Now that Cory Monteith's "Glee" character has been laid to rest, the end of the Fox series is clearly in sight.
Co-creator Ryan Murphy said at a Paley Center event on Wednesday that the eccentric comedy will end with its next season, the show's sixth.
"Glee" has never been afraid of diving headfirst into an emotional hotspot. But after Thursday night's farewell to Cory Monteith - and his character, Finn Hudson - we're hard-pressed to think of an episode that was as raw as "The Quarterback."
'Glee' says goodbye to Cory Monteith
The hour held several gut-wrenching performances, including a rendition of "Seasons of Love" that featured the majority of the old and new cast.
If you somehow didn't guess already, you will need Kleenex for next week's tribute to Cory Monteith on "Glee."
A new trailer offers plenty of fair warning, as it features Monteith's girlfriend and co-star, Lea Michele, singing "Make You Feel My Love" as the rest of the cast mournfully bids farewell to Monteith's character, Finn Hudson.
It's only 30 seconds long, but good luck making it to the end without chocking up:
"Glee" star Naya Rivera was wearing a very noticeable diamond ring at a Latina magazine event on Thursday, and now we know why: the actress and singer is reportedly engaged to her rapper boyfriend Big Sean.
Rivera, 26, has been publicly attached to the Detroit artist since an April movie premiere, and have since collaborated on Rivera's new single, "Sorry."
The last time Lea Michele's Twitter followers saw an update from the "Glee" star was on July 13, when the unthinkable happened. The 26-year-old's on- and off-screen boyfriend, Cory Monteith, was found dead at 31.
In the days since, Michele's co-stars have one by one expressed their grief over losing Monteith. On July 29, Michele broke her silence and joined the chorus with a statement of her own.
A number of "Glee" stars thought of Cory Monteith like a brother, and on Thursday they gathered to mourn the loss of their show business sibling.
The comedy's co-creator, Ryan Murphy, joined Lea Michele in rounding up "Glee's" cast, crew and producers for a private memorial service in honor of the 31-year-old actor. Monteith died July 13 from a mixed drug toxicity that included heroin and alcohol.
