Top 8: The one who doesn't have to worry is ...

It comes down to a 30,000 vote difference, and Anoop is saved.

Scott must sing for his chance to stay.

It doesn't look good people!

Anoop has good voice. Adam has stage presence. He cannot sing, sorry........Bottom three should have been Kris, Scott and Lil

Anoop didn't deserve to be in the bottom 3. His performance was one of the top 3. I wasn't particularly impressed with Danny this week but, of course, he could have laryngitis and the judges would still act like idiots over him. God knows why. Adam's the best, of course.

Scott is a wonderful singer and piano player but he does not fit the 'pop star' image.Adam is already there in MY eyes, his range is fantastic and he has amazing stage performance. It's sad to see anyone go but it is a competition after all!I I've been a huge fan since season one and I'll continue to be until the last !

I was so relieved to see Scott get the boot. I do empathize for him because of his disability, but I believe that's the only reason he stayed as long as he did. He really is just an "okay" singer, not AI material, but I do wish him luck. I thought Anoop did a great job, but America doesn't give him the credit he deserves. Simon brought him back into this competition for a reason. Vote for ANOOP!!!! I think Adam is an average singer, but that drama queen belongs on Broadway. He is more of an entertainer, not a singer. I think the next to go will be Lil. While she is a great singer, she hasn't proven herself to be good enough over the past couple of weeks.

    Get real...

For anyone who knows anything about signing and vocal technique, they know that Adam is a colossal talent and can move effortless from falsetto to what is chest voice. All of this is "natural". Adam is clearly the next American Idol ...and for the record, we have never seen the likes of this talent in this show before. Not even with Aiken...we havn't seen the depths of Adam's showcase yet....and .....listen to him sing....we have heard him sing in his regular register...and it has been astounding. Pay attention

It was the correct thing to do and let Scott go. But we all must remember – we need to give credit for his constant desire to forge ahead, as it isn't easy.

P1ng104 – you said it right!
People, ADAM is the next American Idol. Sit back, realx and enjoy the show. I was so upset that my TV didn't get to tivo Adam. When it was his turn to sing, me recording simply said "DONE". I was like " No! What the heck?

Liked Scott, but natural selection warrants that he go. After all, almost all the singers still left are better than he and Adam and Allison are far better and more distinct than any of the others.

  9. Just How Much Does Idol Stink This Season?

What was with all of the FAKE drama at the end?

It was REALLY cruel to put Scott through all that. And you know it was all FAKE. The judges knew from the start that Scott would not go very far.

Scott was getting sympathy consideration and sympathy votes from the start. He's a really nice guy, but he sings just OK. That's all and there's nothing wrong with that.

I thought the ending drama of good cop (judge) bad cop (judge) was gratuitous, unnecessary, and totally cruel to Scott.

I happen to love Adams' falsetto-very diffficult to do by the way. But if you must see Adam w/out the falsetto, there are plenty of examples on youTube, including songs coauthored by Adam.
As to Scott: i cannot imagine being blind and facing a new place to live, new sets to move around in etc. Maybe he wasn't 'the first', but it still takes courage. Put a blindfold on and see if YOU can navigate the world.

Adam is good BUT I think Allison, at age 16, is phenomenal!! She is the modern day Janice Joplin.

Its about time Scott got the ax. He's only an "ok" singer and he's not a great performer.

    Dcutch,

Simon said in the beginning that the save would be used to save someone worthy. He listed both Jennifer Hudson & Chris Daughtry as examples where the save could have come in handy, in past seasons. They were both booted unjustly when it was down to 4, not 8. Scott was not worthy. His high notes on Tues. were dreadful.

THANK GOD FOR SIMON!!! He says it like it is, and he is so right.
Paula, enough reacting to Simon's point of view, because as we all know, he is RIGHT, and HONEST, and speaks for the majority. Keep up the good work Simon.

When Adam can sing in his natural voice and not a falsetto then one may be able to judge how good he is or is'nt. Eventhough I' am impressed by his range he still has'nt proven that he can sing in the natural. That's what really counts. Wake up Simon

Anyone who suggests that Scott is'nt an awsome singer is more challenged than he. May God Bless Him! Maybe he needed to wear earrings, nail polish and eye shadow like Adam to be accepted hence the reason why Simon simply melts over Adam.

I see Scott as an amazing songwriter, rather than a soloist. Unfortunately his voice just isn't as strong as the others in the competition. However his spirit soars and that will definately show through in his ability to write songs that people will connect to. Getting voted off American Idol isn't the end of the world for someone who truly loves music and has the guts and determination that Scott has shown. He surely will have a career in music if he chooses.

I'm a blind man myself and I believe the decision to cut Scott from the competition was the right one. His disability does not need to define his ability or his character, so any backlash due to him being a disabled man needs to be squashed. I believe his performance was not at par with the majority of the remaining group, though he had a good run. He has come a long way, even exceeding the abilities of "normal" able bodied, fully sighted individuals.

I have supported Scott from the beginning. I admire his courage for reaching for his dreams. His disability did not hold him back. Not once did I feel sorry for him.. In order for Americal Idol to be true to the entire talent concept, the judges made the right decision tonight. Scott may have been voted off, but he will continue to be a great inspiration to many. We have not heard the last of Scott ~~ he will continue to touch many hearts through his talents, personality and courage. He is fortunate to have the loving support of his family!

Look at it this way, fans of Scott: there was no way he was going to win the competition. Seems like a sweetheart and definitely has talent, he will go on tour, I think this experience has been a gas for him. I think Paula was patronizing but it's difficult to know how to react to a "differently abled" person (to be pc).

I think Anoop has that certain je ne sais qua. I think Lil needs to go back to her natural hair and her sassiness. The latter, plus her great voice, of course, got her into the competition. Why is she going so wrong?

Hated Adam's choice of song even though I'm madly in love with him. Very emo song.

16-year old is an old soul, I'm sorry. That girl sings like she's been smoking, drinking and living a generally hard life for the last 40 years. Wow.

a blind person performing on stage is nothing new...remember Stevie wonder did perform on stage a couple of weeks ago...it has to do with idol having atleast one of every type of person perform on the show...they had the gay guy...the fat guy...the heart throb..and this year..the cool eccentric...the edgy 16 year old...the "good" Indian..and now the blind guy .. idol being the pop music machine it has always been should not be taken so literally

If you judge solely based on last night's performance, Anoop didn't deserve to be in the bottom 2 this week. His performance was atleast the 3rd or 4th best last night (My pick: Adam->Allison->Anoop). Too bad he can't get a break!

Please everyone, Scott is already a winner in our eyes. In spite of his disablity, he achived what many of us are afraid to do–it takes courage to get on stage, and Scott had courage to do so. He is not a loser, he's a winner and we as America should celebrate the fact that he accomplished a lot.

It's really too bad about Scott. If nothing else, he would serve as a tremendous inspiration and is certainly better than the 16-year-old girl who has years ahead of her to develop her talent. He doesn't look the part and that's probably why he was voted off. Once again, we prove that looks are everything in America.
