When Cam and Mitchell got the call that the baby they've been waiting for was arriving in a California border town, it looked like great news for the couple on Wednesday night's "Modern Family" season finale.

Gloria - this week's MVP - accompanied them on the trip as a translator.

Once they arrived at the hospital, the telenovela fans found a real life telenovela taking place before their eyes. After the drama played out, the grandmother announced that she was going to take care of the child.

With just one week left in the season, "Modern Family" is not resting on its laurels. The show continues to provide memorable moments, and Wednesday's episode was yet another example (I predict we'll see that scene at the Emmys).

Seeing the entire family arguing while portraying a "living portrait" was so evocative of the series as a whole, and hilarious to boot. So, why was everyone so upset?

When Gloria learned that Jay told a waitress things that he didn't tell her, he responded by saying that sometimes she can be a little loud. Gloria decided to start speaking in stage whispers (though it was difficult for her not to scream "Manny!" for a split second).

When we saw all the tweets from the cast several weeks back, it was clear that everyone had a blast shooting the Disneyland episode of "Modern Family" that aired on Wednesday night.

But while it was just as fun to watch the characters in a new setting, most of the stories were fairly trifling. (Cam and Mitchell's misadventures with Lily's leash, and Manny's inability to enjoy the park because of a school project, for example.)

There were some funny shots taken at Disneyland, considering the show airs on ABC, such as the long lines and Claire's remark that "the happiest place on earth is also home to the most expensive churro on earth."
