Top 8: Who were your favorites?

The night yielded a few surprises: Scott abandoned the piano, and Adam changed his hair yet again.

But some things remained the same. Lil didn't deliver to expectations, and Allison turned in a performance way more mature than her years.

So what did you think? Was it all you hoped it would be? Don't forget to join us Wednesday night for the results show.

I will guess... the person leaving tonight will be either Anoop or Scott, but more Anoop than Scott. Sorry, Anoop fans. He's pretty good as a soloist for a Boy Band. His style is similar to Boyz2Men. He is still a star though and he has this velvety voice, he'll make it even without American Idol. I like him too but you'll have to put your best foot forward in EVERY performance, week after week. We'll see, this is just a wild guess.

Adam is a great singer. best performance was during motown week. Didn't See last night's performance but last week's was not good. Too much "banshee" singing as he has done in the past. If Adam just sings and not "banshee riff" every song, then he will do great.
    My Top: 1. Danny 2. Adam 3. Allison/Matt (tied) 4.Kris
Anoop can sing but appearance doesn't match the voice-needs m/o.
scott sounds average. sounds like B. Hornsby. Not a fav.
Lil Round sounds typical, nothing spectacular, just average. Not a fav.
Watched every season of American Idol. This is the most talented Idol.
And so far, the right people are being voted off.

the remaining participants are mostly boring and forgetable. the screamer is intolerable and pretentious, the 'challenged' guy can't sing, the noop dog thinks he's a gift to the world. only Allison has any soul and makes me actually turn up the volume enough to really hear her go. boring season.

i noticed last season how much the judges were in the tank for the munchkin who finished second. but that was nothing like how they're acting about the screamer. the last 3 or 4 episodes have been choregraphed just for him to be showcased. lame. must remember that it is a hollywood production, shown on TV so we can't really trust what we see.

i'm done for this season. not worth watching anymore. i'll try again next season when the train wrecks begin again.

PS...no way the screamer sells CD's...unless they come packaged with headache relief meds.

i agree that Adam, Allison, Danny and Matt will be in the top 4, actually they will probably remain the top 4 throughout the contest.

Kris is cute, and can sing, but i dont think him and steve are in the league of the top 4. Lil Round, i love her voice very much, but i do agree, who is she and what is her style? she keeps promising to bring it on, and she doesnt. sad cause her voice is kicking.

i think anoop is awesome and very sweet. but again, not in the same league as the top 4

Adam Baldwin? Overrated. He's not a singer I could listen to on the radio. He's way over the top...a total theatre major, if not drama queen. And have you noticed how he not only dyes his hair, but his Eyebrows, too??
Allison will meet and probably beat Adam in the finals.

Here is my two cents: Of the remaining contestants, there is only one artist whom I personally would buys album. And that is Allison. Her voice is sultry, smokey, hot... Her singing Bonnie Rait this past weekend was perfect. She is going to be a star regardless of this competition. Like Kara said, 'Let's go to the studio and record!' Nuf said. Also, it's been proven that the female contestants, with the exception of Daughtry, have been the successes. This year is no different.

It was nice to see some people know what true talent is. Sorry I don't get the Adam thing he's good but there is way to much hype about him. What people need to realize American Idol means someone you hear on the radio and you want to buy their CD. Adam belongs on Broadway I would have no problem seeing on Broadway. Buy one of his CD'S hell to the no. Allison,Matt, and Danny have the whole package. This competition is a singing competition (as Simon says) Adam's vocal tone is pretty annoying It's great to hear him for one song but I couln't take a whole night of him!!!

Well for those of you who truly have musical apptitudes, you know that most of the singers are "ok" but the only singer that has a natural beautiful singing voice is Anoop. Granted, he needs to work on his stage presence, but his voice is head and shoulders above the rest. He has a natural gift. Do I think he'll win? No, but Idol is going to be his platform to make some great CDs!

Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Freddy Mercury, Elton John, Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Stephen Tyler, David Lee Roth, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Axl Rose, Robert Plant, Bono, and so on and so on...

What did all of these names have in common:

    1) They are some of the most dynamic and successful entertainers of the pop/rock era
    2) They were all "over-the-top" in performance and/or fashion style, yet they pulled it off.
    3) They were also not everyone's "cup of tea"

I am by no means saying that Adam Lambert is in the same class with these individuals YET, but he is clearly showing the traits and potential to move in that direction.

You may not like his vocal style or song interpretation. You may not like how he looks or performs. But to deny that he has immense vocal talent and stage presence is just plain ignorant.

He may be too polarizing to win AI this year, but he will easily be in the same class with Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Chris Daughtry as far a post-Idol commercial success is concerned.

Adam does not sound like a girl when he sings, he sounds like a man who is using the upper portion of his larnyx to sing...a talent/ability that is rare and interesting AND appealing.
As for the marketbility of his sound...I am reminded of Barry Gibbs (of the Bee Gees ) his numerous hit songs, Frankie Avalon (Sherry Baby..among others)...Lou Christie (Lightening is striking again...etc), The Beach Boys (Sufer Girl..etc)...
These artists sold millions using their various "falsetto" voices.

Not marketable? I beg to differ!!

How can anyone think Danny is the best singer?? Everybody loses someone they love; they get over it and move on... This show is fueling the sympathy vote for Danny. His voice is hoarse, he sounds like Taylor Hicks and Michael MacDonald. Nothing new or exciting here, plus he shouts instead of sings and is flat most of the time.

Now, Adam has complete control of his vocals. He has incredible range. For those of you who cannot recognize (or missed last night's) true talent, I feel sorry for you. Adam is by far the best in this year's competition.

As someone who quit watching after they cut Rose during Hollywood week except for a performance here and there, I thought I'd give it another go last night. Since I didn't see Adam's performance (DVR), I've rated them in how well I liked their singing.

    1. Allison (Flawless and Moving)
    2. Matt (Entertaining)
    3. Anoop (Enjoyable)
    4. Danny (OK)
    5. Lil Rounds (Liked her will do attitude)
    6. Scott (Sounds like he's giving up)
    7. Kris (The song was never in tune)

As for Adam, I caught his peformance last week (only one I saw) and thought it was horrible. He was not in tune, wailed like a banshee in critical areas of the song, and really slaughtered it overall. From reading all the Adam fan worship above, his other performances must be outstanding. Otherwise, I'm amazed he didn't get cut from the one time I did see him.

Alison is my favorite and there seems to be a prejudice with her. Simon says she needs to be more likeable.i guess she doesn't get the votes for she is not a blond, blue eyes..

    In my opinion:
Adam & Kris: Best overall ARTISTS. But Adam shouldn't win because he is more of a lead singer of a rock band, than a solo artist. Until last night I've thought Kris was this season's David Cook taking tough songs and making them fabulous. But even David had a boring performance once or twice during his season. So I'm still thinking Kris Allen should be the winner.

Allison & Anoop: Best overall VOCALISTS. But I just don't see their likability translating to the public, despite the fact that they both seem like wonderfully likeable people.

Danny & Matt: Best overall stage ENTERTAINERS, but not exactly stellar artists & vocalists.. Matt's vocals are superb when they are ON. And, Danny has a cool sounding voice. But neither are consistent with their vocals and I think their time will eventually run out.

Lil: Needs to stop bringing boring status quo performances showing her powerhouse vocals and needs to show some artistry and tender vocal range. If she makes it through this week, she has one more chance or should go home. Yet, I keep rooting for her to do her thing and get in her groove. And she did a great job of transforming her looks from cute to a stunnign beauty.

Scott: Time to go home. I'm really impressed by what he brought to the table and ate my words from thinking he didn't belong in the Top 13. But I feel he's shown us what he can do. Last night's vocals were so uncomfortable to listen to. Maybe he wouldn't be interested in going there, but I think he would be a huge success as a Christian Music artist.

I agree that Danny is a true soul singer (meaning he sings from his soul), and I believe him when he sings. He is not as commercial as say Adam is, but I would buy his albums. Danny and Allison should team up. Anoop singing true colors just didn't work for me, Cindy Lauper (for those of us who remember) was a very original and unique artist, ahead of her time, yet Anoop is not, he is boring and his clean cut image is boring. Reminds me of a spoiled rich kid. Matt still reminds me of a clone of Justin Timberlake and Kris reminds me of a not as talented version of Dave Mathews. Lil has got some pipes but she has yet to do a Mary J. song or a song to really show her originality, I think she maybe in trouble. Scott may be in trouble this week too, but I think Anoop should go.

Adam Lambert is a sheer genius. His talent, voice, and charisma place him at the top of the best people to ever be on this show. I truly believe that he will be a huge success when he leaves the show. His voice is so dynamic and versatile. Matt G. is underrated – he's another one with great potential. As for Adam winning it all. It's hard to say. There are a lot of folks out there who can't deal with him. If the con's' outnumber the pro's when it comes to Adam. And if they all vote. Then the other person besides Adam who is in the final.....that's the person who will win.

I plan to vote for that person whoever it happens to be.

Spoiler alert - There are a lot of folks out here who are NOT Adam-groupies! Like probably thousands, the 7 min.-overtime was not caught by my TIVO, so I was curious about the missing performance segment. The snippets here were PLENTY-enough for me to decide this was another "country" nite for Glambert...and I totally DISagreed with Simon. Rather than stand-up for this person, I would have sat on my hands had I been in the audience...and BOOOED!

The only songs I've listened to and enjoyed by him are: Black or White, Tracks of My Tears and one other ballad, which he performed amazingly.

When are people going to "get it" that "unique and different" doesn't translate to "FAB-ulous"?????

P.S. IF I had been able to get through on the phone lines, I would have voted for Allison 1st and Danny 2nd. I like Matt, but his vocals are uneven; I also like Kris, but the song choice this week was–in Simon's vernacular–"forgettable".

I'm most disppointed in Lil because she seemed to have the voice but hasn't understood a word the judges have told her each week. Sorry Lil...it's time to go home.

Adam....I can't get enough of him. He is gorgeous and his voice is so over the top.

Allison...that is the oldest soul in a young peson I've ever seen. That girl is awesome.

Danny...I've been predicting him to win it from day one. He's fallen a little short but he can pull it off if he really wants to.

Adam has always been my favorite, I don't think that I would watch if it weren't for him. I can't wait to see what he does each week. As a artist , I find him to have the most talent, not just as a singer, but also see him heading off to Hollywood. I personally love his style and hair and makeup, this seperates him from the boring, conservative styles.
    Go Adam, create and enjoy!!!

Every year it seems the Talent pool gets more and more shallow. I cannot remember a season where I have heard the Judges say "That was not the right song choice for you" more than this year. I can honestly say IMO that it seems some decent singers are getting booted just because they are choosing songs they want to sing rather then songs they can sing. I really would like to hear Allison sing in her style instead of sounding exactly like Kelly Clarkson week in and week out. It is getting old and we already have 1 Kelly Clarkson, isn't that enough?

Come on Mike. You just now getting it. It was setup even though they got rid of Junot.

Look back last season. They get rid of the best black singers early on won't even show there auditions. THey let the mediocre ones slip in so they can cut them, rightfully, and they can get their non-black american idol. We know blacks can sing.

'Lil is not that great of singer. Any of the AA females past would blow her out of the water. THey tried to get Jasmine pushed through, even gave her a second chance. That black Brittany Spears didn't get past the black community.

As I have alway stated they want a white person who sounds black, oh, or a dumb blonde i.e Pickler.

I am very disappointed with how this season is turning out. It is beyond obvious that this competition seems 100% rigged this year. Judge's save? Are you serious? It is crystal clear that they are holding on to it in the event that Adam Lambert gets voted off.

Speaking of Adam Lambert. I have tried and tried again, but I do not see the fascination with this guy. He seems like a nice enough person and he's got some talent, but as an American Idol? You're going to stand this guy next to Jordin Sparks? Carrie Underwood? Ruben? I can see Adam killing it on Broadway in Jesus Christ Superstar or Phantom or something like that, but as a mainstream recording artist? I don't think so. He manages to shriek through every song he performs. I just don't get it. Not one bit. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I just simply don't get it.

The same can be said for Allison Iraheta. She's got gumption, I'll give her that much, but what can be said for someone who, when they sing, you can't understand single word? She screams through her performances as well, and her "I'm such a hard, edgy, punk rock teen" act is really starting to wear on me.

Yet these are the two performers that the judges literally drool over every week and it is not fair in the least to the rest of the group. Lil and Kris did make bad song choices this week, I will admit that, but I think that they are both stellar compared to Adam and Allison. Meagan may have been a goofball and she did make some bad song choices, but at least she was edgy without trying to be.

I like Matt. Anoop has to go. Same can be said for Scoot. Danny is a toss up. I think he's good...but not as good as others may think. Compared to other seasons, I think this one is really lacking, but from the lot we have to choose from, I do like Lil and Kris an awful lot. Should they both be voted off before the final, I doubt I'll even finish this season. It just seems way too planned out for my taste...

I agree that Adam is #1. I do have a problem with the negative comments about Scott. Would he have done better to wear dark glasses like Stevie or Ray Charles or even Jeff Healy? I know Scott didn't do as well last night, but when he sang in the past, I just loved him. Keep in mind, when you by CD's you dont see their face. The best way to judge your idols is close your eyes when they sing. You would be surprised on how much it affects your opinion. I knew Scottie would have never won, but he has a future in the business, and I am glad that America helped him get this far. I feel that this is the best top 10 ever on Idol (except for Megan).

He is at best a cruise ship singer. The rest were all good with Adam, Allison, and Danny the best in that order. Actually, I could see Adam in the movies...or on Broadway. He makes you want to watch him and he seems genuine and sincere. If the whole of them stand together on stage, it is Adam who draws your eyes....not just because of how attractive he is....but because of something else. I hope that he is giving sensible choices after this show....sometimes the handlers of these kids make gawdawful choices that just make me cringe....like whose idea was it to make that horrible movie with Kelly and that curly headed kid. They need to be very very careful with Adam and not squander someone we can all enjoy....look long range and not greedy.

Tough choice tonight, and I am not sure what will happen. Scott had a bad night but by no means is it his time to go and dido for Lil. I like to tally the number of bad performances for each contestant and make a determination based on those results. Scott has had a few not so hot performances but no way near as many as Anoop, Matt or Kris. To be fair, I would say that either Anoop or Matt should go tonight. Neither of them seem very original to me and they have had more bad reviews than Scott or Lil. I am sticking with my prediction of the top three being

    1. Adam
    2. Danny
    3. Allison

in that order. Fourth spot is going to be a battle between Lil, Scott, and Kris.

Adam is by far the best performer on American Idol ever. Depending on the type of music he decides to settle in on, will determain just how great he will be recognized. I see a long term contract in Vegas for him!

Allison is unbelievable for her age, I really should come done to her and Adam. Maybe this could be the first double winners on Idol!

Lil has completely lost it. Major let down from earlier weeks. I still have her as third best but she needs to come back next week with something amazing.

Matt, Kris, and Danny are in the middle....good but not great.

Anoop has nothing going, pretty much blah blah blah.

That brings us to Scott. The sympathy votes have got to stop. The game is over, he's terrible. Nice guy and all and should be commended for his effort, but as far as talent goes? Lets face it, if you take awat his disability, he would have never made it to Hollywood.

I have learned over the years to always set my DVR 5 minutes longer than the show but last night went past the 5 minute mark. So after last night, I now set my DVR 30 minutes after the show is set to end. Hope that works, maybe I should set it an hour past.

Anyway, the judges were right about Lil. I can't believe Simon gave Adam a standing O. I agreed but my fav is Anoop.

My top 4 are Adam, Danny, Allison and Anoop!

Danny is a talented vocalist, and his upbeat personality is just infectious!! Anoop can also sing, and again, I like his personality 🙂 Allison is a great singer, but I agree with Simon that she needs to become more comfortable off-stage giving interviews etc. Finally, Adam is the most technically perfect vocalist on the show. The control he has over his voice, and his range are AMAZING.

    I <3 Adam!

Adam is in a league of his own. No one can even come close. I used to like Danny before I heard him sing alot, but he always sounds the same. No versatility and last night his song sounded like something I would hear in a elevator, but Scott has to go home this week. Top 4 are Adam, Chris, Allison, and Matt.

I kind of want to see Adam in the bottom 3 so the judges can use that save on him. Hes obviously the best and most entertaining. Why do you think hes always at the end of the show? They want their show to end on a high note so viewers are pumped to vote. If the show ends on a boring performance most people will go, "a hell" and turn it off.

Definitely Adam, Danny, Allison and Matt's night to shine. I think Kris will round out the top 5 eventhough I thought his performance last night was unimpressive. Anoop moved up with his rendition last night. Sorry Scott...your time is a knockin'. Lil, you have a decent voice, but your not getting it at all. The last 3 or 4 times the judges have told you that your not picking the right song and putting some flair and artistry into your songs and each of last 3 or 4 times you keep telling them your going to do what they want...and you don't. Sorry Lil, 3 times...3 strikes...your next after Scott.

Once again Adam illustrates he has musical vision, that ability to take a song and not just put his stamp on it but also make it appealing. Adams rendition of "Mad World" and stage vibe was all consuming; an almost vampire-like grasp on my attention. I commented to my wife after his perfomance, "He's better than Carrie Underwood."

Adam is far above the other talent on the show this season. He will not only win AI, he will join the ranks of the Beatles, Elvis, and Michael Jackson in status and popularity. Yeah. I did say that. And I meant it. He has it all: physically he's second to none. But his vocal range is one of the best of any singer, ever. What makes me a fan of his though is that with all that going for him, he remains humble. The kid rocks and I hope he takes it all.

Unfortunately, it's time for Kris or Scott to go based on last nights performace. Anoop....you did well last night so that may be the one thing that saved you because otherwise you would be in the bottom three with Kris and Scott. All of you are good....but only one can win! Doesn't it seem a bit odd that Adam is getting preferential treatment? I don't recall the "powers that be" ever letting any one contestant always sing last or second to last since I started watching the show. While I do believe Adam is an excellent singer, the advantage always seems to have gone to the person that sings last (they are better remembered for the night???) What happened to the continual rotation of contestants for singing order each week? Seems a bit unfair if you ask me.

I have watched since American Idol began several years ago and really feel like this is the worst season since the start.
I'm really disappointed that in this stage of the game, this is what we have left to find a star.
Adam was not my favorite in the beginning but has really impressed me with the wide range of what he is capable of doing.
I don't think that some of the contestants are listening to the judges and making the changes that they need to and that this will prove to be a major mistake for them on the show.
I've really changed my mind since this season started because Lil' was my favorite but she just hasn't proved herself yet in my opinion.
Matt can really sing and I love Danny but was not impressed with him at all last night.

Allison and Adam are the best singers of the bunch. I was affected by Fox going over and couldn't find video of Adam anywhere.

They are going to have to give judges a time limit. They are talking too much at the beginning, especially Paula, and too much among themselves. This running over can't happen again.

Lil is getting shafted. She's sung well every week and keeps getting hit with the songs are too old or not current enough. Randy keeps telling her to sing Mary or Keisha Cole. Adam is leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else. He is by far the most talented and most amazing ARTIST this season and possibly out of all the past seasons. His command of the stage and audience, stage presence and vocal ability are second to none. Interesting note: notice how during last weeks results show while everyone sort of poked some lighthearted fun at each other and gave impressions of one another, NO ONE touched Adam while other top performers from this season (Danny and Kris) had plenty of good impersonators. Why? Because NO ONE can. Adam is in a class by himself and in the last three weeks along he has shown that he can run the gamut of every musical style and tailor it to himself and make it his own. The one emphatic sign of a true artist. GO ADAM!!! You are the best man to win this season.

Are people going to flood the phone lines for a performance they didn't see? The judges really didn't seem to be taking any more time than they had in previous weeks, and there were only 8 contestants, but somehow the show wound up running long and the scandalous gay contestant missed the cutoff.

American Idol sucks. I'm fine with that – you wanna watch it fine. but tonight the hacks at Fox couldn't keep the show on schedule and it ran over by eight (EIGHT!) minutes. I mean – how unprofessional!?!? Are they just letting interns run their live programming? For a sixty minute show to run over by 13% – that's just grossly unprofessional. Again, show sucks...why does poor production matter? It matters because it adversely effects one of Fox's good shows. Fringe started 8 minutes late so it ended eight minutes after everyone's DVR stopped recording. This is just like Fox. They have no respect for good shows. They've canceled lots of great shows and let their stupid karaoke show distract and diminish the few good ones they don't cancel.

The show producers need to make amends for running the show long and cutting off the final performance of the night for anyone using a DVR. To add insult to injury, they charge to watch the performance on itunes. It's their fault we missed it...they should post it on their website for free. And they need to figure out how to keep the show on time. How many seasons have they been doing this now....? You'd think they could get it right!!!!

His stage presence is uncanny he really knows how to work a crowd. He reminds me of mix between Led Zepplin and Guns in Roses. Also, I wonder what people would think if the judges didnt say what they thought. I bet it would be a lot different!!

still feel pretty much like I always have about Adam. I think he can sing, but I also think he’s overrated. Everyone fawns all over him like he’s the second coming, and I think for the most part, he’s just another cute guy that has a decent voice. The screaming girls will keep him in.
Now I do think if they were to have a hair band/metal night, he would blow the roof off that set..but otherwise, he just screams a lot and sometmes hits the right notes. I heard more than one person tonight say that he couldn’t hit the high notes without sounding like a preteen boy whose voice is changing.
But to me, I feel like with most everything he does, he just makes it sound kind of ‘creepy’.
I don’t doubt he’ll make the final two, and he may even win..but, there’s no clear winner yet, IMO.

Allison was really good again tonight–she has a heckuva voice especially for being so young! She deserves to stay as long as she possibly can. And I think that when Simon had said they’d have saved “one of them” last week, I believe it would have been her.

Anoop actually did a pretty good rendition of True Colors..I wasn’t sure at first..he’s sure not Cyndi Lauper..LOL! But I thought he pulled off a nice version of it.
He goes from weeks where he’s really good, to weeks of not so good, and then back to good..so I’m not sure where he’s going to end up!

Matt..all I’m going to say is that the world already has one Justin Timberlake…do we really need another one?

Lil Rounds sounded okay. She’s got a decent voice, but there’s something about her stage presence that I don’t care for. I dont see her staying around a whole lot longer.

Scott–oh Scott. I was always a Scott fan. I never was one of those that would complain about him..I actually liked his singing, and I think he has a really wicked sense of humor..but unfortunately, over the last few weeks he’s starting to lose me a little bit. I’d like to see him stay, but will understand when he has to go. (

Kris..I like Kris, and he can sing, but his song tonight really didn’t work for me. Again, I hope he stays as long as possible, but I could see his time coming up soon too.

Now onto my personal fave.. Danny.
I love Danny. Now I’d never heard a version of Stand By Me like the one he performed tonight, so with Ben E King’s version in my head, it didn’t sound ‘right’. It sounded GOOD, IMO, but not ‘right’. But overall if we’re judging on musical skill; singing skill–I still think he sounded excellent.

His talent is totally over exaggerated. Sorry, but it’s the truth. He can only sing in one register, which is so high it gives me a headache. That ‘ring of fire’ performance put me over the edge, awful!! I think Johnny Cash was rolling over in his grave after that one. I agree with whoever said he would be great in a Broadway show, something like Sweeny Todd, but I think Allison should be this years AI. I really think that Allison is the best singer of the group, and if you don't like what she's wearing, just close your eyes and listen. If you buy a CD of one of them, you'll just be listening. Adam is true talent and awesome. Amazing performances weekly and this one was outstanding. The best and top 3 are: Adam, Allison, and Matt. Matt's good and very versatile. Adam is # 1 and totally the best of all.

To Bridgette, I agree some as to Allison's outfits but she is expressing her personal style. She has amazing raw talent and,as far as age is concerned, LuAnne Rimes was 15 (I believe) whan she appeared on the Tonight Show and blew everyone away, so age shouldn't be an issue. Her voice is the issue and she has a great voice.
Bottom 3: Scott, Lil, and Kris
Lil has a voice she doesn't use effectively, Scott, same o same o and mundane, and Kris just boring with no range tonight was the most karaoke for him of all, time for one of these to go with Danny who's ok but more like a cruise ship singer, and Anoop piano bar singer, soon to follow – hopefully.

I've been reading these blogs and WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE? Adam is a total freak - he's disgusting and he ABSOLUTELY does NOT deserve to win this season. He is nobody's idol! This just goes to show how this world accepts anything these days. Talented - are you kidding me? He is disgusting. This show no longer is searching for talent - a person can win if they're weird and just plain ODD and Adam certainly fits that bill. He should NEVER win! Having said that, I'm not overly impressed with anyone this year, but if Adam Lambert wins, then this show has definitely sunk to the lowest level ever!!!

I have been reading comments degrading Ryan Seacrest's job of moving the show along tonight.

What A Undeserved Criticism! Ryan was moving things along just fine. People who work are DVR'ing are missing out and it is most definitely NOT Ryan's fault.

It was all the commercials during the show. I live in New York and I have to say 5 minutes for commercials in one set of commercials through out the show is not necessary when you are tuning in for ENTERTAINMENT.

It is all the greedy corporate sponsors who want to stuff as many ads in a very popular show while in the process of ticking off the consumers who want to watch the show and are less likely to buy the product if it ruins their entertainment.

Adam is by far the champ this season. Right now I'd say Lil goes home this week (was it just me or did she look RLY ticked during the judges' comments), Scott has to go after that (if I listen to him without looking at the TV screen (like on a radio) I want to change the channel immediately!), final 6: Adam, Danny, Anoop, Allison, Kris, Matt. After that, Danny has to go. His church boy/soul patrol vibe just isn't working for anyone and I'm confident that if he makes an album its gonna flop. Next to go, as much as I hate to say it, has got to be Anoop (my personal fav!), he can sing ballads but if he has to sing a "high-energy" song, he's as good as gone. Top 4: Adam, Allison, Kris, Matt. At this point, I don't know what order they will go in but Adam is going straight to the top.

Adam and Allison have potential to become unique singers. One or two great CD's a year for many years to come in many different styles telling different stories.

Danny, Matt, Kris - a dime a dozen. If one of them would win you'd get one or two good CD's out of them, then some overmarketed too quickly produced junk and nobody will remember them after that.

The others... well, no chance they'll make it.

Sorry to tell you Jim, but the producers use a lot of the rehearsal clips when they get into a time bind. The show was supposed to end at 9:01, but went way past...that's the reason Matt and Adam's reviews were cut so short.

The judges and the producers have already seen the rehearsals at least once. As a result, the judges can already decide what they are going to say...providing that the contestant delivers the same performance.

And if you haven't noticed, the producers have a "formula" for the order of the contestants based on the rehearsals. They always select what they believe is a strong performance in the first lead-off position, put one or two strong performances in the middle position(s) and finish with what they believe will be the strongest performance of the night. That's been their strategy all season. However, it gets harder to position the contestants in that way as the number of them gets smaller. Sort of like the way performers play their sets at concerts...the artist always saves his/her last encore song as one of their most popular, and plays a big hit at the opening, and another big hit right before their intermission. Works the same on Idol.

Except for Danny and Anoop's performances, I was terribly bored and unimpressed tonight, (and I don't even like Anoop most of the time). It seems that, despite the weekly theme, the contestants must have a very limited number of songs from which to choose, given the dull selections they sang this evening. Who knows? Perhaps they're all just tired and burning out.

I also can't believe that the judges told Allison to speak more. Show after show, I just want for her to shush it–she seems to be unaware that the mic is on and talks way too loud to the other contestants on stage. Yes, she's still a kid, but I've been ready for someone to have a talk with her about professionalism.

I wish that Scott and Lil would both go home this week. Enough is enough.

Hey Scott, I think I can help with why people are not voting for Allison. I see her as this badly dressed wannabe rock star, with this blinding red hair. She comes across a little kooky, like Megan to some degree and I can't hear her sing for all the distrations. I start listening to her and my mind wonders to that bright hair and then the ugly outfit, either too tight, too short, or not age appropriate. She's not a rock star, she's a 16 year old kid, who's trying too hard and that's why she's not connecting with some people. She needs to relax and stop trying to be something she's not yet, and show people who she really is. Show a little personality and maybe people will like her more.

I would have LOVED to see Adam Lambert's performance, from what I read it was awesome! Unfortunately my DVR doesn't record American Idol beyond and hour. SOOO ANNOYING! I was able to see every performance BUT his. They need to lay off the commercials – they don't need that many and they know it. The judges really need to keep it to a minimum (Paula's weekly diatribes are beginning to get annoying) and Seacrest desperately needs to police the judges nonsensical banter between each other and keep things moving along.

If all those things were considered, perhaps the show could actually be an hour long ... and those of us who DVR/Tivo'd the show would have been able to see the whole thing.

    >>>Adam’s clip at the end for voting numbers was NOT from his performance! FOUL!! FOUL!!<<<

The review clips at the end of Idol have never been from the actual performance. All of the performers go through a dress rehearsal in front of an audience. This is so that the camera crew can decide which shots & angles to use when they actually sing live. They do the exact same thing on Dancing With the Stars. There just isn't enough turnaround time to edit the live performances & prepare the clips during the show so they have those ready ahead of time.

Here's an easy solution....don't look at this until after the show is over for you!...duh!

Adam is always my favorite, however, my second in definitely Allison. It's time for Scott to go home, I'm over it. Bottom three: Lil', Scott, and Kris.

Jim ... don't matter. The boy is the best on the show. Hands down.

    1. Adam
    2. Matt
    3. Kris, even though it was not good

All the rest. I'd like to see Danny go home, but, not until the judges save is used or the Top 5. He is zero talent who is reaping the pity vote.

Trina.....why in the world would you be reading this if you didn't want any spoilers? No one is forcing you!

    Allison delivers every week.
When she sang tonight, it brought me back to 1990, when a
    raw talent named
Mariah Carey (not a star yet) did "Love Takes Time"
    on the Tonight Show.

Ok I feel like we've been scammed.... Adam's clip at the end for voting numbers was NOT from his performance! Maybe it was from a dress rehearsal or something, but if you rewind the performance, you'll hear him miss the last screeching note at the end, which you don't see in the clip Ryan Seacrest shows. FOUL!! FOUL!!!

Y'all are spoilers ... it's MST here and it's only half way over. I've read all of your comments, but will still watch the entire show. Tomorrow night, don't post the "loser" until AFTER PST! Please!!!!

Adam Lambert is in a different league from the others. He makes the rest look like they are performing in a high school talent contest.

Favorites were Adam, Allison, Anoop, Danny & Matt. The bottom 3 Kris, Lil & Scott. Scott should go home, but who knows how the voting will go.

Adam was awesome again; Allison is starting to impress me. Scott and Kris and Anoop have to go! The whole thing is pointless because Adam is far and away the best contestant ever on Idol. Ever.
