In theory, having the typically witty Jennifer Lawrence host "Saturday Night Live" sounded like a perfect fit. But in reality, the episode ended up falling fairly flat, although not for lack of effort on Lawrence's part.
Saturday's show, "SNL's" first in a month, had Lawrence riff on the backlash to her "I beat Meryl!" Globes comment in her opening monologue, with the 22-year-old actress going after her Oscars competition with (pretty corny) disses.
Following reports that Jennifer Lawrence parted ways from her beau Nick Hoult are new rumors that she's already found someone new: her "Silver Linings Playbook" co-star Bradley Cooper.
But at the Golden Globes on Sunday, at which both stars were nominated for best actor awards, Cooper, 38, and Lawrence, 22, shut down the gossip.
Jennifer Lawrence landed on the short list of Hollywood’s most lucrative leading ladies after earning an Oscar nomination for her performance in 2010’s “Winter’s Bone.”
She's since defeated evil in “X-Men: First Class”; emerged victorious in “The Hunger Games”; and been terrorized in “The House at the End of the Street."
