'Showbiz Tonight' Flashpoint: Is Britney Spears better than ever?

Britney Spears’ album "Femme Fatale" is out today, but some aren't that impressed. Critics are claiming that Britney hasn't fully recovered from her breakdown four years ago, and that her performances just aren't the same. But others say that’s nonsense – she’s doing just fine.

I think the singer is just getting her feet wet again, so the jury is still out. I think we need to give her a little time. I do wish Britney would do something a little different this time around to reflect where she is in her life. We know she can wear skimpy costumes and dance. But I want to see something different – maybe something more personal, more mature.

'Showbiz Tonight' Flashpoint: Charlie Sheen for president?

A brand new poll reveals the results of the most unthinkable presidential election ever! Some voters would pick Charlie Sheen over President Obama and Sarah Palin!

This made me laugh because no one in their right mind would seriously want Charlie Sheen running our country. I think people were making more of a partisan political statement against the candidate they just don’t like - versus truly believing Charlie would make a good president.

Other big stories we’re fired up about on the show today…

It turns out "American Idol" is TV’s biggest cash cow, and Gwyneth Paltrow is all set for a “Glee”-ful return!

See you on "Showbiz Tonight" live at 5 p.m. ET and again at 11 p.m. ET/PT on HLN today!

'Showbiz Tonight' Flashpoint: Are Sheen's friends and fans turning on him?

We've got more shocking Charlie Sheen news today! Police showed up at Charlie Sheen’s home late Thursday night to search for weapons.

And listen to this: It’s “National Unfollow Charlie Sheen Day” on Twitter. Have Charlie’s fans had enough?

I think I have. Charlie’s a complete disaster, and it is really sad. And it’s not just a day of digital Sheen dissing – some of the biggest names in Hollywood are outraged and speaking out.

'Showbiz Tonight' Flashpoint: LiLo doesn't accept plea deal...yet

Lindsay Lohan was back in court this morning – but she didn’t take a deal in her necklace theft case.

I think her best bet would have been to plea, do some time in jail and put this behind her. She still has some time to reconsider – but if she doesn’t, Lindsay’s really rolling the dice with a possible trial. If she’s convicted of stealing the necklace, she could get up to three years in prison!

'Showbiz Tonight' Flashpoint: Is Sheen playing us?

Charlie Sheen’s jaw-dropping webcasts and machete-wielding antics have been disturbing. He’s making remarkable new attacks against his “Two and a Half Men” co-stars. Even Charlie himself today is reportedly admitting that he’s losing his mind! And that’s got a lot of people asking: Is Charlie losing it? Or is he just playing us?

I do not believe, for one second, that Charlie's putting us on.

Why would he show up on set late last year having lost 20 pounds? Why would he have trashed that New York hotel room in October? Nobody in his right mind would act like this on purpose. Charlie’s lost custody of his twin boys, and he’s lost his very lucrative job. Something is seriously wrong, and I’m worried Charlie’s going to do something drastic. What do you think?

'Showbiz Tonight' Flashpoint: Who should replace Sheen on 'Men'?

Let's say you could decide who should replace Charlie Sheen on "Two and a Half Men" - would you pick John Stamos, Robert Downey, Jr. or would you simply cancel the show?

Personally, I think John Stamos would be EXCELLENT! Here’s another one – how about Rob Lowe?

The fact of the matter is, no one is irreplaceable and the faster Charlie realizes that, the better. He has such a high opinion of himself he doesn’t seem to be able to separate fact from fiction. What do you think? Post your comments below.
