When Katherine Heigl and husband Josh Kelley adopted daughter Naleigh in 2009, 33-year-old Heigl wasn't expecting to not bond with their new baby right away.
The "One for the Money" actress tells CNN that at first, Naleigh gravitated more toward her husband.
"[Josh] would just come into the room and make her giggle and make her laugh," Heigl recalls. "I would always think, 'Something's wrong, something's wrong. She doesn't like me, she doesn't want me.' So I think it is sort of a female thing."

There was a time when “New Year’s Eve” star Katherine Heigl wanted to look more like fellow actress Jennifer Aniston, but no longer, she tells British Cosmopolitan in the magazine's January issue, according to Us Weekly.
"I was 20 pounds heavier and wanted to look like those girls with fantastically beautiful bodies like Jennifer Aniston or Jessica Alba, but I just couldn't lose the weight," Heigl, 33, says of struggling to measure up in Hollywood.
But she says she’s fine with the perfectly svelte body she has.

Cigarettes used to be a stress reliever for Katherine Heigl, but now the 31-year-old actress is definitively proclaiming that "smoking sucks" - except when it comes to electronic cigarettes.
Heigl, whose movie “Life As We Know It” opens on October 8, told Parade magazine that an electronic cigarette has been a life-saver for the past six months.
“I know it sound’s ridiculous, but it's helping me not to actually smoke real cigarettes,” Heigl said. “You feel like you are smoking, and you get to exhale but it’s just water vapor and not nicotine.”

If you're still missing Katherine Heigl on "Grey's Anatomy," you're not alone. The actress says that while she, too, misses her character Dr. Izzie Stevens, she doesn't plan on ever returning to the hit TV series.
"That chapter is closed, and it's sad, and it's hard," 31-year-old Heigl admitted to MTV.
Though fans might have been hoping that Izzie – who has been MIA since leaving both Seattle Grace Hospital and husband Alex in January - would pop up again to tie up loose ends, Heigl said they shouldn't hold their breath.
"I can't think of any way that she could come back gracefully that wouldn't just feel manipulative," said the star, who left the ABC show to focus on being mom to Naleigh, the daughter she adopted with singer hubby Josh Kelley. "And, it's hard, because I really wonder what she's doing and where she is and what happened, but that is over for me now."

Adoption may seem to be the celebrity lifestyle choice du jour, but Katherine Heigl says she'd been dreaming of bringing home a baby of her home for quite a while.
It was so important to her that she had to make sure husband Josh Kelley felt just as strongly about adoption before they could walk down the aisle.
“Josh and I had been talking about adopting for a year before it actually happened. I had spoken to him about it before we got engaged because I wanted to be sure we were on the same page—not everybody feels the way I do about adoption,” Heigl told InStyle magazine for their October cover story. “I don’t know why it was so important for me to do it before we had biological children, but I felt like I had been waiting for and dreaming about [daughter] Naleigh for a long time.”
