Top 8: Flo Rida spins their heads right roundWho was Flo Rida's back-up singer? ![]() I need her to try out for the show. Is Flo Rida's song appropriate for the many young'uns that watch "AI" faithfully every week? I'm listening to the lyrics and hmmmm ... Someone needs to explain to me what he's doing on this show. I love hip-hop just as much as the next person, but his appearance seems an odd pairing for tonight's show, even with a No. 1 song. Top 8: The lights dim and ...Adam, Kris and Anoop stand up, and you know Adam has nothing to worry about. Did we really have to give the judges the opportunity to share their thoughts on his performance? I think Simon's standing O was enough. Adam is safe. Kris is safe and Anoop is back in the bottom three. Noop Dogg can't catch a break! He needs to buy a nameplate for the bottom three he is there so much! Top 8: I wish I could get them out of my headSeriously, I can so do without these group performances. The great eight sing Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get You Out of My Head," and now I will have that stupid "La, la, la" stuck in my head all night! Plus they didn't sound all that great. Bring back Frankie Avalon!!! Top 8: Frankie Avalon? Why is Paula Abdul wearing long, white gloves with a bracelet? I don't get that chick. The judges recap their thoughts on last night's performances, and there are no surprises. Holy crap on a cracker, what is Frankie Avalon doing on the show? He's sings "Venus," and I feel like I am in some sort of "Twilight Zone." Was he just brought on so we can learn that Simon will be 50? Frankie is looking fine though. Do not visit the final entry of the blog if you do not want to know the results. ** ![]() Somebody is going home tonight, and I have some feelings as to who it should be. Scott, you are a nice guy and we really like you, but it's time buddy. It's really time. My pup and I are sitting here pondering the seeming randomness of having Kellie Pickler and Flo Rida (pronounced "flow rider" for those of you not in the know) as tonight's performers. What were the producers thinking? Still looking forward to the show though. The intro is making me dizzy with the circling camera ... and away we go! - Lisa Respers France, CNN.com writer Watch 'American Idol' results with CNN.comLast night’s "American Idol" was almost all music from the 1980s, performed by the eight remaining contestants.
