Ricky Gervais' David Brent is getting his own movie

Three seasons and fourteen episodes just isn't enough to contain a personality like David Brent's from "The Office."

Kaley Cuoco talks marriage, 'Big Bang Theory' season 8

Don't mistake Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting holding up production on "The Big Bang Theory" as a desire to be off the show.

To the contrary, the 28-year-old actress tells Women's Health magazine in its September issue that she'd be just fine playing a "girl-next-door" like "BBT's" Penny for as long as possible. (At least, as long as she's getting good pay - or so it would seem.)

Katy Perry could be your babysitter, and more news to note

Today's talk you might've missed:

  • Katy Perry's music is apparently really popular with the carseat-set, and even has the power to make a baby stop crying. Give the singer $10 bucks an hour and four Oreos and she might solve your problems, too.
  • Meanwhile, in our own car, it's Chris Pratt flawlessly rapping Eminem that'll get us to stop crying.
  • Either that, or these "True Detective" casting rumors. Vince Vaughn and Elisabeth Moss for season 2? Stop getting our hopes up, Internet! [Variety/The Wrap]
  • We hope everything's OK over there, Kristin Chenoweth! Feel better soon. [Kristin Chenoweth's Twitter]
  • Breaking: Lucy Hale's "Fifty Shades of Grey" audition was "very, very sexual." [Cosmo]
  • There isn't enough love in the world for Jeff Goldblum's "Jurassic Park"-themed wedding photo. [Extra]
  • So, Joe Jonas is single now. [Us Weekly]

Today's talk you might've missed:

  • "Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn has written a long, heartfelt thank you note to his cast, crew and everyone who went out to see the movie this weekend. "The 'Guardians' are a group of oddballs, outcasts, and geeks. The movie is for anyone who ever felt cast aside, left out, or different. It's for all of us who don't belong. This movie belongs to you. And, today, I think we're doing okay," Gunn begins. [James Gunn's Facebook]
  • Here is what happened when Taylor Swift visited a six-year-old leukemia patient in the hospital. Don't mind that sound you hear; it's just us choking back sobs.
  • We predict you're going to be watching Nickelodeon in the near future: the network has lined up a "School of Rock" series. [THR]
  • Malia Obama rocked out at Lollapalooza in Chicago over the weekend ... with Secret Service in full force, of course. [The Washington Post]
  • Can anyone take this cute? Because we can't. We heart it so much we're now hoping this photo is from a recording session for an album called "Yeezus Lullabies."
  • You know how you keep hearing about allllll the guys Nina Dobrev is dating? Well, there's more than you thought: [Nina Dobrev's WhoSay]
  • Best movie review ever. Also: Justin Bieber in a prison-orange jumpsuit. [NYMag's Vulture]
  • The only "Don't" we have when it comes to Ed Sheeran's new music video is "Don't" try these dance moves at home:

Adrienne Bailon snaps back at Kim K., and more news to note

Today's talk you might've missed:

  • So when are Adrienne Bailon and Kim Kardashian going to meet up in a bar in Ibiza to settle this fight? After Kim K. took issue with Adrienne Bailon saying her past romance with Kim's younger brother Rob had a negative impact on her brand, Bailon has responded to Mrs. Kardashian-West. [Adrienne Bailon's Instagram]
  • OK the bad news: Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult have broken up. The good news? Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult are back on the market! [MTV]
  • In other news, Zichelle - or is it Mifron? - are still going strong. (We're talking about Zac Efron and Michelle Rodriguez, obvs.) [TMZ]
  • NBC is going a wee bit overboard with the live musicals. In addition to "Peter Pan Live!" with Allison Williams, there's also a "Today" show musical co-written by Kathie Lee Gifford. It'll be 18 minutes long, called "Not Today and Tomorrow's Not Looking Good Either," and will air before the end of the year. [THR]
  • Here's what happens when Julia Roberts and Jimmy Fallon throw balls at each other's faces:
  • Chris Messina, you're breaking our hearts, cheating on Dianna Agron like this! (Yes, we know this is just for a music video, but it's Sam Smith singing and that gets us all emotional.)

No one, not even Franco, can make Colbert break character

On "The Colbert Report," wily James Franco tried to catch Colbert out of character.

Of course, he failed, but that didn't make his attempt any less admirable.
