John Mayer 'humiliated' by Taylor Swift songAlthough Taylor Swift didn't explicitly say that her song "Dear John" is about John Mayer, it seems she was right when she guessed that she wouldn't have to. The 34-year-old singer/songwriter, who's been accused of using ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston as inspiration for a recent single himself, told Rolling Stone in a new interview that he was “really humiliated” by “Dear John,” which appears on Swift's 2010 album, “Speak Now.”

But if you’re John Mayer, you'll come up with something a little more original - like serenading a woman with text from the risque book du jour “Fifty Shades of Grey.” On “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” Tuesday the rocker said he recently tried to woo a girl he liked by performing a page from British author E.L. James’ novel.

John Mayer says his 'Shadow Days' are overJohn Mayer scoffs when asked about an "unnamed source" who claims his new single, "Shadow Days," was written as an ode to his ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston. "It's weird because I've never told anybody what a song is about, literally," the seven-time Grammy winner explains to CNN. "There's no sources because no one ever asked! At no time writing the song did the engineer say, 'What's that about?' At no time did (producer) Don Was look at me and say, 'Hey Johnny, what's that song about?'" But if you listen to the lyrics, you'd realize "Shadow Days" isn't about a woman. It's a mantra from Mayer to himself: "I'm a good man with a good heart/Had a tough time/Got a rough start."

John Mayer: I lost my head for a little whileIf John Mayer has learned nothing else these past few years, it’s to keep quiet when he’s not singing. The 34-year-old rocker - who admits he's suffered from a little disease affectionately known as "foot in mouth" - told Ellen DeGeneres a series of verbal blunders he made are responsible for "[rocketing him] into adulthood." "I lost my head for a little while,” he said on Tuesday’s “Ellen” of some controversial comments he made two years ago about ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson’s moves in the bedroom, his true feelings about another ex, Jennifer Aniston, and his thoughts about black women.

John Mayer recovering from throat surgerySinger/songwriter John Mayer had throat surgery last Thursday, and the Grammy winner has taken to his Tumblr to brief fans on his recovery. “I wanted to give you an update on the granuloma just above my vocal cord,” Mayer wrote on October 20. “I had surgery this afternoon to remove it and am now on complete vocal rest for a month or more. It’s been a very long process in waiting to see if time was an alternative to surgery, but even given two weeks’ voice rest (along with many other approaches), there was no change for the better.” The troublesome granuloma (a small area of tissue inflammation) caused Mayer to cancel concerts last month. "I'm bummed to have to bow out of both the iheartradio Music Festival in Las Vegas and an appearance with Tony Bennett in Los Angeles," the acoustic rocker said in a statement at the time. |
