With no shortage of TV series left on the brink of cancellation this year, we asked iReporters last month which "on the bubble" shows they wanted to see saved.

And, just like with “Chuck” in 2009, one show emerged above the rest.

“Nikita,” the action-adventure series that just finished its second season on the CW this past Friday, was far and away the most popular “bubble” series on iReport.

“‘Nikita’ is one of the most underrated TV shows on air,” said Sandi Leung of Toronto, Ontario.

“It's one of the rare shows that is filled with action-packed scenes, comedy, romance and so much more. It incorporates so many different elements, which makes it a perfectly balanced show.”

Leung is such a fan that she has actually met several cast members, including Maggie Q and Lyndsy Fonseca, at home in Toronto (where the show is produced).

“It has so much more to give, and only giving the show two seasons wouldn't be enough,” she posted to iReport.

The great news for fans like Leung is that “Nikita” will continue to give: A third season, thanks in part to these fans’ efforts on social media, was picked up by the CW on Friday.

As "controversial" as Howard Stern's new "America's Got Talent" job was supposed to be, he couldn't scare up ratings.
We're betting Ellen DeGeneres is doing a little jig at the moment: The comedian/talk show host has been tapped to receive this year's Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. [WaPo]

Ellen DeGeneres also probably just made a ton of money, as it's been reported that Ryan Seacrest snagged her home for a mind-boggling $49 million. (As always kids, wield your grains of salt wisely.) [TMZ]

Sacha Baron Cohen's new role as a fictional Middle Eastern tyrant in his movie "The Dictator" is causing plenty of controversy.

Commentators like Dean Obeidallah have criticized the actor, who is not of Middle Eastern descent, for portraying an Arab man, especially since the character is intended to reflect stereotypes.

Actor and comedian Aasif Mandvi of "The Daily Show" talked to CNN's Susanne Malveaux about what he sees as Hollywood's "whitewashing," or casting white actors in ethnic roles. In the video above, Mandvi gives his take on why he thinks "whitewashing" persists, even in an ever-growing multicultural society.

What do you think? Is Mandvi right? Leave your comments below.

Kim Kardashian still hasn't confirmed the persistent rumor that she and Kanye West are an item - but she hasn’t really denied it, either.

So does that mean we should expect to see Mr. West on her family's E! reality show?

The 31-year-old tells E! Online that fans will just have to wait and see when the seventh season of the hit show debuts this Sunday.

“I want to show my life,” Kardashian assured E’s Marc Malkin when asked whether she’ll keep it real for the cameras, including letting fans in on her love life.

“If we are having dinner and he does show up, I’m sure we’re not going to go, ‘Stop the cameras!’” says the soon-to-be divorcee. “At the same time, I’m not going to be taking a bubble bath and drinking champagne or on a sex swing like Khloe and Lamar do."

Well, one up-close-and-personal place West has already reportedly popped up was at Kim’s sister Kourtney’s baby shower over the weekend.

According to E!, he was joined by Khloe’s husband Lamar Odom - though Kourtney's man Scott Disick was absent (apparently hosting an event in Atlantic City) - at the “Hamptons”-themed fete Kris and Bruce Jenner reportedly threw for her at their home on Saturday.

It was a big affair: 100 guests are said to have shown up to toast the 33-year-old second-time mom.

Her daughter is due in July.

In a move that he admits could cost him some fans, New York rapper Yitz “Y-Love” Jordan, considered "the first black Jewish MC," has come out publicly as a gay man of color.

"I feel like I have wasted years of my life worrying that my ‘public reputation’ will be negatively impacted by my identity," Jordan said in a statement. "Now that I'm over 30, I simply can't care as much about what people think, despite the prospect of alienating the community I dedicated my life to as an artist and a man. My hope is it will open their eyes – and hearts."

Although he's now publicly talking about it, Jordan tells Out magazine in an interview that he's "never been conflicted about my sexuality ... Any conflicts that have come up in my life have come up because of other people's homophobia. I've always known when to be in the closet and when not to."

Jordan is of Puerto Rican and Ethiopian descent, and converted to Hasidic Judaism in 2000 before going on to study at Jerusalem’s Ohr Somayach yeshiva.

The artist has melded hip-hop style with what he calls "Jewish values," leading to a fan base of "conservative-minded hip-hop fans," he said.

Those same fans "have listened to me to be their ‘voice of Jewish values’ for so long that I'm sure some will huff off in disgust at seeing the real me," Jordan admitted. "What will not change is my art. My rhymes will still be 20 percent Hebrew and full of Jewish quotes as always. I also fully expect that these people who no longer find me 'appropriate' will be replaced by fans who can truly appreciate the real me - with a particular emphasis on LGBT hip-hop fans, who I think will be able to identify with my struggle and triumph and have few out artists and role models.”

He hopes his new album, "Focus on the Flair," will offer those LGBT fans of hip-hop a new voice, as Jordan's "ready to live authentically."

"I'm ready to find a husband," Jordan continued. "I'm ready to live without fear of being outed or the stress of keeping my whole self from people. And I've waited too long to do that.”

Even if you haven't heard of Hot Chelle Rae, you've probably heard one of their songs.

The Nashville-based pop/rock band is behind singles like "Tonight Tonight" and "I Like it Like That," which climbed the Billboard Hot 100 and proved to be earworms to boot.

But on tour, this breakout group brings fans much more than the standard hit songs one might expect. CNN caught up with Hot Chelle Rae’s frontman Ryan Follese, guitarist Nash Overstreet [brother to "Glee" star Chord Overstreet], bassist Ian Keaggy and drummer Jamie Follese at the end of their first headlining tour to recount their first two years as a band on a major label.

CNN: You guys recently won an American Music award, have performed on a sold-out tour and have traveled the world in the process. What's to come?

Ryan Follese: We’ve been having the craziest, busiest year of our lives and it’s been awesome. And we’re on the last stop of our "Beautiful Freaks" tour. As far as what’s to come, a very, very short break and we’re going to be going out and doing some dates with Demi Lovato. We’re heading to Japan in June, possibly Germany, [and we're] going to be going back to Australia in [the] fall, which is their spring. And we’re doing a lot of radio shows over the summer.

Jamie Follese: And a lot more countries which cannot be announced yet. We’re going to be all over the world this year.

CNN: When you guys were starting out, did you obtain a new fan base based on the variety of people you were performing with?

Ian Keaggy: We toured with so many different bands before we could be a band that could finally go and perform their own tour. We’ve been together for almost seven years now, and it was forever. ... It was always opening for other bands ... You know, we were always having to fight to win fans over. But the good thing is that we laid the groundwork and foundation for what we have now.

RF: And we’ve opened for everybody. We’re talking about starting out opening for Third Eye Blind and we’ve done dates with Big Time Rush.

JF: And Lil’ Jon.

RF: I think it’s also given us this comfortability and courage on stage because we’ve played in front of every type of crowd.

CNN: I was just comparing your first album to the second album, and it's a huge difference. What was your progression like between the first and second album?

RF: The first album [was] a learning experience ... the first thing that we did when we had a record deal. We were desperately trying to find [an] identity instead of letting your identity find you. ... We wrote so many serious songs and got really intense about the musicality of things and realized it was more fun just to simplify things. And the result has been obvious.

Nash Overstreet: We’ve just begun to become comfortable. [We] lived a lot more after touring on the first album and had so many experiences and so many relationships to really inspire songs. So now we can really write about life and what we really know. It’s always best to do what you know.

CNN: I know you guys played “honky-tonk” bars in Nashville when you were getting started. How has it changed? What did you guys play then versus now?

RF: It depends on the time honestly. We were playing some of the stuff off “Lovesick Electric,” our first record, and some stuff that never saw the light of day. We played this one bar in Nashville called Springwater and it was the first place to ever have a liquor license. We played for our manager, a couple of friends, and a guy with a pit bull on a chain.

IK: The only reason why our friends came was because we were doing a photo shoot and the guy had been taking pictures of us, so they just stayed around. No one would have come otherwise.

CNN: You’ve done all kinds of collaboration with different artists, from Demi to New Boyz. What’s to come for some of the collaborations you have in the works?

RF: Collaborations, we like them to happen fairly naturally. Or find out that you’re mutual fans of each other. But the way music is these days, we’re pretty much open to anything. Just anything works. Taylor Swift just did a song with B.O.B. and it works mutually. I don’t know if anyone remembers Tim McGraw and Nelly. But if we turn around and Nicki Minaj wants to do a song with us, we wouldn’t turn that down at all.

CNN: How did the thing with Demi Lovato come together?

RF: That was a mutual fan situation. We were searching for someone who was really truly a singer. In pop, that can be difficult to do. And we found out she was a fan of our music, and it just happened very naturally.

NO: When you’re looking for someone to sing their a** off, there’s not too many people who you can really go to. And when we brought up her name, a friend of ours was like you couldn’t have picked a better person. And her voice fits it great, the voices fit well together. So it’ll be cool to tour with her this summer.

CNN: How did you come up with the name Hot Chelle Rae?

NO: I was on MySpace one day just being stupid and met this really, really attractive blonde. And she became friends with me, and she was really into chatting us all up. She kept infiltrating, meeting everyone we knew, only online. One day, a friend of ours - and Jamie chimed in saying he had the suspicion the whole time - asked, "Do you think she’s real?" And it never crossed my mind. I guess if you’re good-looking [enough], I will ignore the possibility that you may be 55.

JF: It’s so funny, because if you think about an unbelievably hot girl just sitting there at her computer all day long, just sitting on MySpace, it would never happen.

RF: Long story short, one of her many handles she had online was Chelle Rae. Once we found out she wasn’t real, we called her out and when she disappeared, we decided we liked it so much, we wanted to name the band after her.

CNN: Can we expect you guys on "Glee" soon?

RF: We would love it.

NO: We’d absolutely love it, to either be performing as a band, or our band. I feel like it’s a thing that you don’t want to ask for, you want them to ask you. If they came to us, we’d absolutely love it. We’re not one of those bands that’s like, "'Glee' ruined our song." The show’s awesome, it’s funny. The exposure it gets for songs or their remakes of songs, it’s really cool.

After flashbacks, flash-forwards and pointless (yet hilarious) tales of friendship, “How I Met Your Mother” managed to tie up its seventh season in a pretty little bow.

Like, the kind of bow you might see on, say, a wedding gown…

(This is the part where you stop reading if you don’t want to know what happened last night on the CBS sitcom’s highly anticipated, one-hour season finale.)

“The Magician’s Code” begins in Atlantic City, as an inebriated Marshall and Barney try to find a way back to NYC to witness the birth of Marshall and Lily’s baby boy.

Barney attempts to steal a motorcycle while Marshall stumbles up two stairs and watches Animal Planet on an ATM. (Like you’ve never been drunk before.)

In NYC, Lily can’t go to the hospital until her contractions are four minutes apart, so she asks Ted and Robin to tell stories and distract her in the meantime.

From the tale of the cursed pants to that time they decided to dress as the “Breakfast Club” for Halloween but forgot to coordinate their outfits (they all showed up as Judd Nelson), the short stories were hilarious.

My personal favorite: “Where does that door go?” It’s funny because the door leads to a closet that Ted, Barney, Robin and Lily hide in before scaring the crap out of a curious Marshall. (Maybe you had to be there.)

And then there’s Ted’s thoughtful baby announcement. I could summarize the hilarity, but I wouldn’t do it justice. Might as well just click here and see it for yourself. (I love when they do things like that!)

Back in Atlantic City, Barney and Marshall eventually hop on a bus of <del>college</del> seniors headed for Buffalo. Marshall gets to the hospital just in time to see his son being born. And Baby Marvin, named after Marshall’s late father, has “the coolest middle name of all time,” according to the gang. It’s Wait for it … No, really, that’s it. It was Barney’s idea.

Marvin Waitforit Erickson also helped mend Robin and Ted’s friendship, which has been on the rocks since he declared his love for her … again. At the hospital, Robin rips into Ted, the way only a true friend would, and tells him he dates the wrong women. She urges him to call Victoria, the only appropriate woman he’s ever dated.

Victoria eventually shows up to the bar wearing a wedding gown. She’s supposed to be getting married later that day. But, as someone who has been left at the altar, Ted doesn’t take kindly to a runaway bride. He attempts to take her back to the church, but they end up driving off into the sunset together.

We know Victoria isn’t the mother of Ted’s children. (He meets his future wife at Barney’s wedding.) But I’m not mad at the writers for bringing her back. Maybe Ted needs closure before he (and we) can meet “the one.”

Meanwhile, Barney is thankful to still have Quinn in his life. They head off for Hawaii, but TSA has other plans. Barney gets stopped at security for having an unidentified box in his luggage. However, he can’t reveal what’s in the box because of “Magician’s Code.” Long story short: Barney magically opens the locked box to reveal (another box, a pot, a blooming flower) an engagement ring. Quinn says yes.

A little ways down the road … at Barney’s wedding … it’s Robin who’s dressed in white. That’s right, Barney and Robin are getting married. Chills.

What did you think of “How I Met Your Mother’s” season finale? Are you pleased to see Barney and Robin together again? What do you think of Ted’s decision to ride off into the sunset with Victoria? And how cute is Baby Erickson?!

Season 8 of "The Bachelorette" premiered Monday with the promise of something different.

Emily Maynard, who thought she found true love with "Bachelor" Brad Womack last year but didn't, is ready to find a husband as well as a father figure for her young daughter. She's also ready to put on her "big girl panties," marking the first time in show history that phrase has been used.

On Monday, newly single Chris Harrison welcomed us to Charlotte, where the show's starting its journey. Before talking to Emily, Chris introduced us to some of the 25 men trying to win her heart:

There was Kalon, a "luxury brand consultant" and quasi-nerd who has a helicopter. He used to be obnoxious, but now wants to be responsible. (I thought the first rule of the show was that you had to be obnoxious?)

Tony from Oregon is a divorced dad who's obsessed with fitness, as well as buying and selling lumber. He's also fascinated with the fact that he has two thumbs. I wish I made that up, but I didn't.

Lerone is a real estate consultant from Los Angeles who may be the show's response to those who think the franchise isn't diverse enough. Not a surprise that ABC opted to spotlight this season's lone African-American contestant given the criticism.

We also met Jef with one "f", who's an entrepreneur from Utah. Given the history of Utah-based contestants on this show (Michelle Money and Bentley Williams, anyone?), I have to put a red flag on this guy.

We're also introduced to Arie Luyendyk Jr., whose dad is a two-time Indy 500 winner. The son also raced at Indy, finishing 28th in 2006. We know that Emily has NASCAR blood in her system, so can she connect with open-wheel Arie?

Alas, none of them was Chris Harrison, nor did we see any divine figures that the woman in the above video claimed to see when she recorded one "Bachelor" episode.

Back at the mansion for Chris' pre-show chat with Emily, it's said that "this could be the night" that she'll meet her husband. Given the franchise's track record, I have my doubts that Emily's prediction will come true. Emily also told Chris that she wants a "minivan full of babies" in five years. I would not use that as a pickup line.

When it was time for Emily to meet the guys, the first suitor up was Sean, a Texas insurance agent who couldn't "wait" to talk to her. Not a great start there.

We also met David, a singer/songwriter from New York who doesn't believe in ties or buttoning up his shirt. According to his IMDB page, his favorite ice cream flavor is "Oatmeal Cookie Crunch." Sadly, he didn't mention this to Emily.

Then there was Jackson the fitness model, who got down on one knee and delivered a spiel that sounded like he was launching a new fragrance; and Joe the "field energy advise r" who looked like he really needed to go potty when he arrived.

The second limo brought us Aaron, a biology teacher who proceeded to deliver the worst science-related pickup line known to man. He could have name-dropped the periodic table, quarks or igneous rock, but he had to mention chemistry.

We were also introduced to Alessandro, a grain merchant from Brazil who now calls Minnesota home. Wonder what he thinks of lutefisk.

The third limo pulled up and Jef with one "f" was holding on to its trunk for dear life, as he arrived via skateboard. He then proceeded to toss the skateboard into the bushes. Charlotte does have anti-littering laws, Jef!

Tony the lumber trader presented Emily with a glass slipper, and why she didn't find it creepy that Tony apparently knows her shoe size is beyond me.

Lerone also arrived, and told Emily that he finds single moms attractive. This is also the point when we'll never hear from him again, which doesn't bode well for the defense's case.

The fourth limo brought out a guy dressed like Whistler's Mother. It turned out to be Randy from California, and he was dressed like a "Dance Fever" extra once he took off the grandma frock. We also met Brent, a single father of six who promised to wear a name tag, as well as John, whose friends call him "Wolf". Since I'm not his friend, I'll call him John.

Then there was Travis, an ad sales rep from Mississippi who arrived carrying a giant ostrich egg. He said the egg represented Emily and her daughter. I say it means Travis believes he's walked into a high school psychology project, and I eagerly await for the guy carrying a bag of flour.

The final limo introduced us to Alejandro, a mushroom farmer originally from Colombia. The show managed to misspell "Colombia" in the subtitles, making me wonder how long he'll last.

By that point, there were 24 suitors in the house. So where was No. 25? Just then, a helicopter arrived at the manor. The men wondered who could be in the chopper. Brad Womack? Bentley Williams? The process server handing Chris his divorce papers?

Nope, it was Kalon, who got his "obnoxious" credo back with this stunt. He then proceeded to infuriate the suitors even more when, during the cocktail party, he committed a "Bachelorette" first by refusing to give another man some Emily-time of his own!

Kalon eventually relented, but it was refreshing to see someone finally say "no" when a rival asked to cut in. Perhaps Emily should've provided the stunned suitor with a Sudoku puzzle book to bide his time while she finished her conversation.

The "First Impression" rose was back in play, and Emily opted to give the flower to Doug, a single dad from Washington state. Among those not getting that rose was Chris, a Chicago native who presented Emily with bobble-head dolls of the two of them. And you thought the egg was dorky.

When it was time for the rose ceremony, 18 suitors learned they would join Doug for another go-around. The survivors included Chris the bobble-head boy, "Mr. Helicopter" Kalon, Arie the race car driver and Jef with one "f". The six going home included "Brady Bunch" Brent, Randy the cross-dresser and "Exhibit A" Lerone.

As is tradition with the premiere episode, the show ended with a preview of what to expect this season. If you're a fan of men wearing kilts, Dolly Parton and pretty women dropping "f" bombs, then this is the season for you.

What did you think of last night's "Bachelorette" premiere?

The world is just going to have to wait a bit longer for the Kate Gosselin Cruise Liner Express.

The former “Kate Plus 8” star has shuttered plans to launch her own event aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship this summer in the face of tepid turnout and disappointing sales, per Radar Online.

Fans had been invited to sail the high seas with the reality show mama from August 12-19, but now it seems some will be staying on dry land.

Tickets were priced between $1,900-$3,175 a pop.

"Yes, that event has been canceled,” a rep for the luxury cruise company told Radar Online. “We just didn't get the turnout that we desired and mutually we agreed that if we didn't get it, we would cancel."

All passes to hang out with the mother of eight have since been refunded, although “some have chosen to continue on with the cruise, but everyone was given the choice," the rep said.

Gosselin's said to have called each ticket holder individually to apologize for the disappointment.

"It was nothing to do with her," the cruise line rep said. "We needed to hit certain numbers and they just weren't where they needed to be."
