Gabrielle Union would love to get more roles like the one she's promoting at SXSW.
The actress joined director Brian Savelson at the Austin-based festival in hopes of snagging a distributor for their film, “In Our Nature,” and she talked to CNN about her pride in the work she did on the indie.
In it, Union plays Vicky, the younger girlfriend of “Mad Men” star John Slattery’s character Gil. The dramedy centers on what happens when the couple's thrown together with Gil’s son and his girlfriend (played by Zach Gilford and Jena Malone) when a scheduling snafu has them all showing up at a vacation home.

The crowd at SXSW was treated to two surprises from "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane on Sunday: a sneek peek of the beginning of his anticipated film "Ted" and a special guest.
There was a full house for "A Conversation with Seth MacFarlane" where the animator and actor spoke on everything from the near-demise of "Family Guy" to his jazz album and his new film "Ted," a live-action/CGI movie starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis.
Looking back on it now, Fox yanking "Family Guy" not long after it debuted turned out to be a blessing in disguise. In fact, MacFarlane said "the cancellation was the best thing that happened to the show." FULL POST

To that end, he and director Drew Goddard are pretty circumspect about what they want to say about their new movie, "The Cabin in the Woods."

Fans of '80s R&B music have suffered yet another loss.
Just months after the deaths of '80s R&B chanteuse Vesta Williams, rapper Heavy D and singer/songwriter Nick Ashford, who was one half of the duo Ashford and Simpson, fans are once again grappling with the silenced voice of one of the superstars of that era: Whitney Houston.
The New Jersey native and daughter of famed background singer Cissy Houston first burst onto the music scene in 1985 with her debut album "Whitney Houston."
