Jamie Foxx's Ding Dong deal?Jamie Foxx not only had "Saturday Night Live" viewers raving about his appearance on the December 8 broadcast, but his second hosting gig on the show may have also led to a new deal with Hostess. The news about Hostess Brands’ sudden bankruptcy and closure has caused snack fans everywhere to panic about the demise of the Twinkie, and on Saturday Foxx weighed in with "SNL's" Seth Meyers as an “out-of-the-box” character - a Hostess Ding Dong.

Kenan Thompson comedy in the works at NBCKenan Thompson could become the next "Saturday Night Live" star to command his own comedy at NBC. According to the Hollywood Reporter, "SNL" creator Lorne Michaels is working with Thompson on a scripted single-camera series that Thompson would write, star in and executive produce.

Jeremy Renner should do a musicalJeremy Renner just made a great case for a "Glee" cameo, as he blew us away with his singing over the weekend on "Saturday Night Live." While his comedic abilities didn't really shine for some critics, his vocals stood out. (You can watch his monologue here.)

'SNL' spoofs Brad Pitt, brings in big ratingsThe original Chanel No. 5 commercial was funny enough, but "Saturday Night Live" of course had to join those mocking Brad Pitt's uber-serious shilling of the women's fragrance. Taran Killam was the night's Brad Pitt lookalike, with shoulder-length locks and a scruffy beard. The "SNL" actor even matched Pitt's rambling tone as he droned on about journeys, the world turning and plans disappearing. It all sounded very familiar, until Killam veered off:

Big Bird stays up to pay a visit to 'SNL'We can't help but wonder if Elmo's feeling a little jealous now that Big Bird's getting late-night play. The yellow, tall and feathered "Sesame Street" resident stayed up seven hours past bedtime on Saturday to sit down with Seth Meyers on "Saturday Night Live's" "Weekend Update." The sketch comedy show offered the character the chance to respond to Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's remarks about loving Big Bird, but not so much that he wouldn't cut funding from PBS.

Seth MacFarlane hosts 'SNL' - what's the verdict?Expectations were high for the 38th season premiere of "Saturday Night Live" this weekend, but host Seth MacFarlane did his best to meet them. With "SNL's" retooling, there was a lot riding on the season opener, which had Frank Ocean as the musical guest. In addition to three new cast members, this is a political season, and Jay Pharoah now does the impression of President Obama instead of Fred Armisen. We didn't have to wait long to see how well Pharoah would do, as Saturday's premiere began with Armisen passing the torch. |
