Did anyone else notice how big Quentin Tarantino's feet are? His shoes were amazing...
i'm ready for matt to get voted off so he can get a recording contract and move on. he sings circles around these other people. i download every song he performs. seriously, who would even buy a cd from Anoop? or any other ones for that matter. maybe danny or chris. matt is the only one with a great recording voice. the others aren't even in the same league.
Too many commercials and too many judges have ruined a good thing. I would like to see the audience voting which category of songs the contestants should sing since we would potentially be buying their CD. I think Adam should sing "Welcome to the Jungle" because he sounds so much like Axel Rose.
I think Randy should go. Man this man that and can we get to the point. We all wait for Simon's comment so 4 contestants were ripped off last night!
It is quit obvious that the top two is going to boil down to Allison and Adam – they definitely have the most unique and entertaining talent, although I do have to say Allison seriously needs to get a better fashion statement (her outfits make her look frumpy) – As for Danny and Lil, I am just disappointed and wished for a much better outcome from the two of them. The last three Matt, Chris and Anoop just don’t have what it needs to be a true musician in the big world especially Anoop with those horrid school sweaters he sports, give us a break and dress your age already. Judge wise it is obvious to most everyone that Kara is some want-to-be and needs to get out of dodge she is causing the show to go over for those out there that live the DVR world.

I agree with Reza's comment for the most part. Too many ballad choices out there, although I thought that Kris' performance was quite exceptional. Adam seems to be enjoying the ride, but he overdid it a little last night. Anoop showed off some smooth vocals that'll keep him safe this week. Allison did a good job with her selection, but I still can't help but hearing Cook's finals version in my head. Overall, I don't think I will remember this week too well.
Apparently, the two-judge system didn't really work on squeezing Idol within its time slot. The entire show seemed very rushed, and only allowing half the judges to comment only serves to unlevel the playing field. Too many commercials in between singers is the obvious problem here; I'd cut down on breaks and promos to fit into the allotted time. Having to wait in between almost every performance is ridiculous.
Tonight, I see Matt and Lil being in trouble. If anyone had to go tonight, I'd pick Lil. Based on her performances throughout the top 13, she started off as a mother with plenty of promise but never actually delivered. In fact, her Country Week performance is the only one I really liked. She never really picked a song that fit her voice well. If she does leave the show I wish her the best of luck because, indeed, she has a good voice.
During the recaps, sometimes for performances they might use a dress rehearsal run for a particular contestant's clip for whatever reason.
First, 4 judges are too many, and I cant remember Kara's name half the time, and last night pairing of judges w/every other contestant....DUMB.... For me I get a feel of how voting is going to go by the comments. And when Randy didnt like Rick and Kara thought he was wonderful, I would have like to have known what Simon and Paula thought, and how will this all work when they use their save. This week I hate say it Anoop did a great job, nixed this week has gotta be Lil, sorry lil, I too also loved you in the begining, not sure where you got lost, my picks for final three-Adam, Danny, and Matt, Luv u though Kris!
Adam will win hands down. He's the best but Danny and Allison are in the top three.
LOVE ANOOP. HE IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!
GO TAR HEELS!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think Lil is going home. Anoop has surprised me the last couple of weeks – before that he was THISCLOSE to going home but he's started to redeem himself.
I've never liked Adam really, all he really does is stand up there, wave his hands, and screech like a banshee until my ears bleed but he toned it down a little and actually sang "Born to be Wild" fairly NORMAL for a good part of it. I liked it better than all his stuff before this but that's really not saying much. I don't like saying this but I think he will most likely win unless he falters really, really, REALLY badly in the weeks to come. If he does, the only way I'd buy his album would be to burn it.
The only time Allison should be in the Bottom Three is when there's only three of them left.
The season is becoming kind of stale and I think it's going to stay that way until the Top 3 or 4, we're just kind of coasting along at this point. Very predictable, except for Anoop.
Quentin should have chose the songs for the contestants last night. The show was abysmally boring and the only song choice that was unepexted was Kris choosing a song from Once.
Anoop was strangely good and Adam was unhinged. Keep it simple Adam, don't try throwing too many tricks in at once.
By the way, during the re-cap of the contestants' performance at the end of the show, Adam's re-cap performance was different than his actual performance. I compared the two and adam's movements and singing are different. check it out if you still have last night's show saved
and i thought the show was live...
I don't get Adam, I think he's good, but not great. I would love to see Anoop, Danny & Kris as the top 3. I think Paula is nuts, she looks medicated most weeks.
I predict:
1. Kris (Dark Horse in competition, pop friendly, good looking)
2. Adam (doesn't want to win, just the exposure)
3. Allison (Can the judges say 16 enough?)
4. Danny/Matt (great, but so so)
5. Anoop (likable gets you only so far)
6. Lil ( can't take the heat, or suggestions, ciao)
anoop has beautiful voice.
I agree w/ Jas, Kara needs to go, if I record AI, I also fast forward her, I cant stand her. Where did they get her from, and what does she know about excelling in the business? I hope they get rid of her and seems Simon doesnt care for her as well, looks like Paula doesnt either, you dont see them talk. Adam is unbelievable, I couldnt believe the song last night–it was soooo good. I have a feeling he's going to win it.
my pics from best to worst:
1. Adam
2. Allison
3. Danny
4. Anoop (most improved)
5. Chris
6. Matt
7. Lil Rounds (most consistantly disappointing)
hated the team judging.... Simon should always comment period.
4 judges is too cumbersome, and annoying. Surely they can find a better choice than either Paula or Kara! How about Dolly Pardon, she would be a fun choice, smart and witty, and a soft side next to the more harsh Simon.
get rid of stupid adam and his prancing around! ewwwwww
Good point. Someone else mentioned the audience and how they intrude on the time. You're right. AI knows by now that if any of the judges say something that could be the slightest bit negative the audience is going to boo. So instead of the judges addressing the audience, the show should just up the mic and the judge talk right over the booing.
Someone else mentioned how Adam must be a pain to work with. Oh, I very much disagree. It's obvious the band loves to work with him. He's the only one who gives them credit every single week – whether it is a hand to the band in the balcony, or verbally praising them. But there is never a week he does not acknowledge them. And last night he acknowledged both them and the backup singers during his performance as well as the end. I suspect Adam is easily their favorite person to work with this year. The other contestants have yet to acknowledge them.
Judges week is coming. Every year they get to pick a song – last year Simon sealed the deal for David Cook when he picked DC to sing First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. I guess Judges week will come with a top 4 this year, since we have the 4 judges? Hopefully Simon picks Adam's song, Simon is always inspired and original with his song choices. Paula and Randy are always much too easy and safe.
Anoop did his best performance last night, but I still think he's the weakest overall and should be depart. I'm not giving up on Lil, what a great voice – just needs to work harder at song selection and whatnot.
Adam blows me away. I need to hear him a few more times, but he may be my favorite idol ever. Currently, Daughtry is my all time favorite.
My top 3 would be Adam, Danny and Anoop. I love them all, not only their singing but their personalities.
Adam is so talented with his vocals; the control he has, his range, etc. Danny has a wonderful voice and just gets so into his music. Anoop had a GREAT night last night...he picked the right song and did it WELL.
Allison has a good voice but still needs to work on her personality. Lil needs to develop her voice a little bit (pitch problems - which means that she is either sharp or flat), although the tone of her voice is great). Kris and Matt are good but bland.
Just my thoughts 🙂
What little we saw of Quentin I loved. Too bad the show couldn't fix their time management issues so we could see more.
I'm one of the rare few who loved the 2 judges. Yes, it may seem unfair that the contestants didn't get to hear from all 4 judges. But Randy and Simon typically agree anyway, especially this year. And with the 2 judges, we got to hear more instructive feedback from Simon and Randy. I liked that. With that said – the show better figure out their time management issues before next season or dump the 4th judge in the off season.
Show went overtime because of Lil's talking back. Hopefully that alone will send her home. And the bit of filler in the beginning when Simon blamed the girls for going overtime last week (he was right on that mark though).
As for the performances, another boring night. Ballad, ballad, ballad. I came away from last night with the idea that only ballads were movie songs, and Bryan Adams is the end all be all of movie music (sigh...)
I was expecting more. But here's my grades:
Kris: A more emotional performance than Danny's.
Adam: A- vocals outstanding, play with band good. Music arrangement not my fav.
Anoop: C vocals smooth, needed "roughed up"
Danny: C- vocal ok, obvious song choice, good musical arrangement but wasted the harp
Allison: C- vocal rough, boring song choice
Matt: C- great vocal & piano beginning, downhill when band came in. weird and bad vocal run.
Lil: C- pop start blah, gospel middle good. AI overtime due to her talking back. If she would have stuck with a gospel feel for the entire song it would have come across much better.
The reason they are going long has nothing to do with the judges or how much they talk. It's the commercials. They are endless and boring. I'm glad I record the show and then watch it when it's over so that I can skip through them. But it always seems like I'm fast-forwarding forever before the show comes back on. Someone has just gotten greedy for the advertising money. That's all that's going on. Probably nothing they can do about this year either because of the contracts that they've signed with the advertisers. But I certainly hope they learn their lesson for next year.
My btm 3 – Chris, Anoop, Lil Rounds with either Anoop or Lil going home.
My top 3 – Adam, Allison and Danny
My top three picks after last night.
1. Anoop
2. Kris
3. Danny
Let's see.
My top three: Adam
Danny
Kris
I think FOX is adding commercials to make it long on purpose.
They want people to watch the show in real time so that they
don't skip the commercials. It really is that simple.
Logically, there would have been no need to change anything
this week, since there was one less contestant! Since they are
changing the format (2/4 judges per contestant) it shows that
they are really just manipulating the viewers.
Go Adam, Allison and Anoop!
AI, please hear us loud and clear – Kara needs to go. No one can replace Simon and Paula, and we don't need the redundancy Kara offers. She doesn't have any niche personality to add to the panel. If you don't have time for 4 judges to comment, don't hire a fourth judge – it's just that simple! As for the competition, best season so far... thank god VFTW hasn't had an impact like previous seasons.
wait for it...who cares?
I didn't care for two judges speaking. The judges' critique is the heart of the show along with of course the performances of the contestants. All the rest of the stuff is what should get cut first. And frankly I just don't think Ryan's schtick is funny. It's very very old and sets the wrong tone for the show. Take a cue from Dancing with the Stars and be respectful and appreciative of the judges. Cut the schtick and they have plenty of time for the heart of the show.
I liked the fact that the show moved along much more quickly with only two judges speaking each time. The fourth judge adds too much time to each round of comments, and while Ms. DioGuardia seems to know what she's talking about, she doesn't have the kind of appealingly quirky individualism each of the other three has. QT didn't seem to add much. Why don't they go WAY outside the box and get somebody like Emmylou Harris or Patty Griffin or Mercedes Sosa to mentor? (Somebody who always sings truth.)
Stuff I've gotten really tired of:
"I had fun [out there, singing it, whatever]" I don't care if they have fun or not – I'm the audience, and I'm the one who's supposed to have fun.
"That's what this contest is all about." It's a cliche whatever they say it about.
Adam is a competent singer, but he's too much like a Disney-created generic rock star. I can practically see the bobblehead doll.
BOTTOM 3:
Lil
Chris
Anoop (I did like the song last night)
Danny's style of singing reminds me of Elvis Castello. He handles his voice like a fine instrument and knows how to reach into your heart with the song. He has a very good voice.
Adam's experience shows, if you like rock and show, he can do it.
Allision is awesome and pure rare talent. She is going places. SHE CAN SING.
Matt is good at singing the blues.
Anoop surprised me with his performance, it was good, unfortunately his facial expressions don't cut it. He looks scared most of the time.
Chris is cute. That's all.
Lil, did lil
TOP THREE: Danny
Allison
Adam
eb
What was Quentin T. trying to accomplish. He added nothing technically to help any of the performers. He is a move director not a vocalist and quite frankly added nothing to the show at all. He obviously is a fan and someone on the show owed him a favor. He should stick to directing movies and leave any musical direction to someone who know what their doing!!!
I did not like the 2 judge thing. It is unfair to the contestants. And, it is unfair that they are rushing the people at the end. I suggest you go to an hour and half program at this point. You certainly have the advertisers so the cost factor should not be a problem. I would rather the show be easy going rather than the viewer feeling it is being rushed to get everything in by 9PM. I found myself mentally pushing the commercials to be over and done with in a hurry.I don't think anything else should be changed because the show is wonderful. I have been watching since the beginning and love Paula, Randy and Simon, and Ryan. He is great at what he does. Go to 1 1/2 hours and you will do yourselves a BIG favor.
Once again, we have Adam Lambert to thank for an electrifying Idol experience at least once during last night's show. There is definitely some talent in this year's group, but none of them come close to Adam's originality, voice, and star quality. Where has this guy been?!
Since Simon is always the "last word" and most spot-on critic, it was quite disappointing to only hear what he had to say every other time. This is a huge mistake- especially since his facial expressions reveal so clearly what he thinks but there is no opportunity to rebuke him because he isn't speaking! If the girls would move it along a bit faster and Paula and Simon wouldn't take up valuable time play-fighting with each other like 10 year old kids, the time budget would be fine- with all 4 judges getting a turn every single time. Think about it, producers, please!
I've watched AI for multiple years, and being someone who grew up on the 70's, look to these potential "artists", to show me what they are able to bring to the world, that is unique and different, and has not been done before.
They are all "gifted" in their own way. However since AI is all about marketability, and who can earn the record labels the most money, in the shortest amount of time, and not be a "one hit wonder", consideration needs to be given to who can cross the most "generations'" of listeners.
That being said, Adam and Danny seem to appeal to all generations, by being the most "flexible" in their song deliveries, through their individual interpretations. Matt and Anoop somewhat fall into this as well, but not as consistently.
Allison and Kris are young and unique, and appeal to the younger crowd.
The real question is who spends the money on the CD's and Downloads, and which AI contestant can appeal to the vast majority of those that purchase?
I forgot to say....does anyone else notice that Paul A. acts like shes drunk sometimes...?
Once again, I thought Adam was great. I would not hesitate to go to a concert where he was the head performer. What an entertainer! Everyone else was mediocre.
Simon needs to judge every contestant!!! Its his opinion we want to hear!!!!!
Anoop need a new hair do...something not so 3rd grade ish.. a new look cause hes got a nice voice.
I can't stand the 16yr olds voice....what sthe big deal...To me her voice sounds like shes been smoking all her 16 years.
My tivo didn't even tape Adam last week when he got the standing O from Simon cause the other 3 judges besides Simon go on and on and on...and the show went so far over time...
If you have to have only 2 judges to judge you have to change something somewhere else. There is alot of wasted time.
Or Simon to have to judge each one. n Hes makes the show.
Everyone hates Kara, but I contend that at least what she says is constructive. Paula babbles and makes no sense and she cannot say anything negative about anyone, so that makes her useless. Randy is just an idiot. I only care about Simon and Kara's opinions,
Randy's sweater might have been the ugliest thing I have ever seen.
Adam can sing well, but he is too over the top.
It is Lil's turn to go. She has had high expectations since the Hollywood round and has yet to live up to them.
Anoop, Danny and Matt are my favorites, followed closely by Kris and Allison.
All in all, talent-wise, it is the best season in years.
Quentin Tarantino? Why?
To be honest, I can see everyone who is left recording a song after American Idol is over that I would enjoy listening to. I think they all have solid vocal skills and live and die by song choices and arrangement.
Everyone hates the two-judge thing last night, and it leaves me just wanting Idol to end right now with no winner. It also seems that Ryan, Randy, or Simon don't seem to be all the way into it this year. I think by now, everyone knows (except Kara) that Simon is the reason we watch the judges and maybe the show. Even the contestants have historically liked him the past few years as opposed to the first few season where they hated him.
Disclaimer: I know this show is a machine of the music studios and a very profitable marketing tool. I don't view it as a fair contest, but assume that the studios always act in their best interest to maximize popularity and profit. They are in the drivers seat until at least the end of Hollywood week. Video editors let us see what they want to. I wish Danny's friend made it, he was good!
So with all that being said, give them all a contract and stop the show. Here is my contestant critiques:
Adam – Last night's rendition was the only song I thought that his falsetto shrieking fit. Otherwise he is a throwback to hair-metal of the 80's (which I guess studios don't mind the 80's music in the 00's). If he wasn't gay (or overtly Californian), his songs would be a little more appealing after the Idol stage. He is definitely a star though.
Kris Allen – He has strengthened his image during the competition, because at first I thought he was terrible and didn't deserve to be in the top 13. However he seems to be doing really well for himself, and fits the young soft rock groove like John Mayer or OAR or The Fray. Thank God he doesn't remind me of James Taylor every week.
Lil Rounds – She finally picked a song that made me like her. I always knew she had a strong voice, but didn't really know if she had a decent range. I think her disagreements with the judges doesn't help her popularity with some people, but by the time she starts trying to record music she will find her way and Idol doesn't matter.
Danny Gokey (Geico?) – Obviously he has a throwback voice to some adult male singers of the 80's, I think it appears he has no chance to get beyond adult contemporary music. However, his vocals are almost always strong/consistent and I think he could surprise some people with his music. He is as capable as any of picking out the right songs to win, but I wish him a new identity with his success so that he can record some good music. He probably already has the identity but doesn't get much time on idol to brand himself.
Allison Something – Didn't do a very good job this week. I don't like the times that she sounds like Amanda of last year or Jefferson Airplane's singer. She has the capability of mixing in power though without doing that and sounding like a 70s rocker chick or just belting or screaming. She is a great singer, though, and I think she has the talent to not sound like a local festival staple.
Anoop Dogg – That's his new last name apparently. College frat boy has no potential large market for how he is. However, if he continues to mix ballads with R&B successfully he will define his own market. Like Hootie and the Blowfish, he'll never receive respect but he could probably make some good music. We'll see how he brands himself (I hope we'll be able to see it).
Matt Giraud – He is my favorite singer in the competition. I don't care who he tries to sound like, he has a lot of range even if he is not as loud or powerful as others. My only skepticism is that I can't help but think there was a reason why he was only a dueling piano musician. I think he has a lot of potential for Post-Idol success, but since I don't fall into the music-buying demographic I guess he could slip through. He is the best though for my ears and anyone who can do Stevie Wonder so good is a winner. He was really good last nigh also.
TMT,
I don't know how well you know music, but Simon is "usually" dead on with his critiques. He isn't always right, but typically he is. His problem is that he doesn't deliver his critique in as nice a way as the other judges do.
Even when Randy is being negative, you can hear in his voice that he is trying to say it in as kind a way as possible.
Simon doesn't need to go, I really hope he stays.
Okay, first of all – three judges is all you need. Period. Kara is beyond annoying and goes on and on worse than Paula ever did . It's like those two women try to out "analysis" each other. Second, I agree with everyone saying Ryan should be muzzled.....he is too full of himself and have found him boring the last couple of seasons. Third, just sing the songs – why do we need mentors other than to "fill time"? And lastly, last night Anoop was the only one that blew it out of the water! Adam was his usual great self, Danny was suprisingly not too good, Allison was cute but that flaming red hair needs to go away and I'm sick of hearing how old she is. The others (Matt, Lil and Chris) are just chopped liver in my humble opinion and will slowly be eliminated.
I think they did the contestants a diservice by not allowing all 4 judges to comment. As well, I like to hear Simon's take on things because quite often he says what I am thinking.
Alright, I hear almost everyone. Here's my take – bring back all the judges. Two as a team is not smart. We ALL want to hear what SIMON has to say about ALL the contestants. Why? Because his is the opinion that really has substance. Randy, you have to be better than, "from me, to you" , "Dawg" and " it is dope!", before you have me joining those who want to vote you out. Your childish play at booing at SImon is just so..old and boring.Paula, be clear when you speak and don't always react to what Simon says. Idol could do without Kara.
Lil, what's wrong? I know you have the biggest voice out there. Who has been advising you with your song choice? Allison, get a fashion advisor. You are a amazing young talent. Go girl!
My top 3 – Adam, Allison and Danny. I hope we the people get it right. Let these 3 belt it out and wow us and let the best win!
I thought Tarantino was horrible as a mentor. He directs movies, not music. Did the music business run out of performers that there was no one better to mentor? Telling contestants to "grind" their voices on songs that need no grinding? I couldn't believe it.
Paula dances because she is enjoying the performance. I don't think it takes away from a contestant and "their moment". I think it lets a contestant know that they are doing well. And, she is apparently enjoying the performance.
She is ditzy at times, but, I love the fact that she isn't afraid to express herself (in her dancing), she always tries to say something positive (even if it IS only about how nice someone looks), and I LOVE the banter between Paula and Simon.
Yeah, I agree – it would be a bummer if Simon left the show. He's about the only one who gives honest critism and provides direction on how they can improve. And he's the only one who calls Paula out when she's incoherent. And Paula is a meglomaniac if she thinks we give one hoot about her chiming in on top of Simon's opinions, worse – it detracts from her even more, amazing she can't see how embarressing she's making herself out to be.
American Idol should allow viewers to vote to throw out any member of the panel of judges. Simon Cowell will surely be the first to be voted out. He is preoccupied with Paula all the while, he is too full of himself, and it seems no matter what the contestants do, it is not good enough for him. No wonder the audience boos at him every time he opens his mouth. Get off and get out Simon.
Quentin Terentino as a mentor are you kidding me!!!!! Is he looking for some talent for his next Blood fest movie. Why not have Terrel owens or steven spielberg as mentors next.
I agree with the one word – ADAM
Based on last night's performances, Lil should be the one to go home. Overall, the night was okay. No stand out performances.
Though I think Adam definately has "it", his performance last night was good, not great. He has had one other night that his performance was good (not great), but typically, you can really expect something really great from him.
I also thought most everyone gave good performances, again, not great. I guess my husband and I didn't hear what the judges did when Allison sang because she seemed off key a lot, but I do like her.
I really hope Simon doesn't leave. I think it will make a huge difference if he isn't there. I agree that Kara needs to go. She definately knows music, and its really nothing against her, its just there are too many judges – three is plenty. Last one on board should be the first one to go.
So I hated the 2 judges thing, but I don't think getting rid of Kara is the answer...I actually really like her!!! Make the show longer, take out commercials, just organize the show better or do whatever it takes to get all 4 judges comments in there!!
That being said, I love Danny!!! He would be my pic for winning the whole thing!! really like Adam, he is by far the most talented this season, or any season for that matter, but I would NEVER buy his CD, so not my style!! Kris also was awesome this week.
Sorry Lil, you do have an amazing voice, you just need to learn what to do with it!! I think its your turn to go!!
2.Adam
1.Allison
Idol is a train wreck! They've really failed their viewers and it's not fair to the contestants.
Once again Adam blows everyone away. The guy is untouchable. The show has been over since day 1.
Allison was clearly the 2nd best but a very, very, distant 2nd.
Seriously, nobody has even a remote chance of beating Adam. He is the only one who has all of what takes. Everyone else is missing pieces.
Kara needs to go, she is annoying.
All 4 judges should speak, or 3 if they get rid of Kara.
This season sucks and they all pick THE WORST SONGS!!
Eliminate Paula please.
She is disrespect to the contestants by dancing when it is
their moment. And, disrespectful because she can't let the
other judges talk. Simon does not interrupt her; yeah he
makes faces; but she is just plain rude.
I will be greatly disappointed if Simon leaves.
Last night the only disappointed for me was Matt.
I really liked Kris. This is what is great about the music industry,
we all get to hear the music we like.
When I heard Tarantino was the mentor, I was aghast ( and I love Tarantino movies – er, for the most part ). But I was pleasantly surprised by what he contributed – which is performance. Singing isn't enough, you need charisma, you need to connect emotionally to people through the song – the difference between a great singer and a star ( it's called American Idol – not America's Best Singer ). Taratino's coaching was genius, in my humble opinion.
GET RID OF ABDUL, please, pretty please ... with sugar on top! Not sure how she's an anybody in the music business – she did well as an artist, but the business side of this gig she's a burn out. My fear is the only reason she's there is negative entertainment value ( i.e. people enjoy laughing at her – that's a distraction from what the show should be ). Kara is fine to me, leave her in Adul's place. That said, she actually had a few comments worthwhile last night, maybe she's finally growing up.
Adam – well, well, well. Best singer/performer since Daughtry. First one in a long while I said I would buy his cd now. In my book, maybe the best idol contestant ever. Not sure he'll win – this show's predictability for who will be most successful isn't 100% accurate.
I think, this is the time for Lil to pack her bags. Idol contestants need to remember a few main points....tuned voice, song choice and politeness, to get our (viewers) votes.
The sad thing to this season is the incompetency of those behind the scenes!! There is so much wasted time on the show and yet they can't get their crap together enough to STILL end on time!! There was 1 less contestant and only 2 judges talking, yet they still ran over??!!! All season long the last two contestants have been cut short with 5 word comments from the judges while all the other contestants get the full winded critique.
I prefer to hear from all 4 judges rather than listen to Seacrest ask a couple contestants stupid, irrelevant questions or ask the judges pointless questions in the beginning of the show. How freaking hard is it to open the show with a contestant singing instead of waiting 5 full minutes??
I was completely shocked that I was 15 minutes late in watching AI and found I had missed only 1 performance. Allison doesn't impress me anyways. Finding out that only 2 judges were allowed to express their comments was definitley not a good idea.
Anoop can sing better than Danny. There is no reason why Danny should continue. I remember a time when Simon Cowell kept insisting the show be about actual talent and to "not let the emotional and personal stories cloud the lack of talent". So why is he all nice to Danny? It's not about being "mean" his wife died but that doesn't give him an all access pass to become the winner of AI!
Kris is a great singer as is Matt. Lil I think is being judged harshly by simon bc he truly believes in her and she keeps letting us down. She really needs to stop caring about the judges and just freakin wow us already!
Adam. I love Adam. I really truly feel bad for the other contestants. No matter what genre, what song or what style, he is a performer and is multifaceted. He will do great things even if America doesn't choose him as the #1 pick.
Goodbye Lil! It's time to go. Kris, Adam and Danny you were all super! You guys will be in the top 3!
Wow, am I glad this week is over. I think Lil has finally done herself in. Adam rocked as usual, Danny needs to step it up, and Allison is an incredible singer, but not sure if I really liked her song choice. Anoop sounded pretty good, but he's boring. Kris & Matt really need to make better song choices too!
I can sum up movie theme night with one word (sort of): yawn.
No one really impressed me. I am over Adam's screeching – he is great for occasional entertainment but I could never just sit and listen to a cd let alone sit thru a concert. I see him more on the theatrical stage. Of all the movies over the years is this the best this group could come up with? I have to really question the advice contestents are given. Danny seems the most well-rounded but even he fell short. Chris has real moments but not enough of them. The rest just okay.
I don't think I've ever been so disappointed! ALL of the performances tonight were weak. I feel sorry for Lil – she obviously has the voice and is trying to please the judges. In fact, I think that's her problem – she keeps trying to please the judges instead of just belting it out as she did in the beginning.
I loved Danny in the beginning, but he seems like a one-song pony these days. He needs to really step it up, if he doesn't get kicked off this week.
Bottom 3:
Anoop
Lil
Danny
Top 3:
Adam
Allison
Matt
2 judges speaking won't fly with the audience. The show was too rushed and it does take away from the whole concept of the show. I do hope Fox is hearing us and taking note. Last night wasn't fair to us or the remaining singers looking for critique of their performances. Maybe next week with 6 singers Fox can get their act together and use the time so they can put on a good show. Last night 's time management I hope we don't see repeated in the weeks to come.
I was not impressed with last night's show. Of all the performances I would say Allison stood out and Adam came in second. I think we finally see the end of Lil Rounds...her notes were all over the place...I have to say though that she's a classy chick and wish her the best. I'm a huge fan of Quentin Tarantino so the show was worth watching if only to listen to his take on the idols.
I'm just fed up with these clowns going over time and ruining the next show. We like to watch Idol and then Fringe which is the same network right after Idol. But, they ruined the end of Fringe yet again!! The director of Idol needs to speed up the nonsense from Ryan and the dumb long comments from Paula. Enough already!!
If Adam Lambert doesn't end up having a stellar career I will be amazed and Kris Allen what a surprise talent-hope he keeps shining as well. I hope the buying public from two different gendres appreciates these two rock solid performers.
The last time Tarantino was on the show sat at the table as a guest judge and was really good.. His comments and perspectives were spot on every time. What he understands is that the performance has two elements, technique and emotion and those have to add up in a way that equal entertainment. So when he mentored the performers the perfomers instead of judging them he tried to help them to "sell" the song when they sing it. In that, yes he's doing the same thing he does with actors. However, just like all the mentors, he's clearly been coached to go easy on contestants and limited in time so he comes off as boring and unhelpful as all the rest.
BAD show last night for a lot of reasons. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Allison but she's starting to get Danny Gokey disease. The symptoms are singing every song the same and treating the verses as just a little bit to get out of the way until you can show how big your voice is. Gratuitous displays of vocal prowess is not the same as effective singing. I know she can do different because she did tender so well with the Bonnie Raitt song. I do see her in the final 3 but I don't see her winning.
Adam was the same as Allison last night even though I think he's one of the most exciting performers the show has seen. It was forced, over the top and by the numbers. I think he's a really smart performer. Notice that he never pisses off the judges by being snippy or cute and actually seems to hear what they say to him. My feeling is that he saw everyone else choosing really boring power ballads and knows that the best way to get remembered is to do what everyone else isn't doing and chose to rock-out.
Kris was better than Randy gave him credit for. It was a restrained performance where the vocal served the message and he downplayed the cute factor. It was a weird and unsatisfying arrangement though. I think the song probably needed more time to successfully cover it's emotional arc. I was loving the singing even though Kris isn't one of my favorites and then it was over before it felt finished. I'm thinking it was a last minute edit for time since he went near the end.
I've always hated Danny. All that simpering, white bread, inspirational thinly veiled pandering to the god-squad is just so FREAKING TIRESOME. He has ZERO star quality but the same people that made Carrie AI's most successful winner will just love him. At least the other two "nice boys" (Matt and Kris) actually dare to sing the occasional song in a different style and show some dimension.
While the numbers are obviosly still phenomenal. It's clear the show has lost its rudder and all the trying to fix it are just making things worse. The fourth judge, the "save" and the judges "entrance" are all examples. Way too much of the show is about trying to make stars out of the judges and it's getting really tiring seeing Simon pull faces while other people are talking or singing. I think he's an example of an adult who never grew out of his childhood ADD yet still managed to become successful and now he gets to act out his need to be important and have his petulance tolerated.
Lil is in trouble as is Anoop, Matt and Chris, i see where ppl are wondering if Adam is gay, who cares the dude can sing!!! The lilttle rocker chick was off last night, but got a good revue; go figure! I do not see Danny making it to the final 2 especially if he keeps trying to win with the synpathy vote. get up ther and show your talent son!!! sing for the right to be there. The hole night was "just okay" me except Adams performance. This is the first time my wife got to see him and she was like Whaaatt!! Yeah he is what Idol is all about. The rest of you pick up the game or pick up your bags you are going home.As far as the time frame alotted for the judging; what the hell is there one too many? or just too much intro information? Maybe Fox needs to get off the time and set it aside for Idol seeing how it packs in the most watchers that they have for any TV show. Or like someelse suggested get the damn corny commercials out of the way; either have less or shrter ones. its about the singing and judging you Clods!!!
7 songs of no more than 2 minutes – 14 minutes. Critiques that are no longer than the songs – 14 minutes. That leaves 36 minutes last night of commercials and other assorted AI garbage. Quentin Tarantino has absolutely NO reason to be involved, except maybe Fox thinks he's bringing in more ratings. Come on – Chevy Chase was there, at at least he was in a music video once – why couldn't he have been the "mentor"? At least he's entertaining. And has Paula completed a sentence yet this season? We need subtitles to translate what she's saying – she makes no sense at all.
Song choice – can we please have a Judges Choice week??? Please? Or Fan's Choice? Lil' can't figure out they want a song done AFTER she was born, so it would help her out. And I'd love to see what they throw at Adam to do, and then how he'd twist it.
One other note to Fox: Put Idol on at the same time each night. Having the second show on an hour later keeps many kids from watching what is one of the few wholesome shows on tv. Instead a show called "Lie to Me" is first shown, what kind of message are you giving kids? Put AI on at the same earlier hour the second night.
4 judges are necessary, the two at a time just doesn't cut it. Paula never actually judged, she just, once again, declared how much she liked them. No critique at all, just rambling praise. If I were up there I'd want to know what I did right AND wrong and how to become even better, not just I love you mans............lol.
As for Kara, she is spot on with her actual critiques, very intelligent suggestions while caring for each contestant. I want to hear specific suggestions, not just "dogs" from the other judge that rarely judges, he just wants to be cool. Simon and Kara are the only judges that truly judge.
Adam is unbelievable, you can't wait to hear what he's going to do next (I'm 57 and I love his style and amazing creativity). GO ADAM
Adam
Allison
Kris
Anoop
the rest are forgettable
Perhaps next week they can just have the contestants sing duets and have all four judges speak. Or, as one poster above said, just gag Seacrest.
This was by far the worst Idol show this year. I was kind of surprised Gokey would go so far as to have a harp onstage. Where were the angels? Talk about manipulative. cheese.
Judges need to learn to limit thier critique, that's what makes the show run long. Kara and Paula can get long winded. I also think they need to reign in the audience a little bit. They clap way too long and interrupt the judges (especially Simon) that hold up the show. Shut up and let the judges talk, it's rude to not let each contestant hear and learn from what the judges have to say.
Wow....my husband, who never watches was in the bathtub, I had
Idol on loud...........without seeing or knowing anything....he said
Adam was the only stand out. Isn't that interesting? It really
doesn't matter now what happens. Adam is a star. I hope
Danny steps up his game. The young red head, whose name
currently escapes me....that's it. Although, truly, Anoop was very
good last night. Lil Rounds-Man oh man–that wasn't good.
Especially the end. Bette Midler would be flippin in her grave if
she was dead! I can't wait till they come to Milwaukee! :-0
Boring night except for Adam and Kris. If IDOL would stop being so greedy and not have 7-8 commercials in one break, all the judges could speak... Ridiculous. And go back to three judges next year minus Paula. She takes forever to talk and no one listens to her anyway!
I called to vote for Anoop and got through every time . . . not a good sign! Adam's song and Lil's song were the only two I would never want to hear again. Although I'm sure some of the contestants were thinking "Ok, but what would Simon say?" , it was a relief to sometimes NOT hear from him or Paula. (although he was childishly rolling his eyes and making faces when he didn't get to talk) Generally, all of the contestants seemed run down to me – maybe they need some time off! Maybe they are just tired of going through the motions while everyone is ready to crown Adam.
ADAM WAS AWESOME> HIS VOICE REMINDS ME OF (QUEEN) Simon was dead wrong on this one. YOU GO ADAM, I like that he is staying true to himself.
If pushed for time, leave out the "guest" advisor. Quentin T added nothing for me as a viewer. I spent most of the evening trying to figure out how a guy that directs shot after shot until he gets it right (movie directors do that) is going to help a singer with one live shot at a song. Plus...he is a little goofy. The show is better if they stop tweaking it. TV does that...if it is great, let's fix it until the viewer gets upset and stops watching. Shark Jumping 101
I'm sorry Lisa but I have a very, very personal opinion...
I'm sure you watched that clip about that older woman who sang in front of Britain's got talent, right? Can I say something? Do you know what's a wake up call? I know you have your own definition but do you know what's actually a real wake up call? One example can be if your son is doing drugs in the back alley and while you keep telling the whole block he is a good kid, not like theirs. Want another one? Another example can be if your husband doesn't come home on time after so many months, even though he tells you he'll be on time BUT something always came up. Do you know where I'm heading at here?
My point is who the hell gave you permission to say, what one person can dream or not? Let's be fair, if there's anyone that should be ashame is the contestants, let's get that out of the way BUT what did they mean when they say they didn't expect that? I mean, why? Can you please tell Simon and all those celebrities(even in Idol) why they didn't expect it? What did they mean when they said they were surprised? What did they mean, huh? Here, let me give one example...say you've been skinny for a couple of years. One year has passed and you gained some weight. So, one of your siblings notices and tells you how much different you'll look. Will it bother you because your own family member told you? Or would it bother you more if a friend or someone you meet after, tells you instead? I guess what I'm trying to say is, next time when you judge someone, you better make sure you judge him or her right, we don't give a crap if its on National T.V or not, we don't give a crap...
So here, if an unattractive, didn't dress up, and different looking girl would be on American Idol, will tell you the hosts to also say they were surprised to see a person like that or as they like to call it, have a wake up call? I know there's been idiotic and unorthodox contestants before, I know that and quite frankly, they got no one to blame but themselves BUT just like they said in Britain's got Talent...is time to have a wake up call and what better way than me to explain it.
I'm sorry Lisa but will you tell the media that they are a bunch of morons, will you? And you know what's the sad part? Even if she probably didn't have a nice voice, she'll still have so many hits just because of what they said about her. So, that's how it is, huh? You judge people to be on this propaganda show and to look for fame, even though you don't even agree with their philosophy, right? Ohh and Lisa, can you tell the media they are bunch of morons. Why?? Because we don't mind making them look like fools at all.
Ohh and did I mention today is a normal day now?
I ain't gonna lie, I didn't like how that went so we decided to give YOU a wake up call...if you know what it means.
I beg your pardon, I meant this show would suck WITHOUT Simon!!!
Bottom 3 IMO should be Lil, Matt and Kris. I know Kris wont be in the bottom three, but I simply didn't connect with his performance and was underwhelmed. I liked him much better the past two weeks. Anoop flat outperformed him this week, but he's not as popular. Lil or Matt should leave tonight, it's a tossup. Lil has had a string of bland performances and now she tosses in poor attitude after completely butchering The Rose. She really doesn't get it anymore; I miss the old Lil... If I had to choose one to go, it's her. No saves this week.
Simon is the main reason I watch American Idol, this show would suck with SIMON!! Randy is cool. These two beautiful women, Paula and Kara are better off to be judges in Miss World. I only enjoy watching them dancing, their comments are senseless. Simon and Randy are the key judges in the American Idol.
"Guys,
Idol is just getting ready for Simon’s exit. They’ve done this so far:"
If that is the case.. the show will BOMB.. Simon IS American Idol. Without him the show will not succeed.
Sorry, but this year's show is lame. The only one with a GOOD singing voice is Allison and the "judges" keep criticizing her attire. Dumb. Sorry, but I find Adam affected, effeminate, somewhat arrogant, and a huge drama queen.
Lambert is definitely unique and talented but he does go over the top with his screaming. But he entertains. Young Allison has by far the best potential as a rocker chic. Lil has a big voice but seems confused on what to do with it. The rest are ok but a bit boring.
100% agree with Courtney's summary of the contestants' performances.
Quentin Tarantino knows music insofar as it is related to scoring his own films. The soundtracks to all his films are amazing, and I give him credit for that. He knows the end-product (the song), but he is not qualified to mentor the creative process involved in interpreting the song.
Watch the episode again and see how many of the contestants took his advice. Very few did. Watch especially the blank look of Anoop when Tarantino coached him to use a gravelly voice and to use his arms to emphasize some of the lyrics. Yep, didn't do either of those in the performance.
I think they should get rid of the introductions. we all want to know what simon thinks. but i thought he was rude making faces while the other judges were commenting. him and paula need to get a room. Adam is the only one worth watching. the rest are zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Loved Adam last night. Danny my second choice, than Allison.
This is NOT the Ryan Seacrest show, people.......next week I truly hope the producers gag him (I can hardly stand his voice and drama any more...) and allow the four judges to do what they are supposed to do....JUDGE. As long as they are adding a fourth judge, perhaps they should also return to dual hosts, like in Season One.....give us some RELIEF from Ryan.....
Totally agree on cutting down Ryan talk time, limit was he has to say and the show will be better.
Don't like the "only two judges" talk. Ruins the whole feel.
Not an Adam fan, but thought the previous couple weeks were better, last night he went back to the Adam I am not a fan of.
Don't like Allison.
Thought Matt messed up a bit.
Thought Anoop did great.
Lil peaked early, and is now paying for it.
LOVED Kris and the song from Once.
Thinking bottom three might be Matt, Lil, Allison
This is now (has been for a couple of weeks) a contest to see who comes in second. Adam is mesmorizing and I only watch the show to see what song he is going to do each week – he has never disappointed me, and I can't wait for his album to come out. Probably Allison will be runner up. Bryan Adams is one of my all time favorites and both Anoop and Matt murdered those songs. There is no room to "do your own thing" with either of those two songs – they should have just done them as simply as Bryan does. I'm hoping Lil Rounds goes tonight – she is getting painful to watch. It wasn't one of Danny's best nights, but he is still a fabulous singer, and Kris is good, but he doesn't do anything for me – bland, no excitement.
I hated the two judges. Why should I feel rushed when I'm simply watching the show?! Book more time for the show, remove some commercials...do something! But don't compromise the show and reason why we watch it!!! It was almost "stressful" watching the show...come on, we gotta hurry, here we go, okay, next, dim the lights, here we go, come on, we're outta time, okay next... cut out the crap and protect the reason why we watch the show. Also...even though Lil sucks and needs to go, she won't. Two things: her color and gender. sorry, but it's the real truth. Those voters will keep her there.
All judges should comment. Get rid of Kara (she's boring). The judges comments are the best part of the show.
Lil was not as bad as Simon made her out to be. He already had his mind made up that he was not going to like her when he told Allison she was the girls only hope. Gag me with a freakin spoon! Danny was horrible, but for whatever reason he got a pass.
I don't understand how the PA's of the show can get away with running late every week. They know how long the song is going to be. They edit the intro so they know how long that is. It just shocks me that they go over their 60 minutes. Too much crap at the star, we don't nned to be introduced to the judges again.
Anyways, I'm starting to tune out, I though they were all terrible tonight, I could have fallen asleep. The only one with any energy was Adam, but I would never buy his album, can't stand him.
Adam is so far ahead of the pack....his arrangements are awesome, his stage presence is that of a seasoned veteran, and his singing is amazing. Most people tune in to see what he is going to do next. For those of you who think he can't sing, give your head a shake. As for Simon leaving the show, all I can say is thanks for the memories. He did a great job and I wish him all the best. It has been a blast.
i missed the first 5 mins of Fringe last week because this stupid show ran over.
Matt has a wonderful voice..and if he could just train it to maintain consistency he will be the best...he was all over the place last night..straining in some notes...but he still has a great quality to his voice...he just needs to pick the right song (hint : go with R&B and sing from your soul Matt!)
Adam has it in the bag and I don't care how vulgar those Youtube vids are. He is on fire. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
I think this show is winding down. It seems the only thing interesting is in the beginning when they travel around the country looking for the singers.
okay....last week we complained because it went long and many of us TIVO/DVR people missed Adams performance.(IMO...no big deal) This week they tried to fix that by only allowing 2 judges to comment and we still aren't happy and it still ran long. (I fixed my DVR to end 10 minutes after the hour so as not to miss the end) I guess some of you just can't be pleased!!! They are listening to us (ie the changes made..but get over it already!) They are not going to cut commercials becuase that is where they make the money...I wonder how much money they charge for a 30 second spot during the show? It would be nice not to have so many of them betw performances. I agree that some of the banter needs to be eliminated though.
Anyhow, I really wasn't overly impressed by any one performance, pleasantly surprised at Anoop and Kris. I'm still trying to figure out why everyone loves Allisons screech and disses some of the others for the same kind of screech... For me, everyone has had some really great performances and some just okay, so I'm still looking for the real AI that deserves the title.
Adam ROCKS.
Send Lil home.
Nothing else is important!!!!
Last night was pretty bad. There are only 2 good contestents Danny and Matt. The rest are terrible, and Adam Lambert sounds like a girl. They should always let Simon critique because he is actually the only one that matters. Thumbs way down last night for idol
Guys,
Idol is just getting ready for Simon's exit. They've done this so far:
1. Switched to four judges
2. Simon does not end the feedback each time, they round-robin now
3. They only do two judges, so he doesn't even speak every time
He does three shows (two in Britain) and he said he could not imagine dropping those two. He has one more year on his Idol contract. And to me he looks bored stiff most of the time.
I think he'll be out soon or looking for a contract bump.
I realy liked Kris' performance last night. I hope he makes it to the top 3, but I've got a feeling he's in the bottom 2 tonight. I liked Adam's version of Born To Be Wild last night and I thought Danny was solid. Anoop's best week, but I'm still not a fan. I thought Allison was pretty good. Matt had some really off key notes and was my least favorite last night. Lil wasn't that bad,but I didn't like what she did with the song. The talking back wasn't flattering either.
I hated the team judging, really missed hearing the full range of critiques. If time doesn't allow four judges, then next year's format should go back to three judges. Although Kara's okay, she usually doesn't add anything other than to echo or expand upon whatever Randy says. Paula's a flake, but she provides the "warm and fuzzy" element to counteract Simon's bluntness. For me, though, Simon is the only judge I really wait to hear. As for the contestants, although I wouldn't ever buy a CD of Adam, I think he's far and away the most talented of the group, with Allison a close second. For me, the rest tend to all blend together into a group that's okay but not outstanding.
They need to muzzle Paula, or better yet, get rid of her, and get rid of Ryan who thinks he is the greatest think since rye bread. Then the show would run on time.
They need to cut back on the mentor crap. I really didn't need to see them interact with a pop culture movie maker. He can't sing, he doesn't write songs, he doesn't dance. Just what exactly was Quentin Tartantino doing as the mentor last night beside giving ill advise? This wasting time and thus caused the 2 judge issue. Seacrest can cut back on his idiocy as well.
Adam is getting boring,, all songs have the same tempo,,,all sound the same,,,,,,,,,would never buy his music,,,,,,
I personally feel that Lil's time has run out on the show. I loved her at first and her soul-sound, but the last 5 weeks have proved that she just doesn't have it to be the winner. Her voice is pitchy and she obviously picks the wrong songs, though she has been told over and over by the panel. She should have listened.
I was really disappointed for Lil. She seems to believe that she is now a diva. her last three performances have been really bad and she is not receptive to the judges who are trying to give constructive feedback because they truly like her and see her potential.
I was a fan until last night. It is really time to do a swan song and i will bet that the judges' one save will not be used if it is Lil on the bottom tonight.
Sorry, but humble pie is good to eat every now and then. That is how we all learn life's lessons
A lost Lil fan
Get rid of Paula...she's a blithering idiot and makes no sense. Ryan talks too much and causes the judges to speak longer than they should.
My money's on Danny in the office pool but Adam is great and should win.
I like music which pleases your ear.
my choice
Anoop,
Matt,
Danny,
Lil,
Adam,
Allison
Its been said by others but if we can't hear all the judges comments then lets cut out all the fluff on the show. I thought Tarantino was awesome and some better hints than musicians have given them. He certainly improved Anoop's performance.
Shut up Ryan, cut out the fluff and put it on the result show and let us hear the opinions of the people who know the music world. I am more interested in what they have to say than Ryan, or watching Tarantino give them advice, as fun as it was.
Another option go back to three judges and one not being Paula Abdul, I always try to figure what she has taken before the show depending on what track she is rambling on that night. USELESS
Adam's voice is so far above anyone's before this year or in this group it really is no contest and we have seen him do various types of songs so why drag it out, next best Danny to iffy. He has faded after starting with great promise.
But I found him way too theatrical for this type of show, its like every performance is a stage play. Last night he was so taken with himself he was almost hugging and kissing himself on stage. WAY OVER THE TOP FOR THIS SHOW. He should just go to Broadway.
Get the judge panel back to the original three. The new addition is totally unnecasarry. The two judge commentary last night took away from the show. Retire Kara, nobody cares what she has to say anyway, it's Simon who makes the show. Change the show back to the old format or you will lose it!
Robert Graham got it right, to "Gag Seacrest....." He contributes nothing to the show and can Paula for the same reason. Thirdly, I want to hear from Simon and Randy on *every* contestant. We all already know who the top two contestants are.
I agree.. Simon IS the reason we watch AI. As much as we dislike him we LOVE to hear his comments..good or bad. KARA needs to go. She adds absolutely NOTHING to the show. She is annoying, talks to much and constantly mimics Paula. Get rid of her and your time problem is fixed. That being said. I like Adam yes, but lets face it, he has already got a record deal. Just like Daughtry did a couple years ago. I think the AI title should go to someone just as good but with less connections. Like Allison or Danny. Lil is terrible. Last night she butchered one of the most beautiful love songs ever written. All of you who complimented her are tone deaf. She was sharp and/or flat through the entire performance. Play it back and close your eyes. It is awful!! It is time for he to go home..She has not had one decent performance yet.
All sucks Adam is over rated and Lli can sing and Mr. S did her wrong, he just dont like her. His mind was are ready made up before she came on stage. Allison sucks trying to be something she not. I can
go on any street corner and hear a voice like hers.
I agree paired judge comments were a joke (especially w/ Simon's painful facial gestures in the background....) Hopefully, Paula will be off next year and they can go back to 3 judges- she says same thing all the time...'be true to yourself' and dances when she likes the performance. The other 3 offer good, true criticism- Randy; image, song choice, arrangement; Kara; technical vocal critique, pitch/key; Simon- marketabililty, general comments. Paula's useless.
I hate Kris! I think he's only there since he's 'cute' but will stay til the end since he cancels out the other 'crooners'- Danny, Anoop & Matt. Alison & Adam will make the other two for the final 3. Lil or Matt will go this week.
Adam should win since he's the most 'original' and marketable, although last night sounded like Iron Maiden doing the song!!
Adam is a hoot. So confident and professional, but i suspect a real pain in the a$$ for the producers of the show. The camera crew that must figure out how to follow him on stage and the band who is forced to be a part of his choreography from week to week. I think Adam plans for each and every detail, lighting etc., he does his OWN arrangements, and follows the beat of his own drummer. I am also impressed that he chooses, on occasion to ENTERTAIN rather then stand and sing ballads. He is a performer and a perfectionist, and no detail goes unexamined.
There was an article interviewing well known broadway performers who have worked with him, and they heap praise upon him and say his voice is one of the greatest they have ever heard, and that he works on every aspect of his craft 24/7. The truth is he would probably be better off NOT winning AI, i rather imagine the record producers and bands are salivating over the though of having him under contract. I think he will be a huge star, but he has paid his dues to get there.
three words:
THEY ALL SUCK
if paula would not ramble all the time....about nothing really...she never makes sense...than maybe we could hear from all the judges...hate that we are not getting their feedback from all of them...Adam and Allison should be the last standing...the rest can go and need to go
Oh, Lil. What happened? It seems the judges would give you advice, but you didn't follow it. You have a wonderful voice, but don't have the "wow factor" anymore. When you first were selected I told my husband that THERE was the next American Idol. I will be sorry to see you go tonight. Adam has just grabbed the bull by the horns, and WILL be the next American Idol. And if not, it's something other than talent folks are voting for.
There is no way Anoop should go home tonight. He has the clearest and smoothest voice of all of them. Kris is good. Danny is okay, but everything he sings sounds the same. Allison, well, she's a rocker, and while her song was somewhat pitchy, she can sing. Matt, I'm not sure.
I would bet it will be Adam and Kris. Unfortunately, I think Lil will go home tonight. I hope Anoop stays in it until the voted 2 go to the top.
Adam was amazing as always!
Allison was disappointing.
Anoop did a very good job this week.
The rest were fair.
ADAM ADAM ADAM. Lil and Matt should be the bottom two. Lil's time is up
Lil is one of the best singers on the show. Adam, Danny and Lil are the TOPS if anyone really listens to VOICE. She is getting a bad rap from the judges, especially Simon. Don't tell her what she should sing. She is capable of singing anything and sound GOOD. There were two guys that were off key, pitchy and not very good and got better comments than Lil. What is up with that? This is not right. Lil croons. She deserves to stay.
Once again it's Adam all the way. Thank God for DVR so I could watch it twice. Amazing.
It's just plain and simple......Adam Lambert all the way. He has been my favorite from the beginning and he will be my favorite till the end. Win or lose he has already made it in America's eyes............I would pay to see him in concert right now, what a voice range and entertainer.
adam has my vote-he is mesmerizing-even when he shakes up the place like last night. just as simon said to him that 1/2 the voters will not like that sort of music i am in the other boat...i like all sorts but the others stumbling through ballads and alison looking and singing like a 30 yr old with every week being about turning the bed down or sleeping with someone or whatever gives me the creeps. she is a child and should act like one. adam could sing the phonebook and i would be entranced and i am a 42 yr old mother of 5. his parents are to be commended for their success in raising adam as adam -he is who he is- and knows who he is-a VERY UNIQUE-individual who has talent that by far surpasses anything any of the others can dish out. as for the 2 judge thing-i did not care for it. i missed hearing from simon.
More Simon.... less Quentin.
I WANT TO KNOW what Simon thinks about EACH contestant. I feel RIPPED off that I did not get to hear it. Let's face it... he IS THE REASON we all watch!!
We want to hear all (3) judges, kara is unncessary and just have Paula shorten her "speech" if she cant then just cut her off and move on to the next judge. Four judges werent necessary before and not necessary now!!!
lil sucked...danny finally had his chance to slow down and get mellow and ended up blasting the big notes again...not a kris fan but he totally excelled choosing and performing a contemporary classic ... anoop finally merged his ballad side with his r&b and really stepped it up...thought maybe allison was trying to people-please in a more mainstream manner and still was really good but hated her song selection...adam had my rare interest but messed up his groove with that falsetto shrieking again...matt was flat and probably going home though it should really be shrill lil...liked tarantino critiquing and making suggestions since most mentors keep it safe and all smiles
Quentin makes my stomach turn. Who does he think he is? Oh, I forgot, he thinks he is super awesome. I didn't mind the two-judge thing nearly as much as I minded Quentin's over-confidence as a music mentor. Gag!
Best to worst tonight:
Kris-Beautiful understated performance
Anoop-Nice strong performance
Adam-True entertainer
Allison-I hate the song but love her voice
Danny-Off key whenever he sings softly
Matt-Too many rifts to connect emotionally with the song
Lil-She just doesn't get it and voice way over-rated
Lil should be the next to go. I have never cared for her voice and I am tired of the judges definding her by say her poor performances is due to poor song choice. She's just not very talented. IMO, Allison has the best voice of the remaining contestants but I doubt that she will make it to the finals. At this point I believe it will be Kris and Adam.
I hated that only two judges critiqued each performance. There are several ways to make it work with all of the judges still commenting. Lenghten the show, cut out or shorten all of the Seacrest nonsense, allow each judge only thirty seconds to critique, reduce the number of commercials, etc. Live shows do run over sometimes so everyone calm down. I think the most likely cause this year is that a fourht judge was added but extra time wasn't to cover the added comments. Four judges takes more time to critique a performance than three judges.
they have to get rid of commercials and the fourth judge. dont blame judges or sea crest or interviews it is the commercials . we viewers also bring a pretty penny to ai. We love the original judges and want to keep it that way. as many as boo simon also cheer him he is the most consistently honest judge and he and paula give the best advice
also...
Adam is gonna win. We all know it, and yes he is in another league. Allison should win. But, Kris and Matt both deserve a contract shot.
Danny is consistently singing pretty well however it is boringly the same consistency no surprises sometimes screeches and just about the same song every week everyone gave scott a hard time for doing the same thing
I wish matt would do some harry connick jr and michael buble i dont get why he doesnt recognize this in himself and his voice
adam and allison had a hard week compared to anoop sorry he whaled on that song although they are my top three with lil following
I just dont think they are specific enough with her and they do interrupt each other on their comments about her she has been trying to be an artist and i agree i wiill always love you by dolly parton sung by dolly and whitney houston would have been good for her
kris like danny is boring although danny sings better
the format was LAME! fox knows that you need more time...i know what you get in return dollars, don't be so cheap! you are loosing focus on the contestants...and fans!
Here's my rundown on the Top 7:
Allison: Not her best performance. I was shocked that Simon didn't rake her over the coals. She certainly has the vocals and the presence, but tonight's performance fell short of her usual excellence.
Danny: Eh. Not bad, not great. Just so-so. Really shaky at the start. I think my favorite part was Simon's comment, when he said, essentially, "Congratulations on being emotional."
Anoop: Thought he did a great job with the song. Please get rid of the varsity sweaters though, Anoop. We get it. You're a college boy.
Adam: This guy is sheer entertainment. A winner all around. When he sings, I find myself saying "What the heck? How does he do that?" Tonight's performance of Born to be Wild was more along the lines of Ring of Fire, the style of which Simon doesn't particularly like, but I believe is genius.
Matt: I've been a fan of his right from the start of the season, when I thought his name was "Dueling Piano Player," so I was a little disappointed in his bland performance. Not his best, not his worst. I'm worried that he'll be a stool warmer after tonight. I think he would be considered seriously for the save, however.
Kris: He's adorable, loved the song choice, but his rendition was just okay, and it was an uneven performance at best. He continues as one of my favorite contestants. I still get chills thinking of Aint' No Sunshine.
Lil: I feel terrible for her....she really tried to mix it up with the gospel twist on "The Rose," but I don't think it mattered. Would Simon even consider the save for Lil if she gets the least number of votes?
Interesting choice of Quentin Tarantino for a mentor. I didn't sense that he had any idea what he was talking about. I think they should just let him continue being Idol's biggest fan, and leave it at that.
I hated that they teamed up the judges, permitting only two judges to comment per performance. Part of the entertainment value is hearing Simon's comments, whether I agree with him or not. To save time, they should not allow the contestants to "talk back" after the critique, and they should edit the mentor videos a bit. If Paula kept her comments to "I loved it, " or "I wasn't crazy about it," that would help. I feel as if she is trying desperately to impress the audience with musical terms and trivia when it's really unnecessary. And time consuming. The silly banter between Ryan and Simon would not be missed either.
Adam
Allison
Anoop
Lil
______
Matt
Danny
Chris
Bottom three: matt, Kris and Lil.. Eliminated: Lil
hate the 2 judge thing.. Idol producers really need to revisit that or they will loose viewers (us for one).. what a disaster and they still couldnt keep it under the time limit (come on 7 singers and still runs over ??) ..... get rid of intro as someone already said.. cut Seacrest's time, we want to hear the judges not his banter !!
Maybe back to 3 judges ? Paula is geting boring with no added value or constructive advice to the singers at all.. maybe cut her comments to save time ?..lol..
Hated that only two judges spoke.
Top three: Adam, Allison, and Danny. Matt is a Justin Timberlake wannabe- um, there already is a JT so he needs to do his own thing and create his own identity. Oh yeah, and he is also boring. Chris is boring as hell too. I have been impressed with Anoop lately but he seems to only be able to sing ballads well- a one trick pony. And Lil Rounds needs to go now since she can't seem to get it together.
Everyone sucks at this point. Allison is alright, but she looks like she's having a seizure every time she sings. And she screams it out. So basically, they all suck.
I am going to go ahead and make my predictions for who is going to win in order.
7.Anoop
6.Lil Rounds
5.Matt
4.Kris
3.Danny
2.Adam
1.Allison
I am really shifty between Adam and Allison like everyone else is. I love Adam, but I am always tired of him hitting really high screaming notes, if he makes a cd like that its going to ruin it. Not unless makes some screaming rock album.
I love Lil in the beginning but she has gotten worse.
Kris to me is just getting by because of his looks.
I think you get the idea.
We will see if I am right 🙂
I agree that they should have let all the judges speak each time.
IMO if Ryan didn't talk so much, or if maybe they were to give the judges a "time limit", maybe that would help the situation if they can't handle the time constraints.
And I'm with the posters who would like to vote off Kara. This is my first year of following the show, so of course I'm a new viewer..but I DO know I could SO do without her!
Though I liked the theme for the week, honestly I didn't really understand Quentin's point for being there and "mentoring" the contestants. I mean, I know he's this incredible moviemaker guy, and I have nothing against him, but when it comes to his judging SINGING, I myself thought he was kind of pointless.
When he was trying to tell them what he thought was best for the performing style and the way he thought the song should sound, I thought he was about as informed as I am on the subject!! LOL
I thought the performers were decent, with none of them really STANDING OUT this week..sure, I had the ones I preferred, but IMO, time is running short for Lil, Matt, and after tonight, even Kris.
Anyway, I stand by what I've said from the beginning. I think the final three will be Danny, Allison, and Adam.
Final two? I don't know..I had thought Adam and Danny for sure..but the more I hear Allison, she's really been excellent week after week, so...?
Probably Adam for the win, because of all the hub-bub surrounding the guy...now MY personal choice would be Danny, but really any of those three would be good choices, IMO.
In any case I think all three of them can go on to do well no matter what happens in the end.
I want to say that I did not like just the two comment thing at all. Maybe if they all talked really quick to find out if they had opposite opinions first and then the two with opposing opinions spoke. I saw one time wher I was sure Simon disagreed with Randy and Kara's excellent review, because I know I did.. I just hate it this way!
This is my take on everyone left in the competition:
1. Adam
2. Allison
3. Anoop
4. Kris
5. Lil
6. Danny
7. Matt
I separated them because Danny and Matt are so far behind the others. I simply do not understand why everyone insists on pretending that Danny is any good at all. He's not. Not as bad as Matt, but not good at ALL.
bottom 3:
lil
allison
kara
Winner-Adam
Runner-up-Allison
Third place-Kris
Fourth Place (tonight) was: Anoop
Bottom three: tonight: Gokey, Lil Rounds and Matt
Gokey is perfect as a warm up act for Andy Williams or Marie Osment in a Branson, Missouri night club.
Lil' Rounds was more off key than on key tonight.
Matt over sung his song...
Adam does it again! Just give him the record contract and get it all over with. I keep thinking all those screaming fans in the audience will soon rush the stage and try to rip off his clothes or grab a lock of his hair. I wonder if Adam has any idea what he is going to be in for when he becomes a major rock star? My prayers are with him.
I agree there are way too many commercials and most of the popularity of the show came from the judges comments. They should cut the beginning of the show–> way too much BS what do you expect tonight and the like just get right to the singing.
I agree adam is the best for originality and for all those haters he can sing... did no one watch the motown night his Tracks of my tears (not to mention MAD WORLD) was truly moving. Simon is right you either hate the high waaaaaling or love it. but he has shown he doesnt have to use it, besides he has great stage presence and is truly an entertainer! He has power, emotion and creativity.
But the unsung heroes are MATT and KRIS. They give matt a lot of crap but his vocals are amazing and he is way more original and talented than lil. Not to mention you really feel a connection with him when he sings. I really liked his rendition of the Fray's you found me and truly loved whose loving me, lets get it on and part time lover- anyone who can take those classics and make them NEW AND CURRENT deserves the top 3!
Kris also gives a powerful vocal and a lot of control, heart and soul to his voice. For me Danny isnt all that... i seriously think he sings the same vocals in the same way and his voice isnt as marketable or powerful as adam/kris or Matt
Lil needs to go–> she doesnt listen to the judges critique and they are right her song choices have been terrible copycats and this is the first week she finally took liberty/creativity with the song... which is pretty lame considering she is in the top 7!! Still when she wasnt being all gospel-like she was just a copycat... she should have been eliminated after that TERRIBLE karaoke Tina preformance/dance... she has been so consistently fake and her vocals are awesome when she uses them appropriately, but i agree she is lost as an artist and should fire whoever gives her advice.
Anoop also in my bottom three he just isnt as powerful as adam, kris, matt or even allison, but still more entertaining than lil
For me the final seat would go to danny.. he just hasnt done anything special or set himself apart. At least Adam continually surprises and Matt takes liberties with songs and arrangements. And remember all those who said scott made it through b/c of the sympathy vote... arent we over the sympathy vote for danny? yes he has a nice raspy voice and his wifes death was a tragedy but he lacks the originality/range of adam or matt and hasnt done anything particularly moving lately...
eh just my thoughts but seriously give Matt/Kris some love they have had amazing preformances and truly deserve to be in the top three...
I think tonight's rule judging by 2's was horrible. They are paid to judge ALL the contestants. Get your act together!
I thought Danny's performance was boring. I'm don't get what everyone sees in him. I was shocked that the judges didn't say a word about Matt's keyboard skills – he's a fantastic pianist and I loved his singing tonight. Kris, Allison, and Anoop did great too. Lil – sorry – she sounds like a hundred other R&B singers.
Perhaps someone should explain to the program directors that if the number of judges comments are cut in half, BUT the two commenting judges are allowed to run on for twice as long as before, that no time is being saved and therefore the program is likely to run beyond the hour, This is not rocket science. Why not cut out the 4 minutes of opening chit chat and save it for filler if needed at the end of the program?
Idol – top 7, what a strange show it was,
two judged at a time and two made a pass!!
FOX guys don’t you know even in your 8th year,
that in this show it’s SIMON who is the STAR dear.
If SIMON just sits in his seat with a bewildered frown,
soon Idol’s ratings will heading very rapidly down.
The show in itself was again not very exciting,
although Quentin came in to coach with guns blazing and firing.
Adam went back to his manic ways but kept it entertaining,
the rest were as usual, singing songs but exteremely boring.
The Lil’ girl sang a Bette Midler like a gospel and killed the song,
but finally opened her mouth an shot back at Simon as if nothing was wrong.
Final 3 in the end will be Adam, Allison and Danny. Adam is in a league all of his own. He's comfortable on the stage and is the ONLY one that plays the stage. The others just stand there like statues.
Frankly, I think the judges need to regroup as a whole. There were some questionable folks in the Top 13 to begin with while some incredibly talented singers (Ricky Braddy, Jesse Langseth, Felicia Barton, Kristen McNamara, J'not Joyner to name a few) didn't make it through.
In addition they seemed really stuck on pimping certain contestants that they had pre-ordained as favorites even when these folks flamed out or didn't deliver the goods – week after week. I wouldn't find this so annoying if they hadn't done the undeserved pimping at the expense of other contestants who performed much better in a given week.
I'm not a fan of Kara's however I think Randy is expendable. "Mr. For Me, For You Dawg" rarely says anything intelligible (despite a limited vocabulary) or helpful to the contestants. Paula definitely needs to be more concise though when she is lucid she is surprising helpful and spot on in her comments. Simon is the judge of record IMO however I think that he has been off the mark this season – perhaps he's just not into it. He regularly overhypes Danny; is unmercifully critical with Lil; generally stingy with compliments to Kris and Allison (this week was an exception with Allison); and is regularly hot and cold with Matt and Anoop. Maybe he should pack it in after this season.
Agree with other folks who said to cut back on the number of commercials on performance night. It sucked that only two judges commented on each performer.
i hated that they didn't have all the judges providing feedback. if they need to save time they should get rid of the interviews before the performances! how can you not have Simon comment on everyone – that's one of the reasons people watch!!
I cannot believe that Fox butchered American Idol which scores so high in the ratings for them-tonight we got comments from only two judges...and the show was still rushed...the whole format was an insult to the contestants and the viewers. If you can't do it right, then just don't do it!!!!!
Truthfully, there isn't a good one in the whole bunch that are left. Adam belongs in some off off Broadway show, Allison is horrible as is Lil. And the rest are just plain BORING!!
I really missed hearing comments from all four judges tonight. It wasn't the same show without hearing from all the judges. Less commercials would help solve the problem. There is no reason why they can't fit 7 singers and the judges comments in a one hour time period.
Adam and Allison the 2 finalist
Allison and Adam are the best. period
I'll put it out there...my ideal Top 3 would be Adam, Kris, and Allison.
I really love Adam as a performer and think he's amazingly talented. My "problem" with Adam is that I'm not sure what kind of album he would put out. Who is he REALLY as a recording artist? That said, I think he belongs in the Top 3 for his overall talent and the "wow" factor that he brought to this season. Adam is an entertainer in every sense of the word.
Regarding my other two favorites – I think that Kris and Allison are very talented in their own right – Kris as the singer/songwriter and Allison as the 21st century female rocker. IMO, the "Idol" experience (some would call it the machine) would better help them cultivate their talents and further develop their artistry (channeling Kara here, forgive me). Case in point is season 4 winner Carrie Underwood. She had a great voice and she knew "who" she was as an "artist" however her stage presence/performance skills/style needed some polishing – which happened in spades. This year she won CMA "Entertainer of the Year."
That said, I think Allison has an incredible stage presence for her age (though she needs a stylist in a hurry) and Kris seems very comfortable in his own skin and connected to everything he sings. For the most part, these two have delivered week in and week out – and without a whole lot of love from the judges.
Adam is going to be the big winner even if he does not get enough votes to win Idol. When it is all said and done he will be selling more cds than anyone else from this season. Just like Daughtry cleaned up and didn't win. Adam is the bomb.
Kris was the best!!!!!!!tonight.....love the song choice!!
I, like many others (I'm sure), really only care what Simon has to say when it comes to these (or any other) contestants. Mean as he can be, at least he's honest, and he's usually right. When he's only there for half of the performances, the whole show suffers. Like some have said before me, i vote for dumping a judge. (And I think we're all looking at you, Kara)
They might had been able to get critiques from all the judges if they didn't have 20 commercials in between each performance! I never watch the show "real time" because of this (and Paula's ramblings).
Anoop was great tonight. America is fickle and I'm not sure they are feeling the love for him. He has a great voice and deserves to stay. My bottom three are Lil, Matt and Kris. I hope Lil goes home. Same old, same old.
Let call all the Top 7 voting a wash for this week and just send Kara packing.
ONE WORD = KRIS
Top 3:
Kris, Allison, and Matt
Bottom 3:
Lil (sorry), Anoop (please go), and Adam (YOU SUCK!)
I know there are those who just love Adam, but take a serious look at it. He screeches (why is it called singing?) and he is not an authentic rocker. Wow, a backup Broadway singer is suddenly a rocker? No. No way. No how. Let him go to Broadway, he would be great there and that is not meant to be an insult. Let Kris have this, or Allison. They have a broad range of appeal.
No way. No how. No Adam.
Kris all the way with Allison to the 2!
I`m sorry, but Quentin Tarantino should NOT have been a mentor! It makes a joke of the concept because he is not a musician! A great director? Yes! But anymore qualified to coach these talented young people than your or I? No. My old piano teacher is more qualified. I`m very dissapointed they chose him.
I didnt like the `team` judging either!...and they still went long by 4 minutes!
I have two wishes: 1) Lil is gone tomorrow and 2) Anoop dies his hair blonde next week.
Randy and Kara are obviously partially deaf as Matt's performance was amazing. Adam did his usual awful yelling. Anoop was atrocious. Lil wass awful. Danny is Taylor Hicks part duex. Also, there is no such term as "pitchy" in the music business – you're either sharp or flat, but you're not "pitchy." Go fly a kit, Randy.
Top 3:
Matt
Alison
Kris
Bottom 3:
Danny
Anoop
Lil
KRIS WAS AWESOME....Danny was boring....Allison was sloppy......Matt dissapointed me.....Anoop surprised me...Lil Lil Lil when are you gonna learn... im not ready for you to leave yet....Adam i would never buy your cd but you are fun to watch!!
Many people tune in to hear Simon's honesty and wit. Because Paula and, to a lesser extent, Kara can't SHUT UP, now we don't even get to hear Simon half of the time. Simon has been hinting that this will be his last season on "Idol". When Smon leaves, this show is FINISHED.
Oh, almost forgot, Allison is HORRIBLE. To suggest that she has a better voice than Lil is lunacy.
My top 3 this week: Lil, Adam, and Danny
As a loyal AI fan since season 1, I didn't have the desire or time to watch this season..I caught an episode a couple of weeks ago and must say that is no longer the case. It's all Adam Lambert's fault. The guy is just incredibly unique and an unprecedented talent for the show. I also agree that if the show's producers can't manage four judges, why did they add a fourth and who is she anyway? As Simon would say....very forgettable!
Brian, NYC
Worst Idol episode ever. I have tuned into all 8 and that was boring, boring, boring. The whole judge situation was lame and I can't believe they went to teams....perhaps cut down to 1 comment per judge.
Lil Rounds made a come back you go girl she was the best tonight.. I thougt The Rose song was a very good choice she did it very well I luv it you go Ms. Lil..
I tune in every week to hear Danny. His performance tonight moved me to tears. To me he is the best by far as he can sing everything and doesn't scream or screech his song. I think Allison and Adam are terrible and can't sing; just scream. I think Danny is the best but probably won't win since the judges seem to try to sway the vote to Allison, especially Simon.
My top three: Danny, Chris, Matt.
I thought that Kris, Adam and Anoop... yes i said (Anoop) ....were the best tonight...while Allison's performance was for me terrible and sloppy,.,, i was dissapointed with Matts performance, and why didnt Lil sing" I wil always love you" from the bodygaurd???? KRIS is getting my vote tonight,,,,bc Adams style of music is just not for me.
why lil rounds have on those wigs i thnik she should change back to the regular hairsyle.
I hated that only two judges were assigned to each contestant. It drastically impacted the quality of the show. Come on, we all watch to see how the judges will react. I agree with Eric, either do it right or don't do it at all.
Agreed, I want to hear all of the judges, not just two.
I'm totally disappointed about the 2 judges commenting. I don't think it's fair to the contestants, and the contestants who have to sing at the end of the show are rushed, which is no fair either.
I hope Kara is voted off. Opps I forgot it's about the singing.
So they only let 2 judges speak, and they still ran 4 minutes over. Maybe Fox should cut out a couple of commercials and let every judge speak to regain good will with the viewers. And next year, go back to 3 judges!
I think the btm 3 will be Lil, Matt and Danny. Kris was awesome, Adam entertaining and Allison damn good. Think Lil will be going home.
I think they're wasting too much time on the intro crap, and then losing time by letting Ryan babble.
Gag Seacrest, and the rest will take care of itself.
One word.
ADAM
What's up with only two judges commenting? How lame!! If American Idol can't manage four judges then they shouldn't do it. As a long time Idol fan I am severely disappointed.
I think competition is already down to the final three, Allison, Adam and Danny. These three consistently bring a great performance to the show every single week. Yes, this week Allison's performance wasnt as good as usual, but then again, we have very high expectations for her because she is always good.
Adam is the reason I tune in to the show though. We never know what to expect from him, all we know is that his performance will wow us.
Danny is a steady, compentent performer and always gives us a great show.
