Rihanna on Chris Brown: 'I lost my best friend'Rihanna has been pretty open about the fact that, when it comes to whatever dealings she may have with former boyfriend Chris Brown (who pled guilty to assaulting her in 2009), she's going to do what she wants. Three years and two remixes later, the "Birthday Cake" singer is opening up to Oprah about the night that changed everything between her and Brown.

Rihanna misses 'SNL' rehearsal, tweets Brown a birthday greetingRihanna may have been too under the weather for a rehearsal, but she did make sure to send her ex some birthday love. The singer was the musical guest on the latest "Saturday Night Live," and her rep confirmed to CNN that she didn't appear for a rehearsal because she was "was sick, so she needed to save her voice for the live show." But Idolator reports that she made sure to tweet Chris Brown a Cinco de Mayo birthday greeting before she took to the "SNL" stage.

Rihanna on Chris Brown: I'm going to do what I wantSay what you will about Rihanna's collaboration and seeming reconciliation with her ex Chris Brown, who pleaded guilty to one count of assault in connection to an argument he had with the Barbadian pop star in 2009, but the singer is hearing none of it. She tells Elle magazine in its May issue of the backlash to her decision to work with Brown that she understands people have their opinions, but she's not going to let them sway her. "The bottom line is that everyone thinks differently. It’s very hard for me to accept, but I get it," Rihanna says in the interview. "People end up wasting their time on the blogs or whatever, ranting away, and that’s all right. Because tomorrow I’m still going to be the same person. I’m still going to do what I want to do.”

Rihanna on Chris Brown remixes: It's innocentThe Internet seemed to go into shock last month when Rihanna and Chris Brown released two remixes, each containing vocals of the other, but Rihanna doesn't see what all of the fuss was about. The pop star told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show Thursday that Brown just happened to be the right man for the job. "I reached out to him about doing ‘Birthday Cake,’ because that’s the only person that really...it made sense to do the record," Rihanna said. "Just as a musician, despite everything else..."

Chris Brown facing legal trouble again?Chris Brown can’t seem to stay off our radar. On Thursday, some reports claimed that Brown has been accused of "robbery by sudden snatching" for allegedly taking a fan’s iPhone after she snapped his photo outside a Miami nightclub. However, Juan Sanchez of the Miami Police Department says the reports are premature. “Mr. Brown has not been arrested nor accused by the Miami Beach Police Department of any crime, as reported by some websites,” Sanchez said in a statement. “A report was filed by the victim, which the Department is investigating. This is an open investigation; therefore I cannot comment any further.”

Chris Brown, Rihanna collaborate on two tracksThe Internet has been buzzing that Chris Brown was going to appear on a song with his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, but the former couple has one-upped the gossip. On Monday, they revealed that they've collaborated on not one, but two songs together. Yesterday evening, Brown tweeted a link to a downloadable remix of Rihanna's explicit "Birthday Cake" track featuring his vocals. Rihanna followed suit, tweeting a link to a remix of Brown's "Turn Up the Music," which features her on a verse. She wrote along with it,"@chrisbrown Turn up the music remix #RihannaNavy #Teambreezy enjoy!!!" |
