It's been 19 long months since Jack Bauer's most recent (but not last – a movie is on the way!) mission on "24."
However, fans of Kiefer Sutherland will be getting a taste of his new Fox series, "Touch" (from the creator of "Heroes") on Wednesday. But instead of playing an extraordinary CTU agent, he has an extraordinary son.
"In the beginning of the story, we discover [Sutherland's character] Martin, who has a son named Jake, who in the course of our story we realize has been misdiagnosed with severe autism and in fact is actually just a truly, truly evolved human being that is years and years beyond where my character is and our society is at," the actor explained to reporters on Monday.
The news you might've missed:
Actor Kiefer Sutherland’s got a full plate between his Broadway play, "That Championship Season," his new web series, "The Confession," and of course, the "24” movie.
"There's been talk about it forever," Sutherland told CNN of the feature film version of the smash Fox series. “But it is slated right now for the summer of 2012."
"I'm one of the producers (of Fox's "24" film) and I've been working with Ron Howard,” he revealed. “We've had a couple of scripts that I think were wonderful but they weren't perfect, and I think we worked so hard on the series for that long that we want to make, if not a series of films, at least the one film really matter. We've just been working so hard to reach that."
Jason Patric has always been a fiercely private actor — that is, until now.
In a new interview, the star reveals all about his '90s love triangle with Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland, his dislike of former co-star Ashley Judd, and his iconic grandfather Jackie Gleason.
Patric is currently starring in Broadway's "That Championship Season" with Sutherland, his co-star in 1987's "The Lost Boys." The two became pals while making the classic film, but just four years later, Patric flew off to Ireland with runaway bride Roberts after she called off her wedding to Sutherland.
We're reaching out to Fox for comment/confirmation now, but "this just in" – a tweet from "24" executive producer Jon Cassar:
News from the 24 set,the crew has been told that 24 has come to an end. There will b no season 9. Its been a great run, thanx all 4 watching.
If it's true, will Jack, Chloe and the gang be hitting the silver screen before too long?
Brooke Shields has finally broken her silence about the Kiefer Sutherland headbutting incident. Almost one week after Sutherland allegedly headbutted a fashion designer for bumping into the actress, her lawyer released this statement to Showbiz Tonight:
"A number of statements have been attributed to Ms. Shields in the media that are neither true nor authorized. These statements were obviously made by those who were not in attendance at the party and constitute their version of events. While at the party she was bumped into by Jack McCollough and Kiefer Sutherland became concerned. Kiefer has always been a gentleman in her company. Both Jack and Kiefer are friends of Ms. Shields and she regrets this unfortunate situation."
With friends like those...
Kiefer Sutherland's attorney also got in on the action and told Showbiz Tonight:
"We are troubled by the untruthful and self-serving information circulating regarding Kiefer Sutherland and events of last Monday evening. We are confident, however, that the investigation being conducted by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and the NYPD will confirm that Kiefer Sutherland was neither the instigator nor a wrongdoer in this incident. Out of respect for this law enforcement process, Kiefer Sutherland will not be making any comment."
