Elton John on fatherhood: It's been enchantingElton John is singing the praises of becoming a first-time father at the age of 63. "I thought I would be frantic, worrying about when he's crying," John tells CNN of Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, who was born via surrogate on Christmas Day. "I got to understand that's what babies do — crying, and you put him over your shoulder, you carry him in front of you, you change him, you feed him, you read him a bedtime story, you bathe him. It's all so wonderful. This is the most beautiful time because he's just a little innocent blank canvas and it's totally relaxed me. It's been enchanting." Elton John shows off baby ZacharyThe holiday season brought a special gift for Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish: baby Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, who was born via a surrogate on Christmas Day. The wee one posed for his first photo shoot for Us Weekly, which John and Furnish invited into their Los Angeles home for a little behind-the-scenes view of life with the newborn. According to Furnish, 48, Zachary’s “a content little guy...He just loves to be nurtured, cuddled, and sung to." Asked during a recent Radio 2 interview if he would be singing at the April 29, 2011, ceremony at London's Westminster Abbey, John replied, "I probably am," before joking, "I'll probably be busking outside." The 63-year-old superstar was good friends with William's late mother and famously performed a reworked version of his classic "Candle in the Wind" at her 1997 funeral. Elton John: Why I was Limbaugh's wedding singerElton John made headlines when he performed at right-wing commentator Rush Limbaugh's June wedding to Kathryn Rogers, and now he is defending his decision to appear at the "I dos." Limbaugh has a reputation for making anti-gay remarks, so, John tells the London Telegraph, "When he asked me to play at his wedding, my agent said, 'Well, of course you won’t be doing it,’ 'But I said, 'Well, let me think about that first.'" And while John, who married partner David Furnish in 2005, is aware that Limbaugh is against gay marriage, he also notes, "so is President Obama. But Limbaugh’s not anti-civil partnerships, so [I thought] maybe I can have a dialogue about that. I’ve put my foot in the water and so has he."
