You’re invited to tune in to (or DVR) the matrimony of “30 Rock’s” Liz Lemon and Criss Chros on Thursday, November 29, according to NBC.
As a result of the havoc brought by Superstorm Sandy, NBC's schedule was switched around this week. Instead of airing Thursday, the conclusion to last week’s “30 Rock” election cliffhanger arrived a day early.
Liz and Jack both tried to use Jenna’s newfound influence on north Florida voters. Jack thought Jenna would support Romney since “she’s aging, mean and rich. That sounds Republican to me.” Liz replied that since she's “been shot and left for dead in three different deserts," she'd be pro gun control.
Of course, Jenna had different priorities: “Someone who respects the human fetus. And recognizes its value as a hair volumizer.”
Thursday night’s “30 Rock” boiled undecided voters down to one key demographic: Jenna Maroney fans.
Ahead of Jenna performing of her Jimmy Buffet-esque hit single, “Catching Crabs in Paradise” (yes both kinds of crabs) on the “Today” show, her “crab catchers” gathered outside NBC to “unwindulax.”
Thursday night’s episode of “30 Rock” addressed yet another hot button real-life issue when Tracy tweeted at Stephen Hawking that women aren’t funny. Nerd rage!
Liz confronted Tracy, arguing, “Maybe things that men like are boring to women … Football, motorcycles, steak restaurants, really dark superhero movies. These are things that suck.”
In keeping with the theme of the night, politics also infiltrated Thursday's episode of "30 Rock."
Jack had to step up his Republican game when Paul Ryan stepped down after the revelation that he was born in Kenya. He consulted Romney’s horse via Skype, and asked Liz to avoid politics on TGS in order to keep ratings plummeting.
The final season of “30 Rock” premiered Thursday with an episode that was neither bitter nor sweet.
Instead, it was brimming with the rapid-fire, dagger-sharp jokes that have made it TV’s most consistently funny show for six seasons.
In the opening scene, Liz Lemon held a swaddled baby and declared, “After all these years I finally have it all.” Then she hurled the fake baby at the crew.
