MTV Movie Awards Rewind: See the sneak peeks

One of the best reasons to watch the MTV Movie Awards - except to see Zac Efron's abs - is to check out the exclusive clips of upcoming movies.

The network has a knack for locking down both the talent and select clips from some of the year's hottest properties, which this time around include "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

The MTV Movie Awards' Paul Walker tribute, and more news to note

Today's talk you might've missed:

  • "Fast & Furious" star Paul Walker was "so important to the MTV audience" that the network is going to feature a tribute to the actor at its Movie Awards on Sunday. "People haven't had the chance to really celebrate him, and this is the place to do it," says the show's executive producer Jesse Ignjatovic. [MTV]
  • We hope Drake isn't off crying somewhere right now. The response he received from the public while he was in disguise on "Kimmel" Thursday was fairly brutal. (But on the other hand, we know an emotional Drake also makes the best music, so, tossup.)
  • But let's turn our thoughts to another rapper, one by the name of French Montana. Khloe Kardashian has been spending so much time with him lately the rest of us are wondering if they're a newly minted item. [People]
  • The first post-breakup appearance is taken very seriously by celebrities and non-celebrities alike. (Do you really want your recent ex seeing you in disheveled sweatpants carrying enough takeout for 12? Didn't think so.) And in the case of Chris Martin's split from Gwyneth Paltrow, he's pulled off the PBA flawlessly. At the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Martin didn't have a ring but was wearing one very big smile. [Us Weekly]
  • Ellen DeGeneres may not have a taste for late night TV, but we do hope she would consider a co-host. We could watch her chop it up with Johnny Depp about his Barbies habit daily:

'Draft Day' vs. 'Rio 2': What to see this weekend

If you're trying to decide between "Rio 2" and "Draft Day" this weekend, stick with the football.

According to critics, Kevin Costner's new heart-warming sports flick isn't a bad way to spend a few hours - or, at the very least, it's slightly better than revisiting the talking birds in 2011's "Rio."

A 'Simpsons' mega-marathon, and more news to note

Today's talk you might've missed:

  • You'll need to seriously stock up on doughnuts for this TV marathon. FXX is planning to air every "Simpsons" episode in existence - and there's 552 of them - continuously for 12 days this summer. [Variety]
  • In honor of his 88th birthday on April 9, Hugh Hefner wrote a letter to his younger self. It turns out the Hef we know today is all thanks to one young woman who broke his heart as a teenager. [CBS]
  • Jennifer Lawrence is so awesome at what she might sway "X-Men" producers to give her character Mystique its own spinoff film. [EW]
  • If Stephen Colbert totally rules over Jimmy Fallon at 11:30, at least Fallon could have a great backup career as a musical impressionist. His Tom Petty impersonation, with Stevie Nicks at his side, is a must-see:
  • Speaking of David Letterman, we'll miss the days he prank calls Oprah Winfrey with Lindsay Lohan:
  • Disney has released its first look at "Girl Meets World," and we're still working through our feelings about it. Thoughts?
