Gotye on music, fame and those comparisons to Sting

If you’ve heard Gotye’s immensely popular hit, “Somebody That I Used to Know,” you probably recognize the line, “But you treat me like a stranger and that feels so rough.”

But with YouTube views approaching 200 million, the Aussie-Belgian singer can’t possibly feel like an unknown.

And things couldn’t have felt so rough when he took the stage with guest vocalist Kimbra on “Saturday Night Live” on April 14.

Sting's career? There's an app for that

Remember the good old days when we used to pore over the liner notes of a new CD, hoping to get a peek inside the mind of the artist? (No doubt some of you Gen Y-ers are probably thinking, “Huh? Liner notes?”)

Well, Sting hopes to bring back some of the connection between musician and listener that may have been lost in the digital music age with a new product - an “appumentary.”

A free iPad app was released Tuesday that takes users on a comprehensive tour of Sting’s career. Called STING 25, it’s like “taking a deep dive into the archeology of Sting,” says Evan Schechtman from @radical.media, which produced the app.

Upon turning 60, Sting still feels like a teen

If anyone knows how to throw a party, it’s Sting. And the musician has good reason to pull out all the stops for his upcoming birthday – he’s turning 60.

(We know what you're thinking, because we thought it too: "Wha…?! Sting is 60? How did this happen?!")

“I don't feel 60,” Sting tells CNN. “I feel like I'm 14-and-a-half in many respects.”
