Would you name your son Jesse James?Turns out parents don’t like naming their children after Hollywood’s unfaithful husbands. Their adored Hollywood wives, however, are another story. While the name Jesse, as in Jesse James, becomes less popular on BabyCenter.com’s annual Baby Names Survey, Sandra continues to creep up the list, according to the site’s editor in chief, Linda Murray. “For the most part, parents are drawn to positive celebrity images,” Murray said.

Sandra Bullock: Everything works outAfter laying low for the better part of 2010, Sandra Bullock gave her first televised, sit-down interview on the "Today" show this morning. The philanthropist and new mom to adopted son Louis, who Bullock calls a “little Cajun cookie,” spoke with Matt Lauer in New Orleans about life after her split with Jesse James. However, the motorcycle mogul’s name wasn’t mentioned during Lauer’s time with Bullock. Instead, the “Today” host focused on the new man in Bullock’s life: her son.

Sandra Bullock is Hollywood's top-earning actressShe may not have hit the jackpot in her love life, but Sandra Bullock’s finances this past year have been pretty golden. According to Forbes ranking of Hollywood’s highest-paid actresses, Bullock is number one, having hauled in $56 million between June 2009 and June 2010. Despite reducing her fee to play the lead in the film “The Blind Side,” her share of the profits paid off handsomely as the movie earned $310 million at the box office – a healthy return on an estimated budget of about $30 million.

'Most Wanted' isn't Sandy B.'s next filmIf you thought the premise for “Most Wanted,” the movie Sandra Bullock has signed on to, sounded a little off for a woman who just took home an Oscar, you weren’t alone. The Monday following Bullock's announcement at the MTV Movie Awards that she wasn’t, in fact, done with acting, EW learned that Bullock planned to return to “The Proposal” territory by teaming up with Ryan Reynolds again for the action comedy about a criminal (Bullock) and a U.S. Marshall (Reynolds) forced to go on the run after being ambushed on their way to court. However, after people scratched their heads in wonder that Bullock would go down that road again now that she could have her pick of dramatic roles, a rep clarified what exactly "signed on to" meant.

Sandra Bullock snags MTV Generation AwardAwards season isn’t over yet for Sandra Bullock: MTV plans on giving the actress the MTV Generation Award at the network's Movie Awards on Sunday, June 6. Bullock’s publicist has confirmed that the actress will be there to accept the award, although she won’t be doing any interviews. It will be her first public appearance since reports surfaced that her husband Jesse James cheated on her. The actress, 45, will be the first woman to take home the Generation Award, which is given to a star who has “engaged the MTV audience throughout their career,” according to a statement from MTV. Bullock, said MTV’s general manager Stephen Friedman in the statement, “is one of those rare individuals who is adored by our audience as both an actress and a role model." With the Generation award, the network is “Recognizing her remarkable talent, amazing range of films and her visceral connection to our audience around the globe.” |
