Simon Cowell now has another seat to fill on "The X Factor" as Britney Spears has officially quit the show.
In a statement, the 31-year-old singer confirms the widespread reports that she's leaving the Fox singing competition after judging for one season. Her exit follows judge L.A. Reid's departure late last year.
Jazz pianist Dave Brubeck, 91, died Wednesday from heart failure, his manager, Russell Gloyd, told CNN.
Brubeck's heart stopped while he was en route to the hospital with his eldest son for a regular checkup, Gloyd said. His son became alarmed about his father and called 911, Gloyd said.
While Jennifer Lopez's future with "American Idol" appears to still be up in the air, Fox is said to be considering other famous names for the judging panel.
E! News reports that Fox is eyeing "Idol" alum Adam Lambert as a potential new judge on the reality singing competition, which just completed its 11th season.
Warmer temperatures drew more crowds as the skies cleared for the second day of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
The heat was at its peak late Saturday afternoon as rockers Grace Potter and the Nocturnals performed on the Outdoor Stage. While Potter and her band have graced the stage at other music festivals, Potter told CNN about her first experience at Coachella.
"It's not like any other festivals we've done before because it's so focused on really the diversity of music being almost like, I'm trying to think of a word beyond schizophrenic... Coachella is beyond eclectic," she said.
