Max von Sydow speaks out on Oscar nomination

In his film, Max von Sydow plays a man who does not speak.

But on Tuesday, the actor had plenty to say about his nomination for best supporting actor in "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close."

“A lot of people told me I would probably be nominated, but you can never be certain," he told CNN. "And, it’s so wonderful, really. I’m thrilled! And, I’m also moved. After all, it’s my colleagues at the academy that give this honor." FULL POST

Adrian Grenier has to console 'Entourage' fans

Since HBO's "Entourage" ended, actor Adrian Grenier says he has "changed from being Vinny Chase the celebrity to Adrian the therapist," offering a shoulder for fans over the demise of the series.

"I have to console so many people on the street," he told CNN. "I mean grown men practically in tears now wondering what they're going to do now on Sunday nights. So it's a lot of huggin' it out."

The actor has plenty of time on his hands now for projects like the site SHFT.com, which he co-founded. The website encourages people to live sustainable lives, offering a holistic view of sustainability, with everything from architecture to travel.

Viola Davis: Adoption has given me purpose

Oscar nominee, star of "The Help" and new mom Viola Davis spoke to CNN about the joys of motherhood at the 15th Annual Hollywood Film Awards Monday.

Davis and her husband Julius Tennon welcomed a baby girl earlier this month via domestic adoption. Davis' rep confirmed that they named their new arrival Genesis.

They didn't bring their bundle of joy home until this month, but the couple announced their adoption news in August.

Kevin Smith: I'll 'always owe' Tiger Woods

Director/actor Kevin Smith tells CNN he’s eternally grateful to golf star Tiger Woods for deflecting media attention away from him when he was “too fat to fly.”

Last year, the “Red State” director was kicked off a Southwest Air flight because he wasn’t able to comfortably fit in his seat. Smith had originally purchased two tickets for the Oakland-to-Burbank trip, but when he was bumped to an earlier flight, only one seat was available. After being seated, he was asked to leave.

In a statement, Southwest explained that Smith’s removal was for the "safety and comfort of all customers."

Alex Trebek injured while chasing burglar

Answer: The 71-year-old star of "Jeopardy" who was forced to host the National Geographic World Championship on crutches Wednesday after he was injured chasing a burglar.

Who is Alex Trebek?

The incident took place at a San Francisco hotel at 2:30 a.m. the night before. According to a police report, a female burglar entered Trebek's room and stole cash and other valuables, including a bracelet. The popular TV host woke up and began to chase the suspect down the hallway when his Achilles tendon suddenly snapped causing him to fall and injure his other leg. FULL POST

Madonna comic book coming in August

Madonna has been a fixture in nearly every genre of entertainment for almost four decades, and now fans of the material girl will be able to buy a comic book dedicated entirely to the star.

"Female Force: Madonna" will be released in August 2011. Written by CW Cooke and drawn by Michael Johnson, the 32-page biographical comic book will focus on the pop singer's humble beginnings and the series of life-changing events that ultimately led to her becoming one of the most iconic performers in history.

As part of the "Female Force" series, the quick read joins previous publications dedicated to other well-known women including Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, JK Rowling, Ellen DeGeneres and Sarah Palin.

"Female Force: Madonna" will sell at comic book stores and online retailers for $3.99.
