Is 'Osbournes: Reloaded' the worst show ever?

I spent last night catching up with some new CD releases, so I didn’t get a chance to see “The Osbournes: Reloaded.” And now, based on the reviews, I wish I had. (I'll have to check YouTube and Hulu.)

This show is shaping up to be the biggest train wreck since “The Chevy Chase Show” – or maybe even “You’re in the Picture,” the infamous Jackie Gleason show in which he spent the second episode apologizing for the first one.

The critics rave:

“Fox trimmed the one-hour premiere of ‘Osbournes Reloaded’ down to 35 minutes, and given the thought and care that went into what finally aired, maybe next time they'll cut things off after the opening credits.” – Variety

“There was another great tradition in television. That tradition was of former big TV and/or music stars - the Brady Bunch, for instance - desperately cashing in on their last few fleeting seconds of renown with cornball variety shows that threatened to retroactively destroy every positive memory you had of them. ‘Osbournes: Reloaded’ proudly carries on that tradition.” – James Poniewozik, Time

“ ‘Osbournes: Reloaded,’ a revolting debacle that debuted last night on the feckless Fox network, could make history – as the first TV show ever to be recalled for fear of poisoning the atmosphere.” - Tom Shales, Washington Post

“The stink of this show will last a long time.” – Ken Tucker, Entertainment Weekly

So, for all those who hung on, what did you think? Was it as bad as “Temptation Island”?

- Todd Leopold, CNN.com Entertainment Producer

Well why didn't you change the channel if you didn't like it? Simple as that!! Ozzy is awesome no matter what he does.... And you probably think you can do better??? HELL NO!!!

I think all these better-then-tho viewers should have just changed the channel...the ratings showed that the OSBOURN'S had one of the highest volume of viewers for a new show...SO if it was so AWEFUL why didn't you turn the channel? Personally I thought it was Hysterical! But then again I truely enjoy Sharon and Ozzy and all that they stand for!

I didn't even know this show aired or even existed until someone posted something about it on myspace... I watched the whole episode and LOVED IT. it's so over the top, but it's entertainment. beats any other "reality tv" show.... like you know that "wedding" was fake as hell. I like how his family and friends just happened to all be there. come on... but still they pulled it off.

Hard to say this but the show was beneath Fox!

It was NOT funny and the worst part was the poor little kids that the producers forced to swear on National Television.

How tragic for those innocent children.

    How tragic for Fox.

How tragic for television in general that someone working in that industry would actually allow this garbage to go on air!

I want my 35 minutes back!!!!

I feel more stupid now that I have watched the show cruel & tasteless,.Sharon is the worst trying to be sweet to that poor girl waiting to see if her loser boyfriend would marry her. horrible show. They should stick to reality instead of crap like this, fire the writers if there were any and sick the hounds after them. I must go vomit now!!!!

I watched the first 10 minutes- and I could barely stand that!
First off, I don't enjoy watching people tongue each other..and that includes the young and old!
The first part where they picked strangers to make out with each other and then zoomed in on them tonguing each other, was so beyond gross I wanted to throw up. Still do. Then bringing the grandma out. Oh my gawd.
Them at the drive through was my last straw. It was just so unfunny.
It would of been more watchable if it was just Ozzy, but having the snobbish Kelly on there with her usual foul mouth was more than I could stand.
And that's another thing. Enough with the cursing! We know you are a family who thrives on it, but my god, can't you not do it for just a little while??? How many times did we see the finger being given bleeped out? I believe that if you can't find the class to stop your foul language while in public, then there's something wrong. Its like, enough already.

I am so tired of terrible tv shows and things that you can't sit down and watch as a family. Where are all of the great family sitcoms that were on such as The Cosby Show and Tool Time, etc. Shows that were clean yet still entertaining and you could watch them as a family. I'm on 35 and miss that the only things my children can watch on regular tv are game shows, TLC, Discovery and Disney and Nick TV.

"Okay, I know I’m the oddball here, but I really enjoyed the show! From beginning to end I was laughing and entertained! I love the Osbournes and their comedy. I can’t wait to see the next episode! )"

Me too. The only thing I didn't like was the cussing – and what's the point of cussing when it's gonna be bleeped and blocked anyway? It's like they think it's "cool" to cuss as much as they do, for entertainment , or shock value – but it's just annoying filler to me.

There were several funny parts. My favs were the fast food jobs and Ozzy's flashdance skit. The wedding thing was uncomfortable. For all those who hated it, what did you expect? I knew just by who was in it and the previews that it was going to be low brow, a little raunchy, and just silly. The best show? No, but it wasn't the worst either. At least it made me laugh which means that it wasn't a total waste of time.

I just sat through it on Hulu, and all I could think about was how vulgar the program was. I like Ozzy, I used to watch his weekly program. But I am terribly disappointed that they could bring him down to ever lower depths of crudity. Were they responsible for the content of the show, or was this thing scripted? Some of it had to be pre-planned as they went to great lengths to set up the 'audience member's' forced wedding. I found none of it funny at all, just kind of sad. I'm not surprised that their children have had to go into rehab. I put some of the blame on Sharon who I feel would do anything to make a buck. I don't see how this could be a series, and with the negative reception and necessary heavy editing, I don't see how it could be.

Nothing negative I can say that hasn't already been said; I was embarrassed to have looked forward to the show for several weeks preceding it. And what the hell was with that horrible Marilyn Manson ripoff of a theme song? It played every five seconds and retroactively made me hate "The Beautiful People" with a flaming passion. For the Osbournes to use something like that is like plagarizing your grandson; it was the rotten cherry on the crap cake.

"We aren't going to be showing "Osbornes: Reloaded" after a family friendly program like "American Idol." Instead we are bringing you this special presentation about teen drug use."

During their opening montage, we all saw a teenage girl shooting up heroin in the front seat of her car... thats EXACTLY what kids that just finished watching Idol needed to see. THANKS FOX MILWAUKEE, YOU MORONS!!!

Wherever I have given Sharon credit for resurrecting his career in the 80's – I take the credit away for her desire to create a campy memory of Ozzy.
For Ozzy to sit back and let her steer his career now is sad. She has turned into a "Look-at-me" whore and is determined to take him with her.

Well, wasn't that Sharon last year who went on the Dr. Phil show to try to find out what was wrong with her family and why her kids had turned out so badly....didn't Dr. Phil tell her they had no discipline and he would never have allowed them the potty mouths that they have....in so many words.....seems like old Sharon really DID NOT want to know what was wrong and STILL has extremly rude and crude kids. I LOVE OZZY....and on her own Sharon is a hoot....BUT.....if my kids had used the language those kids use...well, I could have single handedly kept the soap companies in business keeping their mouths washed out. I AM A CHRISTIAN....and somehow I do not see Jesus laughing at all of the filth coming out of their mouths. EVEN if you are not a Christian...but are a decent person of any faith.....God or Buddha or whomever it is you choose to have your faith in....I am sure does not condone such language. YOU CAN BE FUNNY without the F-word and all of its little friends.....remember Carol Burnett?? George and Gracie?? I know...the times have changed...but when did DECENCY change?? I don't speak that way and I get plenty of respect...YES, I do get angry from time to time...AND I HAVE my say.....but I can express myself without filthy language.....this only demeans you and shows a lack of education on your part....try looking up REAL words to express yourself with....PROFANITY has no place in civilized society....especially out of the mouths of babes. It is not "cute" , "funny" or "entertaining"....it is embarrasing and an insult to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. HE died to save you and this is how you repay HIM.....with filth. No wonder this world is in the shape it is in....a total lack of respect...and it is programming and minds like this who are perpetuating it. How much longer before enough is enough and the Lord says.."See YA"?? C'mon Ozzy and Sharon...show us that you REALLY DO HAVE TALENT.....don't rely on trash talk to make us laugh, most of us if given the chance are really more intelligent than that and can appreciate REALLY GOOD and WELL performed HUMOR. GIve us a chance to LOVE YOU for your talent not your obnoxious attempt at crude humor...it is so not becoming...Sharon, I know that inside, you ARE a lady.....SHOW US!! There are many things you have stood up for that I CHEER you for.....you are a strong person, lead your family into something that is truly entertaining and worth remembering.....this is not it.

Any show that casts Kelly Osbourne as a main character is doomed to fail. She is just another untalented, privileged fame rate who will stink up the atmosphere for decades to come because of daddy's money and pull. Think Paris Hilton...just less cute and cuddly.

If you saw the previews for the show and watched it anyway then you got what you deserved. I knew from what I saw on the 30 second spot that the show pushed far too many boundaries and would be offensive and an insult to the intellegence of anyone with active gray matter in their cranium.

Having been an Ozzy and Sabbath fan for most of my 34 years, I am greatly saddened that this is how Ozzy will be remembered. It puzzles me that despite her involvement in his musical career for so many years, Sharon is so shamelessly willing to trample on his legacy. Tony and Geezer are about to release a new album and prepare for a world tour while Ozzy is reduced to this. What a shame. Oh well, at least we still have Blizzard of Ozz...no wait...Sharon ruined that too....

I thought the "Flashdance" bit with Ozzy impersonating Jennifer Beals was absolutely hilarious (nice legs too!) , but the rest was not what I expected from The Osbournes. If they had done more skits instead of silly game show stuff, it would have been much better.

Ozzy- the Prince of Darkness has been and always will be a puppet of Sharon's. While physically able and even not able, Sharon demanded rigorous touring schedules from him and piled up the cash. Now that he's not able to bring in the bucks from touring, she's putting him out there for every scrap of change she can get. Ozzy himself has a great sense of humor and is a real funny guy (as seen in The Osbourne's) but this new show is so far beneath the ultimate Rock God. This is bordering on the crap that Gene Simmons puts out to make a buck. Let Ozzy squeeze out a few more great albums with limited appearances and then ride off into the darkness as the Master of Metal he really is!!!

Ozzy is a parody of himself and he knows it and that's what makes him funny now. 20 years ago, I just thought he was too weird for me. Sharon, on the other hand. hmm.... after she battled breast cancer and got the public's sympathy, she was on an awards show. The audience gave her a standing ovation to recognize her struggle, and she she responded (screamed into the microphone, actually) with a bleeped out: HELLO, YOU MOTHERF________S! The shock on the audience members' faces was evident. She is a pig.

It was trashy and tasteless. I LOVED it. Seriously. If you tuned into the show for high-brow laughs, you're the idiot. It was as crass as you'd think it would be, and I don't see a problem with that at all. It's not everyone's cup of tea all the time, but so be it: sometimes we like a bit of nasty diner food after eating healthy all day, and sometimes you want to see something mindless and low-brow. It met all expectations, and I mean that in the best way possible.

Ozzy and a firehose of white foam against everyone, the band, the bridge/groom, the audience, Sharon hit in the face at point blank...HILARIOUS !!!! More of that, less of the other crap (esp the wedding part) and maybe it will be worth a 1/2 hour show....

In Milwaukee, the local Fox affiliate ran a student help drug special instead. The news anchor said they were not going to air the Osbourne show after the family friendly American Idol and that the show would be seen at 1:00 am. It is the Ozzie's. What do you expect? Honestly speaking, the show may have bee two or three train wrecks all in one. It was excruciating to watch. If I had it my way, I would quietly "reload" the show and dump it into the trash.

That final scene when Ozzie was spraying whatever that white stuff was (I hope it was cake cream) to the audience and the "wedding guests" was the final stroke to my tolerance. I expect the show to be canceled at any moment now. If it comes back for a second week, someone at FOX need to have their head examined.

The Osbournes are really out of the ordinary and I don't think any viewers were expecting smart humour, on the contrary, the more stupid they act they funnier they are.

I admit it, I sat through the entire 35 minutes, fast forward through commercials so I could get done faster. The kids were cute in the movie theater skit, but once they revealed the audience member was being proposed to or left at the altar so to speak I knew it was over for them. They should of stuck with funny harmless pranks rather than trying to bring a "love reality" into the mix. Its too bad, I am a fan of the Osbournes, it makes your own life seem less dysfunctional when you watch them. I say pull now after the 1 show before anyone else has to sit through it.

It was, without a doubt, one of the worst shows I've ever seen, and I can only be happy that they cut down the running time to half an hour.

I have to admit my girlfriend and I started laughing hysterically at the end when Ozzie started spraying everyone with white foam, soaking his entire family, audience, wedding party, and staff. He was blasting some people in the face, it was in people's mouths, and it went on for so long (I was expecting 10 seconds and then a cut to credits, but it lasts at least a minute) that it just gets hysterical in how strange, stupid, and ridiculous it was.

It's incredible that this show was green lighted (and I say this as a fan of stupid TV).
