Two movies are in theaters this weekend starring pairs of extremely likable actors: Roland Emmerich's action flick "White House Down," with Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx, and Paul Feig's female buddy cop comedy "The Heat," with Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock.
There's enough time in the stretch between Friday and Monday to fit them both in, but only one can be crowned as the box office winner come Sunday night.

For "Magic Mike 2," Channing Tatum might wind up performing tricks behind the camera.
The 33-year-old star says that a follow-up to his 2012 stripper tale is still in development, but they've run into a problem: "Magic Mike" director Steven Soderbergh isn't really interested in directing another movie.
Unless Soderbergh can be convinced to return, it looks like Tatum might have to slide into that empty director's chair.

There's been speculation about how "Man of Steel's" rewarding box office could escalate efforts for a "Justice League" movie, but this year's Superman hopes everyone will wait to do it right.
"Justice League could be great, if done correctly. It's a very tough one to do," "Man of Steel's" Henry Cavill told ABC News.

As one of the sexiest men alive and a major winner at the box office, Channing Tatum has climbed Hollywood's celebrity ranks to sit right at the top.
But just because he and his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, can no longer escape the paparazzi doesn't mean he wants his newborn daughter to follow in his footsteps.

The tragedy that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary in December has left its mark on Jim Carrey.
The 51-year-old actor has said that in light of that event and those like it, he can't stand behind the violence in his upcoming movie, "Kick-Ass 2."

After getting pushed back from April to August 16, Open Road Films' Steve Jobs biopic "Jobs" now has its first theatrical trailer.
The two-minute clip begins with Ashton Kutcher as the Apple visionary in his younger years, a college dropout who was launching a soon-to-be iconic start-up out of his garage.
