Madonna takes on Gaga with 'Born This Way' mashup

They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery, but Madonna's recent cover of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" might not be seen as such.

While rehearsing for her M.D.N.A. tour, the Material Mom made it a point to mashup her classic song “Express Yourself” with Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way."

When Gaga first dropped the single, music fans were quick to point out the similarity between the two tracks, something that hasn't been lost on Madge.

Madonna on track for record sales drop?

Madonna had the biggest album debut of the year with her new offering, "MDNA," but the disc's second week sales may lead to a less flattering record.

Forbes reports that the superstar's latest is on track to have the biggest second-week drop in chart history.

Contributor Roger Friedman is hedging his bets that "when all the numbers are in on Tuesday night, 'MDNA' will have fallen from No. 1 by 88 percent - from 359,000 copies in its first week to roughly 46,000 the second week."

Katy Perry dedicates Super Bowl song to Tebow

Tim Tebow wasn't playing in Sunday's Super Bowl, but you might've thought he was by the way Katy Perry kept dropping his name.

The pop star was on hand in Indianapolis, Indiana to play her first U.S. performance since splitting from Russell Brand in December, and E! reports that she also handed out an award at the NFL Honors ceremony on Saturday.

Tebow, who happened to be sitting in the front row of the audience, was called out by Perry, who may have heard the gossip that her parents are trying to set her up with the quarterback. "Hey Tim," Perry said while handing off the first honor of the night, "my parents say 'Hi.'"

Madonna inks Interscope deal, album to arrive in March

Madonna's first new album in five years is ready to roll out in late March, Interscope Records confirmed Thursday. To top it off, the 53-year-old has also inked a new three-album deal with the label.

The album's first single, “Gimme All Your Luvin,” will be released the last week in January, just in time for the Grammy-winning singer’s February 5 Super Bowl halftime appearance.

Madonna previously signed on to a extensive deal with Live Nation in 2007 that includes merchandising, new albums, DVDs, touring, and television and film projects, among other things. Now that Interscope is involved, Live Nation Entertainment’s Chairman of Global Music & CEO of Global Touring, Arthur Fogel, enthuses, “We look forward to a great partnership.”
