Top 9: Let's not even pretend**SPOILER ALERT: This entry reveals the contestant leaving the show. Do not read this entry of the blog if you do not want to know the results.** Wow. That was quick. Ryan sent Anoop back as safe, and Simon let it be known that Megan didn't even have to bother to sing for her survival. She was finito. It had to happen, but the way it went down was abrupt. Megan sang, badly again, offered a few remarks and a "Baby, I'm coming home," and it's done. She cried. And so did I, but mine were tears of relief. |

Well Jr. – Actually we didn't FORGET Ring of Fire. That performance was genius and we watch it over and over again. As far as I am concerned it was one of the best and most sensual performances EVER on American Idol. If you've got it you've got it – and Adam has definately got it.
I don't understand all the love for Adam. I just don't get him. I don't like his voice. Too much screaming. Very self indulgent. Did we all forget about "The Ring of Fire"?
P Barron: Do you really think that Simon has the time to be vendictive? The truth of the matter is, if the girl said she didn't care about Simon's critique, why was she still there, there are plenty of other, better, singers that want to put the effort into what this show is all about.

Shame on Simon. If Megan said that she didn't care, then the vendictive Simon said he didn't either. The door slammed.

i'm glad megan went home. her voice was terrible and she should NOT have made it this far. (she obviously made it on looks)
i like scott, but it's time for him to go too. i want adam and danny in the finals.
She should never have been there in the first place.
Maybe all you people should think back and blame the judges who kept calling her "unique and relevant" they were setting her up for failure. I think she has a really nice tone to her voice and with the proper songs and coaching she'd be great. But it's wrong to blame her for buying into the hype that the judges put in her head.
Anoop has had his moments but does not have what it takes to be #1.
THank goodness! I was tired of listening to Cat Woman trying to sing. She sounded like a bad impersonation of Eartha Kitt (who I love) doing Cat Woman trying to impersonate Corin Baily Ray! Sometimes "different" starts to grate on your nerves real quick.
I love watching "So You Think You Can Dance".....please no Megan...NOOOOOOOO.
Was Megan that pretty? Seems a lot of you women on here are jealous of a beauty that I can't see in Megan.
Funny how so many people like Smoky Robinson, Simon and others thought Megan was current and original. She just didn't fit American Idol's formula for churning out "popular" singers.
Does anybody listen to Adele, Furtado, Winehouse, etc.? There is certainly a current market for Megan.
However, having said that, Megan could not get control of her body! Last night's chicken dance and flight of the crow to the bottom three was really uncomfortable. That's why Paula said she should get a stool Tuesday night.
It's coming down to Kris and Adam, unless Allison can come up with some way to be relevant again.
I've been giving Megan O-4 since the season began. I would have been upset if she didn't go home. Weird attitude also and her moves were amateurish and gawky. Should have gone the first week.
So, what I don't get is this,....the so called "Judges" whom I prefer to call the "Critic-Four" ,.....as they are nothing but, sorry and do a poor job of communicating critique of any constructive dynamic,......ought to address and meet with the contestants DURING the rehearsal and song choice week, and, suggest to them good songs to sing instead of after the fact.
I mean, if these star hopefuls were already signed by a record label, their managers would tell them what songs would work and which wouldn't.
Instead, these "Critics" (Judges) treat them as if they should be entry level stars already, and, don't give them any lee-way as they expect them to be ready for the recording studio (which by the way; can juice anyone's voice and edit to cover any imperfections.
Shame on Simon Cowell for his obvious mean and hateful ways. Did this guy get any nurturing as a child?
I am sooo happy Megan is GONE! And what was that whole "I love you Simon, but I dont care" crap about? The judges are there to HELP the contestants, so they should be careful how they talk to them. One of the posts was right-she IS too cocky for how NOT talented she is. Wow, she is beautiful, but that's apparently all she's got going for her. Did u see Lady Gaga? Not a pretty girl, but damn she is talented. Megan should have left in the second week, NOT Alexis Grace. After Megan's weirdness and attitude tonight, they should call her, tell her she's NOT going on the tour, and call Alexis and ask her to join instead. I wont buy tickets this year to the tour if Megan is going to sing, cuz I don't want to put myself through that noise that comes out of her mouth. She is by far the worst vocalist the show has EVER had.
Sorry, folks, but if Danny Gokey and Adam Lambert are pitted against one another in the finale–I'm pretty sure Gokey won't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning. Listen, Danny certainly has a positive attitude toward this competition–and life in general–and he does his best to infuse his performances with a little soul and style, but he isn't anywhere NEAR Adam Lambert's level of talent. He's a one-note performer, bland and generic, and his vocal prowess was really put to the test this week when he struggled, hard, to hit the power notes. He isn't a "big" singer, and his pitch is all over the map. No, I think the whole "good guy" image will wear off at some point, and Danny Gokey will be remembered as an Idol also-ran.
I liked her up until tonight. From the moment the show started, she started acting like a snob. It's obvious she knew she was up, so she wanted to have as much fun as possible. Hence the "As much as I love you, I really don't care" comment to Simon. I was like.. oh .. way to kiss goodbye any chance of staying in.
I'm actually glad shes' gone. I want Adam to win! 😀 and Allison Second and Scott 3rd. 🙂
Good. It's too bad others far better were kicked off while she stayed.
America go it right this time, Megan had some very bad advice for song choice, if she stuck to the range and tunes for her voice, she would still be there.
Songs of the 80's should be interesting, so it seems song choice is all, and most of the singers are not getting good advice on song choice, the usual suspects will remain, who ever has that one bad song is so gone now.

Megan doesn't even have her son. She is giving her soon to be ex full custody. She wants to be free to do her duck dance, and prehistoric bird flight.
Meagan. Finally someone with an interesting voice. Gone. Oh well.. maybe some other year.

I'm going to miss Megan....the rest of these people, except for a couple, are so boring I can't wait for this season to be over. She really didn't care...she totally embraced her VFTW status and had some laughs while it lasted. Her "farewell" performance was a hoot. That, and Lady Gaga made my evening. Also, david Cook's performance really made me realize there is nobody in this year's group that is close to him in talent.
Ricky that's funny. She moved around the stage like a chicken, it was painful to watch. She couldn't even pretend to sing, what the heck was that warbling audio coming from her mouth?
She should have never made it into the Top 13. She was far too arrogant for someone with no talent. It's obvious that she gets away with a lot because she is pretty, but there comes a time when you must prove yourself and she just doesn't have the talent. She is far too goofy, her act was ridiculous. She is perfectly suited to being a children's entertainer which I think she would be great at.
Ha ha ha...goodbye Megan...you suck...I hate the sound of your voice...you sounded like kermit the frog on the last few lines of the song...What a poser...

I think that Lil sohuld go home next, then Scott. Lil is never fabulous, she is always good. Scott does the same thing every single time. Piano, vocals, slow songs. Kris is going to win it all!

Hopefully Scott's days are numbered. I agree he needs to go home...his performances are the same week after week.
You guys are so ignorant. The last two weeks she’s been calling out to Vote for the Worst. No one on this show is the least bit relevant except for Adam, at least Megan was quirky and embraced the banality that is American Idol.

She is a beautiful girl but one of the worst singers among any Idol top nine. How did she make it this far? Oh, she is beautiful–remember, Simon, this is a singing competition.
