Tom Cruise signs on for 'Mission: Impossible 5'Tom Cruise has signed on for a fifth "Mission: Impossible" movie. Paramount announced in a press release Tuesday that the 50-year-old actor will return to the franchise as Ethan Hunt, a role he first played in 1996.

Tom Cruise kept working through divorceTom Cruise was at work filming today's sci-fi release "Oblivion" when his ex-wife Katie Holmes moved to file for divorce. But as the headlines piled up, Cruise kept grinding away, never losing his focus on the film, "Oblivion's" director Joe Kosinski told CNN.

Tom Cruise returns to sci-fi with 'Oblivion'Within the past year, Tom Cruise has played a rocker right out of an '80s hair band and a retired military cop who's famous among bookworms, but on April 19 he'll return to sci-fi. The 50-year-old actor will appear in "Oblivion" as a nostalgic member of a "mop-up crew," which are charged with repairing drones on a desolate Earth.

Katie Holmes 'doing all right' as Tom Cruise has 'somber' birthdayAs the press tells it, Katie Holmes is all smiles while her estranged husband Tom Cruise has a somber birthday. The actor, who turned 50 on July 3, is said to have spent the day with extended family members and his two kids with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, Bella and Connor. The timing was undoubtedly rough, as Cruise's ex Holmes had just filed for divorce from the "Mission: Impossible" star the week before.
