Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Does TV glorify teen pregnancy?This morning in the "Showbiz Tonight" meeting the big buzz centered on programs like MTV’s reality show “Teen Mom” and ABC Family’s drama, “The Secret Life of an American Teenager.” Are these shows glorifying teen pregnancy? Or are they just raising awareness of the struggles in the lives of these young mothers? The debate was on in today's meeting! "Showbiz Tonight" producer Natasha Haynes-Smith doesn’t believe these shows glorify teen motherhood. She said this morning, “I think it shows how hard it is to be a mom at any age. The show completely breaks my heart but I can’t stop watching. It’s train wreck T.V. in a heart-wrenching sort of way.”

Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Paris speaks outToday in the "Showbiz Tonight" morning meeting, it was all about Paris Hilton. The reality TV star/heiress has been banned from two Las Vegas properties as a result of her felony cocaine arrest, and now she's speaking out. “These rumors going around are so ridiculous, untrue and cruel," Hilton tweeted. "I'm not going to even pay attention to them, because I know the truth."

Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Battle of the New Jersey showsThe big buzz in the "Showbiz Tonight" morning meeting today was about the battle of the New Jersey shows. Today it’s “Jersey Shore” vs. “Real Housewives of New Jersey," since both shows are getting spectacular ratings and continue to outdo each other with over-the-top drama. We're raising some big questions today on "Showbiz Tonight," starting with whether or not New Jersey is the new Hollywood, and which show is a bigger train wreck. "Showbiz" producer Sandra Lee was torn on her answer, but ultimately voted “Real Housewives of New Jersey” saying, “They’re true adults, they’re parents and the fact that they act like children is pretty outrageous.”

Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Brad Pitt's future may not include actingHappy Monday! Everyone on the "Showbiz Tonight" staff is just exhausted after Sunday night's Emmys. What a show! We all think Jimmy Fallon was a hit as the host, and we loved the fact that so many first-timers took home an award. That’s the good news from the weekend, but there's also some bad news, and it involves Paris Hilton. Apparently she was arrested on suspicion of cocaine possession in Las Vegas on Friday night. She was riding in her boyfriend’s car on the Vegas strip when a policeman noticed what he suspected to be marijuana smoke coming from the car she was in. Then the officer reportedly found what appeared to be a controlled substance on Hilton, and tests showed that it was cocaine. So can Paris go to jail? "Showbiz Tonight’s" legal team is working on the case!

Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Fantasia opens up on overdoseTalk about an unbelievable admission - one time “American Idol” champ Fantasia Barrino has opened up about her shocking drug overdose just two weeks ago. In a new VH1 “Behind The Music” airing today, Barrino confesses that she purposefully swallowed a combination of aspirin and sleeping pills to end her life. She tells VH1, “I just sat in the closet and looked at the mirror and took all the pills in the bottle. I wanted to go to sleep and just be at peace. I knew exactly what I was doing. You can't accidentally take a whole bottle of pills." |
