Top 9: Might Megan fly away?Kris is safe, and for a hot second, we think Matt is in the bottom three until Ryan lets us know it's an April Fools' joke. After a sassy remark about how she didn't care about Simon's remarks, Megan is in the bottom three and she does some crazy bird squawk and mock flaps over to the seat. Nutty. Top 9: David Cook comes homeOf course, we don't find out right away what Ryan's shenanigans are all about. ![]() First, David Cook sings his new single, "Come Back to Me." He's in good form tonight except for the bizarre man brooch he is wearing. Must be a rocker thing. I always did think America got it right with him, and it's good to have him back so early in the season. His album cover is muy caliente and how nice that they presented him with the platinum album for his debut on stage. Congrats! Top 9: Games Ryan playsRyan breaks them into groups of three, and I am confused. Scott, Anoop and Danny in one. Kris, Megan and Matt in another. Adam, Lil and Allison in the other. I don't think I like where this may be be going ... Top 9: Life is hectic for an 'American Idol' hopefulWe get a glimpse into their busy lives. Photo shoots, red-carpet mayhem, a personal chef. Kris has trouble making a sexy face? Stop playing! Matt sounded great impersonating Gokey. Maybe he should have done that last night. Top 9: The judges have their say and the contestants take a JourneyWhy do the judges think they have to justify their remarks? If you feel like someone didn't nail it, you have to say it. That's their role. Plus, when it comes right down to it, America makes the decision. I'm sure I'll probably get heckled for saying that, but oh well. Some people's drink of choice is "Haterade," so be it. The gang sang "Don't Stop Believing" this week. I love me some Journey, but the contestants look like crazy chess pieces the way they keep shuffling around the stage. Top 9: Come on with the results!**SPOILER ALERT: Wednesday night’s blog will eventually reveal the contestant leaving the show. Do not visit the final entry of the blog if you do not want to know the results.** ![]() I have been humming J-Lo's "Waiting for Tonight" in anticipation of finding out who is going home. Please, please, please let it be Megan. It's so time for her to be out of here. If she escapes the bottom three tonight, I predict a collective roar across "American Idol" land. I know she believes her "fans" (and yes, I am also making the quote fingers) were all about her performance of "Turn Your Lights Down Low" last night, but I have to completely disagree. Love the pulsing, throbbing light intro. Such drama. Now let's see whether the results are as dramatic. –Lisa Respers France, CNN.com writer |
