The CNN team got an early start at the Sundance Film Festival on Friday with set up and the first live interview with David Oyelowo, one of the stars of “Red Tails."
Before he was interviewed by Kyra Phillips, the actor talked about the time he spent in Alabama screening the movie as well as how honored he was to be able to meet some of the actual men who flew the jets in World War II.
Later in the morning, Blythe Danner and Melanie Lynskey stopped by to tape an interview about their movie which opened the festival, “Hello I Must Be Going.” Danner plays the mother to Lynskey’s character and the pair discussed the dynamic of playing those roles and how much fun they had working together. Day one of Sundance is normally “set up” day.
And this year is true to form, as all of the various venues in Park City, Utah, are finalizing their looks for the next week of movies, concerts and dinners.
The famed Egyptian Theater, which hosts many of the film premiers during the festival, was home to the opening press conference on Thursday, where Robert Redford, the founder of the Sundance Film Festival, addressed this year’s crop of documentaries and films.
Malan Breton is one of "Project Runway's" most popular cast members - even after being ousted in the second episode of season 3 - and his show made a triumphant bow at New York Fashion Week.
With a full orchestra accompanying the models gracing the runway, his show not only featured designs for both men and women, but also a very cute black poodle, much to the crowd's delight.
Seated in the front row was a bevy of reality television's best, from Nole Marin - the former judge on "America's Next Top Model" as well as current fashion editor at Runway Magazine - to Denise Richards.
How does a guy with a distinct rock background get signed to one of the biggest hip-hop labels in the game today, and end up writing and producing a song for a teen queen?
Well, if you are musician/producer/writer Kevin Rudolf, it's just a normal day in the office.
"You Make the Rain Fall," his latest single featuring Flo Rida, was just released this week off his sophomore album, "To The Sky." Rudolf is also riding high as a producer, having a song currently in the top 20 on iTunes with Disney star Selena Gomez.
6:15 p.m.: Sitting in the Film Lounge listening to Kelis' sound check. If the party at midnight is anything close to her sound check, this is going to be a good night.
6:35 p.m.: Josh Radner just walked in the door at the Supper Club. He's in the movie, "HappyThankyouMorePlease".
7 p.m.: Malin Ackerman is milling around the Supper Club, waiting to get seated for Chef Philippe Chow's special masterpiece of a dinner.
7:30 p.m.: The cast of "HappyThankyouMorePlease" just sat down for dinner at the Supper Club. I just chowed down on some beef and chicken skewers with the most amazing Hollandaise sauce. I have determined that Chef Philippe is the man.
9 p.m.: Bill Gates just walked in. He's doing an interview with us about "Waiting for Superman," which he is featured in. He is talking about the Gates Foundation and education right now.
