Let it go already. Scott is gone now, so let's move on ok? Am looking forward to the performances tonight. I do think Adam has it in the bag, but remember Chris Daughtry? Thought he did too. He is just awesome. Love his music.

I am most impressed with Adam, Allison and Matt. Danny, you need to get a makeover. You remind me of Clay Aiken before he shaped up his appearance, but you do have a pleasant voice. Anoop has the attitude and needs to go and sorry Lil you will be next.

I really didn't want to see him go, I think Lil or Anoop should've went home, but the day was coming that Scott would go home. I didn't really expect him to make it to the finals.

I like Scott, he is that likable factor going on. He has had to work much harder than the other contestants because of his disabilities. I have enjoyed his story, he is a great pianist, and depending on the song he can sing.

I have to agree with a few of the other comments, that if it weren't for his disability, he wouldn't have made it as far as he did.

With the exposure that he has gotten from AI, he will land a career in music. I wish you well Scott.

....Lil should be sent home! Her song choices have been horrible. Her voice is okay, but without picking the right song she sounds dull and average at best. Allison and Adam are my picks for the final 2 show down.

Should be interesting tonight.. if lil dont get her act together, which shouldnt be that hard, she's done.. Her or Anoop are next.. he is not very good at all.. not sure why he's lasting.. Danny is annoying, sounds just like Michael Bolton, whom I hate and its the same sound everytime.. Adam is probably still the favorite.. Dont count Kris out, he's the underdog.. very musically talented (although last week wasnt so good but previous one's were) and I think he's got the teenage girl vote..

Scott is painful to listen to. Don't discriminate because he's blind. If he is a terrible singer, he should be gone like the rest of them. It's a joke to keep someone around that long just because they have a dissability.

It was hard to see Scott go last night. He is such a likable guy and you cannot discount the fact that he has had to work much harder than other contestants to get this far. He has come out of his comfort zone to showcase his incredible talent to the world and he should be commended for that.

That being said, disability and challenges that come along with it aside, I have felt for weeks that he does not have what it takes to be the next AI. At the end of the day, I think he is going to have a phenomenal career and so many doors are open to him, he's just going to accomplish it without the American Idol title.

It was sad to see Scot go lst night when he was not the worst performer.
Again the show has shown that at this stage of the competition that it is a popularity contest and not a singing / performance contest.

The person who did deserve to go IMHO was Lil the performing bot......

Wika – You're nuts! Kara is awesome. She's intelligent and offers great opinions. Do you even watch the show? Listen to Paula muddle her way through a critique. Why do you think Simon often says. "What I think Paula was trying to say...." He says this because Paula Abdul makes no sense! She should be replaced by Kara. Kara at least demonstartes some intelligence and she's articuate. Something Paula is not.

ca – your comment about Adam not getting any criticism from judges except for them saying they didn't like the arrangement of his "Burn" performance is wrong. Simon said he thought it was "horrible." With that said, Adam is obviously their favorite and if they have to, they will save him. And no one has mentioned Megan here – I will never understand how she lasted as long as she did – my dog sings better than she does. But then, I cannot understand how Taylor Hicks ever got into the top ten, let alone won that season – he's probably singing in a Holiday Inn lounge now.

I remember seeing Alexis, one of the first that was voted off on Live with Regis and Kelly and she said that this was the 3rd time or so that she had tried out for American Idol. She said she never made it to where she got to sing in front of the judges before. So, I guess, if she couldn't make it, with her voice, to sing, how in the hell, do all these other "quacks" get to sing for them on t.v. You can tell, that it's all for entertainment value....and that is really sad for a lot of young talent out there.

It is getting down to choices of who out of the remaining few have a higher level of talent.

Last nights choice may not have pleased some people but it was the correct call. Look at who is left and picture the pressure that will take it toll on those that just can't give that top performance.

I do believe that this years overall group is weak compared to years past.

I think America got it right. Scott MacIntyre was really boring for my taste. I didn't agree with Simon at all when he told Scott to stay behind the piano... in his comfort zone. American Idol is all about showing your artistic talent as a singer and one who only plays the piano is not "taking risks" or showing the diversity and the creativity they may have inside them. I applauded Scott for standing up and singing and playing the guitar this week (April 7 & 8, 2009)... but I feel he would have gone back to the piano next week. And he would have gotten voted off eventually... that's my opinion ! He's a great singer... and he's got a lot of talent... but he's just not the artist that America is looking for. Sorry !

american got it partially right. Lil Round and Scott deserved to be in the bottom three, but anoop? i think Kris' charisma and cuteness is caring him farther than it should, how quickly we forget a fun haired no talent from last year. Now Kris, is a MUCH better performer than others, but at this stage, he is becoming kindof average. not in the same league as adam, allison, matt and danny.the real contest seems to be with these four.

For better or worse, Scott got as far as he did based on the sympathy vote. While I think Anoop is only slightly better, the same could be said for him. I definitely think America got it right this week as far as the bottom three goes. It should get more interesting once Anoop and Lil are voted off.

Although Scott is very talented, he does not compare to the other contestants like Danny and Adam. Who I think are going to be the last two standing. However, Allison can suprise us all with her talents.
I think the next to go is Lil Rounds. Then Anoop. They both have talent to sing but they are not stepping it up like they should they have hit their plateau.

In the end the top 5 of last night....should be the top 5. Its really moot to argue whether Anoop, Scott, and/or Lil should have gone this week/last week....whenever. As long as Kris, Adam, Allison, Danny, and Matt are the top 5, then there shouldn't be much to truly complain about. Everyone one of them are talented, but based on performances..........Scott has been just getting by and his weakness in his vocals really showed on Tuesday. Lil has way under performed, and doesnt deserve to be in the top5. Anoop has flurished and crapped. Simply put. Danny has a great voice, but for some reason i think he doesnt really have a niche or himself defined. Adam and allison are ready to record now. Matt is a sleeper when it comes to recording. (he just hasnt shine every week). Kris will have his niche but a star...not sure.

Let's see. It was definitely Scott's time to go. In my opinion, he actually should have gone a few weeks ago. I think the fact that he is blind garnered him a lot of sympathy and voters were unable to pull the plug. Lil' certainly belonged in the bottom three last night. She has been a real disapointment. She has a natural singing ability but unfortunately has no sense of artistry and creativity. She is not able to change up the songs as requested and doesn't know how to select songs that showcase her voice. I was pulling for her but she definitely needs to go next week. If I hear the, "if America keeps me around...I'll bring it and show them that...." She's ran that same game three or four weeks now. I was horrified when the judges saved Anoop but he has proven himself. Is he the best singer no but the last couple of weeks he has made great song selections that work for his vocal ability. My chopping block in order Lil, Kris and then Anoop. My prediction for top three...Adam, Allison and Danny or Matt. The winner will depend on who has the largest fan base that is able to get their calls in.

My votes are on Allison at the moment. Though I'm loving Adam. Both contestents are unique, talented and humble.

Nice Scott the Blind Guy who can't find it out the door, before he's had a chance to prove himself, whats he guilty of, a poor song choice, And why was that? He asked the musical cordinator advice and thats what he was given. Its not like the poor guy could go to Fischer Music on Labrea and make his own choices, how much of their sheet musics in braile. Too bad he can't team up with Kelley Pickler , all she has to do is thrust her titties in Simons face and he gives her all the coaching to be a singer she needed. Face it that Bim should be making donut holes @ Duncans. What Simon & Co. has proven is that theres no place for the handicap in show business. My next letters going out to Ford, they pay for that mess to stay on the air, and I'll never watch Idol again after what the did to Scott.

America finally got it right! Scot was amazing on the piano but vocally he was really not that great. It sad for me to say this but i really do feel the only reason he stayed so long was because he is blind and had the sympathy vote. I definately think the bottom three were correct this week. Lil is just not that good when you compare her to the 5 that got to stay on the couches. As for Anoop, i think that he has become very arrogant because he is in the spot light and i feel that he really isn't stepping up and growing in the competition and he is just becoming to cocky. In recent weeks i think we know who will/should win and that is Adam. His voice is amazing and he blows everyone away with every song he sings. His connection to the song inspires and his pitch through the song is for the most part spot on(execpt a few notes here and there). He has amazing stage presence and I feel is one of the best male vocalist if not one of the best vocalists period that American Idol has ever had!!

So here's how it works. Glad Scott's gone, the time for the inspirational stories has passed and now it's a singing competition, one that he as a singer had no buisness in.
To be honest, I wouldn't have minded if Anoop went home last night. His pompus frat-boy "look at me" approach to singing disgusts me. It's not about connecting with the audience, putting yourself out there to convey emotin, it's entirely about some spoiled rich only child who thinks far too much of himself. Too good for the glitter indeed.
Lil should go next, unless she gets her stuff together. She has yet to make a good song choice and her inability to sing with the correct vowel sounds annoys me.
Then it's on. Kris, Danny and Matt in a fight for 3rd place (assuming ofcourse that Alison contnues to make good song choices and Adam doesn't do anything else sacrilegious, roll Johnny Cash over in his grave...). I fear for Matt because he has twice chosen the wrong song, and there's no recovering from that once Anoop and Lil are out of the way a scape goats. I'm still not a big Kris fan, though he has shown the ability to be an Artist, I personally think we already have a Jason Mraz and we don't so much need another one. Danny's vocal ability is undeniable, but by no means is he far ahead of Kris and Matt. His story however could easily get him to the coveted final 3.
Finally, it's Adam and Alison. If it's truly a singing competiion, Adam has to win. He has the artistry to compete in the marketplace, the vocal talent that makes you forget about JT and remember chops like MJ and Freddie. Alison's age (much like Archuletta's last year) should net her 2nd place, and her first album could outsell Adam's as she could be more marketable in the 9-14 than Adam, who inspite of his undeniable performing abilities, can come off a bit creepy. But last I checked the highest selling album of all time was written and performed by a man who these days defines creepy (one Mr. Michael Jackson, the album of course 'Thriller'). So who knows... I know which albums I'm buying though, do you?

Well, I do believe that America got it right with the bottom three and with Scott going home. I personally feel that we should just skip to the top 4 Adam, Kris, Danny, and Allison. I have to agree with some of the other peoples comments...Anoop is inconsistent and prrobably will go soon. I know that Lil was a judges favorite in the begining but since the top 12 all they have had to say is we know you can sing but that was just not good, bad song choice. If you can't pick even one good song in five weeks then this is not the place for you. And finally Matt I chose to pick the op 4 because honestly Matt has been to much of a roller coaster ride for me, inconsistent and and not pleasant for me to watch. I am not saying they should know how to work a stage or be super hot but he just doesn't have the personality that I feel and idol should posess. So there you have it my top 4 in no particular order Adam, Kris, Danny, and Allison!

At some point American Idol has to ask themselves what, if anything, she brings to the show. The answer ... nothing ... nothing at all. With the exception of perhaps annoying critiques that are like listening to a broken record. America got it right. Althought Scott is a great performer, as evidenced by the "executive decision" that Simon had to make for the judges, the talent pool for this season is so strong that a slipup made on one week will put you on the chopping block. Face it: Scott sucked last Tuesday night!!! Anoop may be inconsistent, but he had a good performance on last Tuesday.

The judges and America finally got it right.

Those saying the judges should have used their save are pretty rediculous. This is a singing competition, and to push Scott through another week just because he has a disability goes against everything most people with disability want: a handout.

He is not a great singer... last night's singing proved that... did you hear that attempt at high note.... I mean there are very talented people with disabilities: Ray Charles, Bethoven, Stevie Wonder, the list continues.

Lil Rounds really needs to be next to go... she is not that spectacular; I don't know where the judges are getting that. She is a far cry from Fantasia and Jennifer Hudson. I can't even imagine that she leads all the songs in her church choir... she sound very much the same as others, but she has no definitive style of her own... making her a copy.

I am personally hoping the top three end up being Adam, Matt, and Kris (in the reverse order). Kris has proven to be the best artist with Adam being the best performer.

    just my two cents!

I completely agree with the judges decision. Based on the remaining contestants he was the right choice to let go. I think either decision here will cause problems with people because some will think he should stay because of his disability (sorry is this is pc) and others would be upset and think keeping him would be wrong for the same reason.

I can't stand Adam, ever since he sang "Ring of Fire". He completely butchered it in my opinion. I realize he was trying to "make it new", but it sounded like a screeching cat. Some people like screeching cats perhaps, but not me. I think Danny is the guy I'd listen to music from. Most of the rest can sing, Lil for example but she can't pick a song to save her life.

I'm laughing at comments about Adam being spooky and gay. Much the same was said about Michael Jackson and he managed to cut a few successful records.

It was time for Scott. I was rooting for him to make tour, but anything beyond that is just gravy. Adam is light years ahead of the rest.

Scott was the right one to go, while I am enjoying this season, last year was really good, esp at the end. The judges save has to be kept as of course they are thinking Matt or Lil and I can bet they will use a save for one of them.

I think America got it exactly right. Lil got some good advice from Randy. Stop doing covers and find out who you are as an artist. She's got the chops, she just needs to locate her artistry. If she doesn't have it right by next week, it should be her or Anoop, who really has the same issue. I think the final two should be Allison and Adam.

I thought Scott for the first half of his song sounded really good and could have saved himself. The second half wasn't as good. Starting with the syncopated transition phrase, which was still ok but a little off. He then went for the high gesture that came out very poorly. After that, his fate was sealed.

Scott has stunk up the joint for weeks & while it's admirable that he put himself out there with his disability, at the end of the day this is about being the best singer/performer & the guy isn't that good. Scott is a good singer, but he just is not as good as the remaining contestants. Anoop will be the next to go – he too is a good singer, but he is too preppy and does not hold the star quality required to make it on Idol. The judges have it right on Lil – she is a fantastic singer, but she needs some originality and artistry. Danny is great too but is becoming a little boring. Kris Allen sings well, but I can't stand to watch his weird mouth movements. Matt Giraud is awesome, but my frontrunner is Adam. Okay, so he screams a little, but he is definitely original and would fit great in the alternative/punk arena. I think we can look for stardom in the final four – Adam, Danny, Matt, and Allison.

He would make a good piano teacher or something like that. Anyway, I disagree with everyone saying Anoop should have gone home. He is a very good singer just needs to show more of his personality. I like Lil a lot at the start of the competition but now she seems to have a bad attitude and hasn't had a good performance in weeks. I know there are some front runners but Matt is my favorite. I watch this show occasionally and I just have to say Adam Lambert really makes this show tough to stomach. He is a contestant that has had YEARS of vocal training and PERFORMS FOR A LIVING! That's not what the show should be about. I actually feel, as a musician, that this show develops crap pop and is one of the reasons such AWFUL music exists today. But when you have someone like Lambert who has every benefit over all of the contestants, it's PRETTY EFFING LAME. What happened the the single mother of two or the mechanic at a ma and pa garage, just trying to get a chance. Lambert LIVES IN LA AND HE PERFORMS FOR A LIVING......I think Idol is REALLY falling off of the wagon.

I'm really enjoying the competition this year. There is definite talent on the stage, in my opinion more than any other year. Last year was good, this year is better. Adam, Danny, and Allison all have legitimate shots at being stars, and we'll see albums from each of them before the end of the year. Adam may do better in the long run NOT winning, so he can go out and do his own thing, not the Idol thing. Anoop has a great voice, but doesn't connect with everyone. Kris and Matt have shown talent at times, but leave me baffled at song choices and stage presence. Lil doesn't impress me, but my guess is she will find a great song next week and blow us all away. Fun stuff. And yes, Scott had to go. Simon handled the awkward "save" very well last night, knowing there were others that have a real shot at winning. Does anyone know how deep they can go into the season with the save? I thought they mentioned it could be used up until the week with 5 contestants remaining.

Scott was by no means the worst performer this week – that was clearly Lil. He was also not in any way a standout performer this week, so I can understand the judges not using their save.

However, I believe that in this case the use of the judges save would have been justified, just because the big failing with Scott was that he actually listened to the judges. Had he continued the piano man performance, he would have stayed for a few more weeks. The judges kept pressuring him to change things up, and when he did he got canned... So I for one was hoping that the judges would have blown their save to rescue him from THEIR stupid influence which undermined him.

That said, he was the one who made the final call... and he wouldn't have made it into the final 5 anyway, all 5 of the "safe" contestants being better overall than the 3 lowest scorers. I believe Scott was the 6th best performer of the top 13, with Lil being the 13th best and Anoop being the 9th best (If you only take this week into account, Lil was the worst, Scott was the second worst, and probably Eric was the third worst)... It would have been nice had Scott made it to the top 6, but in the end the judges save was meant to save one of the top 2, not the 6th best... It was meant for either Adam or Danny.

    *shrug*

My next choice for elimination would have to be Adam. Another poster had it right... he can scream his arse off.. but I don't think he is final 3 material..

Anoop should have gone home– think about who has a greater chance of becomming a recording artist– Scott has the talent and the fan base to make albums. Adam's unbelievably good.

    I don't think he's sung an off-note YET.
His feedback from the judges has CONSISTENTLY just been, "wow."
    They have nothing to say.
    There IS nothing to say.

The only time they were negative was on the Ring Of Fire.
And even then they didn't say his vocals were bad, they just said they didn't like the arrangement. So that version of the song wasn't their taste – who cares. He was being bold and daring and NOT doing karaoke. When you step out of the box and do something unusual, some people will like it and some won't. Ya never know. But you won't succeed if you don't try.

Speaking of who cares... Gay/str8/bi – who cares?

I agree with getting rid of Scott. For those of you who think Anoop should have gone you simply do not know much about singing or marketing for that matter. Is Anoop the next American Idol, probably not, but his technique, tone and control is far better than Scotts. And to Dave who thinks Anoop is not marketable, I had to laugh. Bollywood is crossing into American mainstream with the success of slumdog millionare. Anoop has the potential to be the first true crossover artist in this market. Marketing Scott is like marketing a young Ronny Milsap. He would have very limited success overall and never be a headliner. Scotts falsetto is embarassing. He should have stayed in his own range and not tried to copy Adam's transition into his head voice. It was screetchy and had no breath support. It sounded like two totally different singers during his performance. Scott is an amazing musician and will most likely be successful as a producer/songwriter or with his own material.

Yes he is wonderful becasue of what he has accomplished with his disability but this ISN'T about that and it is unfair that others be eliminated when their voices are SO MUCH better! I think it was unfair that Alexis Grace was let go before Scott. I think Scott stayed as long as he did because of "sympathetic' vote..not because of talent. The judges have to think about who would actually sell records and although people will vote for him becasue they admire him (which I think we all do!)....will they buy his records? Perhaps it will be a wake up call for L'il because she does have talent although I seriously don't believe she has enough talent to get past Allison or Adam and frankly I believe Adam will take it all. I am not young – 63 – but I think Adam is phenomenal and will be a major star. Allison is also going somewhere but I have doubts for the others. They may be lounge singers or warm up acts but the major talent is Adam and then Allison and then Danny in that order – of course, in my opinon. All three of them will have a career no matter what order they finish in.

Adam is the most talented one left and here is why. He has been able to show the most skilled "artistry" of making songs his own. Even though not every listener will like any given artists sound (every single artist has some of this so it's normal) Adam is definately a level above the others with his ability to alter a song to where it sounds like he's the first one singing it. Also being Gay is what has inabled his artistic side to excel more than the others.

I agree that Scott was the worst singer left of the 8 and since this is a singing competition you have to base your eliminations on that fact.

The Finals should be between Danny and Adam.

Some people who post some of these comments must be absolutely tone deaf when they think Adam is screaming. I guess it is a matter of preference. The judges know what they are doing and they are usually RIGHT ON in their criticisms of the contestants. Adam's vocal ability far surpasses the others. His upper range is absolutely amazing! Not sure that I would buy his CD because I listen to mostly Christian music, but I love some good, clean rock music!

Those of you who think Allison can't sing. O.o I am certain you are tone deaf! Like Randy said, she can sing her face off. She is incredible and shows such maturity at her age. Love her!!

And of course, I love Danny. His soulful, emotional way of connecting with the audience is awesome. I don't believe for one moment he is milking his tragic story for votes. Danny's background comes from singing in the church. He is used to singing praise songs. It doesn't get any more soulful than that. I would love to see him go towards the Christian genre, but it's doubtful.

He is already on the tour. It's getting to the difficult decisions. Got to Love It!!

The only reason why most of you guys are fighting against Anoop is because of his ethnicity–which is a darn shame. The man has talent. He has better vocals than quite a few who are left on that show. You guys need to get over your prejudice. Anoop has talent, he is far more talented than Scott. Go Anoop! Lil is weak and should go before Anoop.

Utter crap. It IS a lifestyle choice. Science can make that crap up all they want to make people comfortable with this CHOICE people make. Science is not the end all be all, they argue and disagree on great deal so there is no "proven" medical, bio, or any other connection to being gay. Just because people call it like it is doesn' t make them some kind of hate monger or ignorant. One Clay Aiken is enough "inspiration" for the young minds taking this crap in every week.

He should have gone weeks ago. Hey, applaud him for what he is and what he's achieved against odds I can't understand but when it comes down to it... he just wasn't that good. His off-pitch performances and awkward presentation just compounded the fact that he didn't have what it took against a few performers who where obviously better by miles.

Sorry...but it was almost painful to watch Scott perform. I understand the whole cheer for the underdog thing...but this guy had no business to be on that stage. From the awkward faces to the staged guitar playing this was a trainwreck from the start. I would suggest doing a record with Kenny G and hold out for a role in a Hardy Boys television remake.

America had it right. Scott was a good singer but had no chance of winning. I felt it was taking something away from the other contestants having to lead him arount on the stage when they did group sessions. Maybe now they can let go and concentrate on themselves without worring about where Scott is. I'm sure they didn't mind but I felt it was taking away from the other contestants.

As for the rest of the competition, Anoop and Lil have great voices, but they don't know any music, which is why they have been struggling each week. Each year it's the same issue. A bunch of kids with no musical knowledge because of state of radio music today. If radio went back to the way it was in the 60's and 70's all of the constestants would be better. Anyhow, ADAm is going to win the whole thing unless Matt or Danny step it up.

Scott was the worst singer there period and should have been tossed in the first round. This show is a talent show for singers, not "inspiration for the disabled" or any other agenda. It was completely unfair for more talented singers to leave before this bum and I would have been furious if I was kicked off because he got some sympathy or so called inspiration votes. The last remaining ones all have singing talent and should finally be entertaining.

I am glad to see that Scott finally got the boot. I will admit that he is a very gifted pianist, but American Idol is a singing competition and Scott's singing was lacking at best. I think he would make a great sideman in a band on piano, but I do not think we will see Scott as a professional singer anytime soon. Anoop did sing better than previous weeks, and therefore I beleive that America got it right by not voting him off. Lil's performence was dreadful. If it was up to me I would have given another week to Scott and given Lil the boot. With that being said, I feel that America's political correctness is really starting to get out of control. Would Scott had made it this far if he wasn't blind? I think not.

I think Scott is to be commended for his efforts, and too bad Paula got him from behind the piano. Also, the show and other contestants should be commended for helping Scott along when needed. I don't get why anyone would ever say being blind is a hindrance to a musical career - anyone heard of Stevie Wonder? Ray Charles? Andras Boccelli? Blind Boys of Alabama? Jeff Healy? Blindness doesn't seem to stop people from being able to sing or have a career doing so, so to have "sympathy" for Scott and give him any advantage due to his blindness is just pandering condescension. He was a decent singer at best, and he doesn't belong in the competition.

I don't think that he would have made the top 3 but I think it would have been better for his career if he would have lasted a few more weeks. I think Lil will be the next to go. She is the most inconsistent as far as being an Artist. She can sing but she has to be able to know who she is as an artist. After the judges have given her a bad review EVERY WEEK she says she is going to "bring it" the next week and she never does. She has not found her identity. Just no sex appeal at all. I'm sorry to see Anoop struggling–I think he has a great voice and seems like a fun guy who's willing to take chances, even if they sometimes backfire. He has to stop scowling when things don't go his way, that's not helping any. I hated Adam's screeching and over-the-top theatrics originally, but after hearing him sing Mad World, my opinion has completely changed. Danny is sweet and lovable, with a great voice, but a little too squeaky clean. Lil and Allison have great big voices, but neither of them seems to have that star power in their personalities. Who's left? Oh, yeah. Matt and Kris, who to me are totally interchangeable–Kris is the cute one, right? I'm betting on this contest going to Adam.

Totally agree, just not with the order. Anoop and Lil need to go next!!
Adam was great! I actualy liked Danny and Chris. Danny has been my favorite sinec the show started this year.
BUT, the rendition of the song Adam did was the best I have seen on the show in years!!!

To the people complaining about Adam just screaming.. that's getting a LITTLE cliche. First off he's NOT just screaming, Tracks of My Tears and Mad World tyvm? Secondly, this isn't a POP competition it's a singing competition, and a lot of great singers were also screamers, Robert Plant for one? Sorry he's not in a genre you're used to, might as well go pop your Miley Cyrus cd back in.

Honestly, i think the only reason Scott even stayed that long was because he was blind. You could tell the judges really wanted to use the save on him too, but they knew he just wasn't good enough, as bad as they wanted to keep him because of his disability and how much it inspires people and makes the show look good. If you ask me, this was a long time coming, and it really doesn't matter because either Adam or Allison is going to win this season.

Anoop will go next-I don't think the show would go with 5 guys and one girl, frankly. Then Lil will go, and Adam will win. Who cares if he's gay? I mean really? He is so far above the rest of the contestants in showmanship, talent, vocal prowess, and a true sense of himself that he shines every week. I am 566 and I love him every week. The other guys all blend together, and Allison is not quite ready for the big time. Adam is ready.

Scott can't sing. He only got through because of a sympathy vote. Had any other contestant sang the way he did, they would've been voted out a LONG time ago. I'm glad to see him go.

I agree that Scott was an inspiration but that was NO reason to keep him on the show, he hollered through most of the song and he was the worst of the night. I like Scott but he deserved to go home. But in the end Adam will be your winner, but then again its American Idol so who knows.

I am extremely happy Scott has left the show. He has made it this far through the show because people are giving him pity votes because of his blindness, and while I do agree it is astounding and inspiring that he is able to do what he does, you have to remember that American Idol is a talent competition, and frankly, he doesn't measure up to the other contestants.

  219. Hmmm...

'Adam is Gay...' ????? What is that all about???? I'm not...so...????

There are very few TRUE 'artists' who have come across the idol stage. MNany think they can learn to act like an artists but a true artist is not acting, they are simply allowing what is within them to emerge.
Adam is the real thing- that means some of his stuff will miss, some will seem weird, some just boggles the mind but when he gets it right nobody ever cares about the experimentation it took because it lifts us all to another place.

There is a lot of talent but this year they are just window dressing for Adam. This guy will fly....gay or not.

In order to use a save, the judges must decide if extending the contestant another week will give them the opportunity to turn their performance around and potentially win Idol. With Scott, the answer is/was no.

One change that should be made is this – because I, for one, am sick of hearing "you picked the wrong song".....

The first week, they should pick songs for each contestant and explain to them clearly why they picked the particular song.
I think the contestants understand they need to take a song and not just sing it but change it to make it their own but I don't think think they understand just what songs accent their talent the best.

Scott...Scott...Scott... I definetely think he has his good weeks and bad weeks, and I do agree that most of his votes were based on sympathy and not talent. It was sad to see him go, he was always smiling and in a good mood. It's amazing he made it this far for having a challenge. He definetely showed that no matter what anyone might tell you, it's possible to do what you love without having the greatest gift, to see. As for the rest, the next one to go should be Anoop... he wants to be a pop artist and that doesn't do it for him. I def think it's about Adam (who cares he's gay, it's about the talent.) Look at Elton John, one of the most amazing singers of all time! As for the rest of them you know they'll all have contracts. Good Luck to all!

First I think the bottom 3 were right on. Scott, Anoop and Lil are good but not "American Idol worthy". Scott has talent and I think his exposure on the show will open a door for him. He was a real inspiration for people with disabilities. Anoop is just ok. Lil is a good singer but nothing special. She isn't taking the judges advice – she is just singing other people's songs without trying to make them "her own".
I think Adam should win. He is way ahead of everyone.

Second, people just amaze me with their comments about Scott and Adam. Scott's blindness has nothing to do with anything. He is a good singer.

As for Adam, let's just make a big deal out of him being gay (if he is) because we are all so close minded, we can't deal with anyone being different. America, grow up.

America definitely got it right this week – so long Scott! I know he's inspiring and likable and blah blah blah... but the fact of the matter is that he was the weakest singer in the top 8.

I like Anoop and Lil – I think the former has been improving while the latter has been weakening in the recent weeks. With that said, I see them both on the chopping block next week.

I never saw what the big deal w/ Chris is, prob b/c I'm not a 13 yr old girl.

Allison is AWESOME!! Please don't go anytime soon. You get my vote every week.

It's hard for me to tell Matt and Danny apart... sorry guys.

As for Adam, the guy is undoubtably an impressive singer and great performer, but I think he's being overhyped (and ps shecky – don't be hating just b/c he can steal your girlfriend from you in a heartbeat!)

American made the correct choie and it was time for Scott to be sent home. It was painful to watch him sing, with this wide open mouth and flailing arms. The selections he chose were adult contemporary, not pop or rock which he needed to win Idol. .

As for the comments about Adam, why does anyone care if he is gay? He can sing and he has a great deal of showmanship. At the end of the day, that's what sells records and fills concert arenas.

    Here is my opinion.

Scott is an amazing pianist and arranger. He has a masters degree in music. He is a great singer. But, if he has not been able to find popular music that he can connect with by now, he should stay with genres that he is comfortable performing in. And he is incredibly brilliant at those.

Adam has an incredible stage presence and has a voice that reminds me of a young Billy Porter.

    Anoop is awesome.

I don't get why people like Allison. Sounding like a 48 year old chain smoker is not a good thing. Screaming notes that are barely in tune does not constitute talent. There are talented belters and rockers out there. She is not one of them.

I love Danny's vocals too and think he deserves to win over Adam. Allison is awesome for a 16 year old. The only thing saving Kris is his looks (cutie). I'm sick of Lil and Matt and they can go anytime. I hope Anoop stays a little while longer. Yall know the voters do not always get it right. Bring it on Anoop!! In my book Adam has had it sown up for a couple of weeks now. I think his only competition is Danny and Kris, with perhaps Allison in the next spot.

I think Scott should have gone a couple of weeks ago–he produced the same sound every week. I do think the sympathy vote kept him in longer. I also agree that Lil is not that great...I think she yells it in some weeks, I agreed with Simon for this week's performance–2nd or 3rd rate Tina Turner karaoke.

I thought he did a great job and I find it ironic that he gets booted after following the advice of Paula to step out from behind the piano. A major mistake and a bad song choice. Honestly, during this whole phase of the competition, I thought he had a knack for picking the wrong songs.

I'm surprised at the number of people who say Scott was getting sympathy votes. I really enjoyed Scott as a performer and would have liked to see him on a few more episodes to hear him sing. He needs to give more thought about what his song choice and I think he could be a good performer. He's definitely more memorable than other contestants.

Now, the person who does his hair, bad bad bad... Honestly, who does that to someone sight impaired? His hair may have affected his votes and it's not fair to do that to someone who can't see himself!

Lil should go next, that girl is dull, I keep hoping she's going to bring it and she never does. I fast forward every time she performs. Girl, if you see this: Bring some sassy, no more dull ballads!

    Love Kris, Adam, and Danny.

Everyone got it right! My husband and I was so happy. Now we will not have to endure another week of listening to scott sing. He is not at the level as the top 5 and to keep him there would only be taking from the others who very well could make it. Scott would be better suited for a dinner club singer.

    Hey,
The ousting of Scott tonight is a big disappointment and oversight on someone's part. The two remaining women should have been gone this wekk and the previous.
I hope the USA is not going like us in Canada where we have to have our "token" minorities, women, when clearly they don't deserve to be in the top 7.
    Merit not sex.
    Sorry to see Scott eliminated.

Adam totally butchered Gary Jule's version of 'Mad World'. That was CLEARLY the version Adam was trying to emulate.

He straight up FORGOT the lyrics in the first 2 verses (play the original on youtube and compare), then tried to "boost" the tone at a totally random point in the song later on.

All in all, it was similar enough to one of my favorite songs to make me become immediately interested, but when I heard it, I was massively disappointed.

Scott was overdue to leave. His voice lacks some maturity and he doesn't quite hit the notes as well as he could with a few years of practice and learning. He has demonstrated the past few weeks he has a lot of talent, but it is not enough for him to move up in the competition.

I feel like a lot of people have connected to him because of his disability and that has helped him stay in longer. That has been great for him because he is a great person, but its time to separate him from the more talented people.

I can't believe there is a lot of hatred in America regarding Scott particpating in American Idol because he's blind. Sure, he was voted off because of a poor song choice, but my goodness, a lot of Americans, even here has a problem with a disablity has talent, yet they feel that they should hide and be cut off from society.

And juding from some of the comments here about Scott, its a wonder if some of you have a indifference about those who are challenged.

Scott was inspirational, yes, but he could not sing at all. If it wasn't for his story, he never would have made it through hollywood round. So people that think he was kicked off BECAUSE of his disability make no sense...he was there this long BECAUSE of it. America got it wrong and so did the judges. Sorry to say but he did not deserve to have made it to the top 25 let alone the top 13. There were far better singers dropped from the show. He only lasted becaue of his disability. Remove the disability and he was average at best. He wanted to be treated no differently than any other contestant, however AI took advantage of the situation. Talk about your sympathy vote.

Scott is a nice guy, but he's not a great singer.....I believe he made it this far due to a 'sympathy' vote due to his blindness and the novelty of not having anyone that was on blind or with a 'challenge' ,as they call it, on the show before. In other words, if Scott had 20/20 vision he would not have made it into the top 36.

I don't know if he's gay, straight, transgendered or bi. He's really talented and seems like a nice guy to boot.

Lil may be listening to the judges, but isn't hearing them.

Scott's okay, but not great. He needs coaching and more time. His disability doesn't matter anymore to this contest than whether Adam is/isn't gay.

I don't think everyone is on the same page here. AI is not a singing contest. It is a marketing contest. Who is the most marketable wins. Anoop is not marketable (he is a decade or two late with the boy bands). Matt is competing against Justin Timberlake (can't win that battle). Lil is trying to be all black singers of the past (they already made their mark, you have to make your own). Everyone one loves Danny; but what exactly is his style and who is his audience? Allison has a good chance to be in an alternative band (not winning may give her more credibility with this genre). Kris is the most natural contemporary artist ( I would compare him to Rob Thomas as far as emotion type singing- can he write the music is the question here). Now for Adam. Yes, I am sure he is gay. I first thought that would be an issue with his appeal (especially considering that he is gearing to be an alternative singer). But; I think he has shown vocally and artistically that he is an amazing artist. I mean there was a band called Queen that didn't have an issue. Danny appears to have the capability to be a showman like Freddie Mercury (and again like Kris, can he write the songs.)

I don't understand why no one recognizes Matt's talent. The whole point of the competition is for an artist who can record a great album to get the opportunity. Adam may be a great performer, but that is all he is. Would anyone really buy his album? Matt, Kris, Allison and Danny are the only people out of this group who have a legitimate shot at a successful album.

I am amazed that anyone would take someone's gender preference into account when it comes to talent. I do agree however that American Idol should be a competition for aspiring talent. Not people who have had record deals, or been in contracted bands.. it should be a door for those who have had no doors opened to them.. not people who have already had contacts, contracts or other industry promoting opportunities. I always thought that was the whole point of this show.. everyday people who had unrecognized talent getting a chance to compete against others with unrecognized talent .. getting their 'chance' to make it. American Idol has totally lost it's focus.

Gay or not, Adam seems to have all the momentum at the moment and it's going to be hard to stop him now. If anyone can stop him it's Allison, who is the only reason I started watching American Idol for the very first time. If she is sent home, well, that's the day I will likely stop watching. This kid really knows how to rock!

Adam and Allison are truly the best of the bunch, and both come across as being totally professional in every sense of the world.

Danny, Matt and Chris, likewise, all show great promise, but clearly it's a race between the two big A's, – Adam and Allison who will become the next big A – America's Idol!

While Scott has clearly demonstrated talent, it was the right decision to reserve the "save" for a contestant who has a clear shot of making it to the top. Anoop however should have been the one to go today, not Scott. Yes, he can sing, in a choir perhaps... but he is NOT a performer. His vocals were actually flat, and painful to listen to. It was abundantly obvious that the judges were avoiding negative feedback as a result of the previous "incident" with Anoop. This led to a return to reality when Scott hit the stage...the next unfortunate victim. America's viewers are impressionable, and it led to Scott's demise, and the judges knew it. You could see the guilt on their faces...they knew that Scott should have had one last performance next week.

If you look at the past winners (with a couple of exceptions), most of them have gone on to great heights and are selling records like crazy. I truly believe that Adam will win..............so what, who cares what his sexual preference is.......look at Elton John, he is phenomenal and has been for many many years. Let's start voting on the talent, not who is the cutest.........everyone will have a bad night, a bad song, but that doesn't mean that they should be voted out for one bad night,. Look at Danny. Look at his choice of songs, look very carefully..... How many have been about his hero (dead wife) etc... Now that is blatantly trying to get a sympathy vote. I think he can sing, but if people are honest he is playing that card to the HILT....

if you are going to point sympathy cards then point them at the people that are blatantly using them... Danny can sing, buit he makes me sick playing that card every week. Whats sad is no one has called him on it yet, maybe with the Poor BLIND Scott (I am being Sarcastic Scott hasn't said anything about his being Blind just the people who feel it is their responisiblilty to keep pointing it ou) gone people will.

the guitar. Either way, I think he has talent and really admire him.
He is such a sweet guy and I wish him all the best in life. They shouldv'e asked Paula instead of Simon. He's too mean. Paula would

i believe Adam has done Wicked but in L.A., not on Broadway. there is a difference, not to mention, many people who come to Idol are already performing and some have even recorded but not in a mainstream way. trust me when i say that being in a nightly show such as Wicked does not pay some sort of outrageous money nor does it make you a star. it is a job where you get paid to do something you love more than waiting tables. when/if Adam wins, it is still rags to riches because this has clearly been his dream his entire life. he was born to perform and he does it so very well. and what is with the gay thing? jeez is Adam the first gay man on Idol??? i think not. Clay Aiken, and Sanjaya both come to mind and there have been many more, including this season. who cares? do we need to know who a person is sleeping with to buy a cd? get a grip.

Wow....you mean we can't have a gay superstar singer? Where have YOU been for the last 50 years...the list is endless....and YES the girls still screamed for all of them. The entertainment world as a whole, has a myriad of fabulous gay and lesbian folks within, many whom have become multi-million album sellers and earners. Adam, gay or bi-sexual or just eccentric, will be no stranger to being a gay superstar. Like HELLO!!!

In the beginning of AI, I thought Adam was over-dramatic and that his"look" was fake-like a Billy Joe copy cat and also that he was stuck on himself. I was sooooo wrong. Last night's performance of "Mad World" along with all the other totally different, but always great performances; He really is in a league of his own. I predict he will not only win AI, but will be a super-star! He appears to be a sincere guy and always nice to everyone. Whoever says he's gay, that's old news. Everyone knows he is and who cares? Except all those girls' who have a crush on him and wishes he wasn't. And all those anti-gays who just don't want to admit how talented Adam is. It was sad to see Scott go, even though it was his time. I don't understand why so many (including the judges) like Lil so much. I have never seen her have even one great performance. All the other one's left, I like..however, they all look silly next to Adam, even Danny, who is starting to sound the same every time.

Scott was certainly not one of the top 5 vocalists... while I don't think he did the worst on Tuesday night, his overall performances have not been at the same level as many of the other contestants. It's not to say he's bad, just to say he's neither as good (peaks), nor as versatile as some of the other opponents. I'm sure we'll be hearing more from Scott in the future... but he just needs to work on his range some before he's ready to go further in his career.

    I agree with Scott leaving.

I don't agree with people thinking Adam should win. He's already done broadway. When I think of Idol, I think a rags to riches story. Where someone has never had the opportunity but tried Idol do get their voice out there. Adam already has his voice out there. I don't believe Anoop should win, but he has the perfect story. [Friends thought he sang well, so he tried out.]

As for Adam being gay, I have no issue with that. The issue I have is that he has pictures all over the internet of him wildly making out with other guys. I don't know if that's appropriate or not, or a sign of a role model for children.

I understand that celebrities have pictures of themselves kissing, but the gay community is held to a different standard.

I believe Adam has great talent, but he's already been able to use his voice in broadway. I think Matt has come leap and bounds further than anyother contestant and would love to see him win.

First, if you don't want to know who got voted off....than don't read....it's as simple as that.

Second, it was the right choice for Scott to go. He had a squeaky and off-pitched voice. Now don't get me wrong, that guy can play one hell of a song on the piano, and no one can deny that.

Third, the competition comes down between Kris, Allison, and Adam. Adam is good, but too much screaming even for my taste, but the guy has talent. I believe it will be between Kris and Allison, and I would be happy regardless of who won there, but I think Kris is more dynamic.

And lastly...Shecky...WHO CARES IF ADAM IS GAY?!?!?!?! Only an ignorant, narrow-minded, neanderthal would not like someone because of their lifestyle, it's his life, why should you care!? Just cause he is gay means he shouldn't win. It's a shame they let people like you post!

Allison will go far. Danny has a following to keep voting him in. Kris has the "cute" factor but probably won't be in the final two. Yes, he is an inspiration, no question (although I don't think he regards his lack of sight as a "disability.")
