Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Kate Gosselin on 'Celebrity Apprentice'?

In today's "Showbiz Tonight" morning meeting, we all thought we were hallucinating after Executive Producer Dave Levine revealed that Donald Trump has reportedly cast Tiger Woods’s alleged mistress, Rachel Uchitel, on “The Celebrity Apprentice."

TMZ.com asked Uchitel if she would do the show and she reportedly said, “Absolutely.”

Oh, but wait, there’s more! I can't help but point out the other mind-blowing “Celebrity Apprentice” possibility: Controversial reality mom, Kate Gosselin, might actually be cast as well. Apparently, the mogul has already propositioned Gosselin.

Behind the Scenes on ‘Showbiz Tonight’: Levi and Bristol are headed to the chapel

The Palin family news today was so big, “Showbiz Tonight’s” Executive Producer Dave Levine dubbed it, “The Bristol Palin Bombshell."

And what a bombshell it is. Some of the producers at the “Showbiz Tonight” morning meeting nearly fell out of their chairs when they heard that Bristol and Levi Johnston have announced that they’re getting hitched.

The two broke the news in the latest issue of Us Weekly, which reveals that the couple hid their impending nuptials from Sarah Palin. “Showbiz Tonight’s” A.J. Hammer was a little skeptical this morning, theorizing that this news was probably no surprise to the former vice presidential candidate.

Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Defending Mel Gibson

Just when the “Showbiz Tonight” staff thought we'd heard all the tapes with the alleged voice of Mel Gibson absolutely tearing into the mother of his love child, Oksana Grigorieva, out pops a third.  CNN has not independently confirmed the authenticity of the recordings.

In the tapes we’ve heard so far, the breathless man purported to be Gibson screams with piercing rage and seems to threaten Grigrorieva saying, “I'll put you in the f*****g rose garden, you c***!” He also launches into a rant where he drops the n-word as well as statements degrading to women. Then in the third audio released today, the male voice uses the term “w******s” in an argument over an employee who takes care of a child.

If you were sitting in our morning meeting today, you’d be hard-pressed to find a staffer who would defend Gibson's  alleged actions and words in those tapes, but today, there are actually people who say Gibson's not entirely at fault (if it proves to be his voice).

Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Lindsay's outrageous tweets

Lindsay Lohan might have been sentenced to 90 days in jail, but she’s still free to tweet and, for two more weeks, party too.

Thankfully, she decided to skip her own party to celebrate her 24th birthday last night. But this morning at our meeting, we could not ignore her outrageous tweets! She quoted something from the U.N. Universal Declaration of Human rights, writing, “No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment," and then linked to an article entitled “Iranian Woman Faces Stoning for Adultery."

Clearly, the "Showbiz Tonight" staff was mystified by the timing and choice of her tweets, which lead us to wonder if she’s actually comparing her jail sentence to international human torture. What do you think they could mean?

Behind the Scenes at 'Showbiz Tonight': Does Lohan's punishment fit the crime?

The "Showbiz Tonight" staff was teeming with burning questions in the morning meeting today after Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to a total of 90 days in jail, but here's the big one: Does she deserve 90 days in jail for what she did?

Some are saying Lindsay was treated unfairly, but a few of us at “Showbiz Tonight” think the judge was completely fair.  As producer Sid Lipsey put it, “This wasn’t about [Lohan's] SCRAM bracelet or her substance abuse issues, this is about her blowing off classes, going off to Cannes and everything else!”

Her crying game didn’t help, either,  “Showbiz Tonight” Executive Producer David Levine pointed out, since she never took responsibility for her actions.

Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': D-day for Lindsay Lohan

It’s D-day for Lindsay Lohan who faced off with the judge in court today to find out if she should go to jail for possibly violating her probation. D-day for Lindsay means an early-rise for the Showbiz Tonight staff which came in early to broadcast coast-to-coast coverage of Lindsay’s courtroom showdown live at 11am on HLN!

Showbiz Tonight’s Brooke Anderson was right there outside the Beverly Hills courthouse to greet Lindsay and reported on some surprising changes in her behavior simply from her arrival to court!
