For its 39th season, "Saturday Night Live" relied on an old favorite, Tina Fey, to help them introduce a major cast change.
In place of former stars Jason Sudeikis, Fred Armisen and Bill Hader, there are now six newbies that fans will have to learn to tell apart. That likely didn't happen after Saturday night's season premiere, but with Fey at the lead, the transition wasn't disastrous.

With Seth Meyers preparing to leave "Saturday Night Live" next February to take over NBC's "Late Night," the long-standing sketch comedy is tapping fresh talent.
In order to ease the transition, particularly on Meyers' staple "Weekend Update" sketch, "SNL's" Lorne Michaels is eyeing Cecily Strong to fill Meyers' empty seat.

Two "Saturday Night Live" sets, an Instagram and 66 projector images later, we now have a better picture of what's to come on Kanye West's anticipated new album.
As promised, the rapper - not to be confused with a celebrity - didn't take part in any of the skits for "SNL's" season finale/swan song for cast member Bill Hader. But he didn't need to - over the course of two songs, West still left a lasting impression.

Thanks to "Saturday Night Live's" Kate McKinnon, Wednesday's "Ellen" had twice as much DeGeneres.
The "SNL" comedian put on an Ellen-approved blond wig, sweater and jeans, and came back out on the set as the cheery host's double.
McKinnon's impersonated Ellen before, such as in the "SNL" skit that also had Anne Hathaway taking a stab at playing Katie Holmes:
