Will Britney help 'X Factor' mark its spot?We're starting to feel bad for the singers auditioning on tonight's season 2 premiere of "The X Factor," because they're already irrelevant. Judging from the laser-focus on the pop star's arrival as a new judge, "X Factor" is now Britney's show, and everyone else is just appearing on it.

'The Voice' to battle 'X Factor's' premiereThe competition between NBC's "The Voice" and Fox's "The X Factor" is now a little less friendly. The two singing competitions are both launching their fall seasons next week, and at first, NBC's "The Voice" was going to premiere on September 10 and September 11.

Britney on 'X Factor': This time, she plays niceAn earlier promo of Britney Spears on "The X Factor" seemed to hint that the new judge has some of Simon Cowell's biting criticism in her, but a new clip shows a different side to the pop star. In July, we watched spliced-together footage of Spears at the judges' table, telling one contestant that they were "very predictable," and another, "you definitely don't have the 'X Factor.'"

Nicole Scherzinger to judge 'X Factor' in the U.K.Nicole Scherzinger was axed from Simon Cowell's U.S. version of "The X Factor" after one season, but the singer is now going to give "X Factor" judging a go on the U.K. edition. The 33-year-old singer/actress, who has been a guest judge on the program before, will join Tulisa, Louis Walsh and Gary Barlow when "X Factor" returns across the pond later this summer.

Report: Britney Spears signs on for 'X Factor'The speculation surrounding Britney Spears' rumored "X Factor" deal continued Thursday as reports suggest that the pop star has signed a contract to officially be a judge on the reality competition. According to E!, Spears is set to join season 1 holdovers Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid when "The X Factor" returns to Fox in the fall. The site reports that the pop star signed a deal this week to get $15 million for one season. A source tells E! that there's been "a lot of back and forth over the past few weeks as they negotiated small details, but she's on. It's all completed and Britney is beyond excited."

Could Miley, Demi or Avril become an 'X Factor' judge?We know that Simon Cowell is looking for a few good women to join his "X Factor" judges' table, and there's a fresh batch of rumored names being added to the mix. According to reports, the reality show king is said to be eyeing Avril Lavigne, Miley Cyrus, Gwen Stefani and Demi Lovato for one of the open judging positions, in addition to also reportedly trying to seal a deal with Britney Spears. E! reports that Cyrus is among the stars in consideration to join Cowell and L.A. Reid on the star-studded panel, but a source tells the site that she hasn’t received an official offer. |
