GO KRIS" if you have been paying attention allison has been in the bottom several times, Kris has a llot bigger fan base than Allison, and im pretty sure he will beat out danny, it will be close between him and adam, allot closer than allot of you think!!!
Thank you Alison! I couldn't agree more. Adam is just too over the top. I don't know about anyone else but I am just so fed up with Ms. Paula Abdul. What she says, how she gets up and dance for only certain people. This is the first year I've really watched this show and quiet frankly, I don't see myself doing it again if she is still around.

Finally America got it right!! The top 7 this year was amazing though, they all had a lot of talent! Lil needed to go, and Anoop can sing, but he wasn't going to win. I really think it might be Adam/Kris in the finale... but they're all talented, and we'll be seeing a few of them around for a while!

Matt should have gone home instead of Lil. She can outsing him any day. She had laryngitis when she sang and was lucky to be able to sing at all. She got a bad rapp from the Judges and that sways the voters. Danny is the real thing. I say Danny and Adam are the top two. Heart outdoes stage presence. Your songs have to sell on the radio and play well to a wide audience.
I will miss Lil and Anoop and looking back at their final video last night I forgot how far they came. Especially Anoop...he was the first ever 13th contestant and he has been shuffled around yet still he stood. Good for you Anoop! I'm ready for the finals...let the battle begin for the top spot with what I think will be Adam and Danny battling it out in the end.

Yep, the right two left!!!! I think Allison should be the one to win but she lacks the stage presence; I think she is getting better and for her age she is fantastic. She has a great voice and the power of Pat Benatar.......Adam will probably win but he is more show than anything else...Matt will be next...I think all of the remaining 4 will do well for themselves no matter who wins.....

I think that the correct two went home. I also think that the third spot they put in the bottom 3 is sometimes fixed. I think if Matt would have been in the bottom 3 again, it would have highlighted the fact that the Judges Save is just a stupid idea. They need to get rid of that and the 4th judge next year.

What a disappointment! I have not watched "American Idol" for quite a while and when I watched it last night I couldn't believe the poor quality of the contestants. You guys have hit rock bottom. Where has the talent gone? I suspect it has gone to the Brits!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys need to check out Susan Boyle. Now THERE IS TALENT!!!
I fail to see how you can listen to someone yelling and screaming, and worse yet, watch women half dressed or wearing skin tight clothes parade around on stage to be considered talented entertainment.

I refuse to watch any more episodes of this show. There is no way that Lil could have lost. America did not "vote her off", the racist show producers "kicked her out". Now we are stuck with yet another white idol. The show is rigged, and is a slap in the face to African American talent, and African American society as a whole. We don't need yet another no-talent white trash, we need a strong and charismatic African American. There have been plenty, but as you can see, are typically never allowed to advanced past a white. The next AI should have been Lil, but white America won't allow that.

I agree with the departure of Lil and Anoop from Idol last night. Though I believe Adam to be the overall best I think it's still possible for one of the other remaining contestants to perform so spectacular in their performance that they could overtake Adam and win Idol. But Adam has been so good and original with all his performances that I just don't see that happening.
I loved Lil the first two weeks when she sang blues but she hasn't been her best since. If she goes on into the music world, she must sing jazz/blues. Anoop was good only one week in my opinion. And I don't get Kris. The judges love him; I think he is average. I suffer each week hoping Allison will be all right. She is amazing! Maybe viewers think she is too mature or something. Danny must start getting a bit theatrical. Adam will win.
I believe the American public chose the right two. In all honesty, their past performances just don't measure up to the top two in the competition. Adam Lambert appears to be a natural born talent with song and dance. He has what they are looking for.

Anoop really hit his stride a few weeks ago when he switched to singing ballads and getting away from R&B. I thought he should have been eliminated a while back, but his last several weeks changed my mind. It was clearly time for Lil to go – she hasn't grown at all. In fact, she has probably regressed. Personally I think it should have been Matt and Lil, with Anoop going next week, but whatever. The judges have already saved Matt twice now – at some point they won't be able to to save him and the voters decision will stick. It is pretty clear that the final 3 will be Adam, Kris, and Danny.
Matt should have gone before Anoop! Now I am pulling for Danny or Kris.
Anoop has a great voice but I guessed it would be Lil and Anoop or Matt. I think they all have a shot at a career if they keep their head straight and stay focused. They have gotten a glimpse at what it takes.

Lil was rightly a goner tonight and the other could've easily been Matt or Anoop. And if I remember right, Ryan never actually said that Allison was in the bottom three.

I agree with you 100%. Adam just comes across a totally fake to me. He is definitely playing the game. He "knows" he will win, which is why I so want him not to. Also agree that he is extremely talented, but the put-on is too much for me to stomache lately.

Matt's singing was absymal – the Bee Gees (the ones that are gone) were probably turning in their grave at his amateurish rendition!
Lil should have been gone a long while ago, I don't think a single performance after Mary J's Be Without You in the Top 36 that was anything to shout about. I don't know what the judges see in Matt – the whole JT copy cat thing is really getting on my nerves. We have a JT, why on earth do we need another JT – that too a wannabe! At least Anoop had some originality and wasn't blatantly copying anyone else. Sorry to see u go Nup Dawg but hopefully just like Daughtry and JHud...u will rise and have the final laugh.
I think the right two left the show and hoopefully Matt will leave next week - he is just not that good, and not memorable. Alison has a voice style that is unique and memorable. But all in all Adam will win the whole thing - he is absolutely brilliant.
I miss Anoop already. I definitely wish they hadn't used the save last week, because then I think Anoop would have made it through to next week at least. I knew he wasn't going to win, but he's definitely my favorite.

As for who goes next, logic suggests that it will be Matt and Allison, because they have both frequently been in the bottom three, whereas Adam, Kris, and Danny never have been, although the fact that Allison is now the only girl in the competition could serve to help her stay around a bit longer.
If the top 3 turn out to be Adam, Kris, and Danny, I don't know who wins. Danny's talent is minimal, but he has a compelling "back story." Adam is the clear favorite, but as we saw last season, sometimes the underdog pulls through at the very end. Kris is talented, plus I suspect he will pull the "cougar" vote, much as David Cook did last season.
Ultimately, my hope is for an Adam/Kris finale, with them both having successful careers regardless of who wins.
Please, Gokey should go next week! He messes up, is the same old messed up performance every week, is arrogant – loved how he said he thought he could dance tonight – ha! – and Matt has it over him in the talent department.
Yikes! From start to finish, this AI episode was a total train wreck!
– The lip-sync'd "dance" routine blew massive chunks, a glaring testimony to Paula's directing talent (woof!)
– The "3 Old Fat Divas" segment had me covering my ears *and* eyes.
– The sudden slam-dunk expulsion of Lil was down right cruel. Sure, she was long overdue to hop that bus outta town, but c'mon, where's the grace, AI?
– Archie's singing was breathlessly awful, and his patronizing the bottom three was almost as embarrassing as his name-dropping.
– Even the Ford spot was terrible.
The only thing that went "right" was the voting – over which AI's crew thankfully has no real control – or they'd have screwed that up, too.
This show has reached the point that it's not safe to watch without a barf bag within quick reach...
No clue why Allison was in the bottom three....had she gotten voted off, American Idol would have gotten voted off of my DVR. Adam Lambert is so hugely overrated at this point that it makes me sick. Adam could go on and belch the alphabet and America and the Judges would EAT IT UP! It would be considered BRILLIANT! AMAZING! No matter what he does the Judges LOVE it.
Not surprising indeed. Minorities being kicked off reality shows. That happens about 90% of the time. I wish anyone of color would just boycott these shows since there's almost a slim to none chance they'll ever win. The allure of being on TV is too great for some, so I doubt the boycott would ever take place. Too bad, it could mean the end of reality TV and America could get back to having good television.
After the performances last night, I am CERTAIN that Allison received fewer votes than Anoop (she sucked the last two weeks) but the producers just couldn't let her go. It's fixed, people!

WTF kind of Results Show did we watch tonight? If FOX and the AI producers decide to finally end the show's run, the show tonight will be the deciding factor.
Even though Paula Abdul was choreographing, you still can't get a group of people to learn a dance in less than a day. When they got on stage with the costumes, the makeup, and the horrible lip-syncing, it was just a mess personified. It was just a bunch of cliche dance steps that they couldn't keep together.
It was nice to see the legends from the disco era, but their performances coupled with the group choreography as described above, looked like a campy, cheaply-produced variety hour.
On top of all of this, David Archuleta's performance, which showed us vocally that he's finally gone through puberty, just seemed awkwardly tacked on to a night of the 70's gone horribly wrong.
I found it extremely difficult to watch this results show. It barely got my attention and was, in my opinion, the worst results show I've ever seen.
Oh, and the departures of Lil and Anoop didn't surprise me at all.
I think we're finally seeing the gradual demise of this once ratings-juggernaut on FOX.
Adam cannot sell CD's. Let's remember what this competition is all about. Adam is this year's Lakisha. He will be gone before the end!

I have no complaints with the two who were sent packing tonight. I would have been just as happy if Kris, Danny or Matt had replaced Anoop as they are all very interchangeable and forgetable. They should be the next 3 to go. In fact I found their performances downright painful last night.
Loved Paula's choreography. We sometimes forget how she came to sit in that seat. She's talented, darling and most of all funny. Love her million dollar smile.
Lil, you knew she was gone, too bad she didn't sing as like she did tonight for the last couple of weeks. She lost her soul somewhere and didn't find it until her heart was broken.
Allison, you better do something with that look sister. Bad wig, bad outfits, unbelievable voice. Adam and Allison are by far the most talented. She just needs a MAKEOVER. 16 or not it's no fun looking at dead dog ugly. She can do better and we all know it, unfortunately, she doesn't! Danny let's hear a hard core Rock and Roll number out of you! You're great too, but we need something different next week.
This is the top five I hoped for. The voting will be painful from now on out because these five are all very talented. I do believe America has gotten this correct. America got it very wrong tonight. Anoop had the truest, purest voice of all the guys who were still on the show. I think Anoop will be star in the music industry, around the world, long after the other four undergo puberty, and lose their falsetto! Let's have a "cowboy" music night, and see if either Adam or Kris can sing anything that calls for sounding like a man!
The 2 that went tonight were definitely the right ones, even though I like Lil. Anoop lasted much longer then he should have..and I don't know why on earth Allison was in the bottom 3, America may need their heads examined! My top 2 are Adam and Allison..and even though I was not a Kris fan, these last 2 weeks he has won me over..so he is my number 3. Matt should go next, he should not have been saved anyway. Danny has faded and he should get the boot. But I will be voting hundreds of times for Allsion next week to try to make sure the silly teeny bopper girls voting out there for"cute guys" don't destroy the chance of the last female left on the show. Her voice is 2nd only to Adams!

I respect you honesty about not knowing your songs because you are a good reporter and very simple one without show off you are doing a good job . But for lisa resper france who critics singer lil round because she shows she didn't like her personnally .I agree she has to much of show movement that she has to stabilize but lisa you should not go that far to treat her as mediocre .and above all that you gone too far to critisize Anoop Desai facial hair that's pure descrimination and racism . you dont have a clue what it takes to sing on stage because I did it for 15 years world wide and in hotels . you dont like lil round thats why you critisize her . and what give you the credential and experience to critisize singer lil round she is beautiful and have the most beautiful voice of the A.idol just she has to work on her stage and her syncopes and it takes time . if you are not a singer and not writer and never been on stage do as Reggie does be honest .find another job because I see hostility in you toward lil round and I know why because she can dance and you can't . people like you who cut young people potential and their hope short . you producer shoud find you another job because I am fan of CNN and reggie and others but not you. I have always thought Anoop Desai had a great voice. I am surprised that at least twice there were some boos in the audience including tonight. His interpretation of a You Were Always on My Mind and OOh Baby were outsanding. Even though some of his earlier song choices weren't the greatest I wonder if the booing is indicative of racism.
I love DANNY GOKEY. he can sing to me anyday. Matt will be sent home next. I like Kris, but I don't think he has the fan base. Allison has had some close calls so she might just make it in the top 3. Adam is terrible. I was scared while he butchered "ring of fire". they should have rated that portion of the show "R". I would not want small children to have to deal with that. In past seasons it wasn't all about changing around songs. Adam distorts the songs WAY too much, he has terrible acne which shows on stage, and he squeals like a pig when he hits high notes. I can't even watch him and his eyeliner perform every weak. He needs to go back to Broadway and be the next Pipin or something.
Anyway Danny is steal getting a record deal, probably Kris too.

The right two went home and I am hoping for a Kris/Adam/Danny performance- and I hope it comes down to Adam and Danny because they have the best voices. Well, so does Allison...but she's a little bit weird and I think this is a guy's competition this year.
I agree with the many who acclaim Adam's amazing talent but think he's better suited for a career on Broadway. The more I watch the contestants, the more I find myself rooting for Kris ... when you judge them on who has progressed the furthest ... who has worked the hardest and taken the most chances ... who has grown the most as a performer over the past five weeks .... it's Kris, hands down.
Adam started the competition as a professional performer. American Idol is supposed to be an amateur singing contest.
I think Matt will be the next to go, followed by Allison; with Adam, Danny and Kris making up the top 3. I would like to see Kris win with Danny or Adam taking second place. Adam will have a great career regardless.
The only two that need and should be in the final two, based upon talent, entertainment quality, marketability, killer vocal ability, and overall appeal and the ability to sustain within a musical market are Allison and Adam. Adam will win easily but it should be Allison that wins and leave Adam free from contractual binds so he can continue being creative, innovative, current and blowing apart TV screens and stadiums. But...Adam will win and then we will all have to pray that finally someone, somewhere writes a song for the winner worth buying.

Ok, let's face it...this year is a re-run of last year. Although Alison is only 15 years old, this is a reminder of last year with Cook/Archuleta. Besides that...I am tired of watching her mother/grandmother cry into her hands every week....what drama! I do not think the judges should have wasted their save last week on Matt. The two who should have been goners should have been Matt and Anoop (dawg). While everyone believes Lil Rounds was correct in being voted off...she remains my favorite contestant.
I think Anoop should have been in the top 5 and they should have kicked out the guy who got saved last week who really does not have talent or looks but then I am not a teenage girl. Annop will do well in whatever he does.
No I wasnt surprised at who was sent home. Anoop although a great singer didnt show such a wide variety of sides to his personality, and didnt create his own niche like Adam Lambert and Chris and Danny has done. Anoop played it safe. Lil although a great singer as well didnt in my opinion have enough range, she seemed to struggle in the lower notes and seemed to copy the orginal singer which made her very forgettable.
Adam Lambert has it all, the look, shows his multi dimensional side, and most of all his emotions when singing seem sincere and adds so much to the song he is singing. He is star quality without a doubt.
The elimination format was certainly not what I expected but the results pretty much were; personally I was pulling for noop dawg to stick around for @ least another round. Tonight for the 1st time he seemed to connect better (trade term = emote) with ppl; usually his performances seemed to die near the apron of the stage but tonight he looked relaxed & he took it to the audience which, for me, made it one of his best performances ever. I just had an interesting thought; Ryan nvr really said that Allison had fewer votes than Matt. All he really said was that Matt was safe & she was in the bottom three. We will never really know will we. All I'm saying is for the judges to have used the 'save' on Matt last week only to see him eliminated tonight would not have looked all that good on their part; hmmm, I wonder....
These top 5 were my pick from the beginning when we had a top 10, so right on target. I hope Matt does well in the next few weeks and hope he pulls through.
I think Adam is playing the game well...but he is playing a game...I would love to see a Kris/Allison finale. When they opened that group number together in the top 9 week you realise how amawing they both are.
To me Adam is too fake and is an actor – he is very talented but I just don't think AI is the place for his talent – he should have tried America's Got Talent. I used to be a Danny fan but I've had enough of him. I think Matt will be out next week but then it could really go any way
I'm sitting here right now reading all these blogs and watching Jay Leno and there's this chick right now singing....I have no clue who she is...but she sounds just "horrible" and trust me, she would never have made it on American Idol....I don't know how some make it in this business and some don't...just boggles my mind!

I agree with Michele on the picks, but I think Danny should have gone home back when he screwed up the Rascal Flatts song he sang and back when he refused to take the advice Smoky Robinson gave to him back on Motown night. The guy doesn't listen, he does his own thing, doesn't hit the right notes, forgets lyrics (as was very apparent in the Rascal Flatts song he sang a while back), he just needs to go. He's only skating through cause he's the Widower and he's getting pushed through. I don't think anyone can beat Adam. There are really awesome contestants in the top 5 this year and I'm betting that most, if not all, will be looked at for some record deals even though they don't win.

Sorry to say it, but Anoop was atrocious, and anyone who voted for him should have their head examined. I was sad to see Allison in the bottom 3 – it should have been Danny. Seriously, this guy is Taylor Hicks all over again, i.e., boring with a high school show choir sound. On the other hand, I was happy to see that Matt will continue. And, to anyone who is truly a musician and/or knows music, it is clear that Matt is a real talent. He is cut from the Robin Thicke, Carl Thomas, John Legend mold. His vocals are amazing, and he is phenomenal on the keys. I hope America is smart enough to realize this.

It is not only the sound –what music will the Adam Lambert be most successful, but also the Visual, the video component of the entertainment segment – the moves, the dancing, the styling both the personal look and the fashion.
It is a very clever endeavor and I am so excited that someone who has such wide-ranging talent has the acumen to plan his career this way.
Because the ultimate beneficiary is me – the consumer. When someone makes smart moves to find the best way to get me to purchase his music, I feel I am treasured by him and I will reward him with my loyalty- my brand loyalty.
Madonna and everyone else who sold multi platinum music did the same. The only difference in the case of Adam Lambert is that he has the talent to match this entrepreneurial assault. Can Madonna sing Mad World and make it work? I don’t think so . Can Lambert dance and sing Holiday and make it work, Yes sir!

Anoop was MUCH BETTER THAN Matt, Danny and Kris. Adam is already a winner. BUT C'MON, I CAN'T BELIEVE MATT, DANNY and KRIS ARE GETTING MORE VOTES THAN ANOOP...............................................................WHAT'S WRONG..............
Allison should win it over all, sh so very talented, no question about that at all.
Matt should have been out....his voice is not strong enough to carry him to the final two. Lil should still be there, making two girls and three guys. Everyone knows it will be that Adam cat...but he needs to get his acne under control first!!!
Kris Allen is the best all around talent and can carry the stage.
I miss Megan...her style and voice could do any Natasha Beddingfield song. Let's vote her BACK!
Adam will definitely win. I'm upset Anoop went home but have faith that he will be big even though he didn't make it to the top 5. Honestly, the winners don't necessarily do the best. Look at Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson, Elliott Yamin, and Kellie Pickler. Oh, and Chris Sligh, who penned Rascal Flatt's mega-hit "Here Comes Goodbye." So I still am positive he will be a huge star. Also, I was happy Lil Rounds was sent home because she was really annoying, even though she has very strong vocals. I hope it is a Kris, Adam, and Danny finale. (because none of these guys have been in the bottom spots) I think Matt or Allison will probably go home next week.
For this week, the two that went home were the right ones to go. No surprise there. Now for next week, I already predict Matt or Allison. Adam, Kris and Danny...........down to the wire.
It was the right 2 eliminated. Now it gets tough to call. I see people love Kris but I've never really gotten him. Then there's Matt who is great some weeks and other weeks it's a big miss. Danny also has lots of fans but I'm not totally crazy about him. I'm picking Adam all the way for the win but the order of the other 4 is hard to call.
I agree Adam 'NOT' so much his voice more then his stage presence.
Going to take something special to beat him.
the right two went home but Danny should have been in the bottom 3 instead of Allison!! Hopefully next week people will have had enough of his 'same ole same ole sounds the same every week' & send him home.

Based on performance, Matt should have gone home this week – not Anoop. I really liked Anoop's performance this week – minus the last note of the song. If Lil had sung last night like she did tonight, she might have pulled it off...
Okay, I was hoping that Anoop would get a little further, although I didn't feel he was strong enough to win...I don't really believe in the "save", because, like Simon said, Matt is not going to win....so, he will be next, then I think Danny or Allison, Kris and Adam will win. I knew that Lil would be going home tonight, but was not 100% sure that the next one would have been Anoop.
Im glad those two went home..it was their time. Im rooting for Adam and Kris to make to the finals!

KRIS IS SAFE! For me that is all that matters! Lil and Noop Dawg were bound to bite the dust. They did it gracefully though, And Matt still in this, that must be some lucky hat! Ihave to say once more: I'M SOOOOOO HAPPY FOR KRIS, HE'S GOT AN AMAZING VOICE AND HE MAKES EVERY SONG HIS OWN! LOVING YOU KRIS. KEEP IT REAL!
To me, Lil sometimes delivered good performances but like the judges always said, she lacked improvisations. And to compare her with the other 6, she deserved to go home.
Anoop was the dark horse, he can definitely sing but like Matt G, sometimes he picked the wrong song, which I believe last night was it. He didn't have fun when he sang.
I just sooo hope that Allison will be saved. She doesn't deserve
to go anywhere!
And...just for the record, there are too many commercials for one
to even concentrate on the competition...my goodness; Ryan and the judges are talking so fast, its hard to keep up with them and most
importantly, the contestants are passed over so quickly; at this
point, this year, its unenjoyable.

Absolutely the right pair were sent packing. It's going to be tight between Allison and Matt for that 4th spot next week.
i think the right two went home. we all knew Lil was just bidding time. the other spot was between anoop and matt. they are good, but not like the top four. David A's performance and even Kelly Picklers performance were great reminders that these kids this year, really raised the performance bar.i think the top ten will do fine, all of them are better artists than some of the past winners
