Gabrielle Union on indie films, new BET showGabrielle Union would love to get more roles like the one she's promoting at SXSW. The actress joined director Brian Savelson at the Austin-based festival in hopes of snagging a distributor for their film, “In Our Nature,” and she talked to CNN about her pride in the work she did on the indie. In it, Union plays Vicky, the younger girlfriend of “Mad Men” star John Slattery’s character Gil. The dramedy centers on what happens when the couple's thrown together with Gil’s son and his girlfriend (played by Zach Gilford and Jena Malone) when a scheduling snafu has them all showing up at a vacation home. Seth MacFarlane offers glimpse of 'Ted' at SXSWThe crowd at SXSW was treated to two surprises from "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane on Sunday: a sneek peek of the beginning of his anticipated film "Ted" and a special guest. There was a full house for "A Conversation with Seth MacFarlane" where the animator and actor spoke on everything from the near-demise of "Family Guy" to his jazz album and his new film "Ted," a live-action/CGI movie starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis. Looking back on it now, Fox yanking "Family Guy" not long after it debuted turned out to be a blessing in disguise. In fact, MacFarlane said "the cancellation was the best thing that happened to the show." But this year one of the most sought after performances is an act that's already pretty well known: Jay-Z. Fresh off of his new daddy duties, the rapper has teamed up with American Express for a concert at the massive interactive/film/music event held annually in Austin, Texas. Tickets were made available to card holding attendees of the festival who sync their Amex cards with their Twitter accounts.
